WWE Hall of Famer Stone Cold
Steve Austin.

- Stone Cold Steve Austin has
had his fair share of rivals,

but none quite as notorious as
the boss, Mr. McMahon.

Stone Cold and Mr. McMahon's on
screen hatred for one another

created some of the most
memorable moments

in WWE history.

- Oh yeah.

Austin got McMahon.

- And our number ten selection
marks the very beginning

of this iconic rivalry.

- Go into Madison
Square Garden,

coolest places you
could ever work.

If you can get over in front of
The Garden crowd,

you can get over anywhere.

- Welcome everyone to the war
zone.

Madison Square Garden is sold
out.

- I remember watching this at
home.

Stone Cold Steve Austin was
stunning.

Everybody left and right.

- Get Ahold of yourself.

- There was one guy left for him
to stun-

the boss,

the owner.

- What is the matter with you?

They were poking me with the
stick.

I can't do this.

I can't do that.

You're going to be a corporate
this-

You can't do that.

- You got to work within the
system.

That's all you got to do.

- And out of the blue-

Hit that sumbitch with the
Stone Cold Stunner

and the roof came off Madison
Square Garden.

The roof probably came off every
single house that was watching

Monday Night Raw that night.

- There's something obviously
very intriguing about seeing

somebody go after the authority

and beat the hell
out of their boss.

- He took it and he's laying
there.

He's doing that quivering thing
with his eyes.

It was the greatest thing in the
world.

- Here comes the cops.

Arrest him.

- I think that was kind of just
like a preview

of what was to come with Austin
versus the boss.

- There ain't nobody safe,

when Steve Austin's in town.

- The rivalry between Stone Cold
Steve Austin and Bret The Hitman

Hart was known for its intensity
and at times, brutality.

- Remember it's a street fight.

Anything goes.

Oh.

- Their battles inside the
squared circle would eventually

spill over outside the ring.

And there is no safe place to
hide.

Not even in an ambulance.

- Get an mbulance.

He's broke his leg.

Look at his knee.

- That's the thing about Brett's
rivalry with Austin.

It had a level of intensity that
felt very real.

- Oh, watch your knee, you
idiot.

- They both brought out the best
in each other,

but Austin was like the king of
grit.

- Okay.

Let's go Tracy.

- Don't you say one word.

Don't you say one-

- I told you, we're going
straight to hell.

- Come on, let's go.

Where are we going?

[yelling]

Look at this.

- Everything about it made the
audience go,

"Wow, that-that was real.

That was real."

It was so well done and
nobody saw that coming.

- I think there's somewhere in

something like that at the end.

- I'm going to kill him.

- You can't say stuff like that,

but it's like it was just so
intense.

- This is shocking.

- Our next moment takes us to
the year 2022,

after 19 years away
from the ring,

Steve Austin had one more can of
whoop ass to open.

His opponent, Kevin Owens.

- Kevin Owens, I want to thank
you for waking something up deep

inside me that I've kept buried
for 19 years.

- I don't want to talk.

I'm looking for a fight.

- If you want Stone
Cold Steve Austin

to compete in a match tonight
against this sack of [bleep].

Give me a hell yeah.

[crowd yells "Hell yeah."]

- I think it's actually
going to happen.

19 years
in the making.

- I hadn't done any kind of work
that was wrestling related,

so I didn't know mechanically
what I could do.

[bell rings]

- There's the bell.

Here we go.

Austin and Owens teeing off.

- They have a full badass match.

- Look at the fire in the eyes
of Steve Austin.

- And again, they're

beating the tar out of each
other.

- Oh, God.

That is it.

Austin's not getting up.

- I wouldn't do that, me today,

an active performer,

you know, who's relatively
healthy.

There's no chance.

- Look at Stone Cold.

Still fighting, still swinging.

Still fired up.

- Look out.

- Oh, no.

Oh, yes.

- Oh.

- Kevin Owens laid out on a
commentary table.

- The pressure wasn't on him
like it was back in the day.

He was just going out there
having a good time,

and it just reminded you of
the Texas Rattlesnake,

and that ass kicking sumbitch.

- Austin looking to return the
favor.

- He put on a clinic.

And if that was the last time we
ever see him,

it would be a hell
of a way to go out.

- Stunner.

- That was one of the loudest
pops I've heard.

It was just so much fun as a fan
to be able to witness

that one more time.

- That was a perfect place and a
perfect way to end his career.

WrestleMania

in Dallas, Texas,
where I started,

where I stopped,

just means the
world to me.

I had a [bleep] blast.

- Stone Cold Steve Austin was
WWE's resident wild card.

- Ladies and gentlemen,

the new Intercontinental
Champion, The Rock.

- And when the Texas Rattlesnake
clashed with his fierce

rival over championship gold-

- Austin, Stone Cold stunner.

- Steve Austin's got
plans for the belt.

All you got to do is tune
in next week.

- Nothing was off limits.

- Okay.

According to
The Rock's Rolex-

Stone Cold Steve Austin,

your time is up.

I remember it was
Monday night Raw,

and I was part of the Nation
of Domination.

I was on a path to take on Steve
Austin.

And now Stone Cold Steve Austin,
you've managed to do something

that you shouldn't have done and
that's piss The Rock off.

So now The Rock and the Nation,

are coming to get my
intercontinental belt.

- Well, as you can see, it's a
beautiful night.

We've got the moon shining
bright up here.

You've got the cars going back
and forth over there.

But you ain't got no one on this
bridge but Stone Cold Steve

Austin with the Intercontinental
Championship belt.

Rock, when I gave this belt to
you, I did just that.

You didn't have to earn a damn
thing.

It hurts me to do this, but I
really don't give a damn about

you or the WWE.

So I'll see your little
belt later.

There goes the belt.

- And that's the bottom line,
because the 3-1-6 said so.

- Off the bridge.

Nobody was doing
anything like that back then.

- Intercontinental title

is sleeping with the fishes
tonight.

- There was a natural chemistry
there, and I brought out the

best in The Rock, and he brought
out the best in me.

Let him swim out there and find
the damn thing.

I really don't give a damn what
he does.

- Moving on to our number six
moment, one of the most iconic

moments in Raw history when the
baddest man on the planet,

Iron Mike Tyson, stepped
foot into a WWE ring.

Only problem was,

he was stepping into Stone
Cold Steve Austin's ring.

- Ladies and gentlemen,
Iron Mike Tyson.

- This is big, ladies and
gentlemen.

- Mike Tyson-

The mainstream guy was one of
the greatest boxers of all time.

- Mike Tyson in a WWE ring.

- At WrestleMania in
this very ring-

- Yeah.

- -Iron Mike Tyson.

- Mike Tyson in the middle of
the ring,

and I'm thinking,"Okay, crash.

Here comes Stone Cold's music."

[Stone Cold Steve Austin's
music]

- Mike Tyson is standing in
Stone Cold's ring.

- Here comes old Stone Cold,

who's hotter than fire,

come down here and say, "Hey,
what's going on in my ring?"

There's going to be some eyes
glued to that TV.

If you don't understand what I'm
saying.

I always got a little bit of
sign language.

So here's to ya.

- Tyson and Austin.

Tyson and Austin.

My God.

My God.

Austin and Tyson have hooked it
up.

- You watch those agents hold me
down.

I was going after Mike Tyson's
ass.

- I told you it was going to
happen.

I knew it would happen.

- The media attention
surrounding,

it was absurd

- Iron Mike Tyson is back in the
fight,

this time on a wrestling mat.

- It was just, um, chaos.

- It was very important in what
happened with my career

and in the business.

Because, man, once you do
business with Mike Tyson,

the world is watching.

- It is absolutely chaotic.

This is pandemonium.

- In 1998, Stone Cold Steve
Austin was chasing

his first WWE Championship,

which was held by The
Heartbreak Kid Shawn Michaels.

Setting the stage for a showdown
at the showcase

of the Immortals, with
Mike Tyson serving

as special guest enforcer.

- If you get in my face at
WrestleMania,

I'll knock your damn lights out.

And that's the bottom line.

- With three combustible
elements all in the ring

at the same time.

This WrestleMania 14 main event
was as explosive as it got.

- Nobody has ever, ever
outperformed Shawn Michaels

in a big
match situation.

- Oh, no.

- Austin catapulting Michaels.

- Look out.

- Oh, my God.

- Shawn's the best in the
world when the bell rings.

Dude's top notch.

- Stone Cold right out here.

- And look out.

- Oh, God.

Iron Mike Tyson put Austin back
in the ring.

- Uh oh.

- Referee Mike Chioda-

and the elbow.

- Yes.

- Michaels going for another
kick.

Austin-

He got him

The stunner.

Mike Tyson in,
Austin is the champion.

Mike Tyson waving the 3:16.

Tyson-

Right hand.

Down goes Michaels.

- You get to that culmination

of winning the championship at
WrestleMania.

That's really when things took
off.

- Will you ever forget
WrestleMania 14?

- No matter what,

Stone Cold Steve Austin would
never miss an opportunity to get

his hands on the boss of WWE.

Try as he may, there was no
place for Mr. McMahon

to find refuge-

Not even in the hospital.

- There you see Mr. McMahon
via satellite.

- He needs to be sedated.

Can you get a nurse in there?

- Stone Cold's outside the
arena,

outside the ring segments to me

were always extra
exciting as a kid.

- What the?

- It's grape juice.

- I want apple juice.

- Sorry, I'll go get you some
right now.

- I don't want any visitors.

- He's really big and he's
threatening the staff.

- Turn that frown
upside down.

Vince, it's me.

- He's laid up in the hospital,

You got, uh,

Mankind giving him
Socko puppet shows.

- What the hell are you doing?

- Mr. Socko.

- Please.

- Mr. Socko.

- Please leave.

Please.

[whistle]

- Damn it, leave.

- Is it normal?

- Vince, it looks real good.

Looks real good.

Looks just fine to me.

How about you, doctor?

- Oh, I'll take it from here,
nurse.

- No no no no no no no no.

[yelling]

- I reached back to that bedpan,
and I clocked him

with everything I had.

A delicate thing to do to knock
the [bleep] out of him

and not kill him.

What else do we got for an
emergency?

- No.

- Everybody clear.

[yelling]

- The chaos.

That's the only word I can sum
it up as.

Who doesn't love a little bit of
chaos?

- The Rattlesnake has struck.

- An unforgettable moment in the
heated rivalry between

Mr. McMahon and Stone Cold.

But before Stone Cold was
stunning the boss,

the Texas Rattlesnake, was
making a name for himself

in the 1996 King of the
Ring tournament.

- Are you ready for
the King of the Ring?

- So we go to Milwaukee,
the MECCA Arena.

I'm going to wrestle Jake The
Snake Roberts in the finals.

One of the guys that came up to
me and he goes,

"Hey, kid, I just want you to
know Jake Roberts,

he cut a religious based promo
on you."

- How can I lose if I just go
out there and know the power

above is reaching down
and lifting me up?

- We go out there and we have
the match,

myself and Jake.

- Stone Cold Steve Austin
wasting no time going for the

ribs of Jake The Snake Roberts.

- Steve Austin, tremendous
talent, tremendous character,

hard worker.

- This is the final, ladies and
gentlemen.

The winner of this matchup will
be the 1996 WWE

King of the Ring.

And the stunner applied again.

One, two.

And he got him.

- Austin is one of the brightest
shining stars in the entire WWE.

This may be only the beginning
for that young man.

- After the match, I go over
there to do the interview

with Michael Hayes.

You sit there and you thump your
Bible and you say your prayers

and it didn't get you anywhere.

Talk about your Psalms.

Talk about John 3:16.

Austin 3:16 says, I just whipped
your ass.

- That was an authentic, honest
reaction.

Like, "Oh God, did he just say
that?"

- I didn't know what kind of
holy [bleep] moment that was,

but it was.

All of a sudden there was Austin
3:16 signs,

and we realized that there
might be something here.

And that's the bottom line,
because Stone Cold said so.

In 1999, Stone Cold Steve Austin
was set to face The Rock

for the WWE Championship
at WrestleMania 15.

But a week before their big
match, Stone Cold had a big

surprise for The Rock and the
Corporation

on Monday Night raw.

[Stone Cold Steve
Austin's music]

- Uh-oh.

What?

What?

- Wait a minute.

What the hell?

King, It can't be.

- Look at this.

- King.

- Is he?

Look.

He's coming to the ring with
a beer truck.

- Austin-

The beer truck.

- Boy, I came through there,

And as soon as people saw that
beer truck,

they went absolutely ape
[bleep].

- What a reaction.

[laughing]

- It's just a hell of a sight.

- Stone Cold Steve Austin is
going to take his ass to

Philadelphia, check right in to
the SmackDown hotel, roll right

in to room 3:16 and burn that
son of a bitch to the ground.

[crowd cheers]

- The beer truck was something
else, you know, to drive an

actual, like, complete truck in
the building and then just spray

beer all over everyone from the
guys in the ring

to people in the front row.

If you're talking about
entertainment,

really can't get much more
entertaining than that.

- Ah, Stone Cold, it's beer.

- Stone Cold with a beer bath.

Beer bath on the corporation.

- Vince trying to swim in the
middle of the ring,

and the beer there-

It was just a great time, and
people just ate it up.

- He's drowning Mr. McMahon
in beer.

- The fact that we're talking
about it now, 20 plus years

later, tells you the impact that
a segment like that had.

- And that's the bottom line
'cause Stone Cold said so.

- Coming in at our number one
moment, perhaps the greatest

match in the career of the Texas
Rattlesnake.

- Everybody in that [bleep]
damn

dressing room knows that I'm
the best there is,

the best there was, and the best
there ever will be.

- It will be Stone Cold Steve
Austin challenging

Bret The Hitman Hart in a
brutal "I quit" match

from WrestleMania 13 in Chicago.

- A submission match is not my
kind of match.

Do I know a whole lot of
wrestling holds?

Hell no I don't.

But I'll beat the hell out of
you till you do say "I quit".

- Bret Hart is the guy that can
wrestle with a broomstick.

And then you put together
Stone Cold with him.

It's one of these things that's
going to be remembered forever.

- Look out.

Here we go.

- Here we go.

- Austin just tackles him,

and they just start
throwing punches.

And that's how the match
started.

- WrestleMania 13 with Steve
Austin,

and I go in and get the chair.

It's going to blow the roof and
blow the minds

of all the wrestling fans.

- Bret Hart now is like an
animal out of control.

- He's like a shark.

He smells that blood.

He's going right-

Look at that.

- Austin will not surrender.

He will not submit.

- Just the impact of the blood
dripping on the mat.

Steve trying to push his way out
of it.

The visual of that-

I knew that it was going to be
special.

- Austin trying to reach that
rope.

[bell rings]

- Austin the never gave up, but
he passed out with the pain.

- That match was such an
important event in my career,

laying there in a pool of my own
blood with my eyes closed.

The satisfaction that we had
just accomplished

a great match which will stand
up for the rest of time.

- Boy, what a bloodbath.

Steve Austin did not give up.

- What incredible storytelling.

The iconic image of Stone Cold
refusing to give up

cemented Austin as one of the
WWE's toughest competitors,

and in the process, launching
his run as one of the best

to ever lace up the boots.
