the Nazi party actually grew out of an

occult or several occult groups that

began in the late 19th century in

Germany

these ideas were very widespread in

Germany at that time

there was a very violent reaction at the

beginning of our Century against

materialism positivism of the present

and it took the form of a kind of

spiritualism

of going back to nature of searching for

Life forces which are true against the

present which is false and Hitler got

into contact with that

this was the world into which Adolf

Hitler was born on April 20th 1889.

not in Germany but in neighboring

Austria-Hungary an Empire of many races

and languages

Hitler's family was German speaking and

it was to Germany that Hitler developed

a passionate attachment and Allegiance

Germany was an advanced industrial

nation

but Hitler was entranced by an idealized

Germany of a far away mythical past

the young Hitler dreamed of becoming an

artist

in October of 1907 he moved to Vienna to

attend the prestigious Academy of Fine

Arts

but he failed the entrance exams

surviving on a small inheritance and the

sale of watercolors he painted

drifted until he discovered a bizarre

series of pamphlets titled ostara

the ostara pamphlets promoted in occult

world view based on a grotesque racial

struggle begun in a remote past

one of the police oppositions of Austria

was that the Jew was an ape man and the

Aryan was a god-like being and that the

Jew had defiled the Aryan woman who was

usually blonde

and the Jew was sub-human and brought

this giant down by merging with him

prejudice against Jews was common in

Europe

but it was this occult form of

anti-Semitism that Hitler would Embrace

and nurture for the rest of his life

in May of 1913 Hitler left Austria for

his beloved Germany

broke out a year and a half later Hitler

eagerly enlisted now he could be a

German hero

later claimed that during this war he

discovered he was being personally

protected by Providence

he told the story of a miraculous

survival

I was in a trench with several comrades

suddenly a voice seemed to be synced get

up and go over there it was so clear and

insistent that I obeyed automatically

and worked 20 meters along the trench

partly had I done so been a Flash and a

deafening report came from the part of

the trench I had just left as the shell

guided and led by disembodied voices and

party and by 1921 had become its leader

creating a mesmerizing party emblem

impact if not more impact than the

hammer and sickle

the swastika is an ancient symbol of

Good Fortune adopted by German

nationalist groups well before the Nazis

but it was Hitler who gave the swastika

the characteristic design that would

make it an emblem of undying evil

it's likely that the Nazis felt that the

swastika being a symbol of the Sun the

swastika itself invested them with

tremendous power

not all experts agree about Hitler's

belief in the nature of that power

my feeling is that what Hitler was

looking for was psychological magic as

opposed to a cultic magic

the Nazi party was moving towards its

first great crisis from which Hitler and

the swastika would emerge with lethally

charged power

on November 9 1923 Hitler and his Nazi

Stormtroopers marched on the Munich Town

Hall in an attempt to seize power

it was intended to be the start of a

national Revolution

police opened fire

the Nazis ran for cover

16 party members were left behind dead

coup had been suppressed

although Hitler was ultimately convicted

of treason the trial provided him with a

national political platform from there

he declared Germany had been betrayed by

the Jews and that he and the Nazi party

could restore German prestige

holy cause

a powerful future also lay ahead for the

swastika Banner carried by the Nazis

when they stormed the town hall

its occult orientation and practices as

it was feared for the torture and murder

it committed

its leader carefully chosen by Hitler

was Heinrich Himmler

believed that Hitler was a Reincarnation

of various old Warriors and kings

that children conceived in Nordic

cemeteries inherited the spirits of the

he later published lists of suitable

archaeologists to search for concrete

physical evidence which would support

the occult view that Germans were

descended from earlier Aryan Supermen

predicted Hitler's close call in 1939
