What is it about a new car

That you think You can just cut it in half?

Keep it structurally sound.

And one more thing.

Keep it mobile.

I have to be able to move it From location to location,

Different auto shows To auto shows.

Wayde: we've turned vehicles Into tanks before,

But this one has To be mobile.

Eh, at least it has to roll, Not drive.

You want a tank in a car And it to move.

Well, I was told you guys Can do anything.

All right. We need to take A look at this thing.

Jack: I want people to still be Able to get into the car.

People don't see it necessarily As an aquarium right away.

They see it as a vehicle,

And there's almost like A surprise, like, "No way."

Normally, I would say "No way" To this tank request.

And we're gonna be able to put A car on display at sema.

To make the shape.

We'll stock this atm tank With some of our favorite fish

And keep them surrounded by All the flashy colors of vegas

With our vibrant, Handmade coral.

To make it function As a slot machine,

We'll keep the handle intact.

Give it a pull,

And an interactive video game Will display the results.

Odds are this thing Is gonna be a masterpiece.

Toyota took the engine out Of a brand-new 2014 highlander

And shipped it to the shop so we Can start making it into a tank.

And everyone has been eagerly Awaiting its arrival.

Who works with all kinds Of different materials,

To help us out with this build.

It's a new Toyota highlander.

Look at this thing, dude. Hop in the back.

How many people can you fit In this thing?

Probably about 300 fish.

We've got to actually tear This thing apart,

Believe it or not.

I want to make the front, People can climb into it, okay?

So, people will walk up To it.

They open the door. They can sit down.

And I want to have a window Right here,

So when you're sitting here,

You've got a window With the fish swimming.

So, it's like a taxicab. Bingo.

It's got the plexiglas here.

Hold your breath. You're underwater right now.

All this is water in here Right now.

Okay, okay.

We might have some problems With weight.

Good job, bro. Admitting it is the first step.

And this is where You come in.

We're gonna have to support This whole thing with steel.

The whole inside's gonna Have to be fiberglass.

And install a fiberglass shell To make the interior watertight.

Acrylic panels will give Visitors a view of all the fish

And the spongebob-themed Bikini bottom interior.

To seamlessly integrate The plumbing and life support,

We'll locate it where the engine Components used to sit.

You've heard of horsepower. This is fish power, baby.

I'm off to do A little research with heather.

Dune buggies, they can support

A lot of weight In a small frame.

I'm hoping to get some tips To help make

The toyota highlander tank Structurally sound

So it can hold a 3-ton tank And still be mobile.

A hydraulic jack can have A capacity up to 50 tons.

It can support Almost any object,

Like a car with An 800-gallon fish tank in it.

From corroding.

It can also add color To the steel.

Yeah, we're powder-coating it Chrome,

Like it was, back To its original state.

You don't want to do it, Like, atm blue or something?

Nah. I mean, we're gonna have Our logos on it.

I don't think it's necessary To do it in atm blue.

You know what that means? I'm handling it.

So, whatever color I decide it is, it is.

And he puts it in the oven And he bakes it.

And then, it comes out Powder-coated.

Ah, that's really cool.

You know this coral doesn't Exist anywhere in real life?

Yes, it does. It does in spongebob world.

In bikini bottom, It lives there.

Normally, our customers want Realistic corals,

So we mold actual pieces Of the corals

That you would see in the ocean.

Look at this. Where do you get Corals like this?

We've got to custom-sculpt All this coral.

Every single thing By hand.

Pretty serious Sculpt job here.

Dude, this is cool, though. Come on, spongebob, man.

Re-creating this cartoon Underwater world won't be easy,

But we're up for the challenge.

Do you want your daughter To run up to it and say,

"Daddy, it don't Look like that"?

We need to get the star ready For this coral insert.

The trick is figuring out The pose.

We had my dad use His modeling skills

From back in the day.

That's it. He's good at this.

Finally, I'm not Being underutilized.

Not only did we get The sculpture just right,

We got a good laugh Out of it.

The general did so well, I decided to put him in charge

Of something for The slot-machine tank, too.

So, look... All right.

I need you to get me A vinyl wrap.

No problem.

What we're gonna do is, We're gonna put up an aquarium

Against one of the walls.

The walls are, like, An l-shaped wall,

Like, look, like this. Right.

I want a vinyl wrap here And a vinyl wrap here.

Gotcha. They're both about 10 feet.

I want the backdrop To represent las vegas.

So, that means the skyline, Fremont street experience,

All the things that vegas is Made of, the glitz and glamour.

That's what I want to see on -- On -- on this wrap.

Yeah, but you know what?

If you're bringing A slot machine down, okay,

Why can't we have The beaches of florida?

I mean, that's really What it's about.

You have an office In florida.

The beaches of florida Are already down there.

I'm bringing vegas To florida.

Yeah, but I don't know If that's gonna fit.

But unfortunately, that's not My vision for this project.

We're busy in the shop.

Turning this vehicle into a tank Has been a huge undertaking,

And we only got one more week To finish it up.

So far, we gutted the truck, Reinforced the frame,

And made a watertight Fiberglass shell.

And one of my favorite parts About building this tank

Is making the filtration Look like a souped-up engine.

The radiator is, like, The protein skimmer.

It's right out front.

The computers, That's under the hood,

Like, right where The lights go.

We've got the uv over here.

That's actually where The exhaust goes.

That looks like the manifold's Going out.

Where's the chiller?

Man: It's actually right here.

So, the radiator and the fan That's in the radiator

Cools the engine.

Now, you've got the chiller With the chiller fan

To cool the tank...

Yep. In the same spot.

Pretty much. Not bad for a redneck.

With these two tank builds

Cruising along so smoothly At the shop,

Wayde and I get to go to l.A. To pick out fish.

While we give eric the lowdown On the toyota spongebob theme,

We have to make sure that The fish will be taken care of

In between shows.

You know, we have customers All over the country, too.

So, tell me where The car's going,

And then, We'll make arrangements

To have the fish Put in new homes...

In each new place,

So we don't have to ship them All overall the place.

And our next tank, We decided

To open up an office In south florida.

So, we want to bring vegas To south florida.

So, we came up With this idea

To do a huge Slot-machine tank.

Very compatible with all The other fish we got?

I think the cowfish would Represent spongebob really well,

With a square Kind of bottom...
