NARRATOR: Around and along, in the middle of somewhere,
lives a little Sound Collector.
Oh, yes, and his best friend, Mole.
SNORES AND GROANS
Mmm. Nothing like a little lie-in.
MOLE COOS
And that's nothing like a little lie-in.
NARRATOR LAUGHS, SOUND COLLECTOR YAWNS
Putting in his hearing aids,
the Sound Collector starts to hear the world around him.
WAVE OF SOUND SWELLS
MOLE GRUNTS
DISTANT RUMMAGING Hm?
What an interesting and faintly annoying sound.
MOLE GRUNTS
Whoa! The plant the Seed Collector gave Mole has really grown!
Um, not sure that's the best place for it.
He can't get into the kitchen for breakfast.
TOY SQUEAKS, SOUND COLLECTOR GRUNTS
Um, that's no better.
Mm. It's really getting in the way.
MOLE GRUNTS Uh...
Uh, well, at least Mole seems happy enough.
TOY SQUEAKS
SIGHS, DOOR OPENS
Yes, it's going to have to go.
BIRDS CHIRP, MOLE GRUNTS
Ah, Mole's moving the plant into her molehill.
MOLE GROANS Oh. Good luck with that.
SIGHS, BIRDS CHIRP
Ah. The splendid sounds of a glorious spring morning.
SIGHS
WATERWHEEL CLANKS
Mm. HE GASPS
VANE CREAKS, WIND HOWLS
BUCKET CLATTERS, HE GASPS
What a great day for collecting some blustery sounds.
WIND WHISPERS
CHUCKLES
Nice.
BIRDS CHIRP
BREATHES HEAVILY, DISTANT RINGING
HE GASPS What's this?
Uh... RINGING CONTINUES
What a sound!
Follow that noise!
MOLE GRUNTS Ah.
She can't get into her own molehill now.
NARRATOR CHUCKLES She's in a real pickle.
HE BREATHES HEAVILY, RINGING CONTINUES
Ooh, what's this?
They look like bamboo canes.
HE SIGHS Oh! Amazing windy musical pipes.
HE GIGGLES
HE SIGHS
BAMBOO THUDS, HE GASPS
BAMBOO WHISTLES TUNEFULLY
Oh, that's good. HE CHUCKLES
BAMBOO WHISTLES MELODICALLY
He's playing them!
NARRATOR CHUCKLES So clever!
MOLE GRUNTS Oh, Mole.
BAMBOO MELODY PLAYS IN DISTANCE
MOLE GRUNTS
MOLE GRUNTS That's cheered her up.
MOLE GROANS, HE CHUCKLES
Aw. She's had quite a morning.
Huh? MOLE GROANS
SOUND COLLECTOR SIGHS
Um... Hmm.
Not to worry. I'm sure he'll think of something.
SOUND COLLECTOR GROANS On the move again.
Oh, come on, Mole! MOLE GROWLS
TOY SQUEAKS Oh, it looks good there.
And Mole can visit whenever she likes.
WIND CHIMES CLATTER, NARRATOR CHUCKLES
And the plant will never be alone with that soothing lullaby.
LAUGHS
MOLE GRUNTS
