Our mission is to investigate allegedly spooky locations

And figure out if they are truly "haunted."

As we step off the script and into our own thriller

Our story begins in 1878,

When edward merrill built the house for his family.

Now infamously known as the merrill house.

[creepy victorian music playing]

Edward merrill was the town's magistrate,

Which is, like, a really powerful judge.

However, edward's political career was short-lived

When he mysteriously left the merrill house,

Never to return.

Ownership of the merrill house

Changed hands several times over the decades.

Families and their servants moved in and out

With the spirit of one servant's child never leaving.

-Can I guess the next part? -Please, please.

-Are they a ghost? -[matthew gasping]

-He's catching on. -"I didn't see it coming."

In the 1960s, the final residential owner

Moved in referred to as "the last lady."

And it was one fateful night that the last lady

Woke from her bed and just like edward himself,

Fled the home, never to return.

As we head into our investigation tonight,

We'll search for the ghosts of edward merrill,

A servant's child, and the last lady.

All of these spirits lead us to the merrill house

Located in historic...

I'm jordan, the owner of merrill house.

Merrill house has lived many lives.

It began as a private family home

And then when I bought it five years ago

I converted it into a boutique luxury hotel.

I really consider myself a custodian of this house.

Merrill is that sort of

Typical iconic haunted house.

Many people have lived here over many generations,

So it's conceivable that there would be ghosts.

The merrill house is a hundred percent haunted.

I mean, I certainly think there are hauntings.

There's definitely some spirits that live there.

Perhaps there was some unfinished business here.

Who encouraged edward to rule with an iron fist.

Where he was petitioning him on quite progressive issues

Like abolishing capital punishment.

He was forced to sentence two people

Who he thought were innocent to be hung.

The guilt of this action caused edward

To take his own life by hanging.

So servants moved into the home along with their children,

All of whom occupied the third floor.
