Was knocking that piece out So you're able to see.

So, when I come through From working out,

Come through the garage, And the kids come in,

We're able to see the fish tank In there, as well.

Brett: yeah, I think That's a good idea.

Like the shape That's there?

Complete in the shape.

Yeah, that's an odd shape.

We haven't done one of those In a while.

It's a little difficult To build that

Because you got to put A piece in the oven

And the front panel Has to match the back panel

Exactly to fit in.

It looks kind of like A banana.

You know, we call it a crescent. It's a tough build.

Take some measurements.

Adrian: well, I know if anyone Can do it, you guys can.

Oh, absolutely. No, When he says it's a challenge,

We love challenges. Yeah.

I really think It will be cool.

We have that amethyst piece Over there

On the dining room table,

And I love that color, He loves that color.

I think it'd be really cool To incorporate that color

So we have That pop of color in there.

Amethyst Would be great.

I used to be a jeweler,

So, you know, I went to school To cut diamonds,

But I learned a lot About amethysts,

And it helps You sleep better.

It's antioxidants -- If you wear it,

It's supposed to put This little barrier around you.

It just was A sign of power,

It was really cool, So, yeah,

Amethyst would be Really great in the tank.

That's cool. I didn't Even know all that.

Maybe if you want to come back With us next time,

We can do some fish-shopping Or check on the turtle.

Something that kind of, like, Went into the wall.

Him and his wife want a tank For an old friend,

A fly river turtle.

On top of a three-foot Steel stand,

We're building a complicated Crescent-shaped tank

To fit perfectly Into the curve of their wall.

Standing eight-feet tall And more than seven-feet wide,

This 650-gallon aquarium

Will be the perfect home For a fly river turtle

And dozens Of freshwater fish.

Inside, we'll bling it out With chunks of amethyst

And we'll open up A large window

To give this tank Two unique views.

Best part? No barber chair required.

Building a crescent-shaped tank Is no easy task.

We got the acrylic in the oven As quickly as possible.

At the same time, The rest of the crew

Got started on the insert.

And I figured We'd put 'em on.

Once we got them positioned Like we wanted to,

Then we can go back And clear the entire thing,

Put a really thick Epoxy clear on it.

It will shine right up. Okay.

And then we're Going to coat this

To make it fish-safe, Right?

Oh, yeah, absolutely. Okay.

So, what's the plan?

All right, so, I'm looking at this picture

And it looks like there's Kind of a shape developing here.

We got a big one In the center.

Correct.

And then one on top, One on bottom,

And two on the left And right.

Correct. And then you have Some other little ones

That are pavé in there.

That's a pavé setting. Did you know that?

I never heard that word Before in my life.

Yeah, that's Called "Pavé."

In my past life, my dream Was to become a diamond-cutter.

Then I became An aquarium builder.

Now it feels so weird Because they're colliding.

All right, so, the first thing We're going to do

Is we're gonna Put this in the center.

Yep. So, I'll Just kind of stick those on,

Somewhere like that, And then this one right here.

We picked out The pieces of amethyst,

And denny has been working On casting and molding them.

Now I want to throw, like, A curveball at this.

I did bring some little lights To do some testing.

They actually go underwater.

They can blink, They can be a solid color.

And they got a remote.

I like the remote.

It's going to take all of Those to light it?

Let's find out.

I don't know. I don't know how bright it is.

I'm going to see what It's going to look like.

You're losing The purple, though.

This was designed To have no light,

Which looks great, But if you're going to light it,

Why don't we do A richer, darker purple?

And you know The deeper the amethyst,

The more expensive it is.

All right, well, Let me get material first.

So, this is A clear resin.

Equal parts? Equal parts.

So, we have to do this In a two-step process.

In order to get This clear on top,

I have to do A straight-clear first

And I rotate it around, So that it freezes in the mold.

And then the next one Is the color face.

And also, if you look At the back of this,

You can see That it's not a solid color.

There's a swirl in there. I like that.

From the front, You get that interesting --

It's just a really Inconsistent color.

Oh, it's getting thick quick. Look at that!

Looks like Jelly almost, huh?

That's done.

I can't just mix The color in solid,

Because it doesn't Look natural.

And then I add A little drop of color,

And I'm just going to swirl it To get that thing

That we talked About back here.

Okay.

Oh, wow. Look at that.

It just went Through there. Crazy.

I'm going to add A little bit of brown.

Oh, look How purple that is!

That purple Went a long way.

Okay, we still got A little bit of time.

Now we're going to Pour this in.

On top of that one? Mm-hmm, just like this.

We're adding More purple in.

And we want it really, Really rich.

I think it's a lot darker Than this one.

To have flippers Just like a sea turtle.

They used them to swim Quickly through the water,

Which they never leave Except to nest.

Their long, pig-like snouts Work like a snorkel for them

And has receptors That help them locate prey.

Cut the culet, do the pavilions And the star facets,

And polish it

So you can have something Made from my heart.

These guys come From northern australia

Or southern new guinea.

It's come a long way. Yes, a long way.

Most turtles, you know, They have claws.

This guy, since He's underwater 90% of his life,

They're webbed, so he can Actually swim extremely fast.

Wow. That's Pretty awesome.

Brett: they also have sensory Perceptions in their nose

That helps them Hunt for food.

Ooh, pretty. All right, so, right here,

You have A green terror cichlid.

And these guys come From south america,

They get to be About 10 to 12 inches.

So, they won't bother The turtle, will they?

No, even though these guys' name Is "Green terror,"

They're actually Passive fish.

Wayde: Look at that guy right there.

You see the colors On that one?

Yeah, that's nice Right there.

It's all shimmery, Kind of iridescent.

So, what about This orange one?

So, those guys are Red severums.

You see They do well together.

Yeah. Yeah. That'll be A good blend of color.

Hey, what's that?

So, that's A blue lobster.

It's not An actual lobster.

It's actually A blue crayfish.

These guys are great For the aquarium

Because the turtle's Going to eat

And sometimes They make a little mess.

These guys go on the bottom And sift and clean

Through the rocks And everything,

So all the crevices The fish can't get to,

These guys will get to.

So, they're great to have.

And those guys live About 20 years.

I love the color. The vibrant blue is beautiful.

Yeah, we got to get

At least about four Or five of these.

Brett: oh, yeah, We'll get you a bunch of those.

These guys right here, These are called mono sebaes,

And they're shaped Like diamonds.

Ashley: Those are so cool.

Okay, and you can see They're silver.

When they get older, Those black stripes go away.

And they actually stay Completely, like,

Silver shimmery.

I have these in my saltwater Aquarium inside my office.

These guys can actually Go into saltwater, as well?

Wayde: they're very unique. Let's say they're in freshwater,

And you want to migrate them To saltwater.

What you have to do is Gradually bring the salinity up.

Add a little salt, Add a little salt,

And then you can get them up To a saltwater tank

With saltwater fish.

Okay, That's pretty cool.

So what we did was To drop these crystals,

And they look Like diamonds.

They're fish-safe, And it's going to give you

Also in here, You have red-tail sharks,

And those guys are going to get To be about six inches.

And those guys Are scavengers,

And they're actually Going to eat a lot of the stuff

That's on the bottom Of the aquarium.

The coolest thing in the world About this turtle

Is that they actually Let you know

When your water Has bad quality.

They have these things Called plastrons,

And when they're adults, The plastrons are white,

And when they're juveniles, The plastrons are pink.

And it's on their body, And when they turn red,

That means the water quality Is not good.

Ashley: I cannot believe That you guys pulled this off.

I can't believe it!

Tell them how It started, wayde.

All right, I got to go first, Because I started it first.

Oh, boy.

So, you know, I grew up Building fish tanks

And taking care of them And servicing them.

I came out To the west coast,

And your dad Eventually met --

He was building His dream house out here,

And he wanted A beautiful fish tank.

So, during this process, I had to go to his house

And I saw a picture of heather, And she had a boyfriend.

And I told her I was in love With her, da, da, da,

I'm going to marry her, And then --

Excuse me. That's not Exactly how it happened.

You saw a picture And fell in love with me.

I said that.

But you didn't say that you used To find reasons

To come to my house, Even though I had a boyfriend,

And spend time At my house with me,

And then when things Weren't good, you were like,

"What's wrong?" And I'm like,

"Well, things just aren't Going so well."

And you said, "I'm going to Take you away and marry you."

I'm like, "Eww, but his car Has a red steering wheel

And a red stick shift." I had a beautiful porsche --

That was A very big turn-off.

20 years later, and Your dad's beautiful aquarium

Is still in the house,

And now we have Our own beautiful house
