Original subtitles

- [Narrator] Snow White, born in the Green Valley Kingdom,

is a princess of rare beauty.

Her complexion as white as a glacier's eternal snow.

Her childhood however, has been a lonely one

full of precocious, painful experiences.

She lost her dear mother when she was four years old,

the kind and sweet Rosebud.

She was substituted rather rapidly by Lady Crystal.

Now, King Conrad is away at the war

and has left Snow White with her stepmother.

(upbeat music)

- Ah, my heart is in such pain.

My beloved husband left me and his subjects for the war

and I miss him so badly.

(squeaking)

Without him, I feel very sad and alone.

Thank God I have you, my faithful friend.

All right, and now that I've got it off my chest,

let's get to work.

(laughs)

(mewing, barking)

(hissing, growling)

Snow White, Snow White come here!

- What's going on?

Pocket, Milk, it's okay.

Be quiet, behave yourselves!

- Take them away, I don't want to see them!

You must take care of the, I hate them.

- Please forgive them, I don't understand

what happened to my pets.

- Come princess.

- [Crystal] Take them to your room, quickly!

- [Woman] It is really strange, those pets

have always been sweet and tame.

I've never seen them aggressive before.

I wonder what disturbed them so much.

- Stop this nonsense now.

You are here to obey and I don't ever

want to see them again.

You better behave accordingly.

- I understand your highness,

but these pets were the last gift

Snow White received from her departed mother.

They're good company for her.

- Her mother is dead and I set the rules now.

Therefore tell Snow White if she doesn't

get rid of those pets immediately,

she will be severely punished.

Oh.

(laughs)

Interesting.

I will be able to read here without being disturbed,

and practice witchcraft when and how it pleases me.

(laughs)

- Don't worry, Snow White.

Everything will be all right.

- Why were you guys so unfriendly with my mother, huh?

She didn't do you any harm.

- Don't be mad at them.

No one understands.

I think the queen is behaving strangely.

I'm sorry, don't misunderstand what I've just said.

- My mother's behavior is conceivable, Molly.

We are all facing a hard time now.

We are all nervous because of the king,

and it's hard for her too.

- Yes you're right, princess.

- And you my dear friends, don't do anything stupid.

Don't you disturb the queen.

- [Man] Next please.

- The colors of this fabric are splendid, I will keep it.

- [Man] Thank you your highness.

- [Man] Next one please.

- Are you telling me that the rocks

in these jewels are unique?

- Yes your highness, of course these rocks

are absolutely beautiful.

There is no doubt.

- Show them once and for all, I want to see them.

- Right away.

- Oh.

(soothing music)

(gasps)

They are wonderful.

I've never seen such wonder.

They are worthy of a queen, I'm speechless.

- I see you like them, your highness.

- Not only do I like them, I want them.

I intend to buy them and you will be generously rewarded.

- Oh thank you your highness.

- [Molly Voiceover] While the king risks his life in battle

for his people's sake, the queen

only thinks about her own whims.

- Perfect, the size is just right

and their light magnificent.

What do you think?

(snoring)

You're no good, all you do is sleep.

- Your highness.

I have brought you the dresses you had asked for.

- In order to tell if they suit me, I must try them on.

- Of course, of course your highness.

Please, please, take your time.

I brought them both.

You should try this one on first.

- Hm, I don't like neither the garnish nor the color.

Anyhow, I'm curious to see how it looks on me.

- Please take your time.

- It is incredible, I have never seen

such a rich and sumptuous hall before.

I could live here!

Master, master, look at that girl down there in the garden!

- Hm, which girl?

- She's delicate and young like the flowers.

- Oh, that young lady is Snow White.

Her beauty increases with the passing of the days.

- She's still a child, but her charm is irresistible.

The charm of innocence.

- [Crystal] What are you watching?

(stuttering)

- Did you like the dresses?

- The dress!

Watch what I do to your dresses.

(fabric tearing, yelling)

Go away both of you!

- Oh my goodness.

(suspenseful music)

- Oh it's you, father.

- Yes my child.

Come to my arms.

- My dear father, you are back!

You can't imagine how happy I am to see you.

(laughing)

(dramatic music)

(gasps)

(panting)

What a nightmare.

I need some fresh air.

(squeaking, yells)

Help, help please there's a bat in here help me please!

(barking, mewing)

Help me, somebody, help!

Go away, go away!

- Stop it now, silence.

- I opened the window to get some air

and the bat jumped at me!

- The first thing to do is close this window

if you don't want anything to scare you.

It's the first time this bat is aggressive, it's weird.

Oh well but now everything is over, goodnight.

(laughs)

- Calm down, nothing will ever happen to you.

I will keep you close to me.

You are so sweet, I can't understand

why my stepmother doesn't like you.

(pleasant music)

- I really cannot imagine what is on the queen's mind.

It is not possible she doesn't realize

that animals need an outdoor life to live in freedom.

Even for a human being it's hard,

actually almost impossible to remain

always locked up in a room.

Imagine the poor pets.

- I would like to take them into the woods,

but she won't let me.

- Please, leave it to me.

I will go and speak to the queen.

I'll explain to her our reasons.

- No, she'll get mad at you.

- It doesn't matter, it's important to me.

I want to know what she has in mind.

A person who hates animals must have a heart of stone.

- Yes, but she'll punish you.

- Princess, leave it to me.

I will speak gently.

- Molly, don't go!

- Trust me, princess.

- It's too risky, let's go help her.

Oh, I'm sorry mother.

- It's you Snow White.

Can't you watch where you're going?

- I'm sorry, I didn't mean it.

I was simply looking for Molly.

- Molly, in such a hurry, why?

- Well, I'm just looking for her.

Oh it really doesn't matter.

- [Crystal] Wait a minute, have you seen my fan?

- I believe you dropped it.

- Pick it up, you're the one who made me drop it.

You must pick it up immediately, do I make myself clear?

- Oh.

Don't do it, princess.

Princess, you...

- Here mother.

- Thank you Snow White, that wasn't difficult.

(laughs)

- A princess like you should never lower herself

to pick up a dropped object.

- But it was my fault, I bumped into her

while running in the hallway looking for you.

- It is not a good reason for what you've done.

It is a job for valets or maids.

- Yes.

(laughs)

- I loved seeing that little brat kneeling at my feet.

Show me you love your mommy, my dear.

(squeaking)

I will not tolerate the existence of someone

more beautiful than me, I refuse it.

Mirror magic mirror answer me.

(squeaking)

(dramatic music)

Mirror mirror on the wall,

who's the fairest one of them all?

- [Mirror] You my beloved queen.

- How can I know you're telling the truth?

- [Mirror] The truth is the only thing I know.

- You are right, you cannot lie

and if one day you do lie, you will regret it!

I will shatter you to pieces and throw you in the sea!

- [Mirror] Yes yes, I know.

- Don't you forget that.

(laughs)

- Father I need you, come back soon.

(gasps)

You scared me.

- Princess, it's almost sundown.

It will soon be dark, you'd better cover up.

- Thank you Molly, I was just thinking of my father.

We haven't received any news.

- [Molly] Your father is a great knight.

I'm sure he'll come back safely after the war is over.

- You're right.

Poor father, risking his life all alone.

- Our king is a hero.

- I'm glad I have you, Molly.

I feel so lonely. - I'm here.

I'm strong and brave.

I'll always protect you and stand by you.

- Oh Molly, you're wonderful.

- Come on princess, let's go back to the castle.

The queen is waiting for you for dinner.

- [Snow White] Yes.

- Snow White, you are princess and as such

must observe the etiquette.

During the meals you must not put your elbows on the table.

Sit up, do you understand?

Snow White, as you know very well I am queen.

You owe me respect and obedience,

do you understand it?

- Yes, I'll do as you say.

- I want right away a proof of your obedience.

You will eat your soup until the end,

even if it's cold.

- Do you want me to call the servant?

- There is no need for that, I don't need a servant.

Do you understand?

You will pick it up, Snow White.

Must I repeat it, didn't you hear?

I want you to pick it up for me.

What are you waiting for?

- A princess like you should never

bend down to pick up anything.

- Well do you refuse to obey me?

- [Molly] Your spoon, your highness.

- Molly!

- I wonder what she's trying to prove?

Was it not sufficient to force you to pick up her fan?

- But why?

I didn't do anything to her.

- Princess, I will always stand by you.

I won't let her harm you.

Don't cry, otherwise your beautiful eyes

will turn red as a rabbit's.

It is a pity she treats you this way.

- Thank you very much Molly.

- Come on now, smile!

You're so much prettier when you smile.

- I don't want this to happen again.

What about this?

I did a good job didn't I?

Now we have a place to play.

The woods indoors.

- [Crystal] Snow White?

- Oh I'm sorry, I thought it was Molly.

(hissing, barking)

- Why don't you leave your room

and take your pets to the woods?

Nature must be enjoyed outdoors

instead of reproduced artificially

in a room, don't you agree?

- But...

- I am sorry for last night.

I have been very nervous lately, please forget it.

Go ahead, play outside with your friends.

- Can I really mother?

- Mhmm. - Oh thank you!

Let's go guys, let's play outside.

(giggles)

- Molly, Molly!

(laughing)

Molly you have one hour to leave the castle.

And you are not allowed to come back here.

- Molly I brought you some daisies!

Molly where are you?

Molly!

- Stop shouting, Snow White.

Molly is gone, she was too tired

and I gave her some days off.

(laughs)

- Molly where are you?

- [Narrator] Molly, the faithful nanny,

who promised to take care of Snow White like a daughter,

left the castle forever.

Now our young princess is alone to face the ones

who are trying to take her place in the castle.
