Especially red-eared sliders.

Now we got to take it Out of water and treat it,

And then we can Bring it back home.

But when it has shell rot, Is it in pain?

It's not in pain, But it can actually --

The turtle can die down the road If you don't take care of it.

-aw. -but what could happen,

She's not gonna be able To hold her body temperature.

And over that period of time, She can actually die

Of, like, being too cold.

-how do you fix it? -this is not good.

You see right here? It's red?

Yes.

So, he has a little infection Here, too.

And actually, I think it's a female,

Because the claws are short.

The turtle needs to go Inside, okay?

We need to actually get it Under, like,

A heat lamp immediately, okay?

And they have some medicine.

It's actually really good.

It's similar to, like, Our antibiotic ointments

That we use.

They have it for the turtle. It helps with bacteria problems.

And then find a nice Little glass tank

So, we have over A million lights.

We have a big event.

We kick it off and it's free To the public.

So, one of the things, again, Since it's our 25th anniversary,

We really want to take it up A notch

For our customer this year.

We always have santa claus here, We always have the lights,

But we thought, What is that one thing

That would really get The crowds out here

That's new and different?

So, who else should we turn to? You guys.

We've definitely done Holiday tanks in the past.

Listen, a chocolate fish tank? Let's do it.

It's gonna go inside Or outside?

It's gonna go outside,

And we have the perfect spot To show you.

This is our cactus garden.

-how big is it? -it is over 3 acres,

And we have 300 species Of plants out here.

The best part about it though, As you know, is,

At the holidays, we light it With over a million lights.

It is so neat.

It takes the guys about Two months to decorate it,

60 pairs of gloves, And a lot of band-aids.

-there you go. -it's a lot of hard work,

But we know the community Really loves it.

-that's cool. -yeah.

It's a big family tradition Here in vegas,

Which is another reason We're just proud

To have you guys here, Two vegas locals.

We could do some kind Of cool ethel m wrap.

What could make it look Like holiday?

Instead of salt water, We should go fresh water.

We should use glofish.

It's like, during Every holiday season,

We like to use these glofish. They're really cool.

They're engineered fish

That actually have pigment From corals,

And they glow. -wow.

Glofish are gonna look like Christmas lights.

-that'd be perfect. -the guests will love that.

Every kind of fish has its own Temperature preferences.

In general, glofish need to live

In the 76- To 80-temperature range.

So we'll be sure to install a Heater to keep them comfortable

Even when the temperature Outside fluctuates.

For ethel m chocolates, We're building

A 6-foot cylindrical aquarium.

Inside, we'll fill it with 350 gallons of fresh water,

Festive glofish, and deck it out With desert themeing

And chocolate-box inserts.

Then we'll wrap the canopy And stand,

And light up The dazzling addition

To their 25th annual holiday Cactus display.

With all of his experience With water over the years,

Wayde and I started A water-filtration business

To help people have clean,

Filtered alkaline water In their homes.

So I'm gathering up the team To help me

Make something really special For his new office.

With all the news around lately

With water quality In this country

And the contaminants That are being found within,

Wayde wanted to create A solution

That people could use In their home.

Basically, this system is gonna Be removing a vast majority

Of those harmful contaminants That are found

Within our municipal Water supplies, unfortunately.

So I wanted to do An aquarium for him,

For the holidays,

That represents king Water filtration system.

Okay. So, what do you have in Mind for the shape of the tank?

I was kind of thinking

A cylinder Would be a good look.

Because it's a cylinder shape, I figured it's pretty easy

To kind of make it look Somewhat like that.

Well, where's this Gonna be placed?

Well, you know, we opened up A new office

For this business,

And when you walk in, there's A spot that is perfect.

I was thinking Fresh water.

Since we're purifying And making clean water,

I felt like it was kind of only Right to go fresh water.

What kind of fish Are you gonna put in there?

I was thinking Blue cichlids.

The blue Kind of represents,

Like, the water And pureness.

Wayde loves blue.

See? I put a little Thought into it

Before I brought This idea to you.

Redneck: so, we gonna have some, Like, fresh-water rock,

Some plants and stuff?

Because cichlids do need places To hide and feel at home.

I'm so excited.

I love the fact that we're Gonna bring wayde's, like,

Two passions together.

Wayde's two passions have to Be his birds and doughnuts.

Pot roast and his reptiles. Yeah.

His family and his cars.

Wayde's two passions Are water and fish.

Everybody knows that.

But we have a lot of work Cut out for us,

So we got to get going.

And obviously we want Fresh-water fish,

But we want these fish To pop like the light bulbs.

Oh, I got the perfect fish For you there.

We want them to glow.

Hey, let me show the starfire Red tiger barb.

Look right down over here. -yes.

Now, they're a little Aggressive,

So you'll kind of want To watch them,

But they're not too bad.

So, I heard from Brett, tiger barbs,

The females will lay the eggs

And the males will follow Behind them and fertilize them?

-correct. -that's crazy, right?

I love that. That's great.

And what are these guys?

-those are the tetras. -oh, yeah.

-oh, the glofish tetras? -yeah.

Those look just Like the light bulbs.

-yes. -the tetras, they have bones

That are connected To their inner ear,

So they actually have Very good hearing.

Well, there are plenty of Kids around the garden,

So I'm sure They'll be hearing them.

And how big will they get?

Oh, they get About 3 inches, max.

-okay. -they're very small.

You could put a lot Of these guys in there.

Okay. Perfect.

-and they travel in groups? -in groups, yeah.

They school. They're a good schooling fish.

They come in all Different colors.

So it'll look like A string of lights.

It'll look just like A string of lights.

-that will be perfect. -these guys are great

For swimming In the middle of your tank.

But I've got some other fish That are great

For swimming At the bottom and the top,

To fill out Your whole tank, okay?

-okay. Let's see. -let's go see them.

-right over here. -awesome.

-oh, look at these guys! -wow!

What are those?

These are new to the market. These are glofish sharks.

-so, are they actually sharks? -no.

They're actually members Of the minnow family.

They're gonna swim on the bottom Of your tank.

Oh, they're beautiful.

-yeah. -how big do those get?

These guys actually won't get Any bigger than 5 inches.

Okay.

So you'll be able to put a lot Of these guys in your tank.

So, these guys only swim On the bottom?

Yes.

And what do they do? They're gonna eat the algae?

They're gonna eat all the algae, Any kind of extra food

That's gonna be left In the tank.

Okay, cool.

So they're gonna be Like cleaners, okay?

-excellent. -and then, what are these guys?

Oh. Those are The glofish, okay?

Oh!

-this is the fir-- -yeah, they swim up at the top.

It's called the danio, right?

Yeah, it is. You got it.

How do they get Their color?

The original fish were injected With genes from coral.

These guys Now don't have to be.

Their colors are actually Inherited now.

That's amazing.

That'll be perfect In the garden.

How many of those Can we put in?

Ooh. Gosh. 350 to 400 fish.

Oh, that's a lot. That'll pop.

-yes. -thanks, victor.

The only fish that wayde wants Is the blue cichlid.

Agnes: It's his favorite color.

But it has to be This one type of fish.

Do you have it?

Well, I hate to disappoint you, Ladies...

The most important thing Is to keep your fish

Happy, healthy, And well fed.

That's why we launched the new Tanked aquatic fish food.

Nom nom nom nom!

-they love it! -yeah!

We found a turtle suffering From shell rot

In our pond at the shop.

So we've been Keeping her dry

And trying to get her back In good shape.

-she's warm. For sure. -yeah, she's warm.

Hey. Whoa, whoa, whoa. Hold up, hold up.

Where we goin'? -we got the setup.

Look, we're taking care Of the turtle.

Oh, wow. Look.

Now that the shell Is drying up, look.

You can see more abrasions On it.

You want to make sure A few things.

You want to check temperature, Which, actually, she is warmer.

You can feel that. That's good.

Oh, yeah. She is warmer.

You want to check the shell out And make sure, like,

It's not soft In certain areas.

Sometimes you see, like, Some other rotting right here.

You want to peel Some of that off.

'cause what that does... -eugh!

That's not hurting her? -no, no, no.

What happens is, bacteria And water forms in here,

And it actually starts To rot into the shell.

And then it becomes weaker,

And that's stunting The turtle's defense.

Right.

What you want to do Is clean her up.

But you want to clean up All these areas

The best that you could.

And once they're all cleaned up, Like this,

Then you get Your toothbrush,

Which works great.

Now, you don't want it Too hot or too cold.

You want to get it on there And clean those areas.

-so, she's being detailed. -pretty much.

It's just like when you get A little cut,

You know, You put peroxide on it.

-mm-hmm. -this is the same thing.

You just put the ointment Right on it.

You're trapping bacteria Under here,

And that causes a problem.

Once we clean the areas Around the cuts and abrasions,

Then it's time To apply the medicine.

Turtle fix.

It smells like a spa.

-is it natural? -yes.

It's tea-tree extract.

We're gonna pour On an angle

A little bit Right onto the cut,

So we're filling The whole bottom of the shell,

All the way around.

But if you do it, It saturates the shell.

It's actually fighting all The bacteria that's in there.

But you don't want to Oversaturate the turtle

With the medicine, So you want to use a damp cloth

To wipe up the excess medicine After you apply it.

So, listen. Let's rinse her off A little bit,

Clean it up, Keep an eye on her,

And when you see some of The blemishes that are there,

Get a little bit More medicine on there.

Get her some vegetables. And keep the heat lamp on her.

Watch her.

Make sure the light Is not too close

Or she can burn herself.

Agnes: all right. We'll get her checked in.

All right. I'm gonna go clean up.

-she looks happier. -yeah.

She'll be better In no time.

Our turtle is on her way To recovering,

And the team has secretly Been working

On wayde's surprise tank,

So agnes and I Are going cichlid shopping.

Well, one type of fish, But a lot of that.

And the only fish that wayde Wants is the blue cichlid.

But it has to be This one type of fish.

Well, the beauty Of these fish

Is that They're not just blue.

If you actually look closely At them,

They do Strike other colors.

So, as they mature And get older,

The males will get A deeper blue color on top

And they get, like, This golden orange color,

Sunkissed almost, On the bottom edge.

Ah. I love sunkissed.

That is gonna look so amazing.

They do get maybe about An inch and a half larger

Than what you see here, And the good thing is,

Is that because They don't get super big,

You can keep a bunch Of them together.

We don't Normally do tanks

Where we only have One type of fish.

Well, you chose a good one Type of fish to go with.

Yeah. And wayde's gonna be Super happy,

Which is the most important Part here.

Where do these cichlids Come from?

Well, they originated From africa.

They're malawi cichlids.

They're malawi cichlids, Okay.

But these guys here Were actually bred overseas.

What do they like To munch on?

They do fine with pellet.

Or you can do, Like, frozen worms.

And cichlids are more Of an aggressive fish?

It is.

And, I mean, they're Not totally aggressive

Towards each other.

They get angry.

If they don't eat, they'll Find themself a little meal.

Both: So a little like wayde.

I was just thinking The same thing.

It's perfect for him.

Absolutely perfect.

Heather: the facade For the ethel m tank

Is coming together nicely,

And so are the cactus And chocolate-box inserts.

I think the colorful ones Are definitely good,

He definitely loves A pop of color.

So I definitely like, like, The orange and...

I like this one.

Yeah, even the purple Can be fun.

I'm concerned, though...

If we put them all around The bottom,

Because it's cichlids And they need hiding spots,

If they're down all low, The fish are gonna be down here,

And it's gonna make The tank look empty.

What if we, like, raise some Of these up somehow?

We do have five feet To work with.

We could add some collagen And mount them up

On the rock, for sure.

How high do you want to go up In the cylinder?

I think, like, At least halfway up.

You definitely need some flow And movement up there.

Might have something a little Bit taller on the shelf.

I could take a look.

What's the difference?

But in regular fish tanks,

It's just pretty much For the looks.

So that you can see the fish In different...

See how it's white? You can really see the fish.

And then, it's blue.

It really brings out some of The highlights of the fish.

This is an l.E.D. Light That has whites

And blues Mixed into it, okay?

Then we have A u.V. Light.

First up, I got two males.

They're the bigger And brighter of the two.

The females are a little bit Smaller and darker.

But look how pretty they are. Look at the blue.

I love them.

These guys Are middle swimmers,

So they're gonna be Throughout the tank.

Oh, they look good.

They go so nice with that blue And the blue light.

And these are great For beginners,

'cause they're Super hardy fish.

Now we got the females.

A little bit smaller And darker.

The males like to peacock. That's why they're brighter.

Of course.

And you know what's also cool About these?

They're mouth brooders, Which means they hatch

Their eggs in their mouth.

Isn't that crazy?

Wow, these guys Are much smaller.

-yeah. -they're pretty peaceful.

But they can be aggressive Towards other species,

So that's why We're doing cichlids only.

You ladies ready?

We have the new companies, so I Wanted to do an aquarium for you

As a surprise for the holidays.

So we came up with the idea...

We wanted to bring a smile To everybody's face,

You know, Introduce our company,

Show people what the system Has to offer on a grand scale,

And kind of bring a hybrid Together of your aquarium skills

And your Water-treatment skills.

You have a 35-by-60 tank,

350 gallons.

We made the overflow Look like the media,

And wrapped the back To look like carbon.

I see that.

Now, your water unit is actually Running through the aquarium,

So the water is great, The fish are very happy.

I wanted to go fresh water

Because king Water filtration system

Gives pure alkaline water,

So what better way to represent That than fresh water?

And we did blue African cichlids,

Because I know It's one of your favorites.

And the blue helps represent The water.

They can be aggressive With other species.

And they're from lake malawi In africa.

Brett: I think it looks Really, really cool.

It looks like The complete system.

You got the computer on The top, automatic backwash.

You got everything Inside it.

It's unbelievable. I love it.

This is definitely incredible.

It's definitely one of a kind,

Just like our one-of-a-kin Home-filtration unit.

And there's a male and female.

And the male has this big claw That comes out, right?

And he's like the big daddy In there.

That's why he got the name The fiddler.

'cause he's got the big arm That comes out.

And the female one Is super small.

That has dogs. -what's in it?

It is peanut butter, Which dogs love...

...And then, the most important Ingredient, is coconut oil.

It's amazing For their coat.

And we also add Some of this stuff.

So, this is perfect. It's like a miracle pill.

So, when we first Came out here,

You guys Wanted us to create

A cactus garden Inside of the aquarium,

And this is what We created for you.

-this is amazing. -it's beautiful.

It's everything we wanted.

The tank is 72 around, 30 inches tall.

It's 350 gallons.

Wow.

You got custom L.E.D. Lighting

That can change For the holiday lights.

You got red, green, and blue.

Wow.

So, one of the things That we did is,

We replicated some of the cactus That were in the garden,

In the actual aquarium.

For the overflow, We did one giant cactus.

Inside, We made little cacti.

And since you have So many lights

On the cactus In the garden,

We added lights To the mini ones as well.

They look so real.

Also, too, is we made you guys A box of chocolates,

Which are made out Of acrylic,

So you won't have any problems With those inside the water.

-they're not real? -no, they're not real.

Tell us about these fish.

They're amazing.

Inside, you have over 400 glofish.

These guys, they're called Glofish sharks --

The newest To the glofish brand.

Only been in existence For the last couple of months.

We have fish Called danios.

Those are The original glofish.

We had green tiger barbs And red tiger barbs.

The tiger barbs... The females lay the eggs,

And the males follow Behind them, fertilizing them.

And then the tetras Swim in schools.

And it's always good To have more than six,

Which you guys Definitely have.

We wanted that fish All throughout the aquarium.

So, the sharks, they're actually Gonna swim on the bottom.

The tetras are gonna swim Pretty much in the middle.

You have the danios, which Are gonna swim up at the top.

Amazing.

Oren: it really brought out The true spirit

Of the brand Of ethel m chocolates,

And the cactus garden, Which is our home here in vegas.

Filled with holiday cheer.

Heather hooked wayde up With an almost 8-foot-tall

Aquarium For king filtration systems.

Weighing in at 3,500 pounds,

This cylindrical tank is home to Dozens of african blue cichlids.

And with the replica Of the inner workings

Of the filtration system inside,

It's a refreshing addition To wayde's new office.

Next up...

We build ethel m chocolates A 350-gallon fresh-water tank.

This cylindrical aquarium Is lit with vibrant glo sharks,

Danios, And red and green tiger barbs.

We added some chocolate boxes And cacti inside,

Making it an attraction All its own

At this year's holiday Cactus lighting.
