When I was young my dad used to
tell me stories about the stars.

I remember him telling me the stars
in the night sky were no longer there.

He explained that they were suns which
had burnt out millions of years ago.

All we can see is the light
from them, which has traveled

millions of miles across
the solar system to us.

By the time it has reached us,
all the stars have already died.

Now when I look up at the stars
all I see are ghosts

forever haunting a mass
graveyard in the sky.

because they had to wait

for all the snow to be settled.

Before any of them could leave,

they decided that they couldn't
let the outside world

know what had happened.

They simply couldn't live
with the knowledge

that the rest of the world would
find out what they'd done.

So in order to keep this
secret, they,

they gathered the remains,

the children's bones and the clothes,

and they buried them on these moors.

It was only through hushed rumours,
spread down through the generations

that we kept this secret alive.

It's the worst thing I've ever heard.

It's not something this town's
particularly proud of.

it in local holiday brochures.
