NARRATOR: Around and along, in the middle of somewhere,

lives a little Sound Collector.

Oh, yes... COOS

..and his best friend, Mole.

SIGHS

Putting in his hearing aids,

the Sound Collector starts to hear the world around him.

WAVE OF SOUND SWELLS

MOLE COOS

Yes, time for breakfast.

MOLE CONTINUES COOING

With breakfast done, they're both ready for the day.

MOLE GRUNTS

Ah, I think Mole wants to play.

BOTH GRUNT

She's strong for a little mole.

Whoops!

MOLE GRUNTS

NARRATOR LAUGHS No harm done, Mole.

CLOCK TICKS Oh, look.

The moon is going to pass before the sun today,

creating an eclipse.

Better get out there, then. MOLE GRUNTS

I wonder what kind of noise an eclipse makes?

SNIFFS, GRUNTS

Hm? Ha-ha-ha! Sorry, Mole.

I think you're out of luck.

Yes, time to collect some sounds.

SHEEP BLEAT Lots of bleating sheep.

BIRDS CHIRP

A bold robin redbreast, singing away.

LYRICAL CHIRPING What a wonderful song!

GASPS

It's getting dark. That's odd.

Oh, of course!

The moon is passing before the sun.

SOUND COLLECTOR SIGHS

That's right. You mustn't look directly at the sun.

It'll hurt your eyes.

MOLE GRUNTS

What's he doing? MOLE COOS

Ah, I see! A pinhole camera.

To safely see the eclipse without looking at the sun.

Will you look at that.

MOLE CONTINUES COOING Ah.

So now to find out what the eclipse sounds like.

NARRATOR WHISPERS: Silence.

It's now a total eclipse.

MOLE GROANS It's OK, Mole.

NARRATOR WHISPERS: Not a sound can be heard...

MOLE GRUNTS

MOLE MUNCHES ..except Mole.

NARRATOR WHISPERS: So relaxing.

GRUNTS

And as the moon moves from in front of the sun,

so the sun lights up the day again.

BIRDS CHIRP Oh, he's back.

CHIRPING, MOLE GRUNTS

Yes.

Everything is back as it was... SHEEP BLEAT

..filling the day with their noises.

Sounds we'd miss if they weren't there.

MOLE GRUNTS

Ha-ha-ha! A mole never forgets.

Ha!

Yes, Chase The Sock is the best game of all.
