Art, the clown's a huge part
of Terrifi Fire's success.

Ultimately, I think it is
the charisma of the character

and the humor.

And a lot of that comes
from David Howard Thornton,

who plays Art the Clown.

I mean, like that, that
grin, that white pale face.

Like everybody looks at that

and there's a little bit
of like uneasiness to him

because you know what's funny?

Because a lot of people hate

Clowns.

So the amazing thing about
art is that we don't have

to do much to promote him.

He, he promotes himself
starring, I'll just say it,

horror's newest

Icon Art the clown.

I was, I was lucky that
that face really resonated

with, with people.

But again, I think it's
just classic imagery

that we're very familiar
with, that's ingrained in us.

You really like him.

You want to see who he is.

Arthur Clown is very violent
and vicious, and he goes crazy.

Cold-blooded

love's killing for fun.

I think that's what makes
'em very, very scary.

I love the villain. I think
most people love the villain.

They're just interesting.
They're iconic looking.

There was something
about Art the Clown

that was very captivating,
eerie and creepy.

And there was just something
there that I couldn't,

you know, keep my eyes off it,

the way the character looked.

You just know that he has
that iconic look just like

what everybody's looking
for in like a slasher film

that's, that could
be remembered.

He's bordering
between comedic relief

and then a scary villain.

But his timing

and that dichotomy is, I would
say, almost perfect, because

otherwise he's laughable.

If he's too funny,
he's not scary.

And then if he's too
scary, please don't,

he's not compelling

because he doesn't have that
two side of, of each coin.

It's a clown
that's like supposed

to be doing funny
things, but he's

Doing funny things
in a murderous way.

And that's one of the
reasons why people fall

in love with this character.

They love how much
fun this character's

having, doing what he's doing.

And they love to laugh

and have fun with this
character at the same time

Are the clown.

To me, he's like an embodiment
of all the great horror icons

that came before him.

He enjoys what he's doing.

He's doing these
horrible, sadistic things,

but he's having fun.

He is such a fun character.

I I, I have a blast playing him,

especially in this latest film

And I can't wait to see

where Damien Leon's Twisted
Brain takes us next.

So here we are day,
technically day two,

but day one of
principal photography.

But really day two of
Terror Fire three. Yeah.

And we got the whole gang back

together and it's going great.

We here at St.
John's University.

A lot of the crews
were alumni of here

and a lot of, not me, not him,

but we're, we're here,
we're making it happen.

What drew me back, I, I
just simply love Terrifi Fire.

Well first of all, what
drew me back to the role is I,

I love playing the
character so much.

I will play this character
as long as I can.

He's such a fun little
mischievous little bastard to play.

I love working with
Damien and the cast

and crew, Lauren and David.

Honestly, it's the family aspect

that definitely draws me in.

And also the story. I feel
like Jonathan has more

to tell than if
Damien feels that way,

then I'm willing to go on set.

I want it to be a
horror fan's like Dream,

where it's just, we can't, we,
we, we can't give you enough.

It's just, it's just constantly
throwing as much at you

as you can possibly stomach.

And, you know, hopefully
it'll quench a lot

of horror fans, thirst.

I would say the
people are what drew me

to the project a
hundred percent.

'cause they're
who you see first.

They're who you talk to and

they're also what
keeps you around.

Like I am personally.
I'm the, I'm the outcast.

Say now I'm, I'm not the
horror fan in the group

as much as everybody else.

When Terra Fire
Three came about

and Damien presented me with
the script, we were just

so excited to
collaborate. Again.

Whenever Damien, you know,
asks, if I wanna be a part

of anything, I would show up.

I'll get him coffee, just

'cause I really believe in
his artistry and his genius.

It has a cult following
of really dedicated fans

that are just amazing and,
and really supportive.

And I think that's part

of the reason why I was really
excited to join this project.

The fan is there, in part

because they love the fact
that Damien produces practical

allusions to the audience.

Three, he's, he's not trying
to trick them with VFX,

he's not trying
to hide anything.

He, he wants to
expose all of it.

We're, we're laughing
because, you know,

people think I have
a cameo in the movie,

and a, a cameo is, is when Bob
Hope is in the Muppet movie.

That's a cameo. Not a lot of
people can brag about this.

Not a lot of people would say,

I was in Star Trek
and Star Wars.

Not a lot of people could
say, I've been killed

by the Phantasm Sphere
and Michael Myers

and now the Terror Fire Cloud.

The big thing we decide to
do is make it a Christmas film.

That was, that was something
I've known about for about two,

about two years
before, you know,

we announced Terra four Three
was gonna be a Christmas film.

So that was a, that was a
hard secret for me to keep.

And I I love that idea of making
it a Christmas film action.

Christmas is my
second favorite holiday

and I wanna try something fresh.

Damien wrote a banger of
a script for this movie.

Really got me excited.

I always grew up
loving the Christmas

sub-genre in particular.

There's two iterations

of the Tales from the
K Crypt episode and all through the house.

One was made in the seventies,
one was made in the,

for the show in the eighties
directed by Robertson MEUs.

And they're just

for my two favorite
like horror short films.

And I always loved
Maniac Santa Clauss,

but it's been done to death

and I never even thought
about taking my crack at it.

'cause what could I
do really differently?

So one of the fun things
about Christmas especially is

that you see all these like
gorgeous like lights and decor

and that's like
cozy and familial.

I love Christmas
horror films in itself.

I think that's a
fun little genre.

So I thought that was
a brilliant idea to

bring a horror icon into
another like horror genre

because you haven't really
seen that done before.

This Terrifi movie
being set at Christmas is

ingenious marketing.

And I think we will,

we'll separate it from the
other movies in such a unique

particular way.

Now, if I dress art up
as a maniac Santa Claus,

that makes art fresh.

It gives him something
new to play with

and it kind of makes
the old maniac Santa

Claus trope fresh again.

So right there I could
start having, you know,

that gets me excited.

We could start entering
new territory here.

Damon was telling
me where he wanted

to take Victoria in
the, in the franchise

and in the lore of Theier world.

I mean, just that alone and
that arc of the character.

I mean, I've never been able
to, to really see a character

through over that
amount of time. Come on,

Halloween is almost over.

Christmas is coming. Let's
put on Terra Fire three. Hi,

How are you?

What for Terra Fire?

The original, we had so
little money, it was a,

I think a $35,000
movie at the time.

And my mindset was why
is somebody gonna come

to see this film when they
can go watch a multimillion

dollar Hollywood movie? The

Script went through
so many phases.

There is like the, the
original script I read is a lot

different from the
what we actually filmed

because we had to
make adaptations as we went along going,

you know, like what, what
time we had, what amount

of money we had in our
budget to film what we had

to do and stuff like that.

These guys making the movie
in Damien's mother's garage

or Michael Levy's
mother's garage.

Phil Fcon I think is why they're
like, you know, we gotta,

those are intestines in the
sink, just leave them there.

I need 'em later. I remember

Like my stomach being in knots

and being like, what the
hell is this sick fuck?

Like, and I was like, I'm, I
don't know if I can do this.

Like I'm, I'm an
artist, I can't do this.

And now everyone's seen it in
the world and now I love it.

And now I appreciate it.

And I don't think Damien's
a psychotic individual.

I think he's an amazing artist.

Damien was an effects artist

or somebody who was striving
to be an effects artist

who decided to sort

of make this independent
film this horror movie.

And I think it was a
launchpad for, you know,

his creativity and
what he wanted to do.

And this was a vehicle for him.

Like, there's something
about making a movie like that

and having it succeed.

That for, for the independent
minded artist, 3, 2, 1,

action is extraordinary.

The audience has
embraced it so much so

that it's made him
a very good living

and has allowed him

to put more money
into continuing this character in this

franchise right now without
the help of the big studios.

I hired Phil Falcon first
and foremost. I hired him.

I'm getting videotapes. I
can't say whose name I'm doing.

I did it all. No, Phil Falcon,

I'm the executive
producer. Producer.

My name is Michael Levy.

I was Willie Exterminator
in the original Terra Fire.

Wait, Mike, come back.
We took Johnny O's

Kid and I, producer

and assistant director on
Terra Fire two and three.

My name is Jason Levy.

I'm one of the
co-producers of the film

and also I did a little bit
of casting in it as well.

Hey Dave, we're gonna need
you on set. Dave, what

This is like a big budget
movie for a big audience

that's done on a
small budget still.

So that kind of becomes
the producer's challenge of

how do you still keep
growing but not grow too fast

or forget where you came
from and switch things up

and not do what you should
do for the audience.

Yo, yo you guys,
you, you look so good.

I mean, way better
than mine. I mean,

I was gonna do
the blood thing too,

but I I was just worried
about the cleanup,

but can I, can I get a picture?

One of the more
compelling aspects

of working on Terra
Fire three is the fact

that we have a team of
super passionate people.

So all of us are emotionally
invested in this movie.

It's not just a, you know,
you show up, you do your job,

you collect a paycheck
and you go home.

All of us have have stakes
in this movie as far

as we all want it
to do really well.

We want it to look
the best, we want it

to have the best performances.

It can have everything that,
that can make this movie great.

That's what we're
all striving for.

The terrify of three
certainly raised the bar

for the franchise.

I mean between the
kills, the effects,

the makeup, the lighting,
the production design.

I mean it's really
a bigger movie

and it, it's story-wise
it's great too.

I mean it really, I think fans

are gonna really appreciate it.

As a producer, your job is
to make things keep going,

moving low flow smoothly.

And I'm pretty
good at putting out

fires and, and doing things.

I'm very hands on. Throw that

To the, we wanna do better
than Terra two Terra Fire one.

We just want the quality
to be that much better

and we can achieve that
with the bigger budget,

but it's also the
people and the heart

and the passion behind the
scenes that help this movie get

to the level that it is

Budgetarily for
Terra Fire three.

It's definitely a huge
difference from Terra Fire two.

It's a, it's a big step up

and I think pretty much what
happened is everybody sat down

and Phil decided what he
was comfortable working with

and and producing with.

And then we all
went behind his back

and said, how can
we make it more,

it's nice and chunky.

How'd you get it Chunky?
Well, hot dog buns,

Cheetos, we can move

- These lights, wine
- Beans.

We, we just had a,
a much bigger crew,

so more hands on deck,
which made it much easier

for everyone else to just
focus on their department

because there were so
many department heads.

And even still this time,
like Olga for example, she,

I think she was the
head of two departments,

but there were so
many department heads last time that had

to wear so many hats
and do so many things

and it was hard to scramble.

It's a miracle that we even
got Terra Fire two done. Yeah,

Our most challenging
thing is always time.

And the difference between two

and three was definitely
time on two we would,

because we had such a small
group, we would be prepping

for a week and then
filming for a week

and that would just continue

A bigger team set
design everything.

Like it was, it was pretty,
it was actually kinda surreal.

It was like, it almost felt
like I was like all the time in

between Terrifi Fire three

and Terrifi Fire
two was like a week.

I mean we made the
movie in three months now

as opposed to three years.

So that's a big trade off.

I don't have to waste, not
that it was a waste of my life,

but that's a, that's a long,
that's a big commitment.

Years of your life
to make a movie.

So, so that's the,
that's the balance

and that's the, you know,
that's what you gotta do.

Some of the challenges
within Terra Fire three were

definitely packing a
lot of action and gore

and effects within
our 12 hour days.

Effects take a
long time to set up

and then a long time to shoot.

We have to tarp
everything off, make sure

that the room doesn't
get blood all over it.

So there's a lot of
steps for effects.

So makeup takes a long time

And you have a budget
and you know what that is

and it's just making sure

that you stay within
it the best you can.

Something unanimously

that we've all decided was
the special effects was not,

and when I say special effects,
I mean practical effects was

not gonna be sacrificed
on this film.

Staying within budget
on the effects is

not the easy part

and it's probably the part
that makes them so good.

It's kind of just figure
out how to do them

and then build the budget around

That.

I read the script for the first
time, I would've been like,

you know, a $30 million
budget would be nice.

So within the restraints
of what we had and time

and everything, we
really just honed in on

what was most important.

It's like the
effects came first.

This is what we have to do,
this is what Damien wants,

this is what's in the
script, then it's all right,

this is what's left, basically.

And then figure out the rest.

So it's definitely interesting
when it comes to a,

an effects driven movie

and it's you, you
follow your leader

who is Damien, he
knows what he wants.

Just a little bit to the left

And a little, - This is
where I'm gonna get in trouble.

The, the truth is, bigger
budget, bigger problems.

You, you, what what happens
is there, there comes a time

where it becomes waste

and certain money gets
wasted in different areas

because you, you you, you're
forced to do certain things.

Whereas with the lower
budgets, you know,

we had a lot more
freedom in this one.

We had to do certain things
that, that cost more.

Hello, another beautiful
day on the set of two two,

I think, you know, it's
really when you are doing a big

budget film or you're
with the studio

'cause there's so much red tape

and there's so many
other things legally that

just are a part of
it all Damien needs

to be allowed to be unleashed.

You know, you might not
understand what he's doing,

you know, you might
not understand

how it's all coming together,

but when you realize Damien Leon

and you see what he's capable
of, you're like, just go.

It's different when
you're working out

of your own facility
or your own garage.

It's another thing
when you have labor

that you're paying for.

You have materials that
you're costing out,

you have overhead that
you are having to pay,

but there's all these elements

that really go into producing,

Even though it was a much
bigger budget than the other

films, it still had
a lot of challenges

because going bigger,
there's bigger problems

and different problem solving

and different things that
you might not have foreseen.

But because of the
bigger budget, we were able

to do bigger things

and make it much more dynamic
with, with the bigger budget,

you're gonna say, wow,
that's really good.

Definitely a fun
challenge to be a part of.

And I'm honored that
we finished the film.

Damien Leone, writer
director of Terra Fire three,

He wears so many hats.

Like he's the writer,
director, I mean makeup artist.

He was able to defer that

to an actual
department this time

because he had a bigger
budget, which is great.

So he could focus on directing
and, and just his vision.

But he's always so
calm, which as an actor

and just a hyper person, it's,
I'm in awe when I see that

because he's got
so much on his mind

and I'm like, how is he able
to just zone in and be so calm?

I'm in awe of him.
When I see that

As the producer, I try to
let Damien get as creative

as he wants and give
him everything he needs

and ensure that he has it.

I do voice my
opinion quite a bit.

I'll, I'll always
call him on the side

and say, why don't you know,
why don't you try this?

I, you know, sometimes he
listens, sometimes he don't

Comes Queen Phoenix, oh

Baby Damien is a
fantastic director.

He definitely has a vision.
I have so much respect

For him.

He has been a believer in, in
himself and this franchise.

And there's so many
opportunities that he had along the way

to take and there's so many
opportunities that I understood.

If he took it like
I think we all would

where it would make his life
a little easier and he didn't

and he kept his
integrity, we love you,

We miss you.

I know that he wants what's
best for the character

and the portrayal
of the character.

So I have a lot of trust in him

and I know

that he's gonna tell the best
story possible for Sienna.

It's really special to
have a director isn't just,

I like this and want
it to look like this.

It's, I know how to make this

Damien and I do like
pre-production for months

where we're bouncing off
ideas off each other.

He's a master and I
love watching him work

and as a producer it's up
to us to figure out a way

to get his vision done

And know that we had a hand
in creating this is something

that's super humbling.

Something that I'll
always be grateful for.

He seems like a psycho based
off of what he has written,

but he's such a nice guy

and thank God I got
to meet him first.

Yeah dude, it's gonna awesome.

It's gonna be the best
thing since sliced bread.

Oh, no pressure. He knows
he's done it from when Terra

Fire was this small,
independent film.

And now what has this
grown to, you know,

the mega slasher it's been,
he knows what it takes to,

to make, you know,
to make those,

those kills pop and look good.

And when you see somebody
that really pays attention

to every little detail

and you've got a lot,
especially in the horror world,

his shots and really wants to
make sure he has everything

and has what will be
better than the last one.

He's a good director.
He's a really good director.

And I think when you wrap it
into a slasher movie concept,

people don't give it
the credit it deserves.

Great job, buddy.

Was good. It's so much
fun working with Damien.

I would work with
him, with him anytime

Because Damien is
such a perfectionist

and very talented in

that he is very particular
about everything

and is very focused
on the details.

This could have like
a home improvement show.

The call with Damien,

He's very actor,
friendly director.

He, he has his ideas
about how he wants things,

but he's also open

and willing to hearing
other people's thoughts

and you know, see what they can
also bring to the character,

which is, which is great

'cause he's given me
so much freedom just

to build upon the
character himself.

I found that Damien was
constantly asking me to do more

and more, which as an
actor feels very unnatural.

And you have to, you have to
just trust that the director,

once he's ready to move
on, has got what he wanted.

And you're like, are you
sure? That felt really

big and strange.

And he's just like,
no, trust me, it works

for this kind of
universe. It works.

I'm a stage actor.
I'm used to being big.

And I was like, well, you
know, with this character,

he is a, so I can still

go a little bit bigger
with my gestures.

And so that's what I
wanted to add more to him.

I saw what a real
actor could bring

to this role, basically.

I mean, I saw all
the theatricality and all the nuances

and the quirks that
he could bring.

And then as we were
making the first film,

I started really
embracing the humor

that we could put into the movie

and we can inject that into
the character, especially

after a very gory set piece.

Sometimes he brings me
back, he's like, okay,

you're a little bit too
big and goofy today.

The first time I
saw what he can bring

to the character was shooting
er in the pizzeria scene.

It's the moment he gives Tara
the ring and then he gets up

and skips away to the bathroom,

put it on in the going.

So he just decided to, I think
at that point in the movie,

I had him playing
the character sort

of very straight the way Mike
Gianelli was playing him.

And then Dave just sort
of leaped up to his feet

and did this kinda like Bugs
Bunny walk away to the bathroom

and immediately I was
like, put off by it.

I was like, Ooh, that's
like, that's like too

much. That's too hokey.

Well sometimes do
different takes on scenes

and it was like, okay,
let's do a serious take

and make him more sadistic
and evil on this one.

Okay, now let's do a
little bit goofier now

and see what he
can do with that.

And or sometimes Damien's like,

I just want him serious
here. And then immediately

I just go, I mean,
it's aren't the

clown, I mean, he's a clown.

I said, why don't we just
really start embracing that now

and injecting more of
that into the character.

So once I saw that we
had that to play with,

we would do that a lot.

We've developed a shorthand,
we communicate very well,

especially on set.

He trusts me, I trust him,

especially in our
artistic departments.

I wanna like pretend
like it was awesome.

It's, it's brutal. It's,
I I say it's brutal

because the makeup takes
about six to eight hours.

He's such a huge fan, like
the rest of us on the team,

that it's just coming
out very naturally.

And I think that shows across
the screen to horror fans.

They know that no
one's phoning this in.

Like, this isn't just a quick
kind of cash grab or anything.

This is true, you know,
fandom and appreciation

and love for the genre.

Damien knows what he's doing.

There's no reason
to get in his way.

A lot of producers
wanna step on their toes

or put your creative
thoughts wrong in the mix.

And sometimes it's
health in a lot of ways.

It's just, it's not needed.

If you meet Dave in real life,

it's like meeting Roger
Rabbit or, or Bug's Bunny.

I mean, and then Roger
Rabbit is his favorite

movie, his favorite character.

I mean, he couldn't be
any further away from

what Arthur the Clown is.

- That would be amazing.
- Christmas working

with David is so much fun.

I love how he can
just switch it on

and off just so
quickly and easily.

Like whenever you just say
cut, he's back to being David,

but he's in the full
makeup and everything

and it's always a good time.

You would do that on tar
art too specifically.

We even had like a,
a fart competition.

Well, I, I love
Dave as a person.

He's just a silly guy and,
and thank God he's like that

because art is just a gruesome,

I can't even call him a
human gruesome entity.

Please don't. No,

Not us.

He couldn't be
any different than

what people expect when
they read the script

or they see the film

and then they go to meet
him or work with him.

They think they're
gonna meet a psychopath.

Real, I'm the psychopath really.

When they meet him,
he's immediately

Disarming.

It's all about keeping
art consistent and

and letting him play around
and do what he wants.

Letting Dave have fun
with the character that's

so sadistic is a, is a nice
twist on a lot of these things.

Danger to yourself
and everyone fucking,

there was a moment when
we were between takes

and I just was watching
Dave and Antonella

and they're just sitting
there doing like patty cake

together and then they're
like dancing around

and seeing Dave as art the
clown in a Santa outfit dancing

around with Antonella
as like this, you know,

he's this scary clown,
but he's really just Dave

and he is the nicest guy.

Dave brings the, I say the,
the physical humanity to the,

to the ca to the character.

You know, I could write the
jokes, I could write the humor,

but when you put the
character in the makeup

and these little quirks and
these little like nuances

and gestures that he
gives, I mean that's

what really brings
the character to life.

Wait a minute, aren't you
that guy from the costume shop?

You are. What are
you doing here?

It is really easy
to work with Dave

because he's always
attentive as a scene partner.

He's always coming up with ideas

and he's always fresh in
his ideas, which is really

refreshing as an actor because
you are always on your toes

and you can always
play off of that cut.

And that's my
favorite part of that.

My watch just like this.
He's just watching.

I love watching Dave work.

I've gotten to work with Dave,
so I've always known about

Dave's brilliance as a
human and as Arthur Clown.

I don't wanna take
anything away from Dave

'cause Dave is the
star and Dave is art.

But he'll tell you himself

that sometimes Ola coordination
isn't his strong suit.

He's a, he's a, he's a real
life cartoon character in a lot

of ways and that's what
makes him great for art.

But it doesn't
always make him great

for hitting this exact
Mark was good. I actually

Thought the first thing I
noticed when I created art

that worked, I mean I didn't
know he was gonna have this

longevity honestly when
I first created him,

I just thought he was a
visually striking character

and I just fell in love
with the look I knew like,

and immediately when I would
show people either sketches

or the prosthetic that I
sculpted when I put him in the

first short film, soon

as they saw this character
they said he looks amazing.

Like you need to just
keep creating more

things with this character.

Nope, my arms actually
getting tight. I know.

Why are you holding those
up? Oh, you have to.

Well I know that there was
a different makeup design

originally with Mike
Gelli who played art in

the original Terra Fire
Short in all Hal Eve.

And you actually see
his makeup design evolve

during the course of all how
to, what is more normal now.

So when I came on board,
I originally went in

for a mold that
they did in my face

and Damien had
sculpted something.

We used that mold one time
in the first terror fire film

and it's when the
cops come arrest me

and it looks like
my, my cheekbones are a little bit bigger

and stuff like that and
just don't read write.

So originally my buddy
Mike Gianelli played the part

and he wasn't an actor,
he was just my friend

who I would test makeup on
basically makeup effects

or I would make prosthetics.

So he played the character

and he played him just very
straight, simplistic, cold.

There wasn't that
level of theatricality

or that humor really yet
baked into the character.

But he was really working based
off of the, the aesthetic,

like his visual aesthetic.

For the first two Terra
fire films that I did,

we actually used Mike
Ellis original mold.

So that was actually Mike
Gellis face on my face,

which I thought was
really interesting.

My favorite show

of all time is the
original Twilight Zone you

Just crossed over
into the Twilight

Zone.

And there's an episode

that I love called Five
Characters in Search of an Exit

and there is a clown in
one of those episodes.

And I did take a little visual

inspiration from that character.

If you see him, you can
kind of see the similarity,

which is I always try

and pay homage to
Twilight Zone somewhere.

You're wasting your
time, you know that, don't

You?

When I first put on the makeup
back for Terra four one,

when I did the makeup test,

I actually went
into the bathroom

and for about 30 minutes
just sat there making faces,

trying, just seeing where
I could take the makeup

and they probably thought I
was having stomach problems

because I was in
there for so long.

Also, for the first film, the,

the makeup process took
a little bit longer.

We were using a different
type of prosthetic.

We were using a
gelatin based mask

and now we're using
a foam latex mask

and the gelatin mask would
fall apart very easily,

especially if any
liquids got on it.

So you might see some like
behind the scenes photos of me

with Q-tips in my nose

In this film, this is
actually the first time

where I did not do the special
effects, which is a big deal.

I've always done the special
effects on my films just

because of budget
constraints and

because you know,
like I, like I said,

I mean I can do any,
anything I really want.

It doesn't matter
what the budget is.

So now that we finally
had some money, I was able

to hire some of the greatest
makeup artists in the business.

I got to hire Christian
Tinsley to work on this movie,

which is still blows my mind.

I mean he's responsible for
the passion of the Christ,

no Country for All Men.

He works with the Cohen Brothers

Westworld, American
Horror Story.

I mean this guy's
like as good as you

Get for Tar Fire three.

Damien wanted a lot more help

for this one since we
had a bigger budget.

So he went to a Christian

for Terra Fire three.

We've sort of been communicating

with each other over
the last six, seven,

maybe even eight years.

I remember when he released
the first Tar Fire movie,

he would reach out
on social media

and say, Hey, check
this out if you can.

I became very close
with the FX team of the,

from Tinsley Studios with
Brian and Heather on set

and they said that

that made it like a lot more
challenging not to speak

for them, but
usually they're used

to someone who's
not sober versed.

So it's really cool

'cause he'll even get in
there with a paintbrush

and like add more blood.

I think Heather and Christian

and Ryan would kill
me for saying this,

but at the end of the day they
would, they would be like,

okay, we're gonna
take you outta makeup.

And I'd be like, and
I'd rip the mask off

'cause I was so like
tortured that they were like,

no, no, no, don't do that.

And I was like, it's fine,
it's fine, it's fine.

And then I learned the hard
way where you don't do that.

'cause you start to, your skin
starts to get very sensitive.

You do that too
many days in a row.

We used Christian Tinsleys
group to, to build a lot

of stuff where all the
stuff, I mean all the,

all the prosthetics, all
the, all the, the molds

and everything and

They're, they're
award-winning team.

I reached out to him

because I have a
separate company that

Halloween merchandising
in Response came to me

and said, well hey,
yeah, that's fine.

And you know, I'm,
I'm in the middle

of writing Terra Fire three
and it's gonna be big.

And I wanted to know if you'd
be interested in taking on the

makeup effects for me

because I really want to sort

of remove myself
from that aspect.

Christian Tinsley was
the one who said, listen,

I mean this is an
iconic character.

He says, we can't mess up
what you've already created.

We can't change anything.

It has to stay as true to your
original sculpt as possible.

So this is no longer
about me designing

and creating something
that no one's ever seen

or building a new
character for you.

This is me taking
the reins from you

to allow you the
freedom that you need

to be a better director

and to give more
focus on the elements

that need Damien's attention.

And so he sent me all his
original molds to la the art,

the clown mold, the Victoria
mold and everything.

And I immediately jumped
on the phone with Damien

and I said, look,
great, I appreciate it.

I have these, I want to
do your work justice.

I don't want to change a thing,
but these have to be remade.

I mean the reason
why it needed

to be res sculpted was just

because of the
amount of prosthetics

that we needed made over
the course of the film.

And I, I think I was still
running the prosthetic outta one

of the original ultra cow
molds, which is stone mold

that it's a very old
school way of making molds

and it falls apart over time. I

Went in and went in and
had a new mold done of name.

And so we're actually
using my real face

for Terra Fighter three and
they did a fantastic job.

We had some of his team come out

and actually do my
makeup for the film.

So Damien didn't have to do it.

And so now we have really
nice lifetime resin molds

of all these assets.

And, and he's, he's,
he's, he's happy

Seeing how excited
everybody in his shop was

to work on this.

You know, I'm still
under the impression

that no one really knows
what, what this is.

And they were, they
were so excited

and they never really
had the opportunity

to work on a slasher,
especially one

of this magnitude
before. When you

See these artists that
are doing this kind of work,

they raised the bar so
much on horror movies

that it was
incredible to see that

Damien has sort
of unapologetically created a project

and said, this is
what I want to make

and this is what I want to show.

And if you're willing to have it

and pay for it, $5
rental, $10 streaming,

whatever it is, I'll continue

to make it as long
as I have money.

'cause this is my passion.

He's used to being
behind the camera,

but he's also used to
having that cup of blood

and his gloves on so he can
rush in and do touchups and

and add more element to it.

'cause he was controlling the
effect as well as directing.

And on this one I kept
telling him it's like, your,

your job is to stand behind
camera, be as involved

as you want, but this
is really our job.

What the fuck?

I'd rather just sit back and
drink coffee, be like that.

More, more blood on that,
please, that would be great.

But actually I still,

I can't really keep my
hands off it totally.

I'm sure if you see
some behind the scenes,

I'm always in there with
blood, with a cup of blood

and the paintbrush,
I'm always, I have

to like meticulously
put my blood on.

It seems like your blood
is a very specific color

that you use in your film.

Let's work on that. Let's
try to dial that in.

Let's try to get something
that's gonna work well for you.

As good as Damien is.
These guys are amazing.

The budget was spent
on the effects.

You've tapped into
something that not only people

of my age for nostalgia
reasons are missing.

And you've created a character
that fits into that zeitgeist

of, you know, horror icons,
you know, the Freddy's,

the Jasons, the Mike Meyers,
the people like that,

which in itself is a, a
triumphant feat on his part.

Sorry,

As Damien has
said, many a times

that Art the clown is basically
every horror icon kind

of embodied into one.

This

Is God, there's a little
bit of every character.

There's Jason Freddy, Michael
Myers, I mean they're all sort

of baked into this character.

So at the end of the
day, I mean, like I said,

it's coming from a very
true organic place.

There's a little bit of
Freddy Chucky, leather face,

pinhead Jigsaw, all those
guys are inside of art.

They're very sort of mindless
cold killers, which I love.

But there's something,

it's why people love
Freddie Krueger so much.

It's like there's a,
there's a humanity in there

that people could identify.

And I think even though
art doesn't speak, there's

so many emotions that are,
that are conveyed, you know,

by his facial expressions.

Oh shit, the

First one, watch this one.

It's in deep Freddy
Krueger's at the

burn in the in the claw.

But like Art the clown, he's
got his bag full of tricks.

He's up there with
Ghost Face Scream

and Leather Leatherface
and Pennywise

and other horror icons.

And I think a lot of that has
to do with the mystery between

behind Arthur Clown because
he doesn't speak at all.

I mean, I think there's
a few boxes that you need

to check in order for
one of these slashers

to really resonate
with the audience.

First is I, they need
a striking appearance.

I kind of look at art
as being the bastard son

of Freddie Krueger
and Harpo Marx

or like an evil
version of Mr. Bean.

And so that's what I
always keep in the back

of my head. One thing for

Sure is I'll never
have him speak.

A lot of people ask,
is he ever gonna talk?

Is he ever gonna speak? No,
I could honestly say, he'll,

he'll never speak because
it would never live up

to the expectations of what
his voice could sound like

or what, what the,
that one word would be.

Or that one line would be

You have many clowns

and they're all, they all
talk like, I think Pennywise,

Steven, Steven King's Pennywise
particularly Tim Curry's,

I think is one of
the best portrayals

of evil clowns in history.

Hi Georgie, aren't

You going to say hello?

Most popular clown,
arguably still is, right?

Is Tim Curry's Pennywise.

I mean, he's the king
of all killer clowns.

So I said I can't do anything
even remotely close to what

that character looks like.

Just visually his personality.

I, Georgie and Pennywise,
the Dancing Clown,

He's the granddaddy of
all the killer clowns from,

you know, horror movies.

And so yeah, he definitely,
you know, both versions of him,

I I found things
that both Tim Curry

and Bill Karska did
with the character.

I was like, oh, I like that.

But like I would
say it's little bits

and pieces of all those
slashes that we all grew up on

and loved and, you know, watched

- Beep beep, Richie
- Come back anytime.

So I decided to
make him as like,

as colorless as possible.

So I just went black and white.

I said I didn't want
to give him hair.

I didn't want to give
him the bulbous red nose.

I love the comic book Joker.

I just love visually
the way he looks.

Damien was very smart in
making art the clown the

opposite of that.

You know, Tim Curry
talks and he has puns.

Art the clown is
quiet and silent.

Tim Curry's a Shapeshifter.

Art the clown is a little more
humanesque at least in the

beginning until he
becomes this entity.

That's the real deal.
That's my, that's my beard.

If Santa doesn't
have a real beard,

he's not a real Santa Claus.

When I hear people using the
iconic term, I'm like, ah, I,

I don't fuel myself personally,

but we've gotten
to that place yet

because those guys like Freddy,

all those guys tho
those are my icons.

He's Freddy Kruger with, you
know, the same personality,

but he doesn't talk, you
know, so there's a lot

of elements there that
are similar but different.

It's weird for me to be
equated in the same sentence

with those guys yet.

I don't know if I will ever
be like, okay with that.

You walk into a
Spirit Halloween store

and there's a Freddie Kruger
mask and a Jason Hocking mask

and Art de Clown.

That means that this
character has ascended

to the mythological level
of those other characters.

Hey, if other people
wanna say it, that's fine.

We want better, better
lighting, better acting,

and a little bit more of
a background for Sienna.

'cause I think that's something
that our audience wants.

The 20-year-old was arrested
at the crime scene and taking

Lauren please
Sanna is fantastic.

She's treated me like a a
little brother since the get go,

since the very first audition,

Do you have any super glue?

- A little
- What happened?

- Shrink came off.
- I thought you

weren't gonna wear
this tomorrow.

I'm gonna clean my
face then. Come on.

It's too late to get
into the costume.

- Lemme see.
- I love Elliot.

I really do feel
that he's my brother.

I'm very close with
him and his family.

I was so impressed with
his performance this time.

I thought he did
great last time too.

But he's really grown

as an artist. Everyone,
I'm just really

Happy.

I'm just really happy. Hi.

And Action Court is shutting

Me off.

I'm not shutting you out.
You don't believe me.

Why would he come back here?

Even if he was alive,
which he isn't.

When you wanna get as far
away from here as possible,

as far away from you,
maybe it's me, they want,

isn't that what you said?

I've said this to Lauren,
I've never seen an actor go

to the place and the
depth that she's gone.

And I've worked with a lot of
actors in different capacities

or been an actor myself.

And to watch that
was terrifying.

But also one of the most
amazing things I've seen.

I I would say in in Terra
there are definitely some newer

characters and added into it.

I mean, you have the me

and Cole characters
that are with Jonathan,

hi friends from
college, his roommate

and his girlfriend, which
they were a lot of fun to love

to hear from you
to interact with

because you know, her
character's very obsessed

with this art, the
clown character.

She's like, she almost
kind of idolizes him.

Sienna, you're Shaw.

I, I, seriously.

So I can't believe I'm
sitting here with you guys.

I was literally just
telling your little brother,

I'm sorry I'm, I'm probably
being a little weird.

I'm just, I'm super
stoked to see, to see you.

Mia has been
following our story.

Jonathan has been on
a really wild journey,

especially just since
the jump from Terra Fire

two to Terrify Fire three.

He has gone through a lot.

I think our audience
is gonna get a little bit

of a backstory for Sienna.

So I think that's
gonna be huge for them.

I know a lot of people have
been craving more of a story

for both Art The
Clown and Sienna.

And I think with this they
get a little bit of, of both.

All right, big energy.
Ready, here we go. And action.

I really love what
Damien continues to do

with this character.

He makes her so
interesting and strong

and vulnerable, which
I really love to play.

But there's this whole sequence

where Sienna is duct
taped to a chair.

And I remember having
issues about it with Damien

and I was like, I don't
think duct tape is enough.

Like I, I think after
everything she's gone through,

she's gonna get
outta this duct tape.

And he's like, trust me,
you won't get out of it.

So I asked the art department

to duct tape me multiple times
from my wrist to my elbow.

So I was fully duct taped

because I was thrashing
in that chair.

And every time I got out of it,

they had to duct tape me again.

'cause I was so fully engulfed
in what was happening.

And, and adrenaline
alone was enough

to get me out of that chair.

We wanted to progress their
story in some interesting ways

because, you know, what they'd
gone through in part two

was traumatic.

And we wanted to
address how that affects

trauma victims going forward.

Because I don't really see

that a lot in slash
your franchisees. You're

Bad.

- No,
- I'm

Let see you.

Are you okay? Oh my God,
you really get to see

that more in Terrifi Fire three.

I mean, you can still see the,
the hardships that she's went

through, especially

because she's been in
the Mental Institute for

however many years, probably
like five years at this point.

So you get to see all that.

She kind of wears
it on her sleeve,

but she still has that strength
buried deep beneath her.

I feel like Jonathan
contributes a lot with Storyline

and both that once again,
that dynamic between si, sna

and Jonathan, just
having that altercation

and conversations
about art and stuff.

I feel like it sets,
sets some cool stuff up.

We see a new side
of Victoria in this,

and this gave Samantha
graffiti the place her

a lot more to do.

And she was able to go to
some very interesting places

and she was able to
really flex her her wings

as an actress instead of
playing the damsel in distress.

She got to be, you know,
the accomplice, oh,

you're no savior.

Ooh, the

Victoria character plays
a lot in this film.

Anne goes through a
couple transitions

and so we were going to
add to her look as well

as incorporate
her original look.

Victoria Hayes in the third
film is completely possessed

and she herself is
no longer exists.

And that's because
there's an entity

that in the terrifi
lore is the entity

that makes art the
clown supernatural.

And so because of of
this entity, he's able

to come back from the dead.

And I mean has these
supernatural powers that we see in two

and in now three.

And that her coming into this
world through Victoria Hayes

as a vessel enables
him to have his powers,

but also enables her to exist.

And they have to become like
team members or teammates.

I love watching Sienna
and Victoria's dynamic.

They just, they have this
visceral reaction to each other

and it is really so fun to see.

Oh yes, glorious freedom.

Oh, oh my goodness.

Oh, it's so nice, nice.

I'm not really
sure what day it is.

Maybe 17 of Terra Fire three,
but doing a mall sequence.

We got our Santa display.

Well, my favorite scenes
to film in the movie was

with some of my icons.

I, I I I idolize, you know,
growing up watching films

with Daniel Robuck
and Clint Howard.

It's just this fun bar
scene with these guys.

- He peed on him.
- I've been in a lot of movies

and what we're always
looking for is a little flash

of magic.

That's good.

Okay, that's enough.

Daniel Roebuck plays Santa Claus

and Clint Howard plays
the town Drunk Smokey.

And just seeing those
two guys bring their a

game and that was, that
was a scene where I allowed

so much improvisation

and we were coming up
with hysterical things on

the spot. What's so

Goddamn fun?

I'll tell you what, cloudy I'll
kick your fucking clown ad.

I don't fucking,
it's never too gory.

You cannot have enough
tubes running into the body.

You can't have enough
tearing of flesh.

Like you literally
can't have enough of it.

Can't a fucking hint game.
I'm not gonna tell you again.

Oh fuck. When my
friends were so successful

with Tar Fire two, I thought
I wanna be part of that.

So who will I be playing
in Terra Fire three?

And Michael Levy one day said,

we've got a great part for you.

And you know, I got all excited.

And then they secretly
told me what it was,

gosh, two years ago.

And I was beyond myself with

Excitement.

Get the beautiful making

Party.

Seeing them together was cool.

And seeing how that
scene became special

because of them was really cool

because it was one of the
funnest ones on set. That's why

It's so fun.

And you can tell
he's fun to watch.

Him and Clint both
were fun to watch.

They're, they're fun,
they're great performers.

Santa Claus is frozen
and then chiseled to death.

Horrible. You know, you come
face to face with yourself

is one thing to
come face to face

with your eviscerated self
is something altogether.

Ah, why would they do

This to such a nice person?

And Clint Howard too is, it's,

it's the name doesn't
mean anything.

He's just a regular guy
just talking to you.

That's, that's how he is.

Hey, why don't you
tell Santa what you want

for Christmas? Little boy,

Better hygiene.

Alright, come on,
let's have a drink.

He approached me. We
met at a convention.

We were both guests and
we were just hanging

out at the bar one day.

And I think he said, you know,

he would love to,
to work with me.

He'd love to be in
one of these films.

And then when I wrote
the script, I was like,

Clint would be great in
this, this role right here.

Clint Howard. I, I'll be
honest with you, you know,

I've seen him my whole
life, you know, in films

and dynamite guy,
really dynamite guy.

I, I couldn't believe I like
got along really well with him.

I sat with him and
his wife had a ball

Action with the kidding,

The Santa Claus is
drinking at the end

of the Daylin
Howard is his buddy.

Bradley Stryker is, you
know, the bartender.

And we're just, you
know, sitting and,

and I mistake him like
any performer would.

I'm like, I'm a guy acting, oh,
here's a guy. He is a clown.

And I'm like, we're in the
same business. You and me.

You know, David Howard
Thornton in this makeup

is as creepy

as any single thing
you've ever seen.

Oh God. Oh God, no.

Oh God, no, no, no, no,
no, no, no sir. No sir.

No, no, no sir. No, no.
Please, please, please.

It was great working with
Danny Robuck and Flynn Howard.

A lot of fun. It was
actually one of the most

fun times that we had on set.

'cause both of 'em, not only
are staples in the horror

genre, but they're also really
great comedians as well.

And they've come from a
background of comedy all around.

Even when tensions are high,
he's always making jokes.

He's always having a good time.

Like Dan is really, you know,
a down to earth type of guy.

Working with Danny

and Clinton, that
scene was a lot of fun

because that's, that's the scene

that's kinda like the costume
shop scene in part two.

Or the pizzeria
scene in part one

where art just goes
in there and res havoc

and messes around
with people in public

and then bad things happen.

Come on. Oh, look
on please, please cla

help me, please.

Good. I'm good. Help me
out. Good. Lanny. Come on.

Oh, oh, oh, oh.

Danny really brought, oh,
brought his a game during the,

during his, his death scene.

Some of our crew actually
could hear him screaming

and basically pleading for
his life from, from far away.

Help me, help

Me, help me.

Damien took that
simple two-tone clown

and he created a thing
with an actor, the perfect

blend of the makeup
and the actor.

And it's terrifying.
It's terrifying.

We had this playground, this
idea that we could sort of

go back and that would be okay

and it would actually,
in some ways be better

because we're,
we're making it look

and feel like an old
1980s horror film.

It was a lot of fun on and
off the set, working with them.

I've worked with Danny on a
few projects, actually, one

of which is Stream.

And we did it right
before Terror Fire three.

And that's where
Damien had met Danny

and, you know, decided
to put him in this film.

And it was just a, a riot

What Damien did in
his, in his genius

or in his limited
budget, he made a movie

that seemed like you
were watching it right

after you watched Maniac
starring Joe Spinel

mean Yeah, yeah.

The, the visceral
reaction to the,

the onscreen violence.

And you were transported
to another time.

You know, these movies were
like something you'd see on 42nd

Street in New York.

We added more tubes,
we added more of this.

We, we ended up, you
know, ripping this part of the body off

and, you know, figuring out how

to make the, the effect work.

And so it was a constant
reconstruction of the effects

that we were sending to him.

It was fun, really
getting to play around

with Clint

and also Bradley Striker
who's in the scene with us.

The three of us had

so much fun those
days just playing.

The people my age love it

because it reminds us of
those Helion days when Dawn

of the Dead came out

and you'd see a, a
zombie bite someone's arm

and you'd see the viscera and
the, you know, the, the bone

and everything come
out in their mouth.

And you had never
seen that before.

Damien figured it out
when nobody else could.

He made it, made it old
fashioned and new fashioned.

Maybe like Obiwan
Kenobi Art the clown.

Come use use, use
the fos, you know,

and I'll be like a ghost

of Santa Claus who's
in all the movies.

That would be good. I'm
gonna, I'm gonna try for that.

So with Terra Fire two

and three, we've sort

of taken a supernatural
detour in the Arthur,

the clown franchise, let's
call it now at this point

where once I decided to bring
him back from the dead at the

end of part one,

I figured we should
really embrace the supernatural element.

Like what is this evil that's
resurrected this killer?

I think the main
thing that de Damien

and I had discussed early
on was that we wanted

to find something
that hadn't been done

before with a possession,

but we wanted her
to be fun and fresh.

Something that was different.

And I really hope
that people laugh and,

and enjoy her and, and,

and know that she's
absolutely balls to the wall.

Ridiculous. 'cause she is, and,

and does some extreme things.

The hardest part honestly
for me as a costume designer,

when he is already an
established character is all the

continuity of the
blood and everything.

'cause we don't shoot
in sequence of course.

'cause that would be easy.
So to go back to like,

say pristine look
and everything.

So we had to make probably
about eight of the costumes,

just the black and white.

And then the Santa, we
probably made about four.

Blood is so uncomfortable,
especially the blood.

Damien likes to use, he likes
to use the sticky blood.

We've just opened up
this other dimension

and let's really explore that.

Let's not just gloss over it.

Let's, let's embrace it
and see what could that

entity be doing and why is
it doing what it's doing.

So we've, we've explored
that in part two

and we really brought up a lot
of questions where now we're,

we're answering those questions

and addressing
them in part three.

Oh good. I want
them to, to love me

and hate me all
at the same time.

I want them to have
fun watching me.

And then I want them
to applaud, you know,

as I go out in my last chapter.

So that's, that's, if that
can happen, I'm, I'm good

For this one.

I wanted to make him
a little bit more

cocky and arrogant.

'cause he's, he's come back
from the dead twice now

and he's, he's having a lot
more fun, I guess you could say.

Also, especially since
he has Victoria with him.

In the original Terra Fire
Art wore black contact lenses

and then they got destroyed.

We only had one pair

and then I think by the end of
the movie they got destroyed.

So then it turned
into, Dave's realize,

I'm sorry, nice.

Nothing.

So then by the time we
made part two, I said,

just leave the contacts out.

They're a pain in the
ass and we will just play

it as you're normalized.

But I always wanted
this character.

I loved the black
irises that he had.

I thought that was fantastic.

So I said, we need to bring
that back for the third one.

So he now has these really
cool full sclera lenses

that have like these tiny
little pupils in the middle

and they're very bloodshot

and it makes him
look more demonic

and a little more frightening.

So, so that's, that's been cool.

So I think what really
separates er from every other

franchise is the gore.

Ah, we really have

to deliver the goods
in the Gore department.

So I make sure that every
movie now we have basically

horror, gory set pieces
that we have to keep trying

to one up ourselves
from the prior movie,

which is getting
a little difficult

because there's only so many
ways you can kill somebody.

But if you really watch
the difference between one

and two, number two, he
exposed much more to camera.

And on number three,

it's almost like you've taken
the filter off of the camera.

It's like everything
had to be seen.

There's a huge
element of why it's

so different from
other horror films.

They, they tend to pull back
these studio films, whereas

with Terrifi it's,
you know, balls

to the wall, we're gonna do it.

Ah, we're gonna figure it out.

Believe it or not, there
are limits that we will not,

you know, kind of go beyond.

So we try to do it
tastefully in many ways,

but that's really,
you know, kind of our,

our motto is just deliver
the goods, make it fun,

make it gory, make it exciting.

I don't even think about it.

Like Damien has picked the
head up, I picked the head up.

You know, I'm not even
thinking where did

the head come from?

And it takes a lot of care

because you're also working

with other individuals
in very physical scenes.

So you really have
to be present.

There's scenes with, like
I said, Chris Jericho who

we're both checking in
on each other constantly.

'cause it's technical, but
you're also trying to make sure

that that person is safe.

Growing up as a makeup
effects artist, I had

that skill set in my back pocket

and I can do all these effects

for virtually nothing
other than the expense

of the materials.

So I said I need

to put things in this
movie since it's a slasher

that I've never seen before.

And I've seen a lot
of slasher films

Like it's nothing
safe about it.

It's basically whatever
someone is scared to do

or doesn't want to do
or is just afraid to do

for whatever reason, is
something we kind of need to do.

I started just
researching, you know,

maybe torture methods
that I'd never heard of.

I mean just going to
some dark places trying

to get some inspiration.

And I came across this
medieval torture method

of hanging people upside
down by their ankles

and cutting them in half with
a giant hacksaw. Who's that?

- Dave?
- Hey

Dave, Jesus Christ.

And I said, if I can do
that to somebody in a film

and show every piece of
that, don't shy away from it.

I said, I've never seen that.

I think that'll get people
talking only intestine splatting

on the ground somewhere else,
obviously. No, not right

Here.

Well you can, well now we
gotta go into the second kil

and have the stroke get bleached

and salt thrown on it,
a skull ripped open.

And then the third one,
without getting any spoilers,

there's another huge, huge kill

that I think fans are
gonna really enjoy.

Of course there's the
infamous hacksaw scene that was,

that was a pretty
brutal scene to film,

both physically

and mentally, I
guess, especially for Catherine more than me

because it was 20
degrees around that night

and there was no
heat in that room.

But the thing with art is
sort of taking traditional kills

that aren't necessarily flashy,

but then trying to do it
in a, in a unique way.

Or when you see art
put his spin on it,

that's what makes it fresh.

So it could be as simple as
just him having a butcher knife,

but how would he kill
somebody differently than say,

you know, Michael
Myers would kill

somebody with a butcher knife.

I mean that's always the
challenge. That's the game.

I like to, I like to play

As a real knife.

I have built the blade,

but it's still a thin piece
of metal that can poke you.

No one will touch it.
But Dave, he's about

to place on the table.

Then I'll take it and make
it perfectly safe for people.

There's no bars
keeping us held back from

what we want to do.

If anything, what we found
along the way of working

with Damien is it
was never enough.

And that really, that
was, that was my, my

my training wheels that I
had to, I had to get used

to very quickly
and then tear off.

He's a nice guy.

Like the people who scare
us the most are like

the nicest guys. Evidently

Each film we tried to
make one step up, even

with the kill scenes.

I think that was the most
important thing for us is to get

that type of story out
there to everybody else

because you have to,

you don't wanna just stay at the

same plane with Terrifi fire.

You always gotta up
the kills up the gore.

And that's what we, I think
we did with the third one.

Fans are gonna be very, very
excited about the Gore aspect

and I feel like Arthur Clown
just went all out Once again.

Damien went all out.

It's gonna be a, a brutal,

a brutal horror Christmas.
See what you guys are

Doing.

I got here on break
time unfortunately.

Who is this? Santa?
He's scaring my kid.

- Yeah, he's scaring me
- Too. Hey

Santa's handing out
prisons, the Kills

and the practical effects are
just so much bigger batter

and bloodier this
time, which is hard

to imagine if you
haven't seen it

because the second one was
all of those things already.

We wanna make Terra Fire
three have the best special

effects, the best
Gore. Damien really

Has like changed a lot
of the changed the game

That I think Damien takes
that as a personal challenge.

I wanted people to
have a fun experience

with these movies, but I
also love the graphic kills.

I mean, I grew up
idolizing Tom Sini

and idolizing special makeup
effects, especially Gore.

So I knew if we were gonna
push the limits that far

and really kind of make the
audience a little, you know,

uneasy that we were gonna have
to wink at them at some point

and just, you know,
make them feel like,

all right, this is okay.

This movie is a
practical effects movie.

It's a Gore movie,
it's an effects movie.

And we know that's
where Damien thrives.

That's where the fan base
really, you know, comes

what they come out to see.

So that was number one
for us to make sure

that we delivered that.

- Who's nearby, what
- Do you need?

We had a lot of professionals
that that handled this.

Heather Ryan, of course
Damien stepped in.

We had Alana on set.

So we had a lot of
people that came in

and filled the

void that me and Damien

Left.

As soon as we knew what the
number was for the effects of

what we wanted to
do, then everything

else kind of fell into place's.

A lot of preparation

and making sure you have
all the necessary things

to make the kill happen

and then get everybody
on the same page so

that it takes into
a timely matter.

One of the, one of the
more interesting sides of

of filming was seeing how
David Arthur the Clown,

actually reacts to some of the
effects in Terror Fire three.

Let's go ahead and address
the big rumor that was going

around that, you know,
I almost puked on set.

That is true. And it's, it's,

it's at the climax of the film.

It's one of the big kills
that we have in the movie

and it grossed me out and,

and my thing is, I
can't stand puke.

And we had that in the
scene and I'm like, oh no.

And I actually got
a kick outta that

'cause David was already
feeling sick from the scene

and there were rats around and,

and then I just casually
was eating corn nuts

and Dave got really sick
and I just enjoyed that.

I love torturing Dave.

I'll grab some miracles. So
we had the use of fake vomit.

Obviously our art department

and our effects team
did a great job creating

this fake white looking vomit.

It was really gross.
And Dave couldn't even,

Dave couldn't even look at
the, at the, at the gag at at

what was happening because
he's very anti vomit.

Thankfully everyone
gets it, understands it

and enjoys puking and vomiting.

So that's a good thing.
And they were using this

Nasty soup concoction
and they had put starch

and everything, so the
smell was horrible.

And then the look
of it is horrible.

So I'm actually sitting
there, you know, having

to do the scene and
I'm like, like when,

when I didn't have my face in
frame, I'm just looking away

and it's like, I
can't look at this

and this thing just
projectile vomit.

The minute that throw
up goes into that tube,

he, he turns away.

He is like, I can't
do that. That's

just, he can't even look at it.

Can't smell it.
Like he, he was out.

So that was really funny.

This murderous clown
who's done terrible things

to people is afraid of vomit.

So that was, that
was, that was true.

I almost puked but I, I
held it, I held it together.

I held it together. I
was proud of myself.

But that's, I can, I can handle
all the blood and the guts

and the feces, all
that kind of stuff.

That doesn't bother me.

I can, I can watch
all that kind of stuff

and eat a hamburger and
be fine, but puke, nope.

There was even a gag where
Sienna takes out the sword

and hits art the clown with it.

Or I guess I think she
slices his throat with it

and then she slices herself
out of the chair and

because like it
was sticking to my,

the sword was
sticking to my hand.

I had to let go of
it and grab it again

and I was like praying
that I'd grab it

'cause I had to flip it
in the air and it worked.

Thank God, I dunno
how it worked.

I think my delirium took over

and it ended up
looking very cool.

But it was just
because Damien likes

to use this sticky blood

and he, I think
he just likes his

actors to be uncomfortable.

He will be like it

best gift ever.

To see that level of
quality put into the things

that I wrote on the page has
been, you know, it's like,

that's like a childhood
dream come true.

I wanna know what it's
like to be in the presence of

that kind of evil.

I feel like fans are
gonna be definitely,

it's gonna meet their
expectations for sure.

Art the Clown is back

Looking forward to the
best Christmas ever filled

with fun, smiles and laughter.

Dave? Laughing, laughing. Dave

Laughingly.

All right. I think the
audience can expect a movie

that exceeds expectations as far

as quality goes comparatively
to Terra Fire Two, just

because we have a bigger budget.

I think the fans are really
appreciate Terror Fire Three,

we pushed the boundaries,
we worked so hard

and it, I think
it shows on screen

and I think it's just gonna
help build the franchise.

Everything's
bigger, everything has changed a little bit.

I want them, I want people to
smile. I want them to laugh.

I want them to enjoy themselves.

I mean life is so, so hard
and, and we get to do that.

I hope that Terror Fire

and a lot of other indies that
have had this type of success

show to, you know, even
bigger suits with more money

that, you know, take
a chance, take a risk.

I wanna see how crazy
this thing is and they laugh

or they scream or they
cry, whatever it is.

If it entertained you
in any sort of way,

that puts a smile on
the filmmaker's face.

So that's what I would like
to encourage everybody.

If you guys are gonna
go see this movie,

just go into it and
have a good time.

Things are gonna change.

I hope the audience enjoys
it. I'm pretty sure they will.

I'm confident with what we shot.

They're gonna really enjoy
it. It's all about the fans.

Oh, I can't walk.

- Alright,
- Fuck everything else.

I just hope people have a
good time watching Terra Fire

three and I hope
they see that we are,

we've all worked very
hard to deliver a fun

and exciting film for them and
we don't wanna let them down.

Back in line Kids Time
for the Real Santa.

I wonder what I got Corey.

My guess is that this
film's gonna come out

and it's sort of going to
be this shocking surprise

to the studios.

Why I think people will
love this movie, especially

as you see you, you know, it's
not just David back as art,

but Lauren is back and
Elliot is back and,

and we're watching their
characters five years later,

they're grown up a little more

and they've experienced
this other thing.

And I think that the
audience is gonna want to see

where their story goes.

If the demon enters
this world in the flesh,

a counterpart must be appointed

to stop it from
becoming too powerful.

It's you Sienna, as
long you're alive,

they're vulnerable
and they know it.

That's why Daddy
created the Sword.

Whoever chose me
was guiding him.

He was preparing me for this.

I think they're gonna be
blown away by the Kills.

And just the fact that
the movie itself looks

significantly better
than, than the first one.

And, and then also
the second one,

She's always like in a corner.

It's really a bigger movie
and it story, it's great too.

I mean it really guess, I think,

I think fans are gonna
really appreciate it.

I think this is one
hell of a finale for

at least not finale for
the franchise of course,

but like finale for the film.

It's, it's, it's a
scene. It is a scene.

It's a brutal scene. Very
emotionally draining scene.

I got to do my own fight
scene with Art The Clown.

It wasn't performed, most of
it wasn't performed by Dave,

it was performed by
a stunt performer,

Bobby, who was incredible.

And it was choreographed
by Drew, who was our stunt

coordinator and we've worked
with him in Terrifi Fire too.

He's phenomenal. And
that was, I mean, first

of all, very fun

Seeing her like struggling
and screaming for her life

and battling Arthur the
Clown Sword versus Chainsaw.

It's a really epic scene.

And watching,

just watching her totally
enveloped by this character.

It's she, she blows the roof
off of the, of the scene.

I can't wait for
people to see that.

I really hope that everyone
enjoys like the storyline

as well as the effects.

All of it is, you know, just,
there's so much hard work

and so much detail into
every ounce of the film.

There's a lot of
underlying themes involved

and which allows a continuation

of the story for years to come.

So we're excited and we
hope the fans are too.

I I hope they,
they take away the

joy that I

as a child would get
from watching the icons

that came before.

Like, I, I want them to
have that same excitement

as we did growing up watching
Freddy Krueger and Jason

and Michael Myers and Chucky,

because I feel like that's
kind of been lost in the past

Decade or so.

If they have half as much
fun as we had making this

or making the second one
even just being together

and getting the ledger of
working with this team,

if they could have that much

fun, then we did something right

Before I started being
a guest at conventions.

I used to frequent
conventions as a fan

and I always wanted to be on

that other side
of it all one day.

That was always a goal of mine.

I wanted to be, I wanted
to be on a panel one day.

It, it really is
a dream come true.

It's the greatest
feeling in the world.

It, it really, it
really sinks in.

When, when I'm at a convention
and someone comes up to me

and they just express how
much the character means

to them on levels
that are unimaginable.

Like people will, they, you
know, they've met their wives

or husbands, they've
bonded over this film

and then they've gotten married.

I love meeting people.

I love the support for
Tar Fire, especially

because I'm a fan
of horror myself

and I grew up going
to horror conventions

and now I'm signing at them.

They showed
tattoos all the time.

I mean, when you're
putting, you know,

permanent ink into your body,
you know, with my character

that's the greatest
honor imaginable.

So this little 7-year-old
Damien especially was just

screaming with joy that, you
know, that it kind of paid off,

especially for my mother who
I tortured my entire life.

A few of us had
done the convention circuit, met fans and,

and started to really
understand, oh,

this is is really
affecting people.

But then two years
ago it went viral.

I was really excited to start
participating in conventions

because I, I was
excited to meet people.

I, I love horror and
I love spooky things.

So I knew I was going
to horror conventions.

I knew that I would get to
visit these really cool tables

with really interesting
artists and their work.

If a fan comes over to
me, I, I talk, I'll talk

for 20 minutes, I'll
talk for an hour.

Same thing with Damien.

Anybody ever cosplay
is one of my characters

that would just make me so happy

because I know as a cast
player what that means.

Because that's, you, you
love that character so much

that you're like, I I
want to go out in public

and dresses him I
and act like him

because that's why I really
enjoy about these cos players.

They, they commit, they
commit to the character.

They just don't
come up to me, Hey

and man, how are you
doing and all that.

They come up to me as art

and do all the pantomime
and play around.

And I'm like, I
love to see that.

But I didn't realize how many

fans loved Sienna

and that they did in Indeed
find strength in her story.

I, I've had so many
conversations with

so many wonderful people who
have come up to me like crying

and shaking that they've had
similar experiences to Sienna.

They've lost a family
member, sometimes a parent

who they loved very much

and they found strength
in Sienna's story

and overcoming whatever
hardships in their own life.

I'm so thankful

for the horror community
being this awesome

and the success from Terra
Fire two in Terra Fire

Three.

It's all word of mouth
connecting with another human.

That's whole reason
I became an actor was

to help people feel less alone

because that's what television

and film did for me growing up.

It, it helped me have a better
understanding of the world

and it helped me
relate to stories

that were different than
mine and similar to mine.

We're all just feeling
really lucky and grateful

and especially grateful to the
fans and all the supporters

and all the people who
came in very early on

and believed in the film and
really went to bat for it.

So still, I don't think
I'll ever process it

When I see children dress as
art, first of all, I'm like,

first of all I'm like, your
parents let you see this.

But at the same, same
time it was like, yeah,

but when I was a kid we
were all dressing up like

Michael Myers and Jason Freddy
and Chucky for Halloween.

So to see children
now dressing up as art

or the Pale Girl for Halloween

or Sienna, that, that, I
think that's pretty cool

That I get to see firsthand

and hear firsthand from these
strangers from all over the

place that how Sienna

or just the film in general has

touched them and helped them.

And it, it really
invigorates me and,

and makes me excited
to make more work

because that's the dream.

It's the dream to
connect with others

and have my work
connect with others.

When I'm doing the conventions

and I do the photo ops, I
like to do the true art,

the clown experience
with people.

So the moment I
walk out of the room

where I'm doing my makeup,
I am in character is art.

So I, I am messing with people

and it's, I, I especially
love it when it's people not

necessarily there
for the convention.

They're just staying in
the hotel that I'm at

and just getting the
real reactions when people don't expect

they get in the
elevator with me.

I I had one time
just a cleaning lady

that got in the elevator
with me and she looks at me

and she just starts praying
to herself in like Spanish

and she, she had like,
hit a different floor

that she's gonna
get out and the door

just opens up another phone.

She's, no just me. I really
just, I love those type

of moments just to interact
with the public in that way.

You get some great moments,
everyone fall back,

repeat, fall back.

I think Art's Visual
aesthetic really is largely

responsible for the success.

I'm amazed at how
many people are into

It.

I I think the, the, what the
fans really enjoy about him

that, that I really
like to bring

to the character
is his playfulness.

I'm honored and
humbled to just be a part

of this great team
and to be a part

of this great franchise
and he's doing these

Horrible things, but at the
same time it's entertaining

for the audience as well.

And so I I think that also
helps us get away with a lot

of the things we
do in our films.

'cause if it it, it didn't
have any of that levity there,

I think people would
wanna slit their wrists.

- All right. Set. Are we
- Ready? Yep. And 3, 2, 1, 5.

I really don't know
what the future holds

or what's gonna, what
opportunity's gonna come,

but I do see potentially
just one more film in this

franchise where I would
have a satisfying story

that I could step back
and, and be proud of.

In my opinion.
Terra Fire is, we're,

we're at the beginning
of a nine film, you know,

I think they'll be doing
Terra Fire films when I'm 80.

You know, I would love
to see Damien's vision

through whatever that is.

Whether it's Terra Fire
Four or Terra Fire 14.

As long as he's there,
I'll I'll be there.

I mean, unless he wants me
to direct one, I'll do that.

Hey, we,

we definitely at least wanna
do one more film with art.

We, we, I I think just the
ending for part three sets some

of that up there for you.

I really got to see
Art The Clown grow

and just become just a

horror icon.

It's, it's quite
amazing, honestly.

And I feel privileged

to be alongside Damien
creating the visuals

and making magic with
him on the screen.

It's really been a great process
throughout all the years.

And just wanna
see where it goes.

I mean, we'll just keep bringing
it up further and further

and then see where
we can take it.

Bravo Independent
Cinema and Bravo.

With all respect for everybody
who make other movies,

it's nice when, when
the independents,

you know, win a
weekend. It's good.

Okay. And action.

I would love to
see an opportunity

to work with Damien again.

And, and I've had many
conversations with him about

what he does next.

Where he goes from here even
when this franchise is over

or he decides to put
down Art the Clown

and go on to do other things.

What's that look like?
What's, what's that picture

that's being painted for Damien?

Because, you know, he's sort

of being a sought out
director in the horror genre.

I think there's definitely
gonna be a terrifi of four.

And then after that, I hope it
continues to, to five and six

and see where, see where it goes

and what Damien can
do with Arthur Clown

and see how his,
his story develops.

I'm looking forward to
what else they come up with.

And I think it's Nons stoppable.

If they, if they want
it to continue, it will.

And of course the fans,
the fans want more.

The greatest gift
has been to work

with all these individuals and,

and to work with people who
actually consider themselves

artists and, and really give
everything that they have.

It exists. I feel very
lucky to have that.

'cause you don't always
get that in the industry.

Hey, I, I'm glad
you saw the movie,

I'm glad you enjoyed it

and, you know, stick around

for whatever great stuff
Damien has next up his

very bloody sleeve.

But that doesn't
mean if I come up

with an idea years
down the line,

or I think there's another way

to inject something
fresh into the franchise.

I mean, I'll totally do it.

I love this character

and seeing what antic
he comes up with.

I wanna see more about art.

I wanna see the rest
of his backstory.

If I'm 70 years old

and I can still play
him, I'll still play him.

I, I, I love this guy.

I think there's always new
things to find to do with him.

Action. I would love to take
like the Chucky route with him

where, you know, they keep
finding new, new ways to take

that franchise in
new directions.

Woo.

Ah, and I'm really excited

for the future of
this franchise.

So let's bring on
Terra Fire four Your

Eyes.

I do. It's a pretty cool
ride. Seeing it's fun.

Don't get into all
that Blood and gore.

I'm more of a romcom guy.

Frankenstein, that's a
good movie. A classic.

I love art. He's such a,

a fun little mischievous
little bastard.

And I, I want to keep playing
him for as long as possible.

So I, I hope people
enjoy what we're doing.

Save sake.

Damien doesn't want
to cheat the audience.

And that's what makes
them special movies.
