Gaia, the spirit of the Earth

can no longer stand the terrible destruction

plaguing our planet.

She sends five magic rings

to five special young people.

Kwame, from Africa, with the power of earth.

From the North America, Wheeler with the power of fire.

From The Soviet Union, Linka with the power of wind.

From Asia, Gi with the power of water.

And from South America, Ma-Ti with the power of heart.

When the five powers combine

they summon Earth's greatest champion

Captain Planet!

(Planeteers) ‘Go, Planet!’

[instrumental music]

The power is yours!

[dramatic music]

My fellow polluters, | thank you for coming.

If we all stick together

we can stick it to planet Earth

like it's never been stuck before!

Just tell us the good part, Plunder!

[snorts]

How we're gonna get rich?

The word is filthy rich, Mr. Greedly. Watch.

Hey, Plunder, what are you trying to pull?

The plug, Dr. Blight, of the world's water supply.

We are going to contaminate the water systems

‘of every major city.’

‘Divert clean water to our bottling plants.’

And sell it to thirsty citizens at astronomical prices. Ha-ha!

How are we going to pollute the water?

Toxic waste, sewage, chemicals..

"The opportunities are endless.’

[munching]

| sense people are already spoiling their water supplies.

We are just speeding up the process a bit.

If we can find Plunder's bottling plant

we can bring safe water to the city.

[bird squawking]

toxic waste are dumped into rivers, lakes and streams.

Much of it comes from people's homes.

So, to clean up Earth's water, clean up your act.

Do not dump chlorine, bleach, solvents

‘and other toxic materials down your drain.’

And keep things like motor oil and batteries out of your trash!

To find an appropriate site to dump these toxic materials

contact your local sanitation department.
