Storm Eye

Episode 35

We didn't find any serious internal injuries on the patient.

The Outpatient Department has already taken care of some injuries.

The patient can basically be considered stable now,

but he still needs to be under observation.

Why isn't he conscious yet?

He suffered a hard blow to his head.

It's very troublesome. He may not regain consciousness.

Hence, we will do our best to contact his family members.

If we need to conduct surgery, we need their consent.

I understand. Thank you, doctor.

Don't mention it.

Sister Jing, what did the doctor say?

He said it's not very positive.

- Where is Du Meng's phone? - It's with me.

Find a way to contact his younger sister, and tell her to come immediately.

Don't tell his mother about this. His mother's not in good health.

What's wrong?

Du Meng got injured.

Injured?

What happened?

There was an accident during the operation. He's still in a coma.

Is he okay?

The doctor said he can't give any evaluation now.

- The doctor-- - Ma Shang!

- Yes. - Are you sleeping? A friend is here to see you!

I will be out soon.

If Du Meng has any new situation, be the first to notify me. I will find time to visit him.

You have suffered enough.

It's normal.

Working overtime is a common occurrence.

Auntie, stop being busy. I will leave after a short while.

Where are the fruits?

Don't. It's really fine.

Cheng Lei? What are you doing here?

How did you find my house?

As a computer engineer, it's not hard to find where you live.

That's right too.

Ma Shang,

I specifically came here to apologize.

I was rather harsh in my words that day. Sorry.

I hope you don't take it to heart--

Stop. This is in the past. You do not have to apologize.

To add further,

in fact, I can understand how you feel. I didn't take it to heart at all.

Let's move on. Don't bring this up again.

Fine. I admire your tolerance.

Come.

It has been several hours, and Du Meng is still in a coma.

He probably won't wake up.

Sit here quietly.

Who is she?

Du Ling. Du Meng's younger sister.

Hello, Mom.

Yes, I saw him. He's doing well.

How do you feel today?

That's good. I'm going back in a few days.

How is your mother's health?

Not too good.

My older brother said he will transfer her to the city in two days.

I'm so useless. I can't even make money to help my older brother.

Look at him now. What should I do?

Don't worry. We will help you think of a solution.

Xiao Ling.

Older brother, you are awake!

I will settle the family's matters. Don't trouble others.

Call the doctor.

I say, this guy. You are such a proud person that it seeped deep into your bones already.

If we didn't talk about this, you wouldn't wake up?

Here.

You resigned. What do you plan to do?

You are that concerned about me? Why don't you recommend a job for me?

Do I still have a job for you? You are a headhunter.

I need to find you if I want to change my job in the future.

I plan to go back to Beijing, and become a headhunter again.

Do you know a company has been wanting me to join them for a long time? I will be a director when I join them!

Moreover, the salary is not bad too.

Beijing?

Beijing is good. You will have lots more opportunities in the capital.

I think so too.

It's frustrating to be at home every day too.

Why not go out and work instead?

I will send you off on that day.

I'm leaving in the afternoon day after tomorrow. You don't need to see me off. Just focus on your work.

That's true. The traffic is convenient, so it is not difficult to meet.

I know where your family lives now.

I will often visit your home when I am not busy on weekends.

After all, your parents are old already.

No need.

I'm telling you, my dad and my mom are in good health.

Besides,

all my Shuangqing relatives can take care of them. Do not worry.

Yes. But you will be far away from home and will be busy with your career.

I'll have a look when I'm free.

I can't help it. Men have to be busy with their careers.

But I believe that I have the ability to take care of my family and my career.

You are so sure of yourself.

- Come. - Come.

Let's have a drink.

Cheers.

Sister Jing, I am still a little bit uneasy leaving my older brother alone in the hospital.

Didn't the doctor already say he was fine?

Do not worry, you've been worried here for a long time too.

He won't be able to rest well with you here.

Go back to rest early, and come back in the morning to see him again.

All right. Thank you, brothers and sisters then.

- Xiao Li, give her a lift. - All right.

Come with me. The car is downstairs.

Section Chief, Wang Zuo and I will go back first.

Let's go.

Come out. I saw you already.

Section Chief An has truly penetrating insight.

Stop with those meaningless words. What are you doing here so late?

I was concerned about Du Meng and came to see him. Is he all right?

He woke up already. The doctor said he is fine.

All right, I will go and see him then.

He made the ultimate sacrifice. I am sure the Bat did not find out it was him.

You still understand it best. Come with me.

It is so late in the night already. What are you doing here?

I heard you hit your head.

I have come to comfort you.

You're visiting the sick, and there are no flowers or fruits?

You are too insincere.

What time is it, eldest brother?

The fruit shops are closed. Next time...

If you fall again the next time, I will bring a full set with me when I visit you.

Go to hell. Wait till I get better.

When you escape death in a great calamity, a blessing will follow.

You will definitely get a promotion and a raise after this.

Can you take a smack with this blessing?

Seriously, it was way too dangerous for you all this time.

Next time, you must think of several plans and evacuation routes before you act.

What is it, why are you giving me a lecture on how to act so late at night?

I am worried about you.

After all, we are both brothers fighting side by side.

Moreover, if something happens to you,

An Jing will cry herself to death.

All right. I understand.

Let's make the matter between you and Sister Jing clear.

Are you two together?

Very well.

Be nice to our Sister Jing in the future.

Whatever she says is what she says. Only she can bully you.

You cannot bully her.

You are too biased!

We are both your comrades fighting side by side.

Nonsense! How many years have we been in this kind of relationship?

Fine, fine, fine.

You are the patient, you are my senior.

Why don't you call me brother-in-law Jing? Quick, quick, quick.

You brat, you are going to take advantage of every situation you can, huh?

- Sister Jing hasn't promised to marry you yet. - If she does not marry me, who will she marry then?

Who knows...

- You didn't drive here? - I came by taxi.

Cheng Lei asked me out for dinner, and I had couple of drinks with him.

What did he want from you?

He said he wanted to apologize to me.

He didn't have any access to the core data

after I put forward the suggestion of technical audit being fragmented.

We quarreled because of this.

You told me that.

But I always feel that this guy

is asking me from the side about what I'm going to do next.

Although he was the least-suspected person at Dinghua,

but he still was one of my suspects.

Moreover, so many things have happened in Dinghua,

and he still fell in love with Miao Lu.

Now apart from Professor Zou, he is the closest person to the technology.

But it's hard to say whether he meant it or not.

Everything is possible.

It's really hard to judge from the evidence we have now.

I, therefore, want you to play a game with me.

What game?

I told him that I would return to Beijing the day after tomorrow morning.

But only Cheng Lei knows when I will return to Beijing

besides my parents and you.

So when I go to the airport that day, send a team to follow me

and check if anyone is following me.

No problem. Leave it to me.

Master, let's go then.

Take me home.

You want to go on a date with me?

Then I will just reluctantly force myself to cooperate.

- Very reluctantly? - Yeah.

Did you get up?

Come in, dad.

You collected everything already.

Do you need any help?

No need. I am not a small child. I'm thirty, dad.

I will get everything ready myself.

Take this with you.

Mom made it for you.

These are my favorite baked potatoes.

They're very fragrant.

Dad, you are truly blessed!

Did you forget anything?

No. Do not worry.

Dad, is there something on your mind?

N-No. It's nothing.

Your mom is still busying herself in the kitchen. I will go and help her.

Come and eat when you are done.

Is it still not ready yet?

It's done, it's done. It will be done soon.

- Come. - You cooked so much food early in the morning...

Can we eat it all? I'll take it, I'll take it.

My son likes to eat my ribs best.

He didn't eat them several times when he came back this time.

Isn't he going back to Beijing? I just made him some more!

He won't be able to eat so much.

If he cannot eat it, than I will pack it for him to take it with him.

The plane is fast now anyway.

It will be enough to put it in the refrigerator when he gets off the plane.

Mom... you cooked so many dishes...

How can the three of us finish them all?

Eat up, eat up. Eat up without worry.

Your dad and I will finish everything later.

What... Let's eat together.

Yes, yes, yes. Let's eat together. Let's eat together.

Your mother made ribs for you early in the morning. Eat some more.

Thanks, mom.

Little pony, remember to

call us often after returning to Beijing.

Your dad and I know what kind of job you are doing...

I am afraid that I will disturb you at work

if I call you as I normally do.

Do not worry, I will come home often.

Then... is it convenient for you to leave us your address?

When I have some time, I will send you some dishes over.

Of course it is convenient!

But it's best to wait for the weather to cool down if you send it by post.

Otherwise, it may go bad on the road, right?

Yes, yes, yes. All right, all right.

- Come. - Come, come, come.

Eat some more.

It would be a lie to say

that we are not worried about you.

We know the importance of your work.

This was also your choice. We support you.

We are proud of you too.

I will stress again, you must pay attention to your safety.

Do not throw your weight about.

Your mom and I are in good health.

Do not worry too much about our family matters.

Dad... Dad, mom, do not worry.

I will take good care of myself.

Because it is a family relationship,

the city bureau will also take care of it here.

My dad has nothing to worry about here.

You should not always go by yourself and deliver goods.

You should let your men go.

Don't tire yourself out at your age!

Mom, I need to talk about you.

Me? What's wrong with me?

I have no objection to your being a security assistant,

but don't try to be brave either. Don't rush forward with everything!

You make my dad and I worry every day.

You talk as if i did not have a brain...

This... really...

You grew up...

It is you who does not have a brain, you...

All right, eat while it's hot.

Come, hurry and eat this. Eat some more.

Dad, mom, you do not have to send me off.

The car is waiting for me downstairs.

Go home.

Son... you must pay attention to your safety.

Do not worry.

Our son is a grownup. He'll take care of himself, won't he?

I am leaving.

- Did you order the taxi? - To the airport.

It's all right. Son will be fine.

Don't worry about it.

Who is worried?

I am telling you, you have to eat all the leftovers!

All right, all right. I will eat them all!

Section Chief, I still need some time to compare and sift through it.

It's best to let him retake it again and again.

This will not do.

If you continue to repeat this journey, the other party is likely to notice it.

Even if there is a stalker, we may never find this person again.

Let me try.

I am certain that there are no duplicate vehicles behind them.

- Hello? - Ma Shang, Cheng Lei did not come.

He went to work.

We've checked it already. There are no suspicious vehicles behind you.

I understand.

Section Chief An,

no suspicious person is found yet.

Several of them are not this flight's passengers,

but I've checked each of them. They are from the next flight.

Okay.

Let's wrap it up.

- For you. - Thanks.

Attention, passengers to Beijing,

your flight 8903

is about to take off.

Please board immediately at Gate 18.

Thank you.

How are you?

Here.

My new roommate is here!

- How are you? - How are you?

- Hello. - Hello.

How are the things in Beijing?

Couldn't be better.

Beijing Citiy Bureau gave a lot of help to our operation this time.

They investigated into

every passenger on this flight.

So far, they haven't found any problems.

Ma Shang.

Are you overthinking it this time?

In my mind,

it doesn't hurt to think through these things some more.

What Du Meng brought back, the hair DNA

and fingerprints, perfectly show

that it was Bat who appeared at the airport.

Your previous judgment all turned out to be correct.

What should we do next then?

Monitor Bat closely first. This guy hasn't left.

It means the other side hasn't given up.

Du Meng, how are you feeling?

I'm okay, but my head feels a little dizzy.

You should take a good rest.

Dinghua's project will be completed this month.

That's when

the final battle with our real enemy will take place.

Hello?

Hello, where are you?

What's up?

I need to see you.

Got a job for me?

Well, it certainly won't be idle chit chat.

Okay, I'll come see you now.

No, no, wait.

I will send you my new location later.

See you.

Translation and Timing carefully crafted by the Gone with the Shirt Team at viki.com

Have a seat.

Never thought I'd see you in a place like this.

Me too.

What happened?

Don't act like you don't know.

I only hope that you haven't exposed my position.

- Not yet. - Good.

Then tell me, how much do you know?

I know you've been doing dirty work for Hermes.

Also, I know that the Chinese government has something on Hermes

that can hurt them, they're putting on the pressure real hard.

Very good.

Then I'll just skip the explanation.

Just remember,

no matter how much they pay you to betray me,

I will pay double for your loyalty.

That's very generous.

So what's the mission?

My agent is executing a mission in China.

If successful,

I bet Hermes will not only treat me well

but also will beg me to sell.

What if you fail?

I will be turned into a scapegoat.

The worst case...

silence me in the process.

Listen, I want to help you

but I'm so unfamiliar with this case in China.

They are unfamiliar with you too,

which means you are in a safe position.

So don't worry.

Your going is just a precaution.

Who's your man?

You know him.

But,

he looks a bit different now.

Congratulations.

Likewise.

But frankly,

I've followed this project for a long time,

and I still haven't understood all of the basic technical principles.

The company has hidden or tucked away this information.

It seems that I've done a lot of work,

but it also seems that I haven't done anything?

I don't even know how to celebrate today.

You are so old-fashioned.

But I like it just the way you are.

Listen to me, you can go tell everyone now

that you are member of this project team.

You are even Professor Zou's special assistant.

Isn't this worth celebrating?

As for how much you participated in the project

or to what extent you were involved, nobody will care.

But to us technical people,

it's not meaningful, is it?

You don't understand this.

It's called "added value".

Hello, sorry to interrupt. Enjoy please.

- Thanks. - You're welcome.

Hurry and eat.

Sister, has the list of people accompanying the press conference been finalized yet?

It's been finalized.

Is Lao Cheng on it?

I was just about to tell you about it.

Cheng Lei is not in the list of accompanying personnel this time.

You should console him well.

Why isn't he there?

He is Professor Zou's special assistant!

No matter what, he contributed to the final stage of the project.

Don't throw such childish tantrums.

The company has its own considerations.

There should at least be a good reason, right?

This matter is complicated to talk about.

I can't explain it clearly to you.

But the company really regards Cheng Lei highly.

This matter doesn't hold any meaning,

that's why I told you to console him well.

I've said what I could say.

In the end, he isn't even allowed to go to the press conference,

what else can I say to him?

I will be counting on you.

Don't you have at least this bit of capability?

Okay, okay.

- I'm going then. - Go on.

Okay, I understand.

Dinghua has responded.

The list of entourage is based on our recommendation.

Let's see what we'll do next.

Good.

I've already contacted Danhe City Bureau.

They will fully assist our special investigation's mission.

I've looked at your detailed plan. It looks good.

But Ma Shang, do you think the other side will definitely make its move at this time?

It's because if they make their move at this time,

they will hold an absolute advantage.

First of all, we are conducting a cross-regional mission at this time.

That's right.

Even though it is fully-assisted by Danhe City Bureau this time,

it won't run as smoothly as in Shuangqing City.

That's right.

They definitely can see this.

Second, this technology expo

is the first time and one of the few opportunities for Dinghua to present their projects.

Perhaps for the next 10 or 20 years, Dinghua will lock this technology into their safe.

It won't ever see the daylight!

Once this technology is locked up,

don't forget that Dinghua is an enterprise with an international background.

The supervisory intensity will be even greater in the future.

That's why this opportunity is really hard to get.

If they don't grab it, it will be even more difficult to steal it later.

This mission has also lasted too long.

If it drags on, I don't think they can stand wasting time either.

I just got the alert.

Bat has booked a ticket to Danhe.

Alright then.

This matter is 100% certain.

I'd like to remind everyone of something.

In addition to capturing the existing targets for this case,

the most crucial is to lure out

the sleeper.

- Yes. - Yes.

She said the company has its own considerations.

There should be a good reason, right? This is too much.

It was you who talked me into it. Why are you angry?

Didn't you tell me

that all I get is "added value"?

Added value is also value.

I just don't think it makes any sense.

Let's... let's consider it as visiting the fruits of our labor.

Just because we're not on the company list,

it does not mean we can't go, right?

Can you really accept it?

I know you really want to go.

This project was initiated by your dad.

Now that it finally has come to this stage,

I'm sure you want to witness its flowering and fruiting moment with your sister.

Let us go and relieve our boredom then.

Really?

I can accept anything.

Didn't you tell me before that one can't be too honest?

I have transformed myself today.

I will not only go, but also sit in front of them and let them see that I, Cheng Lei, have come!

Yes, exactly! You just can't be scared at this time.

Since you do not take us to play, we will play by ourselves.

Do you have a problem seeing me come?

Exactly. We will go by ourselves.

Department Chief Song, is everything all right?

All goes well. What about your side?

Colleagues from Danhe City Bureau are already in the hotel room and in the venue.

The discovery of improper monitoring equipment indicates that the other party has already started to act.

Let's wait for Professor Zou to settle down, and we'll have a meeting together.

I understand.

Just a moment, please. We'll check the room first.

Is this necessary?

This is our job. Please wait a moment.

All right. Thank you.

Professor Zou, we will be on duty at your door 24 hours a day.

Please feel at ease. Just call us if you need anything.

All right. Thank you.

Seeing that you are so professional, we will also feel a little relieved.

- This technology is of great significance. Please be careful. - Rest assured.

Professor Zou, long time no see!

It's all right. This is a former colleague from our company. You do not need to stop him.

No... this... How do the matters stand? Why are you all so formal?

This is someone from a professional security company I hired.

- Hello. - Hello.

Xiao Ma, why are you here?

Did I not go to Beijing?

I am the director of

this headhunting company.

You are now the number one expert in this field in China.

If you ever would like to change your job, tell me your conditions and I can help you with all the arrangements.

How old am I? Would I leave my own trough to eat at another? (why would he change his stable job)

Ma Shang, at least for the sake of our working together,

do not harbor such thoughts just after you have left.

Talk first then.

- Professor Zou, how will you arrange everything tomorrow? - Come to your room for a meeting and bring Miao Fei with you.

I will be in the hotel tomorrow.

Minimize going out, and reduce potential safety hazards.

All right.

The inspection is finished. You can check in.

- All right, thank you. - You're welcome.

- See you tomorrow then. - See you tomorrow. Rest early.

Director Miao, do you have time to talk?

All right.

I'll ask you to work hard then.

It flashed.

- Are you cold? - I am not.

- Hello. Welcome. - Hello.

Hello.

You are all wet!

What are you looking at?

Are you not hungry? I suddenly became hungry.

Uh... go up and take a bath first. Don't stay chilled.

Take my ID card, and check in first.

Then... you...

I'll be right back.

- Hurry up. - All right. Tell me which room is it when you are done.

- Hello. - Hello.

Don't tell me this is just a coincidence.

Jeffrey thought you may need some help.

Where is Bat?

Relax! Jeffrey insisted I be in this, man.

He can't know your identity, much less meet you face to face.

When did you arrive?

Just today.

You guys coming will ruin my plan, you know that?

This is just business, man.

Jeffrey wanted me to tell you, he's giving you an ultimatum.

This is your last chance.

He won't make the same mistake twice.

Okay.

So where is the Batman?

Setting up the cameras in the hotel.

I see...

What? You have a problem?

No, nothing.

Speak up, spit it out, man.

You are trying to use them to distract the attention of NSS men, right?

Zhou... Qiao... now it's Bat.

Sacrificing men just for an opportunity,

isn't this what you really do?

Have you ever thought you will be next?

Maybe.

So how're you gonna get it?

It's not your business.

The more you know,

the more you will sacrifice me.

I am not an idiot like them.

Listen, I can turn a blind eye on this one,

but once you did it, you gotta give it to me straight away.

Let me remind you.

You know what we're capable of.

Better not be on the fence on this one.

Easy, man. I will give it to you.

Good night.

An Jing, tell me about finding the monitoring devices.

It was like this. We followed the Bat,

and found out that he behaved abnormally in hotels and venues.

After he left, colleagues from the Danhe City Bureau checked everything,

and found out that he stole the surveillance system of the whole venue.

He also installed an audio monitor in the hotel room.

How should we deal with it?

We will alert the venue security personnel to check the whole monitoring system

and change the monitoring route

before opening the park.

As for the hotel, we changed Professor Zou's room.

This way we can ruin Bat's whole monitoring plan

without disturbing him.

Good. You have done well.

Why do I feel that the other party's moves seem a bit reckless?

We cannot rule out that he is in fact just a cover for the hidden sleeper.

Miss Miao, you are Professor Zou's companion. Are there any special circumstances?

I did my best to observe everything on the road as you asked me to.

But I'm not a professional either. I haven't found anything unusual yet.

And all the people in the entourage except me

were sent by the state-owned enterprises after the reorganization of Dinghua.

I think there should be no problem.

Did you know that your sister also came to Danhe?

Miao Lu is here!
