(Episode 53)

Those punks.

Why is Chief Yu here?

What do you think you're doing here?

What brings you here, Yu Ra?

Are you still...

Mr. Ju.

Ms. Han, please come in.

Yes, sir.

This is a mountain.

It gets really cold as the sun sets earlier.

How long were you going to wait?

I wanted to see you...

and apologize to you.

I sincerely apologize.

A moment ago, I got a call from Mr. Hwang Jin Sung.

He told me you're not the one who leaked it.

Really?

I apologize for mistaking you.

No, I'm sorry.

I'm really sorry for troubling you.

Though Mr. Hwang...

didn't tell me how he got his hands...

on my techniques,

he apologized.

And he promised to publish a correction article tomorrow morning.

So I got to protect my recipe.

Mr. Ju, I'm really happy for you.

Are you still following me?

How long are you planning to do this?

Until you give up on Yu Jung.

You're so...

Yu Jung.

What did he say?

The misunderstanding is resolved.

Mr. Hwang told him the truth...

about how someone else stole the technique.

Who was it?

We should go now.

Mr. Ju said he's also going to Seoul,

so he's giving me a ride.

Then I'll see you tomorrow at work.

Let's go, sir.

Jin Sung blabbed?

How much did he tell?

Yes.

Hwang Jin Sung just booked a flight.

It looks like he's leaving the country tonight.

He's doing what?

What happened?

Why didn't you keep the promise you made with me?

I had no other choice.

Chief Yu Min Hyuk already knew about the whole thing.

But...

I haven't told Ju Seol about you.

Chief Yu...

asked me not to mention your name.

Chief Yu?

Yes.

He must have...

wanted to hide the fact...

that the DL Group's daughter-in-law stole the technique.

In tomorrow's newspaper,

it will be reported as my sole doing.

Why didn't Chief Yu...

reveal what I did?

I'm not sure what made Mr. Hwang change his mind all of a sudden.

I'm also not sure why he refused to tell Mr. Ju who was behind it.

Yu Jung, actually,

I talked to Mr. Hwang.

What? You did?

You said you wanted to cover it,

but I couldn't let you remain falsely accused.

It wasn't your fault, after all.

Still, you were worried about your mother,

so I told Mr. Hwang not to say Yu Ra's name...

and bear with it by himself.

I see.

So that's why he didn't bring up Yu Ra's name.

Yes.

I'm sorry for not telling you in advance.

Don't be.

Thank you...

for protecting my mother.

Sure.

You must be tired today. Get some rest.

Okay. See you at work tomorrow.

We need to talk tomorrow.

Yu Ra, do you always have to take it this far?

What did I do?

Are you seriously asking?

Our mother could have become a criminal...

because of your greed.

Let's be more precise.

Why is that because of my greed?

It's your greed.

You got greedy to stay in the company.

You should have quit sooner.

Why do you let this escalate by staying?

What?

You're so pathetic, you know that?

When you can't handle it,

you always get someone else's help.

What do you mean?

Seo Jun helped you with Yu Myung's incident.

Chief Yu helped you with your mother's incident.

You're so easy.

How could you say such a thing?

If only our mother wasn't involved,

I would have told everyone that it was you.

I don't need to hear anything else.

So quit the job right now.

No,

I'm never quitting work.

Mark my words.

I'm letting it slide this time only.

But if you do this again,

I am not letting it pass.

Min Hyuk, you knew it was me.

And you covered it just because Yu Jung was worried about her mom?

But if he exposed it was me,

it could have been easier for Seo Jun to divorce me.

Why?

Those punks.

Why is Chief Yu here?

It's me.

From now on, start tracking Yu Min Hyuk.

Ms. Han, it must have been hard.

I'm really glad things turned out well.

Thank you for worrying about me.

The collaboration with Mr. Ju...

will remain in charge of you and Ms. Kang.

Take these too.

What are all these?

Our new flexible shirred down is really popular these days.

The chairman thanked the marketing department...

by giving all of us a shirred down each!

That's awesome. Our chairman is so cool.

But we have one extra.

This is for Director Cha.

But he's the chairman's son.

Why would he need it?

He also worked hard with us,

he should also get a present.

Since we're at it, I'll deliver it to him now.

It's so pretty.

Is that...

- Hello. - Congratulations.

- Congratulations. - Thank you.

I'm certain that's Yu Ra's father.

Hwa Yeon,

do you also think I'm insignificant?

What are you talking about?

Did something happen at the school reunion?

I went to the school reunion only to feel ashamed.

They're all married, having kids, and living a stable life.

Hye Sun is also single like me,

but her business thrived this time and became a president.

All they talk about is either raising a child or business.

I couldn't even be a part of the conversation.

It's so sad.

My whole life was in vain.

It wasn't in vain.

You can start now.

Either business or marriage.

Where would I get the money?

Also, I'm not thinking of getting married.

You'll want to get married when you find the right man.

Also,

you can start working at any time when you find the one you like.

You can look for one now.

Hi, Hye Sun. Did you get home safely?

What?

You're near my house?

- You want to partner up? - Yes.

You like going to the spa.

You know how I made it big in the beauty industry, right?

(Beauty Service Business Proposal, Spa and Beauty)

I'm trying to expand to the spa market.

But I already have my usual work,

so it's a bit too much on my plate.

That's why I was thinking we could be partners.

What do you think?

I only know how to go to a spa, not run a business.

Hey, the experts run the business.

You only have to treat the customers.

You're good at English since you lived in the US.

You can also treat the international customers.

When this goes big and we open stores overseas,

we can make a fortune!

Is that so?

Of course. I already set up the shops and ordered the machines.

You just have to be there as the representative.

Well, you still have to fund the business.

But when we make profits, you'll get your deserved shares.

Hye Sun, I don't have any money.

Hey, what about your older brother?

He's the chairman of the biggest fashion firm in our country.

My brother can be very strict about businesses.

But still,

would he turn away...

from his only sister?

Mi Ri, if this goes well,

you'll be a president. And you won't have to live off him.

Really?

Go ahead.

I already said no.

So why are you saying no?

Do you think managing a business is easy?

If you still have to work, I'll open one of our stores for you.

Why don't you try managing the store?

No, I want to be in the spa business.

You also know that I'm almost an expert in that field.

Do you think businesses succeed just because you know well?

You can never think lightly of administration.

If you're going to make vain efforts,

just stay at home and get married.

Woo Seok!

He should be in America.

Why is he in Korea?

Hi, Mom. Do you have the number for Yu Ra's father?

Yes.

Hold on.

Yes.

All right. Thank you.

The number you have dialed is not in use. Please make a note of...

The number doesn't exist?

Ms. Han, stop taking so many holidays.

And be more polite to your superiors.

Got it?

Chief Yu!

Did you enjoy your lunch?

- Sure. Did you? - Yes.

Chief Yu,

do you really have a girlfriend?

Yes.

How long has it been?

Well,

it's been long.

No. You're lying.

If you've been dating for long, why don't you have a ring?

Just because. She doesn't like that stuff.

Aren't you lying...

because you don't want a blind date?

No. I do have a girlfriend.

Okay.

I hope...

Yu Myung's audition goes well today.

He'll do well.

That commercial is the gateway to becoming a star.

A lot of famous stars have been on it.

Once he gets on the commercial,

he'll become a famous star.

Right.

He went through a lot so far.

Now it's his time.

When I got pregnant with Yu Myung,

I had an amazing dream.

A carp...

with a rainbow pattern jumped into my chest.

You'll see, honey.

He'll become the main pillar of our family.

What?

I love that idea.

Great!

The person you've called is unavailable right now.

Why isn't he answering?

Did something happen to him?

Ye Jin, come eat.

Ye Jin, I said come eat.

Yu Myung, I can't reach you.

Did something happen to you?

Is it because of Yu Myung?

No. Give it back to me.

Even if you keep calling him, he won't answer.

What?

What do you mean, Mom?

Did you meet Yu Myung?

Yes.

I told him to break up with you.

Mom!

What's wrong with you? I said I love him.

Don't you remember...

how you were hurt and cried?

Who are you to hurt Yu Myung?

Who are you to do that?

Ye Jin, calm down and listen to me.

- Let go of me. - Ye Jin, it was for your sake.

Kang Ye Jin!

What's with her?

So, did you hear back?

No, there are five auditions...

and only one person will be chosen.

There are 5 auditions for 1 commercial?

They're being careful.

Once you make it, you'll hit a jackpot.

Uncle, what does it mean to hit a jackpot?

It means I'll be on TV.

Then I can buy you a lot of robots.

I hope you'll hit a jackpot already.

Then does it mean...

you have four auditions left?

Yes, there are many themes for the commercial.

They want to see many sides of us.

Oh, dear!

Come to think of it,

I had a dream about Yu Myung last night.

There were five pigs...

in our yard...

just running around.

Five auditions...

and five pigs.

It's exactly about you!

I just got goosebumps.

I'm going to be famous. What do I do?

You should!

When you get famous, don't forget about my favors.

Of course, Uncle.

Where's Yu Jung by the way?

She'll be home late.

Lately, she's been coming home late.

Mom, I have to step outside.

Where are you going in the middle of the meal?

I'm done.

Ye Jin, what's wrong? What happened?

I heard you met my mom.

Why didn't you tell me that?

Well...

That's why you didn't take my calls,

isn't it?

Yu Myung.

Are we breaking up...

just like this?

No, Ye Jin. You know how we met again.

Then why didn't you take my calls?

Are you hurt by my mom?

Ye Jin,

after I met your mother, I thought a lot.

It's natural for her to respond that way.

That's why...

I'll pass this audition no matter what.

I'll pass this audition...

and then let's go ask your mom...

for her approval on us.

Okay?

Can you wait for me?

Yu Myung.

I'm so sorry.

It's okay.

No, Ye Jin.

Do you trust me?

How can Woo Seok do this?

Does he have any other sisters or something?

I was asking him a favor as his only little sister.

How can he reject it that way?

Woo Seok...

must've been worried about you.

You know how much he cares for you.

Does he care for me?

If he cares for me that much,

he should help me in this kind of situation.

Geez.

Honey, you're home.

Mi Ri.

Who are you? Do I know you?

What is it?

It's a new product from my company.

Give it to your father.

Thank you. I'll give it to him.

Is your father doing okay in the US?

Of course. We talked today on the phone as well.

You talked to him on the phone today?

Yes. He said hello to you.

I see.

Is that so?

Do you want something to drink?

I'm sure I saw his father this morning.

But he called her from the US?

Yu Ra is hiding something.

What is it she's hiding?

I should talk to her friends first.

This is Han Yu Ra.

What?

You're here?

Where are you going, Yu Ra?

Did something urgent come up?

Maybe.

Hello?

Mr. Cha Seo Jun?

Cha Seo Jun?

What did you want to see us for?

I'm planning a surprise event for Yu Ra without her knowing.

So I have something to ask her friends.

Oh, my. A surprise event?

You're so romantic, Seo Jun.

I'm jealous of Yu Ra.

You're the closest to her in the broadcasting station.

How long have you known her?

We met her when we joined here, so it's been about 1 to 2 years.

Then have you met her parents?

No.

We saw them for the first time at her wedding.

Why do you ask?

I wanted to gift her something she liked as a kid.

Then...

is there anyone in here who'd know about her childhood?

I don't think so.

Na Young might know.

Na Young?

Her full name is Park Na Young. She's a reporter from Chuncheon...

who came to Seoul around your wedding.

I heard they've been friends since middle school.

Right. They seemed really close.

I see.

Then can I have Ms. Park's contact information?

I told you not to be in my sight.

You're not afraid of me, are you?

Should I be afraid of you?

What?

I have nothing to be afraid of in this world anymore.

Thanks to you, my fiance called off our engagement...

and I was fired as a reporter.

He called off the engagement?

What do you mean?

As I promised, I never sent out the photo of you and the guy.

The guy who you lay down next to me...

blackmailed me.

Hey,

then you should talk to him.

You're the one who set it all up.

You take responsibility for it.

What do you want?

Get me a job in Seoul.

Hey,

did you forget about the audition?

You're the one who blew a good chance I prepared for you.

You should look after yourself.

Yu Ra, did you see Seo Jun?

What?

Seo Jun just had a talk with us.

Didn't you see him?

Seo Jun was here? Why?

I'm jealous of you, girl.

Seo Jun is asking around to your friends for a surprise.

Hey, he said it was a secret.

What did he ask?

You'll see later.

What did Seo Jun ask?

You scared me.

He asked us about your old friends,

so we told him it's Na Young.

What?

Come on.

Na Young, why aren't you answering?

Please leave a message after the beep.

What if Na Young met Seo Jun?

I have no choice. I should go check.

Yu Ra, why don't you get prepared? The shoot starts in five minutes.

What's this, Hwa Yeon?

You needed some seed money.

Take this money.

Hwa Yeon.

You said it's something you really want to try.

Do it as much you want.

Keep it a secret from Woo Seok that I helped you out.

Hwa Yeon, thank you so much.

You're the best.

I'm sure Woo Seok married the right person.

You're the best.

Let me go see my friends now.

- Here. - Here?

- Can I sign here then? - Yes.

(A: Kim Hye Sun, B: Cha Mi Ri)

The pen isn't working so well.

Wait.

Done.

- It's the same, right? - Yes.

Done.

I wired the money in your account, so you can check it later.

Okay. President Cha.

Hey, come on. I don't fit that title yet.

You're one once you sign it.

Is that so?

What do I do now?

We've already done research on the store.

Let's just have a brief meeting before the opening.

Also, you know Ju Yeon, right?

Ju Yeon? The one who owns a big business?

Yes. Ju Yeon is investing here too.

I see.

I need her signature here as well.

But I have an errand to run, so I'll see her in the evening.

Will you wait for me here?

It's okay. Go meet Ju Yeon.

I've done signing it already.

After Ju Yeon signs it, I can get the original contract, right?

Sure. I'll meet you near your house tomorrow.

Okay.

Let's go.

I feel so reassured to do this with you.

How reliable you are.

It's so great.

Hello.

What brings you here?

You have so much free time.

Do you not have a job?

I didn't yesterday, but I'm a president starting today.

Is that so?

To celebrate my ownership, why don't we have a party?

But why would you want...

to do that with me?

You're shy.

It's my first time being an owner. Won't you congratulate me?

I need to go open the sushi restaurant now.

How great is that?

We can drink there.

I have a white wine which goes well with sushi.

Let's go now. It'd be so good.

I'm so excited.

Well...

Why are you here?

Where have you been? Who did you meet with?

What's wrong with you again?

Well...

Nothing. I want to go home with you.

Why would we get off together?

Won't that make us uncomfortable?

Let's go separately.

Well,

my car is at the shop.

Then grab a taxi. Okay?

Mr. Cha, you should get off.

Mr. Koo, we're getting off together today.

Okay, ma'am.

Come with me.

Okay.

Seo Jun wanted Na Young's contact information,

but I don't have it, so I couldn't give him.

I hope Na Young didn't contact Seo Jun.

Chairman Cha and Mrs. Ju will come home late today.

Seo Jun, what do you want for dinner?

Shall we eat out?

No. Let's eat at home.

Yes, Mr. Kim.

A meeting at eight in the morning tomorrow?

Okay.

You should go to sleep early.

I was going to have wine with you at dinner.

Na Young and Seo Jun haven't met yet.

I'm sure.

I'm going to leave now.

Thank you for today.

Yu Ra.

What are you doing here?

Who are you?

You must be Cha Seo Jun.

Hello.

I'm Yu Ra's friend, Park Na Young.

Park Na Young?

(A Man in a Veil)

What did you wish for, Min Hyuk?

That I live with you happily for the rest of my life.

Then your wish came true already.

I can't let Min Hyuk be close to Seo Jun anymore.

Send me everything you found in the background check on Min Hyuk.

It didn't say so when I signed it.

Why should I repay it?

Did you sign that kind of contract?

Why did you get involved and make it worse?

How much did you lie when you got married?

Wasn't our deal over earlier?

The reason why I came here today...

Park Na Young!
