lives a little Sound Collector.

Ah, yes, and his best friend, Mole. MOLE SNORES GENTLY

Putting in his hearing aids,

the Sound Collector starts to hear the world around him.

WAVE OF SOUND SWELLS

SNORING CONTINUES

Hello, sleepy paws. MOLE COOS

Ah. Time to collect some sounds.

CLOCK TICKS

Ooh, look, tonight is a clear night.

A night for stars.

I wonder what they sound like.

SWITCH CLICKS, VOLUME INTENSIFIES

Ah, listen to those sounds. WATER LAPS

SIGHS, WATERWHEEL CLANKS

Some big...

CRICKETS CHIRP ..some small.

OWL HOOTS

MOLE GRUNTS

And some Mole-y.

MOLE SNORES

Ah, yes.

What could be better than relaxing under the stars

with a warming mug of hot chocolate?

MOLE GRUNTS

MOLE SNIFFS

MOLE COOS

Well, I guess sharing your mug of chocolate with Mole.

There you go.

MOLE GRUNTS, NARRATOR SIGHS

Look at them all.

Wow!

A shooting star! Amazing!

MOLE COOS Yes.

A shooting star is too good not to share.

MOLE SIGHS

SOUND COLLECTOR: Mmm.

MOLE GRUNTS

Oh, another!

SOUND COLLECTOR GASPS

MOLE GRUNTS Mole, look!

Ugh, not quick enough.

Poor Mole isn't good at seeing at the best of times.

GRUNTING RESUMES, NARRATOR LAUGHS

She is good at drinking hot chocolate, though.

CRICKETS CHIRP

It's so quiet up there.

Yes, maybe they do make a sound.

NARRATOR GASPS There!

Another shooting star!

MOLE COOS

Nope. Nothing. BUTTON CLICKS

He can't even play Mole the sound of a shooting star.

SOUND COLLECTOR GASPS I think he's got an idea.

COOING CONTINUES

What is he doing in there?

And what does he want his mellotron for?

MOLE SNIFFS, AMPLIFIER BUZZES

Oh, I see.

If he can't record the sound of the stars...

SOFTLY CHIMING MUSIC

..maybe he'll make a sound for them.

And it's just right.

MELLOTRON HUMS Yes! Yes!

MOLE SNIFFS

Mole saw it! She saw the shooting star!

The music helped her follow it across the sky.

A satellite, perhaps?

MELLOTRON WARBLES

AEROPLANE ENGINE Yes.

A real evening sky noise.

An aeroplane flying to a distant land.

MOLE SNIFFS

What wonderful music.

Bringing us closer to stars that are light-years away.

And friends who are just on our doorstep.

MOLE SNIFFS, COOS

Yes...

tonight really is a night for stars.
