35-year-old Darius J

began his "Voice" journey
on Team Adam.

Darius: In school,
I did not have a lot of friends.

I was 13 when I came out.

I was bullied a lot
for being different,

but I did notice
that the bullying subsided

anytime I was singing.

You know,
growing up on Section 8,

words can't even explain
how proud I am of my son

because he's worked
so hard to get here.

* Got me feeling it *

* I don't know what it is *

* But it seems
she's got me twisted *

Darius J is just such
a presence, such an energy.

* This girl's got a hold on me *

and you can't look away.

that I have seen...

One of my close,
close friends, CeeLo Green,

was 21-year-old Alanna Lynise,

whose personal struggles
helped her find her voice.

I was seven years old
when my family lost my house.

I did not know
we were homeless.

I thought it was
like a continuous sleepover.

Eventually we
as a family relocated

to live with my grandmother.

During these hard times,

music allowed my family
to stick together.

* I got issues *

* You got 'em, too *

* So give 'em all to me,
and I'll give mine to you *

* And one of them is
how bad I need you *

I've known from the jump that
Alanna is one to really watch.

I'm still in the stage
of my career

where I'm closer
to being a new artist,

because now Kelsea has
a little bit of everything.

She lives in my hometown.

At 16 years old, I had the honor
to sing with Brandi Carlile.

It gave me the confidence
to keep on going with music.

former high school athlete
Britton Moore.

Britton: I started playing
sports when I was 4 years old.

Baseball was honestly

I was on varsity as a freshman.

Sports was my main priority
all throughout high school,

but music holds my heart.
