Hey, check it out!
It's Dinosaur!
Man, he's always running off.
You looked kind of thirsty.
Thanks.
Let's go.
We'll be late.
Huh?
Late for what?
Alright, we made it.
What are you talking about?
I'm not seeing anything.
Just be patient.
Ten, nine, eight, seven, six, five, four, three, two, and one!
Wow!
See, the fountains are programmed to spout every two hours.
So what do you think, Rachel?
It's great.
Just consider this my present to you for winning the City Karate Championship.
I hope you enjoy it.
Aw, you're so sweet.
A rainbow!
Sweet.
Then how about we make a toast?
You're funny!
That's me, Jimmy Kudo, high school detective.
Not long ago, while enjoying a night at the amusement park with my best friend
Rachel, I witnessed something shady going down involving a pair of suspicious men
dressed in black.
I was so focused on what they were doing and what the transaction was about,
that I didn't notice one of them was sneaking up behind me.
He forced me to take an untested experimental poison.
And when I woke up...
My body had shrunk down to the size of a kid!
Taking Dr. Agosta's advice, I kept my identity a secret, believing that if the
creeps in black ever found out, they'd come after me to finish what they
started, placing my friends at risk in the process.
When Rachel pressed me for my name, I invented Conan Adagawa.
To gather clues about my attackers, I moved in with Rachel and her dad,
Detective Richard Moore.
But it turns out he's not the greatest gumshoe.
So tell us, what was the key to cracking this case, Detective?
Well, I guess I can't remember.
Yeah, that's par for the course for Richard, because I always knock the old
guy out with my wristwatch stun gun.
I also use my bowtie voice modulator to simulate any voice I choose, even Richard
Moore himself.
Of course, I need to mention it was Dr. Agosta who invented my gadget.
Hi, there.
He's always coming up with interesting gizmos like a solar powered skateboard,
GPS-enabled glasses, and my special sneakers.
Electromagnetic forces stimulate the muscles in my feet, making them much
stronger than normal.
However, Rachel and her dad still don't know who I really am.
The only people who know are Dr. Agosta, fellow high school detective Harley
Hartwell, and my classmate Vi Graythorn.
She originally worked with the men in black, but in order to escape from them,
she took the same poison that was given to me and shrank as well.
The black organization still remains a mystery, and this unnecessary deception is
driving a wedge between Rachel and myself.
Even though I may seem like a little kid, my mind remains sharp, and in the end,
one truth will prevail.
Wait, fountains?
We were standing in the middle.
Don't you remember the rainbow?
Oh yeah, I remember that.
She remembers the stupidest things.
Gosh, I hope we get a chance to go back there again someday.
It seems like such a long time ago, doesn't it?
We haven't been there together in forever.
Of course we haven't, because I've been a little kid since that day.
Geez.
So, when do you want to go?
Well, I don't know.
Do you think Conan's home yet?
I hope so.
Uh, Rachel, something just came up and I have to get off the phone now.
I'll call you back later.
See ya.
No!
Jimmy, hold on!
Oh great, what did I expect?
The jerk.
Oh, he makes me so angry!
This one's tough.
I don't think Conan will be able to figure it out.
I'm positive that he won't, and I can't wait to see it.
We're finally gonna get him!
I give up!
You beat me!
What are you three smiling about?
Oh, hi Conan!
Great timing, my man.
We were just headed over to your place to see if you were home.
We have a ridiculously hard riddle for you.
You'll never figure it out, Conan!
Riddle?
Yeah!
When Vi was asked what she thought of you, she simply looked at the moon and
answered, he's like the summer, and that's all she really had to say about
it.
So our question is this, number one, did Vi praise Conan?
Or two, did she mean to insult Conan?
Which is it, smart guy?
Let me think about it.
Let's see.
I've got it!
She was insulting me!
How'd you come up with that?
Six, seven, and eight are months of summer.
In Japanese, they form a phrase.
It says, there is nothing good about him.
Wow!
You're really smart, Conan!
Yeah, I didn't think you'd get this one.
So anyway, tell me why you were smiling earlier.
Only if you'll admit defeat.
Come on!
Let's cross!
Hold it!
You can't cross yet.
A blinking green light is the same as a yellow light.
Just wait until the next green and then you can cross, okay?
Okay!
Great, we got in trouble.
Yeah, but he's right.
We shouldn't have crossed.
Now I have a question for you guys, okay?
What do you suppose that man does to earn a living?
Uh, a school teacher?
I guess it could be a businessman, but he doesn't have a briefcase.
A restaurant owner, maybe?
Nope, he's a detective.
How do you know that?
When a detective needs to make a note about something important, they rotate
their notebooks to keep them organized.
Really cool!
You're so smart, Conan.
You know everything.
It's green!
We can cross now!
He shot the detective!
He's getting away!
Wait here!
Conan, be careful!
Call an ambulance!
Yeah, we're right on it!
No!
He got away!
Just hang in there, mister.
Do you know who shot you?
Approximately 2 p.m.
this afternoon in Baker Park intersection.
Assistant police detected someone outside of where he shot the killer.
The shooter fled the scene.
Police are now on a city-wide manner.
And a special task force has been brought in for the operation.
We'd appreciate it if you kids could tell us about this afternoon.
Did you happen to see the murderer?
I think it was a young man.
It wasn't a man, she was a pretty lady.
But I thought the killer was a middle-aged man.
Do you happen to remember if he was carrying an umbrella?
Yeah, it was black.
And by black he means green?
No, I'm pretty sure the umbrella was light blue.
Sounds like you three don't know what you saw.
How about you, Conan?
I think I remember that the raincoat and umbrella were a grayish color.
I don't remember the person's gender.
But I know they were holding the umbrella in their right hand.
Then that must mean he fired the gun with his left hand.
So the killer is left-handed.
Well, there's something I've been meaning to ask you, Inspector.
Do you know why the detective clutched his left chest just before he died?
We believe Narasawa was attempting to indicate the notebook that he carried in
his breast pocket.
We're currently combing through his notes to find any clues that might lead us to
the murderer.
Inspector, ballistics just came in and it seems like the cartridges found at the
scene were most likely from a 9mm automatic handgun.
What do you think?
Sounds like a common caliber.
So that doesn't exactly help us to narrow down the search, Chiba.
Well, I'm just happy that none of you got caught up in the middle of it.
You too, Conan.
Damn.
If the light hadn't turned red, then the murderer wouldn't have been able
to get away.
...
This is McGuire.
Oh, hi Richard.
Morning, Inspector.
I'm calling to see if you can tell me any more about last night's incident.
Not now.
I'm working on something.
Try calling back later.
Are you there, Inspector?
What happened?
I think he hung up on me.
Don't worry about it.
The Inspector's just been a little on edge lately, that's all.
I suppose so.
McGuire didn't seem like his normal self.
He sounded different somehow.
I want you to listen real good.
We're the only ones who can know about the incident.
Got it?
Don't tell anyone else about it.
Right, I understand.
Police have just issued a statement reporting that fingerprints found on the
bullet casings at both crime scenes are indeed a match.
This of course means that both murders were perpetrated by the same individual.
And now, for the weather.
A high-pressure system is moving in from the south...
Boy, Santos' sister couldn't have picked a worse day to hold her wedding reception.
I mean, talk about bad timing.
I feel just awful for that poor girl.
It couldn't be helped.
The reception had already been planned long in advance.
It's not her fault that these things keep happening.
And besides, it's not a wedding reception.
It's a celebration.
Didn't you read the sign?
The bride and groom's friends are the ones in charge of it.
Yeah, I know.
So tell me what this groom Corbin is like.
I haven't met the guy yet.
Apparently, he's a painter.
You should add struggling to the beginning of that.
Let's see.
Struggling painter, so I'm guessing there won't be a lot of single rich guys at this
party.
It's sad, really.
Your handwriting's as bad as ever.
Hi, Mom.
They invited you here, too?
Yes, I've been doing some work with Sarah.
She's an up-and-coming attorney.
Hi.
Wow, you have such beautiful handwriting.
Signing in separately?
They must want everyone to know they're not together anymore.
Can I check this?
No problem.
Here's your claim ticket.
Come on, Conan.
There are a ton of people here, and they don't all look like any...
Good.
I'll get to talk to the inspector.
You certainly can spot all the policemen in the crowd, can't you?
They're so gloomy, with menacing looks in their eyes.
Can't blame them.
This isn't exactly a good time for a party, after all that's happened lately.
But still, Detective Simone seems to be having fun, huh?
Tell me the truth.
Do you think I'm overdressed?
No, it looks amazing on you.
I mean, it's appropriate.
I think I see Osterman over there.
Excuse me, I'm gonna say hello.
Who?
Police Superintendent Osterman.
He was chief detective when your bonehead father worked for the department.
And he's the head of criminal investigations now.
And now, without further ado, I present to you the bride and groom.
Join me in welcoming the happy couple.
Wow!
Here's to a long and happy life together.
Moore?
Is that you?
Hey, congratulations!
Thank you very much, Richard.
I'd like you to meet someone.
This is Dr. Clemindale.
He's a psychiatrist at Baker Yakoshino Hospital.
It's a pleasure to meet you, sir.
Same here, pal.
My ex-wife Ava, daughter Rachel, and this is my moocher, Conan.
Hey, quit calling me a moocher.
So I hear that you've been seeing a psychiatrist, Santos.
I have.
This new management position has been pretty stressful.
I thought talking about it might help.
So far, so good.
You know, you could probably benefit from a session or two from him.
Moore, you should think about it.
You think so?
Well, actually, my memory's been a bit...
Hey!
Watch it, pal!
Geez!
I've heard enough out of you, little man.
Ouch!
I'll be back in two shakes.
Inspector.
How are you doing, Richard?
You got a minute?
We can talk?
No way.
I don't want to get into it here, all right?
Why is he keeping me out of the loop?
There must be something he's unwilling to share with you.
What are you hiding, Wilder?
I don't know anything.
Hey, Wilder, is it just my imagination, or do you have a bit of a crush on
Detective Simone?
That's interesting.
Maybe I'll just go share that information with the detective.
No!
Just wait!
Hold on!
All right.
Inspector McGuire told me to keep this information from the press, but when
Detective Sheffield died, he was also holding his police notebook.
What's that?
Then that means...
There's no use prying any further.
More, you don't need to know this information.
We're playing this one very close to the vest.
Don't need to know?
What's that supposed to mean?
And why won't they let me help out on this case?
Damn it!
Don't need to know.
I'm pretty sure that's a special phrase used amongst detectives.
So does this mean that the killer is someone inside the police department?
And if it is, it's probably not just anyone.
It has to be someone high-ranking.
Unless it means that the entire organization is involved.
He didn't do anything special with the proposal?
Sounds like you got jipped.
No.
He's not good at the romantic stuff.
Trust me, Sarah.
It's better when men hold back a little.
When they lay on the flattery too thick, it's unnecessary and can get really
annoying.
Oh, that reminds me.
There's something I've been meaning to ask you.
How did Dad ask you to marry him?
Was there anything special about the proposal?
Please don't make me relive that wretched occasion, darling.
No, please.
We want to hear all about it.
Oh, but I've forgotten all the details.
You're only playing dumb.
Just spit it out already.
Come on, we want to know how it happened.
Yeah, just tell us the story, Mother.
Well, I think he told me he loved me more than anyone else had ever met.
So silly.
No way.
That is so sweet!
Oh, luscious Jimmy.
I wish you'd say that to me.
Get that jealous flick off your face, Rach.
What are you talking about, Serena?
Geez.
Is there something wrong, Rachel?
Your face is red.
No, I'm fine, thanks.
Tobias, what are you doing here?
No one invited you, so I'd advise you to go before I have to call security.
Now, please leave.
Are you done?
I only came to this hotel because I have a meeting, all right?
That's Osterman's son, Tobias.
I hear that he's the lead guitarist in an underground rock band.
Hey, now, there's no need to get upset, Superintendent.
Let's all just enjoy the party, okay?
Get out of here.
I don't want you lurking around like the mangy dog you are.
What did you say?
Tobias!
Let go.
I'm out of here.
Tobias!
You know, I think I've seen that girl somewhere before.
Simone.
You're not safe.
I'll be fine, Inspector.
No, listen.
See you later.
Hey, wait!
Hi, I'm number 38.
Right.
Oh, hello there, Rachel.
Oh, hi, Miss Simone.
It seems like there's a really weird atmosphere at the party tonight.
Can you feel it?
Huh, I didn't notice it.
Hey, be careful on your way home, okay?
Why?
Well, I mean, the murderer's still out there targeting detectives, isn't he?
Oh, I'll be just fine.
I'm good at protecting myself.
What's this?
Whoa, what just happened?
I have no idea.
I'm gonna go have a look around, but you stay here, okay?
Detective Simone, look!
I found a flashlight!
Huh?
See?
Rachel, get down!
Please say something.
Why did I have to pick up that flashlight?
Are you all right?
Rachel's just unconscious.
She'll be okay, right?
Simone, damn it!
Please don't leave me, Simone!
What's going on?
McGuire, quick!
Call an ambulance!
And Santos, go and secure the perimeter around the hotel immediately!
Sir!
Hello!
I'm on the 15th floor of the Baker's Sun Plaza Hotel.
A woman has been shot.
Lynn, send an ambulance immediately!
It's out of bullets.
A nine millimeter automatic.
It's the same person.
But... why is there a flashlight?
Hurry!
Steal off all the exits!
All right, I want every single person in this room tested for traces of GSR.
And that includes each and every police officer in here.
And of course, this punk as well!
That guy's still here?
But... I don't see the other two strangers around anywhere.
Inspector McGuire, is there any update on Simone?
Well, the doctor told me that one of the bullets has gotten lodged near her heart.
And she only has a 50-50 chance of making it through.
Yes, but how is Rachel doing?
Luckily, she didn't suffer any serious injuries, but she is still unconscious.
She's down at the end of the hall over there.
I'm sure that Rachel is all right.
But I'm curious about that flashlight I found near the gun.
Could it have been...
So Santos, what's your report?
Well, we checked everyone for traces of gunpowder, but we didn't find anything
anywhere.
Really?
We're not exactly sure how, but we believe the shooter fled the building before we
managed to seal the exits.
Find any fingerprints?
No luck there either.
Hey, Chiba, did you manage to find out how the explosive device was rigged to blow?
I did.
The explosives we heard were triggered by an incoming cell phone call, and we're
currently following up on it.
But there's something I'm curious about, Inspector.
How did the flashlight end up on the floor?
Did it belong to Detective Simone, or was it there in the room beforehand?
It was in the room.
The doors beneath the bathroom sink were left wide open, which means the flashlight
was strategically placed there.
It was used as a marker.
It was?
How did you come up with that?
I see now.
And no one seemed to notice that it was even there when the lights were on.
Well, there isn't a single doubt in my mind that this is related to the other
incident, Inspector.
I see.
And what other incident would that be?
Uh, no comment.
You can't just blow me off, McGuire!
My daughter came within a heartbeat of losing her life back there, and I demand
some answers!
Richard!
Come quick!
Why?
What's going on?
Rachel's gained consciousness again, but she's acting like a mental case!
Rachel!
Are you alright?
Is there something wrong?
I'm sorry.
Who are you?
What's wrong?
Poor girl.
She can't even remember her own name.
And all the memories of us are gone from her mind as well.
That can't be.
I'm Richard Moore, and I'm your father.
And this is Ava Caden.
She's your mother!
I know you.
I'm sorry, I don't remember.
Why?
I'm sorry.
Dr. Clemindale?
I'm sorry to bother you like this, but there aren't any other psychiatrists
on duty at the hospital.
They told me you can't remember anything.
So you don't remember what happened earlier today at the party, then I assume.
I don't.
What's the capital of the United States?
Washington.
Good.
Now tell me what's five times eight?
Forty.
And would you mind clicking this ballpoint pen for me?
Retrograde amnesia?
That's right.
It's a type of memory disorder that leaves the sufferer unable to remember anything
prior to the infliction.
It's as if it never happened.
Make sense?
In your daughter's case, I believe she experienced a severe mental shock,
and this brought on the condition.
It must have happened because she saw Detective Simone shot before her very
eyes.
Doctor, can you tell me if my daughter's memory will return?
It's still too difficult to say at this point in time.
However, Rachel has retained all her knowledge about everyday life,
so that at least is a good sign.
That means there's still hope for her yet.
So are you saying that she'll be able to lead a normal life?
That's correct.
But just to be safe, I'd like to keep her here for observation for a few more days,
if you don't mind.
It seems only natural for Rachel to be shocked at the sight of someone she knew
dying right in front of her.
But she lost her memory.
That means that something so terrible would have had to happen to erase every
thought from her past.
What could have upset her that much?
It looks like Simone made it through her operation.
The doctors were able to remove the bullet, but they say that it's still hard
to tell if she's going to make it.
Right.
How can you keep quiet after all this when you know I can help you find the murderer?
And you're keeping it from me too, Santos!
Just tell me!
We're doing everything we can to find the person responsible for this.
Hey, did you buy any chance checks for fingerprints on the flashlight found in
the bathroom, Detective Chiba?
We did.
But when we looked, all we were able to find were Rachel's fingerprints.
We all assumed that it was Detective Simone who was holding the flashlight,
remember?
But now it appears that it was actually Rachel who was holding it when the
shooting occurred.
If so, then perhaps Rachel believes it was her fault Detective Simone was shot.
I mean, it does make sense.
But the shock from that was the trigger.
That explains it.
That's how she lost her memory.
Rachel...
Even if your memory never comes
back...
I'll tell you everything.
But you said we couldn't tell anyone.
It's okay.
If I get fired, I'll just open up a private detective business like more here.
Thank you, Inspector.
Wilder, stay here and keep an eye on Simone.
And Chiba, I want you to watch Rachel.
Don't let anyone but hospital staff into their rooms.
Got it?
Sir!
Late last summer, the body of Thomas Gino, a doctor at Toto University Hospital's
Department of Surgery, was found in his apartment.
He was 35 years old and very successful.
The investigation was then headed up by my superior, Chief Inspector Tomlinson.
And working with him were Narasau and Sheffield, who have recently been shot and
killed.
Simone was also working with them on the case.
One night, Mr. Gino drank a lot of alcohol and then cut his right jugular vein with a
scalpel.
He just bled out.
And the first person to find him was his sister, Tamiya, an investigative reporter
who lives in a neighboring town.
Richard, look at her picture!
Yeah, I saw her at the party.
And now I remember.
She was trying to hire me for a case a few months ago.
Huh?
She came to your office?
Do you happen to remember why she came to see you?
I may have been a bit intoxicated at the time, so my memory of the evening is a
little fuzzy.
I could give you broad strokes, but no specifics.
Well, I think I remember the incident with this Gino person.
Didn't the family of a former patient sue him for botching an operation which
eventually led to the patient's death?
That's right.
He left a final message on his laptop in which he apologized for his grave mistakes
as a surgeon, so Inspector Tomlinson naturally concluded that it was most
likely a suicide.
That's right, but his sister Tamiya strongly disagreed with that conclusion.
She said he was a terrible doctor who never cared about his patients.
He's not the type to apologize much less kill himself over anything, ever.
And a week before his death, she saw him arguing with a purple-haired young man
down in the warehouse district, and she thought that was suspicious enough
to warrant a further investigation into his death.
Purple hair?
Just to be sure, Inspector Tomlinson took Simone Narasawa and Sheffield down to the
warehouse to check things out.
It was a particularly hot day with the mercury topping out over a hundred
degrees.
I can't get in.
The door's locked.
Let's take the place out.
Sheffield, over there.
Sir.
I can't believe this heat.
Inspector, what's wrong?
It looks like he's having a heart attack.
Simone, call an ambulance now.
Right.
Don't!
Don't jeopardize the investigation.
I'm fine.
But...
Stay here.
You have to keep an eye on this place.
Don't worry about me.
But before long, Simone grew concerned and set out to look for him.
Inspector!
Simone took the inspector straight to Toto University Hospital.
However, moments after he was taken in, he passed away during surgery.
I wonder what's taking Simone so long.
Here he comes!
Damn, it's hot!
I'm sweating like a pig out here, man.
Let's move in.
Wait.
Hold on.
You know who that kid is?
Huh?
He's Superintendent Osterman's son.
That's Tobias!
After Inspector Tomlinson's sudden death, the case was closed, and Thomas Geno's
death was officially listed on the books.
They reported his death as a suicide.
Geno's sister, Tamiya, attempted to run a background check on Tobias, but Detective
Sheffield told her that he wasn't relevant enough to the case.
Really?
I never heard about any of that.
Incidentally, Inspector Tomlinson is survived by his son, Michael.
I think I remember seeing that guy at the party earlier.
Uh-huh.
He didn't stay very long, though.
You think he might be in on this?
Possibly.
He's still upset about his death.
I don't understand why you didn't think to call an ambulance.
My father would still be here with us today if you had just made that call,
damn it!
We were just following your orders.
You're all responsible for his death, and I'll never forgive you for what you've
done.
Here you go, Conan.
Thanks, Inspector.
Shortly after all of this happened, Detectives Narasawa and Sheffield were
both transferred.
Simone ended up staying around here, and Santos noticed that she had been doing
some work on a project on the side and was trying to keep it quiet.
She, Detective Narasawa, and Detective Sheffield took it upon themselves to
resume the investigation and reopen the case that was closed for over a year.
Simone wasn't aware of the link between Tobias and Geno.
That is until she reopened the case.
Soon after he started to look into it, Detective Narasawa was shot and killed.
Then after Detective Sheffield was murdered as well, we realized that they
were targeted because of the case they had reopened.
By studying both of their notebooks, we were able to determine that their
killer had a link to the police.
After that, Detective Wilder was assigned to investigate the inspector's son,
Michael Tomlinson, and at the same time, I was assigned to investigate the
superintendent's son, Tobias.
I knew there was a good chance that Simone would be targeted by the killer next.
So I asked her not to go anywhere without an armed guard, but she declined.
No, listen!
I'll be fine, Inspector.
And is that what you were talking to her about when you approached her at the party
earlier that night?
It was.
I think I've cracked the case, Inspector!
The killer is Tobias Osterman!
Detective Narasawa, Sheffield, and Simone had started to reinvestigate
the case from last year, so Tobias decided to silence them once and for all.
But there's no... no way that Tobias is the one who shot Simone.
Because his gunpowder test came back negative.
Oh, I see.
I'm more interested in Michael.
He's the one we haven't been able to find yet.
We have witnesses who reported seeing him in the area where Narasawa and Sheffield
were murdered.
And he was at the party as well.
He may be our prime suspect.
But we still have to take into account the fact that the killer is left-handed.
Wait!
I'm almost sure Michael Tomlinson is left-handed!
Well, put him on the wanted list and let's bring him in!
Excuse me, Inspector, but how exactly was this Jeno person's jugular vein severed?
Well, let me see.
It was on the right side, straight down, one cut, from top to bottom.
Which means that this couldn't be a case of suicide.
Then Jeno's killer would have been left-handed as well.
Oh, how'd you come up with that short stuff?
Well...
I believe I can explain that one.
Let me show you.
The killer cut him like this to avoid being covered in blood.
Conan, am I right?
Yeah.
Makes sense, but there doesn't seem to be any connection between Jeno and Michael
Tomlinson.
If Jeno were actually murdered, then I'm almost positive that it was by a
different left-handed killer.
I think Tobias is left-handed too.
I saw him light a match earlier.
Yes, but that's not all.
His father, Superintendent Osterman, is also left-handed.
Alright, that's just stupid.
He couldn't possibly be the killer.
Am I right?
And these are my friends, George Kaminsky, Mitch Tennyson, and Bye Great Thorn.
We're all good friends of Conan's, and we came here because we thought we
might be able to help you get your memory back.
Thanks for coming.
But I'm sorry, I just don't remember any of you.
Oh no!
Say it isn't so!
So you don't remember playing with us at all?
Do you not remember me either, Rachel?
I'm Doctor of Garcer.
Well then, here's a little refresher for you.
I'm the brilliant scientist who lives next door to your childhood friend and
classmate, Jimmy Kudo.
Jimmy Kudo... Jimmy...
What is it?
Does that name sound familiar?
Mm-mm.
Afraid not.
Oh... I see.
Vi, is something wrong?
Maybe.
I get the feeling someone's watching us.
Guess not.
I don't know why I'm feeling so sleepy.
You'll be okay.
Just get some rest.
Who's there?
Damn!
Hey, what was that for?
I was just curious what you think the chances are that Rachel saw the killer's
face when Detective Simone was shot the other night.
Why is that?
If she did, then it's possible that the killer might be looking for her at this
very moment.
Where have you guys been?
Checking the perimeter.
Now Wilder and Chiba will take turns guarding Rachel's room.
Where is she?
Resting.
I'll take you if you'd like.
Good.
Let's go.
Excuse me, ma'am.
Yes?
If you have a minute, Dr. Clemendale would like to talk to you about your daughter's
progress so far.
Fortunately, the MRI scan shows no sign of physical damage to your daughter's brain.
It appears as if your daughter's amnesia occurred as some way to protect her from a
kind of mental trauma.
So is there any way that if we take her back to the hotel and recreate the
incident, she'll somehow regain her memory, doctor?
What are you talking about, Richard?
Recreating the incident could worsen her condition and put her into a catatonic
state.
It sounds to me like you don't really care if our daughter ever gets her memory back
or not.
No, I just don't want to cause any more unnecessary damage.
Let's calm down.
It's true, forcing her to relive the moment could have serious adverse effects
on her psyche.
Yeah.
Told you.
Hmm...
Sorry.
Hello?
Yes, this is Clemindale.
Okay, then I'll be sure to give him a call immediately.
Thank you.
If Rachel did see the killer space, she's in serious danger.
Unless we can restore her memory and catch the person first.
But just like the doctor said, we can't force her to remember.
I'll just have to try and protect Rachel myself.
Huh?
No answer.
I'm sorry about that.
So, are there any other natural methods we could try to help restore her memory?
I suppose there have been tests that show a link between memory recall and extreme
states of relaxation.
I understand.
So the best thing for her would be for me to move into your office.
What?
That way I'll be able to take good care of her and help her to relax during her
convalescence.
Tell me you're joking, because I don't know if I can take the stress.
I assure you I'm only doing this for Rachel's sake.
And as for you, Richard, just back off.
This doesn't look good.
Now I want you to take it easy and make sure to get lots of rest.
Okay, Rachel?
Do you understand that?
Yes, sir.
Good.
And feel free to give me a call if you need anything at all.
I mean that.
Thanks, doctor.
We're getting close to home.
This is the neighborhood you grew up in.
Do you recognize it?
This is it.
Welcome home, Rachel.
The Moore Detective Agency.
Here you go.
What's the matter?
I think that the puddle may have upset her.
There was a lot of standing water in the room when Detective Simone was shot.
Would you mind pulling the car up a little bit?
Not a problem, sir.
The offices are on the second floor, and that's my desk where I solve my most
difficult cases.
All you do at that desk is drink beer and watch TV.
The living room and kitchen are up here on the third floor.
And now let me show you to your bedroom.
His name is Jimmy Kudo.
He's a real cocky little jerk who's only interested in seducing you.
Trust me.
Who's cocky?
And I'm not trying to seduce anyone.
That's your karate uniform.
Do you remember it?
I know karate?
You won the citywide high school championship.
Do you remember?
I don't.
I see.
Oh, but you shouldn't worry about it.
I'm sure my memory will come back soon.
Well then, let's get something to eat.
We should celebrate the fact that Rachel's back home from the hospital.
Oh, if that's the case, then maybe I'll whip something up for old time's sake.
Hey, what just happened?
Are you okay?
What are you, nuts?
You can't cook.
Yeah, suddenly I'm not feeling so hungry.
Come on, Conan.
A growing boy needs to eat.
I'll make you my extra special super yummy beef and beet stew.
If I remember correctly, that's your favorite, isn't it?
No, not really.
And just where do you think you're going?
Well, I completely forgot that I promised to play mahjong with the neighbors tonight
and I don't want to let them down, you know.
This is no time for mahjong.
Your daughter needs you to be by her side right now.
Oh, I think I get it now.
You're just trying to get out of eating my cooking, aren't you?
I'm glad Rachel is keeping her spirits up.
I'm sure she'll make it through this.
Rachel.
Wait, what do you mean?
Bodyguards?
Yeah, because we heard from Detective Wilder that a killer might be coming after
you next.
So the Junior Detective League has decided to stay here and keep watch over you until
he's caught.
We call ourselves...
The Rachel Moore Protection Squad!
Oh, geez.
I brought a squirt gun that's filled to the brim with hot sauce.
And I brought a boomerang.
And I got handcuffs!
Oh, come on, you guys.
You know those toys aren't going to stop a killer.
I feel much safer.
Thank you all for watching after me.
How about some ice cream as payment for your protection?
What do you say?
Awesome!
Ice cream!
I guess she still can't remember, huh?
No.
Don't take this the wrong way, but I think it might actually be better
for both of you if her memory never comes back.
Because then you could stop stressing out about her finding out who you really are
all the time.
What are you trying to say, Vi?
It's just... I would love to be able to do that.
To erase some of my memories.
I'd forget all about my sister's murder.
And the day I joined the organization and created that damn poison.
Think how amazing it would be if we could forget everything bad that has ever
happened to us and just be.
Just start over again.
Then maybe...
You and I could finally be together.
That's all I've ever wanted, Conan.
Vi, are you serious?
Just kidding.
You fell for it, didn't you?
Hey there, squirt!
So is this your new girlfriend?
In this day just keeps getting better.
See?
These are pictures from the city karate tournament.
You won, you know.
Don't you remember any of it?
Then who is he?
Oh, that guy's Jimmy Kudo.
He's kind of like your boyfriend.
I'm not her boyfriend.
It looks like he's familiar to her.
Do you remember him, Rachel?
But I...
What?
Well, it's just that I... I feel sort of nostalgic for some reason.
But I can't quite put my finger on why.
Maybe her memory will come back if she just sees Jimmy.
Yeah, let's get him over here.
Oh, right.
Let me just snap my fingers and make him appear.
Why isn't he here?
He's famous for being able to solve even the toughest cases.
And we sure could use his help.
Yeah, we could.
But that guy's like the cops.
I mean, you need him and he's nowhere to be seen.
Yes?
I'm out of the bath now.
It's all yours.
Thank you, Conan.
Hey, you think maybe you could tell me a little about Jimmy Kudo?
Let me see.
I don't know him all that well, but from what I've picked up, you seem to
be the most important person in the world to him.
I could tell, even though he never came out and said it.
He sounds like a nice guy.
I'd like to meet him someday.
Hey, are you feeling better today?
Uh-huh.
I was thinking maybe we could go shopping together tomorrow.
I know I could use some retail therapy.
How about you, Conan?
Uh-huh.
Are you all right there, miss?
Simone, damn it!
Please don't leave me, Simone!
That was a close one.
Thank you.
Damn!
Here it comes.
Rachel!
It's okay.
He just gave her a sedative to calm her.
But why?
Is she all right?
Just a few scratches, thankfully.
But still, I'm afraid this incident might actually worsen her condition.
It's possible that her memories may become even more repressed now.
Great!
How could you let this happen, Wilder?
Where were you?
I'm sorry.
Now we know for sure.
There's no doubt Rachel saw the killer's face.
Otherwise, he never would have taken the risk to get to her.
All right, Wilder, our top priority is keeping Rachel safe.
Sir.
Keeping her safe isn't enough.
We have to go on the offensive.
After Detective Simone's murder, none of the party-goers tested positive
for traces of gunpowder.
Is it possible to fire a gun and leave no traces on your fingers?
Wait a minute.
If I remember correctly, that umbrella was buttoned up.
And then after the incident, it was not only unbuttoned, but in a different
location, too.
And then after Rachel left the hospital...
Could it be?
So then that was your umbrella, the clear one?
Yes.
Do you happen to know where it might be?
Sorry.
I threw it out because it had a hole in it.
Was it expensive?
I should have figured.
I waited too long.
Just kidding.
I saved it.
I really fooled you though, didn't I?
Funny.
Thanks!
Just as I thought.
This is how he fired the gun without leaving any gunpowder traces.
And now it's not just Michael Tomlinson and Tamiya Jeno that we have to worry
about.
Now Tobias, and everyone at the party for that matter, are suspects.
This is it.
Oh, I see.
It all makes sense.
Tamiya was at the party because she was tailing Tobias.
I bet you are.
What's that?
I'm going to prove that you murdered my brother and those three detectives,
even if it takes the rest of my natural life, Tobias!
You're trying to entrap him, aren't you?
If I'm not mistaken, you're Tomlinson Jeno's sister, Tamiya.
Am I right?
You found out that Tobias had a heated argument with your brother just before he
died.
And that he was never interrogated because he's the police superintendent's son.
Upset you a little, didn't it?
Who are you?
Tell me.
Conan Adagawa.
A detective.
No way.
You're not.
I am.
And I believe that if you love your brother as much as you say you do,
you might be harboring a grudge against the detectives who ruled his death a
suicide and moved on.
No, it's because I despised my brother.
I'm only following up on the investigation because I think the truth should finally
be told.
Okay, then how about we take a risk and raid the enemy's home base?
What do you say?
He's using an E.I.D.O.
technique.
Wow.
Tamaya Jinnoh, is that right?
I'm glad you're here because I have something for you.
For me, are you sure?
I found it a month ago in my son Tobias' bedroom.
T.
Jinnoh.
This was my brother's?
That's correct.
And I remembered the name from Inspector Tomlinson's previous investigation.
I thought it was a little odd that my son had something that belonged to your
brother, and that's why I confronted him.
When I asked him about it, he eventually confessed that he had learned Thomas was
selling some illegal drugs on the side.
Tobias then blackmailed your brother.
That's how he got this.
Later, when I looked into the case, I realized that Tobias wasn't in any of
the investigative documents at all.
So I went to Detective Narasawa and ordered him to reopen the file on your
brother's suicide case.
Are you saying that you told the detectives to reopen the case and
investigate your own son?
That's right.
And then after Detective Narasawa was shot, Inspector Maguire took over on the
case.
But I heard Detective Narasawa reopened the case on his own accord.
If so, then you could have killed him so he wouldn't find out about your son's
connection to Thomas.
As you've astutely pointed out, young man, I guess I do have a motive for
killing all three detectives.
Well, if you're really serious about solving the case, then let me see the
investigative documents.
Oh, that's ridiculous.
Those documents are for police purposes only.
I can't just give them out to anyone.
Memoriesh memory.
At least you still have your assets.
Thanks.
The doctor said I'm okay to leave now.
Hey, Serena.
Aw, you don't have to thank me for being such a great friend.
Will you tell me what all you know about Conan?
What?
It's just that he... he put himself in danger to save me, you know?
Oh, I don't know.
I mean, yeah, he's smarter than your average ankle-biter.
Other than the brains, though, he's just like the rest of them.
And, well, honestly, I think the kids' snotty, loudmouth know it all.
Tropical Land's new island of wild and ancient times attraction will undoubtedly
thrill patrons young and old alike.
I've been there.
I recognize that place.
Yeah, that's Tropical Land.
Hey, you and Jimmy went there one time together on something that neither of you
called a date.
Everything looks good.
I think you may be getting closer to regaining your memory, Rachel.
Doctor, then do you think we might be able to trigger something if we took her back
to Tropical Land?
Hmm, I suppose it could be a possibility.
Then I want to go there tomorrow morning and see.
I'm sorry.
I have to say I don't like this idea.
You'd be leaving yourself up into another attack.
I just want to make sure you're safe.
I don't want anything to happen to you, dear.
To be honest, I'm kind of scared too, Mom.
I mean, I don't even know if I want to remember what happened to me.
But I have to try so that we can get this killer off the streets.
Because I don't want to give him the chance to hurt anybody else.
Rachel...
Well, then, you certainly are quite courageous, aren't you?
I'm perfectly confident that you'll be able to handle whatever might happen there
at Tropical Land.
Fine.
Then could you at least wait one more day, please?
I have to go to work tomorrow and I can't go with you, so...
Don't worry.
I'll go with her.
And I'm going to put my life on the line to protect her.
Oh, Richard.
Hey, do you care if I come along?
No, of course not.
But, um, do you guys mind not telling Conan for now?
Hmm?
It's just if we tell him what we're doing, I'm sure he's going to want to come along
with us.
And I... I want him to be as far away from the danger as possible, is all.
I understand.
The sun sure sets quickly these days, doesn't it?
Yeah.
Hey, Conan, if you want to see the investigation documents, I managed to snag
a copy.
Really?
I am an investigative reporter.
I'll let you check them out first thing in the morning.
There he goes.
Little turd doesn't have a clue.
Then I guess that means it's time for us to go.
That and the Rachel Moore protection squad is on the job!
Where's Conan?
Do you think maybe they told him to meet them there?
I hope not, because now we'll get a chance to crack the case for once.
Now listen up.
I want you kids to be very careful.
I want you to follow that car.
Hurry!
Well then, can you tell me what you make of it, detective?
This notebook Detective Sheffield is holding.
Is there something questionable about it?
If he had pulled it out of his breast pocket himself, then wouldn't the notebook
be facing the other direction?
So it's like this, then you pull it out of the pocket.
You're right.
Then the killer may have pulled out the notebook, and not detective Sheffield like
we originally thought.
Well, yeah, I suppose.
I mean, anything's possible.
Wait!
I'll prove you murdered him!
I thought that you were right-handed, Tamaya.
I am, but originally I was left-handed.
Then my teachers forced me to start using my right hand.
Now sometimes when I'm not thinking about it, I just automatically go back to using
my left hand.
Isn't that the funniest thing?
You automatically switch back.
Come to think of it, back then...
Wait a minute.
Does that mean...
Could it be...
Is that what it meant?
Someone told me that your brother worked at Total University Hospital.
Is that correct?
That's right.
He did.
I'm sorry to cut this short, Conan, but I've gotta go.
Thanks for all your help.
Tropical land, please.
I think I do remember this.
You came here with Jimmy one time.
He solved a murder involving a man who was killed on a roller coaster that you two
were riding that day.
Let's ride it.
It could trigger some memories.
And if nothing else, we'll get to Puke, right?
Let's see here.
Looks like we'll find the mystery coaster on the island of mystery and fantasy.
You two sit up front.
That's really funny.
Sounds like something Conan Doyle would say.
What?
Look!
There's Rachel and the others!
I wanna ride the roller coaster.
What the heck are you talking about, George?
We have to use this time wisely to search out any suspicious-looking individuals.
Yes!
Let's go!
Right!
Well now, I thought Detective Moore was afraid of heights.
What's he doing all the way up there?
I want...
Come on!
Uh-oh.
How you doing?
Are you alright?
Hey, do you want a soda?
Sure.
Done.
Oh, man.
What jackass invented roller coasters anyway?
You look thirsty.
Rachel, your drink.
Oh, thanks, Serena.
So you're Jimmy Kudo.
I still can't remember who you are.
Excuse me, Moore, but I need to go use the bathroom real quick.
The balloons are flying away!
Get
away from her now!
Stop!
Children, leave!
You're Michael Tomlinson, aren't you?
Hey!
It's a knife.
Uh, no!
Wait!
Uh, hey!
Michael Tomlinson, you are under arrest for attempted murder.
Alright!
The rate of our project is twice the speed!
Don't take that!
Is that all of you stupid evil-doers out there?
I'm going to take him down to headquarters for some questioning.
Wait up.
I'll go too.
You have to believe me!
I didn't do it!
You don't have to worry about being attacked now.
I'm going to take off, but maybe you should stay here to see if you remember
anything.
Oh, thanks, Dad.
It's okay.
You don't have to call me that until you can remember everything.
I'd like to thank you all for your excellent work.
You saved Rachel from being attacked.
He said we're excellent.
A great detective.
That means he just complimented us.
Alright!
Now it's time to have some fun!
Yay!
I want to go see the purvey!
We can snuggle the park closes, can't we?
Sure thing, kids.
I guess that you can consider this your reward for solving the case.
Yay!
I have to wonder... is it really over?
Hey, Rachel, let's go check out the Devil's Laboratory.
It'll be fun!
I know you!
You're the famous Richard Moore's assistant, aren't you, little boy?
Uh, yeah.
Oh, goody.
Then if I agree to help you out, will you promise to get him to sign an
autograph for me?
And one for me, too?
You got it.
I can give you as many of that old guy's autographs as you want.
Now about Dr. Gino... I know it's not nice to say, but he always gave me the creeps.
Yeah, me too.
I always picked up a bad vibe off of that guy.
And don't forget the fact that he botched an awful lot of surgeries.
Hey, listen.
You remember that heart attack patient that was brought in a little over a year
ago?
I heard that Dr. Gino cut the other doctor's hand during the operation.
That's right!
And as a result of all of the commotion, the patient was left unattended to it.
He died!
Can you remember any more about that?
It's just as I thought.
I gotta tell the old man immediately.
This is the Moore Detective Agency.
The great Richard Moore is currently busy solving one of his many dangerous and
difficult cases.
Great.
Ava Caden, Law Office.
Hi, it's Conan.
Oh, hey, Conan.
How's it going?
I'm good.
Is Ava in?
No, I'm sorry.
She got out of trial and I think she left for tropical land a little over 30 minutes
ago.
Did you see tropical land?
That's right.
Apparently she's going to meet Rachel there.
Oh,
no!
Coming for you!
Is that better?
You think you'll be able to talk to us now?
I got a phone call from a man the other day.
He said he could tell me the truth about my father's death, and he told me to meet
him at an intersection in Baker.
I went, but the man never showed up and Detective Narasawa was shot just down the
street.
And then when I got home, I received yet another phone call from the same man.
This time, he wanted me to meet him at the Meadery-Dy-Mason Park apartments.
But again, he never showed up.
And Detective Sheffield was found in the basement parking lot shot just like
Narasawa.
That night, I stayed at a hotel.
And the next day, when I checked my messages, I had a new one from a woman
named Detective Simone.
And she told me to meet her at the Baker Sun Plaza Hotel.
She said she'd arrest me for murder if I didn't show up.
But when I went, the place was filled with police, so I left.
I didn't feel comfortable.
And that night, Simone, she was killed too.
So then why didn't you bring this information to the police earlier,
Michael?
Because, Detective, I can't trust the police, not after what happened to my
father.
I decided that I needed to ask Moore for his help, so I followed him and waited to
catch him away from the police.
So then what you're telling us is that you weren't approaching Rachel earlier today
at Tropical Land.
Right.
I only wanted to talk to Mr. Moore.
Then answer me this.
Why did you have a knife?
It's for protection.
I was worried that the killer might be planning to come after me next.
This is bad.
That means that this killer must still be out there somewhere.
And he must have a female conspirator with him as well.
Rachel!
She's in danger!
I think this is where it is.
Excuse me, is there anyone in the observatory?
I'm sorry, I think everyone's down watching the parade right now.
Thank you.
It's the land of ice and
fog!
Rachel, where are you?
Wait, George and the others!
I didn't know they were here too!
That must mean Rachel's nearby.
That's him!
Rachel!
Oh yeah, the detective badges!
George, Mitch, Amy, any of you!
Amy, can you read me?
Hello?
Read you loud and clear!
Hey, I bet you can't guess where we are right now, Conan!
We're watching the parade at Tropical Land and it's awesome!
I need you guys to listen to me closely now.
I spotted the killer in the crowd.
He has a gun and he's going after Rachel!
We have to tell her to make her way through the crowd and get out of Tropical
Land!
Are you guys listening to me?
Mitch!
There's a good party that's down!
Doctor!
Oh no...
I'm putting everyone around me in danger!
Rachel, don't leave!
The killer wants you separated from the crowd!
Did anyone happen to see where she went?
Rachel!
No!
Rachel's on the island of dreams and fairy tales.
How am I going to make it over there?
This could work!
Next group, please!
Stop!
There it is!
Oh!
Conan, it's you!
Yeah, I didn't mean to scare you, but we gotta go!
I need to get you somewhere safe and fast!
This way!
It doesn't matter to him what happens to anyone else.
He just wants Rachel dead.
Help!
We're being chased!
Hurry up and get in the boat!
Huh?
Hey,
when did you learn how to drive a boat, Conan?
My dad taught me when we were in Hawaii!
Well, I think we're safe now.
How about you?
Not yet!
Soda?
It's twenty minutes to nine.
It's just a little further.
Hang in there!
Great!
It looks like the killer has already caught up with us!
Rachel, you're gonna have to climb up there and hide behind the rocks!
Hurry!
Conan, what are you doing?
Hey there!
This place is closed, so nobody's here!
You can show yourself if you feel like it.
You're quite cautious.
But there's no point in hiding.
Because I figured out what Detective Narasawa's message really meant.
He didn't grab his left chest to indicate the police notebook.
He was indicating his heart.
One of the letters in the Japanese word for psychiatry is heart.
Very clever, Dr. Christian Clemendale!
Impressive.
Where did you figure it out?
My suspicions were first aroused when I saw which hand you used to dial the
telephone.
Right-handed people don't usually dial with their left hand.
Do they?
You are left-handed, aren't you, Doctor?
And you're observant.
That was careless of me, wasn't it?
Seven years ago, you were at Toto University Hospital.
You were their most promising young surgeon.
Until one day, during a late-night operation handled by you and Dr. Jeno,
he reached over and accidentally cut your left wrist with his scalpel.
Because of that accident, your so-called golden hand was ruined.
And because of your pride, you abandoned the scalpel and switched focus from
surgery to psychiatry.
Therefore, ever since that day, you've attempted to live your life as a
right-handed person, is that correct?
Exactly.
And I never would have thought that by simply dialing a telephone, I would have
given away my secret.
You transferred to Beki Yakushino Hospital as a psychiatrist, and something happened
between you and Jeno a little over a year ago.
I bumped into him, just by chance.
He invited me over for a drink at his apartment.
When drunk, I unleashed the suspicion that I had held in my heart for six years.
I asked him if the accident was really an accident.
And what if it wasn't, Christian?
What would you do?
He had done it on purpose, after all.
That's when the bloodlust arose.
Fortunately for me, he was being sued for a botched operation at the time,
so he had plenty of reasons to kill himself.
And just as I thought it would be, his death was ruled as a suicide.
But then you learned that the case was going to be reopened, isn't that right,
Doctor?
Yeah, I actually got that information from Detective Narasawa.
He had just transferred to the Beka Police Department, and the death of his partner
was a bit of a, well, understandably, a bit of a shock.
He came to me for counseling, and that's how I learned that Michael blamed the
police for his father's death.
Then you used Michael.
You killed the three detectives and lured him to the scene.
You used phone calls and almost got away with it.
Quite a cunning plan.
That's correct.
I used Michael as a decoy for the cops and the first two calls I made personally.
And then to properly mimic Simone.
I suppose you must have edited a recording of a female patient to get her to say what
she wanted.
Right?
Precisely.
And then I guess you must have heard that Detective Narasawa died while holding his
police notebook from Inspector Santos.
Well, of course I did.
I am his doctor, after all.
And then an attempt to implicate the detective's angry young son, Michael
Tomlinson.
You purposefully placed the notebook in Detective Sheffield's hand after he was
already dead.
I'm impressed you figured it out.
But you don't have any hard evidence to back this up, do you?
And they didn't find any gunpowder traces on me when Detective Simone was shot.
Well, if you would like, I can easily describe how you managed to do that.
You'll what?
I'll only explain after the police arrest you, of course.
This way!
He's gonna be waiting for us at that exit.
Where are we?
The main isle of the Island of Adventure and Frontier.
We passed under the ocean from that small island.
Really?
Let's go!
We still haven't finished our discussion.
Oh, great.
He must have used a boat to follow us.
I'm sorry, kids, but I can't let you reveal all this to the cops.
It would make me a prime suspect in the death of Detective Simone, you know.
Even if Rachel gives her testimony, you could still play innocent just as long
as there are no gunpowder traces, right?
That's right, Conan.
Because Rachel's testimony would be questionable at best.
Her memory really can't be trusted right now, can it?
But I'd love to hear your theory on how I didn't get gunpowder on my hands.
I'm sure you would.
I'd be happy to tell you.
First, after you turned off the power to the fifteenth floor, you put on a pair of
surgical gloves and took an umbrella that you had prepared in advance into the
ladies' room.
You made a hole near the tip of the umbrella ahead of time and then you stuck
your gun through that hole and fired.
In short, the umbrella protected you from the gunpowder and smoke.
That's why you didn't test positive for traces of gunpowder after the murder.
I'm assuming you must have flushed the surgical gloves down the toilet.
You're right.
That's exactly what I did.
And now it appears that I'm going to have to kill you two as well.
What do we do?
Tell me.
Why?
Why are you doing all of this to protect me?
I mean, why are you putting your life in danger?
It just doesn't make sense, Conan.
Alright, I'll tell you.
It's because I love you, Rachel.
More than anyone.
I hope you know that.
Take a deep breath, Rachel.
Do it!
Thank you.
Mr. Detective.
Damn!
Forty-six seconds.
Get down!
How about we end this right here and now, Conan?
What do you say?
You've got nowhere left to run, and I'll make it quick.
The bullet just grazed my arm a little.
There's no place left here to run.
But if you kill Rachel now, then Michael Tomlinson will be proven innocent,
and all your work will be for nothing, right?
I was hoping to deal with Michael before he was arrested, but it's too late for
that.
How unfortunate.
Well, I am a gentleman, so ladies first.
Alright.
Almost.
Eight.
Seven.
Six.
Five.
I hope you're saying your prayers, because you'll need them.
Two.
One.
You look kind of thirsty.
And one!
I think he told me he loved me.
Alright.
I made it.
Alright,
you asked for it!
Once the fountain's finished, you're done for, kid!
You might as well give up.
There's no escape!
Just a childish treachery.
There you are.
He never changed.
Rachel, could it be?
Yeah!
I think I'm gonna have fun with this!
No way!
I remember everything now!
I remember that you shot Detective Simone, and that I was champion of the City Karate
Tournament!
What the hell?
You're... a karate...
Oh, wow.
Rachel!
Hi, Mom.
Hi, Dad.
You said Dad.
Does that mean...
Do you have your memory back?
Please tell me you remember me now.
Of course, Serena Sebastian.
How could I possibly forget my best friend in the world?
You're back!
So it was the psychiatrist who was the killer.
I was actually aware that it was him all along, of course.
I should have just followed my instincts.
Hey, this isn't fair!
Why'd you solve the case without us?
Don't be upset, George.
Conan was only trying to keep you out of harm's way.
But we don't need any protection!
Yeah, we want to be a part of the excitement as well, Doctor!
I'm sorry, guys.
Did you know your face is bleeding?
Here.
Good job, Conan.
You did well tonight.
Excellent job there, Mr. Detective.
Hey, Tamiya.
What are you doing here?
I came to keep an eye on Tobias, because his band's playing another gig
tonight.
But I guess I don't have to.
Uh, Richard, didn't you say you'd put your life on the line to protect Rachel?
Nope.
But it was Conan and Dr. Agasa who put their lives in danger to protect our
daughter.
Well, uh...
In any case, I'm glad she's safe!
Are you a hundred percent certain?
Yes!
Hey, Detective Simone has regained consciousness!
It looks as though she's gonna pull through!
Really?
That's great news!
Yeah!
I can't believe it!
She's gonna make it, Wilder!
She's alive!
Oh, that's so great!
So now I guess that everything's wrapped up.
Not everything, Inspector.
We still have to deal with Tobias' pending extortion case, even though his victim has
long been deceased.
I want to make sure that justice is served, understand?
You got it, sir.
I have to say that I'm very impressed that someone your age was able to help crack
this case.
What's your name, young man?
That's something you don't need to know.
I'm just an elementary school kid, sir!
Thank you for everything, Conan.
I wanted to ask, you just said all those things earlier to help me get my memory
back, right?
I...
It was a really smart thing to do.
You must have heard my mom talking at the hotel about how my dad proposed to her.
I remember he told me he loved me more than anyone else he'd ever met.
And then you said the same thing back to me earlier.
The old guy said that?
Huh?
What was that?
Um, I said I remember that.
Oh, well, that's what I thought.
There's way too much of an age difference for the two of us to ever get involved,
you know that.
But thank you.
Now you have a good night.
You too, Rachel.
That's just great.
Hey, wait a minute!
Then that means...
I can't believe I used the same pick-up line as that stupid old man!
Ha ha ha ha ha!
