Gaia, the spirit of the Earth can no longer stand

the terrible destruction plaguing our planet.

She sends five magic rings to five special young people.

Kwame from Africa, with the power of Earth.

From North America, Wheeler, with the power of fire.

[theme music]

From the Soviet Union, Linka, with the power of wind.

From Asia, Gi, with the power of water.

[splashing]

And from South America, Ma-Ti, with the power of heart.

When the five powers combine

they summon Earth's greatest champion

Captain Planet!

(Planeteers) Go, Planet!

(Captain Planet) The power is yours!

[instrumental music]

(Kwame) In our last episode

the Planeteers arrived at the Earth's Summit

where world leaders were meeting to save the Earth

from environmental disaster.

(Linka) But Zarm, Gaia's ancient arch rival

was also there, along with Dr. Blight

and the rest of the Eco-Villains.

(Wheeler) Zarm had a bogus new machine that created

holographic replacements of the delegates

so he could wreck the Summit.

(Gi) We tried to stop him, but Zarm

tricked us into giving up our rings.

(Ma-Ti) Gaia came to our rescue and had Zarm on the run.

(Wheeler) But Zarm used us as bait to trick and defeat Gaia.

What have you done to Gaia?

Gaia is simply starting to show her true age.

What is it, Gaia, five, six billion years old?

[chuckles]

Find Clash.

[groans]

What's she saying? Get away from her!

[all scream]

(Gaia) Aah!

[Kwame gasps]

and send it to your head of state.
