I didn't invent the squash match, but I invented my own type of squash match.

It was a direct show of domination, reminiscent of growing

a human to the life.

You had to keep your eyes open the entire time because you didn't want to

anything.

And every one of you will be lying if you said you didn't want to see it.

The fact is I was born to be a football player. I grew up having two older

brothers that played Division I football.

My father played football.

Everybody I knew played football. The only thing I ever wanted to do was play

football.

I literally had to be in the hospital to be kept from playing any game.

Once I got the helmet and pads on and I was able to hit somebody.

that was one of the best feelings I've ever had in my entire life.

And it's a feeling that I could replicate play after play.

At times you think, you know, hey, is it worth it?

Later on in life, am I going to be able to walk like a normal human being?

Am I going to age much, much faster than anyone else?

It's worth it.

Fourth preseason game in the line of Falcons, playing across a name.

John Runyon.

Beat him on the outside.

I took a step towards him, and the next thing I know, I got air -holed by

Runyon.

I landed very precariously, and I ripped my abdomen off of my pelvis.

You know, unfortunately for me, that was the beginning of the end.

The fact is, I wasn't an all -pro defensive tackle.

I had to fight practice after practice to keep my job.

Though football was the only thing I ever aspired to do, I fell short.

I had to figure out a plan B. The only problem was I had no plan B.

So I had nothing to fall back on. The only thing I aspired to be was a

professional football player. When that got taken away from me, I was completely

lost. I had no desire to do anything except lift and lift and

lift.

I worked out of Main Event Fitness throughout my entire career at the

for four years.

And I'd run into Lex and I'd run into Sting and I'd run into Bagwell.

So I'm training and I hear somebody making fun of me in the background and I

look and it's the three of them.

I'm a sensitive guy also.

And so I exploded instantly and I just turned and I looked at him and I said,

blow it out your ass. And I was waiting for any one of them to step to me

because I would have ripped their face off at that point.

I was not anything but someone to stay away from.

First time I met Bill Goldberg was actually in the Gold Club, a gentleman's

club.

And I was actually with Eric Bischoff at the time.

And I'm talking to this guy.

And back then, Bill had a full head of hair. I'm like, man, this guy's money.

I go, Eric, meet this guy. They start talking, and I'm like, dude, you need to

do this.

So I made the decision. I picked up the phone, and I called Eric Bischoff.

I'll never forget what I told him. I've decided to wrestle, and I'm not going to

be one of those $500 throw -around -the -ring pieces of shit.

I'm going to make a difference.

Bold statement from a guy who'd never been in the business, but a bold

from a guy who has a lot of confidence in what he could bring to the table.

Bill, it started showing up to Nitro.

doing a couple of matches where the television cameras aren't running, just

we got a chance to see what he was capable of.

The vision for the Phil Goldberg character wasn't clear in anybody's mind

that time.

We knew we had something. We didn't know what, but we knew that there was just

an innate, natural charisma there.

When he shaved his head and put the tattoo on, I said, dude, what are you

And he went, well, you know, I really think this is who I am and this is what

I'm going to be and I'm going to make an impact. I'm going to be different for

him. And Goldberg just reeked confidence.

And I said to him, you know what?

You might be right.

The WCW Power Plant, the number one wrestling facility in the world. Call

set up a trial.

We're looking for guys that have great heart.

We're looking for guys that want to be cut above everybody else as far as

athletes are concerned.

First day you walk in the power plant, you see a guy running wrestlers from

to rope, post to post.

Sarge is one of the most intense individuals I have ever met.

He has quite a reputation.

as a drill sergeant down at the power plant.

Sarge, Buddy Lee Parker, he was instrumental in Goldberg.

He helped me formulate this character.

I was going to be a 295 -pound bruiser Brody, Mike Tyson,

and Goldberg the human being times five.

Really no difference between the two, except for the character gets away with

lot of things that the normal human being would be thrown in jail for.

Jody, the assassin, was the godfather of the power plant.

He goes, what's your finish?

I said, I don't have one. He says, well, whatever you do, make it impactful.

I'm walking around the ring, and I look at Manny.

And I said, spread your legs and tuck your chin and kiss your ass goodbye.

I did it. And Jody's mouth was on the floor.

It's like whatever you just did, you do that every single time.

He's really the originator of the spear. A lot of guys made it hot. But Bill,

he's really like the first to really get that move over.

So we got the setup move taken care of. And I remember I was talking to Sarge.

and he had the idea of standing suplex but rotating on.

So I started doing the jackhammer to every single person down at the power

plant. And I'd get in there, and I'd work with him, and I just knew that

intensity he had.

You can't really teach that, especially in the beginning. You either have it or

you don't, and he did.

Goldberg came along at a perfect time. It's when the stars, the moon, and the

rest of the solar system was all aligned perfectly for him.

Okay, we ready?

So this is going to be basically Stroll Down Memory Lane.

Cool.

In 1997, WCW is the number one wrestling company in the world for the first

time ever.

You want a war?

You're going to get one.

Hulk Hogan has betrayed WCW.

You can call this the New World Order of Wrestling, brother.

As I always like to call it, we were the 69 Mets.

We had that one year.

Rating -wise, we were doing better than the Yankees up in Connecticut.

It was cutthroat. It was dog -eat -dog.

And that made it fun.

That's when Bill Goldberg walked into the picture.

It was Salt Lake. I showed up like I'm asked to do.

Hugh Morris will face a newcomer here in Bill Goldberg.

I was 12, 13 years old as he's starting to make his rise, and you didn't see any

vignettes about him. He just showed up on Nitro.

A man we know absolutely nothing about, Mike Denae. I certainly pride myself on

knowing the background of the wrestlers. I don't have any information on Bill

Goldberg.

Mike Denae, he would bring you the facts.

If you stump the professor, I'm immediately intrigued.

Get this roll -up. Nicely done by Goldberg.

Going up on the top.

Here's his move. Oh, he connects it.

I wanted to get in that ring. I wanted to show the universe what I'd been

working.

Anything that would get me excited, you know, I'd want to do.

I wanted to prove that at 290 pounds, I was still very athletic.

You know, I want to see anyone my size do that.

Mom, I'm waiting.

We're going to pick him up again.

Morris was 300 pounds.

And he just picks him up like he's 120.

It really made you feel like, wow, I don't want that guy to grab me.

I know I felt that a couple of times. Like, whoa.

What a debut for Bill Goldberg.

I'm going to try to find out something about this big man.

A gentleman the stature of Hugh Morris, and you absolutely got in there and

manhandled him tonight.

Sir, I've got to get a little bit more than that.

This gentleman just walked in away from me.

The interview, I think, set the stage for the character.

It was organic.

He blows off me in jeans.

So now, from the minute you've seen this guy, You're intrigued.

I can't wait to see him next week. Very impressive.

But who is this guy, Goldberg?

Wrestling fans, it's hard to get their respect, and it takes a long time.

And now, going up against the Barbarian here.

Bill Goldberg is 2 -0.

There are very few exceptions to that rule, and that's The Rock and Bill

Goldberg.

Aggressive, man.

Goldberg has wrapped him in. Wasting no time.

Goldberg had that hit factor.

He had the look. He had the explosiveness.

Give him a few victories and they were already starting to go, okay, who's this

guy?

Bischoff saw, like, okay, let's start to put this guy at a different level.

Here he comes.

Getting the guards and knocking on the door.

Like, whenever you see anything in UFC or anything on a big fight, you know,

walk and the guards coming, and then he comes out.

And Bill...

He's breathing that stuff in his body, which I would have never done, but it's

Bill Goldberg.

He starts into that, you know, hooking and people were out.

He wasn't pandering to anybody.

He was on his way to kick your ass.

You're not going to find any man in any walk of life, in any sport, more intense

than Goldberg.

The crowd told us what to do with Bill Goldberg.

He'd step into the ring, he'd hit you, he'd hit you again, he'd spear you, he'd

jackhammer you, and he'd be in the locker room seven minutes later, and the

crowd was going nuts.

Okay, that works.

Disco Inferno better have a strategy against Bill Goldberg. The strategy

Goldberg is pretty simplistic.

Stay away from it.

Did the bell ring in this matchup? I don't know.

The match has not even started.

Glacier will begin things.

Goldberg just ran through Glacier.

Goldberg has been running through. A lot of people wonder where the streak came

from. Obviously, Bill was racking up all these wins, but then it became a number

that was tracked, and it added to that aura. That was Mike today.

Mike grew up in Southern California.

The streaks that were ingrained in his brain, the Lakers, UCLA, it

made you think of those teams and made you believe because they were bigger

everybody else. It was more.

than just the game.

Bill had a legitimate sports background.

Pushing the streak and giving it credence only added to that.

Well, Jerry Flynn is obviously a match for Bill Goldberg, especially, well, at

least to that point, when he just overpowered him.

Goldberg dominates again.

And this has to be among the stiffest pants yet for Goldberg.

And I don't know, that may have just got Goldberg.

A little bit more angry than he usually is.

How about that? Regal kicked him in the face as he was backing up.

Jackhammer time.

I believe Mr. Goldberg has come alive.

I'll never forget. Bischoff was standing in a doorway and I was behind him and I

came up and I put my hands on his shoulder. And I said, bro, don't let

this up.

And this is another chapter in the legend that grows.

Nailed it. Planted it.

Earthling's health and Chase Tatum has become victim number 54 on Saturday

night. There was no one besides 100 and Giant to go 30

and 0, 50 and 0, 100 and 0. He was cast perfectly for that role. Why?

Bill Goldberg was about as believable as it can be.

I'm kind of one of those really stupid, idiotic wrestlers that it has to make

sense for me. And if you're 1 -0 and then you come back after six days and

you're 11 -0, and I know I only wrestled on three shows and I was on all of

them, it's just kind of bullshit.

I think he beat Hugh Morris like 30 times.

Hugh Morris makes his way out.

I know a lot is made about the inflation of the numbers in the streak, and guess

what? I don't know how many times Goldberg would win matches on the

that we didn't see, at live events, at house shows. Heck, if you told me Bill

Goldberg won eight matches over the weekend, would that be really that hard

believe?

So I don't care what the number was. Of course, it sounded better when it

goes to 174 -0 and all that.

But it was very believable that he could get to that number because all we saw

Bill Goldberg do was win.

73 -0 for Goldberg as he goes into this matchup. And tomorrow night at Nitro, he

will challenge for the U .S. title.

Kidman trying to interfere, does interfere, and is deposited right on top

Saturn.

So I turn around, and there's Reese.

He's only 6 '10", 400 -and -something pounds.

Now the big man Reese is down.

Let's go, Berg, up. Let's go, Berg, fight back.

Raven is still down.

Oh, God, he's going to try to pick him up. You've got to stay focused here on

Raven.

That's a 10 on the Richter.

So, boys and girls, remember, make sure you can do the finish on everyone,

because you never know, you could be jackhammering every person.

Now, I remember this.

And it might have been 30 -0, 35 -0, maybe 40 -0. I don't know.

But I knew that.

Like, who's this cat to go 40 -0 and keep going?

I can honestly tell you there wasn't a time that I felt accepted.

I think a lot of that was my own doing, but nothing was put

forth to make me think any other way.

Goldberg was very hard for Bill Goldberg to...

to be outside of the ring.

There's a lot of us, man, that were just trying to help. And we were really good

at doing it and having a good time.

Sorry you weren't there for the ride.

Trying to push the ledger to 99 -0. It's Goldberg, and he'll have Chavo Jr.

Watch out.

So as the numbers continued to grow, you knew he was on an undefeated streak. At

the time, WCW didn't have that top -tier babyface.

DDP was on his way. You had Lex Luger. You had some of these other guys.

But there was a star in the making that you went, hey, if this keeps up, maybe

this is the guy that beats Hulk Hogan.

This one's for you, Henning!

In my career that has gone 100 matches without a defeat.

When Bill Goldberg was on his rise, I was the guy.

I was the leader of the NWO. I was, you know, on a roll.

Bill was at the right time, right place. He, you know, sooner or later had to

have a run -in with the main event, Hollywood Hulk Hogan, because I was

game. I was running the show back then.

To all the NWOites!

that worship Hollywood Hogan, welcome back to the house that Hollywood

built. I just called Eric Bischoff up, and I said, we're going to Bill

Goldberg's hometown, Atlanta, and we all need another A player to work with. We

need another Hulk Hogan. We need another Sting. I'm sitting at home watching

Thunder on Thursday.

Breaking news, you know, at WCW, and J .J. Dillon comes on and he says,

Hollywood, Hulk Hogan, the WCW champion, is contractually

obligated to defend the WCW heavyweight title belt against

what I feel is the number one contender, Goldberg! Oh, yeah!

I obviously hadn't heard anything about that. I was like, holy.

I mean, Georgia Dome in front of my fans.

I'm wrestling Hogan.

Oh, my God. I don't think I slept the entire weekend.

it is my dad, he's going to be Hogan tonight, definitely.

Without a doubt.

The buzz around Atlanta was crazy.

I got a little chills from this because, you know, in the Georgia Dome, for him

to be there in front of 44 ,000 people, they oversold that.

And Bill was over everywhere, but here especially, he was white hot.

being in the locker room.

And the last time I'd been in that locker room, I had dressed for the

Falcons. And it meant a lot to me.

Georgia Dome was a really cool place. I hated the turf.

It ended my career, but it was a really cool place, and it meant a lot to me.

You know, the fans meant a lot to me. Being in Atlanta meant everything to me.

Well, that night in Atlanta before.

I went to the rink. The whole place was screaming Goldberg. Every sign in the

building was Goldberg. It was his town. He played football for Atlanta.

And that was the atmosphere in the building.

Not to mention I had to wrestle Scott Hall earlier in the night.

And that kind of went wrong.

And like during the match, he looks at me and he goes, man, you're messing it

up.

What are you doing? And I'm like, I ain't doing it on purpose, dude. I'm

terrified. I don't know what's going on.

Walking out there in front of 40 ,000

fans, it was surreal.

What's going through his mind right now?

It was an emotional day.

It was a taxing day. It was so stressful.

But it was the culmination of everything I'd worked for my entire life, I

believe.

Atlanta, which was the perfect storm for Bill. I mean, this is his hometown.

I did it in, you know, San Francisco, California, L .A.

And he wrestled me. It wouldn't be the same.

Goldberg has answered every challenge to date.

This is the biggest one. That heightened sense of anticipation is now over.

Let the match begin.

Gentlemen, start your engines.

The fans erupt at the bell.

I've never seen that. Never heard that in our sport.

Hogan was great, man. Hogan's Hogan. I've always looked up to him. I've

aspired to be as successful as he was in the business.

I was honored and privileged to be in the same ring as he was.

I had 100 % trust in him as a businessman.

Mr. Icy Hot.

We lock up and the first thing he

does, pull me into a headlock and he puts my head in his armpit and he's

Icy Hot, I can't see the rest of the freaking match.

I know you

did that on purpose, but...

It's a good cover, you know, with your age.

I get it.

But I still think he did it on purpose.

But it's funnier than hell. It makes for a great story. Now here I'm saying it

500 years later.

I still love you, Terry.

And he's back.

And Hogan's down.

And Hogan knows where he's at. He rolls out to the floor.

He's going to take as much of that crowd as he can.

Oh, so dangerous is Hogan driving Goldberg.

He's in there with what he's heard about his whole life.

He's ready.

He's calling for it.

This is it.

This is it.

Tony, pick him up!

And I've said it 15 ,000 times.

But the coolest part of that night for me as a human being, as a football

player, as Goldberg, was not beating Hulk Hogan.

It was after we went off the air, NWO beat my ass, and who

comes to my rescue?

My teammates.

My Atlanta Falcon teammates.

And that almost brings a tear to my eye.

Because that was life.

coming full circle.

I may not have done everything right in my life by any stretch of the

imagination, but I'd done something good enough. I was a good enough person to

be rewarded at that time by a dream come true.

And that dream was unbeknownst to me. It was something I never thought was going

to happen. The dream was not me making it to the NFL. My dream, it turns out,

was being the world heavyweight champion and having my idols,

the guys that I have bled with, cried with, gone to war with,

in a setting that I aspired to be in my entire life.

At that moment, those guys wanted to be me. Not Goldberg the football player,

Goldberg the wrestler, the guy that they put up here.

You know, they could beat everybody's ass. It was whatever. They just wanted

be me for five seconds.

I just, I sat in the corner and I just soaked it in.

I can never replicate that feeling again.

was clearly popping up in other places. And this seems like ancient history now,

but if you got on TV Guide, you were a big deal. You're going to check out for

groceries. You see Bill Goldberg. He's taking batting practice with Mark

McGuire. He's on a credit card.

It's the official WCW Mastercard. And he is popping up as a pop culture icon.

And it might have made a lot of people mad in that locker room. But guess what?

Goldberg was making WCW money. He was the cash cow.

Why wouldn't you ride that wing?

Bill was the company at the time. They were going to be on Entertainment Weekly

and the great, great Superman pose.

Love that.

He was white hot.

If you're marketable, if you fill the seats, then that's your job.

I wanted to make people smile.

I wanted to take them away from their normal lives for 15 seconds or 15

and let them enjoy themselves on a bath.

That's where you make the connection.

Who's better than Canyon?

Oh, there is your answer.

There's the man.

Damn right I took the character seriously because it's freaking me.

I took it very seriously. And anybody who has an issue with that, I'm really

sorry you're not passionate about your job like I was.

And by golly, it's one jackhammer.

Goldberg was absolutely huge at the time. We know that.

But I want to tell you this right now, because as a fan, Diamond Dallas Page

on that level. I've got a lot of favorite matches, but the match with

at Halloween Havoc, without question, one of my top three matches of all time.

When I went out there in that ring with him, it was a fight, you know?

It was a fight, and that's what I really love about that match.

He comes to us from the Jersey Shore.

By the way of the school of hard knocks, DDP Diamond Dallas

Hayes.

You've heard a lot of stories about Dallas.

They're all true.

All the positive ones.

Because they don't make a better human being than DDP.

You always help me.

He was always an open ear if I had a question, had advice for me, would come

with ideas.

He cares about every aspect of every part of the match, whether it's a very

small detail or it's a very intricate spot.

And to be able to wrestle him in a main event,

I mean, what an honor to be in the ring.

With such a tactical guy.

If you look in that

match, he's a giant Tasmanian devil.

That was just sheer brute

power.

When he comes running, he is coming to spear me in that corner.

And as he's right there, I literally kick my feet up, and he just keeps

The post ain't moving.

And he ended up hitting his shoulder really hard.

And don't forget with Goldberg, if he's got a bad shoulder now, he can't pick

the man up for his finishing maneuver.

And when I turn around and there he is, if you watch as he's coming down,

his head hits before my body does.

So Bill speared himself.

I knocked myself out in that match, which was a lot of fun.

He goes to pick me up, and he's doing it with one arm because his shoulder hit

that pole.

He can do it with no arms.

Oh, first time he hasn't been able to that I know of. I'm like, what the hell

he doing? I'm thinking something must be wrong here.

I don't know this is a shoot.

Boom, he picks me up, and I drop behind and spin him and catch him with the

cutter.

Without question, one of the biggest pops, personally, I had ever heard.

And,

like, it really comes out loud over the TV, but it was nothing compared to how

loud it was when you were there in the arena.

I woke up as I was jackhammering him.

bro, what the... And he goes, bro, I don't remember

anything after Spear.

There's certain guys, and Bill was absolutely one of them, that no matter

was going to finish the job, he came there to do.

Looking back, there's no question that that was the best match I've ever been

involved in. And it was 100 % due to DDP's experience.

and his way of going about business.

Bill Goldberg was a cyborg.

I mean, he was a beast.

You believed him from 20 ,000 people up right down to

row one or being in the ring with him because the

cat was the real deal.

I think people had seen me squash guys in two minutes or less enough. They

wanted something different.

How are you going to get sympathy on this character?

How are you going to make me chant for him if all I ever do is watch him lay

dynamite?

You get past DDP and Kevin Nash was coming up. That was a big deal. Kevin

was cool.

And here's where I started to learn about the wrestling business in that,

know, you got to swerve people. You got to give them what they want and then

take it away and then give it to them again. And I'm just learning. I'm

learning.

I had no control over anything.

I don't give advice. I don't give ideas. I show up and I do my job.

And now, the moment the world has been waiting for.

The mandatory match for the heavyweight championship of the world.

You look at Starrcade, it's like a prize fight. It has that prize fight feel.

Everything's at stake here tonight. Everything.

Goldberg's streak.

Goldberg's title.

Nash's reputation.

All on the line.

So during the match, we're going back and forth.

Bill's close to 6 '4". He's every bit of 6 '3 1⁄2". And Bill's probably 305 to

315.

And I'm legitimately at that point about 330, maybe 325.

And Bill is a very strong man.

Look at that power of that man.

Up onto the shoulder.

A guy the size of Kevin Nelson on the shoulder.

One, two.

When you're out there and you're, as we call it, dancing.

You see something, you just do it.

I said, I'm going to fall back on armbar.

And I did it, and the crowd reacted.

The second the crowd reacted, he pulled his arm out like it was, like, in molten

lava. I knew what I was going to do.

Like, I had a piece of wrestling art that I was going to paint, and all of a

sudden, Jackson Pollock threw up on the corner of my canvas.

So it was just like, you're killing me, dude.

It just jumps to where I think it's one of the greatest finishes of all time.

Let's run in Disco for no reason.

Just run him in. We'll put a Wolfpack shirt on him. He's not officially a part

of it.

He only deserves this. A spear for Thorburn. The Bam Bam Bigelow run in.

Remember, this is no disqualification. Absolutely it is.

And Bigelow, once again, uninvited. Not supposed to be here.

Send him to jail.

So I'm laying on the ground saying, like, is the clown car next?

Give me a break.

Truth be told, the cattle prod was not the first idea.

The first idea was a taser.

The first idea was the one that the policeman would deploy. He would fire

and it would shoot, and it had barbs, and it would stick in your, wherever it

hit you. And then the tether would light you up.

That's what I wanted to have.

I wanted him to shoot me with it and light my ass up on national television.

Because that was the only way you were going to take me down.

The way that it ended up diminished the value of me being a monster, I believe.

But it was safer.

You're not allowed to hit a human being with the taser that's real,

that knocks down 1 ,200 -pound or 2 ,000 -pound cows.

Oh, no.

Wait a minute.

Did this be it?

One, two, three.

And we have a new world champion.

The streak is over.

173 -1 and a new world champion.

Kevin Nash is crowned world heavyweight champion.

walked in and said, let's do this. I think we should do that.

That's what bookers get paid for. I get paid to go out and fulfill their

requests.

So that night I went out and I fulfilled their request to be beaten for the

first time at Starrcade by Kevin Nash.

So I don't know if anybody knew it was my birthday.

I don't think anybody cared it was my birthday.

It's Bill's birthday, December the 27th.

that he got beat because he came and told me that day. But it's also the

anniversary of my mother's death.

December 27,

1994, the day my mom died of cancer. I think I topped you. That's real.

I just walked away from him.

Kevin Nash had been assigned to the booking committee, I think a month prior

something like that.

The booking committee came up with the idea of me losing in Starrcade to Kevin.

We're going back and we're talking about history, so this is history, so I'm

going to go into it in a different... I don't have any problem with Bill. I like

Bill. I like him, but it's just like... To this day, you can roll this too.

He thinks I was booking when I beat him.

You know, as far as I'm concerned, since everybody just makes up, I think Hogan

and Bischoff...

We're sitting around drinking beer one night, and they said, hey, let's just

beat Goldberg.

Because I know I wasn't there, so I just make something up like everybody else

does. I don't know who's to say whether it was time, who's to say whether that

was the way to go about it, who's to say whether he was the right guy.

I didn't know what was in store. I didn't know whether it was all coming to

screeching halt. I didn't know the business enough to know what was next. I

didn't know what's next.

The 462 days of the streak, that was an era.

And that era is about a guy in black trunks walking in, mad as hell, getting

victory, looking as intense as ever, and walking out.

Bill Goldberg's era was lightning in a bottle.

No, it's got to be about something.

What's your name?

William. William, guess what?

That's my name. In all honesty, the number one thing that I garner from the

streak, it gave me the ability to be someone larger than life for kids who

need somebody to look up to that's larger than life.

You tell them who the man is.

There you go.

It's my man right here.

To be able to make them smile.

Once. Look at this guy.

You can't put a price on it. You can't put a value on it.

And it's really hard to explain.

Let's just say it's the coolest thing you're ever going to experience in your

life. Give me something, man. I like that.

I like that.

Come on, let's go to the ring. I was there when you won that championship.

There you go.

Everything about Goldberg was reality -based.

And that's why it worked for that whole Monday Night Wars run.

That's why it worked when he first got to WWE.

And

then he

Man, I'm a very complex individual.

I'll boil it down to the basics. I just try to treat people the way I want to be

treated. But when I turn into Goldberg, there is no boundary.

I am a perfectionist.

I'm a husband.

I'm a father.
