(Episode 37)

You said you won't apply for DL Group.

What made you change your mind?

Yu Ra says we have nothing to do with each other.

What reason do I have to avoid her?

I thought about it, and it was such a good opportunity.

Right.

You made the right decision.

By the way,

though I decided to apply for the job,

I'm having a hard time...

figuring out what to do first.

You have to come up with a theme for your marketing proposal first.

You find the right theme, I'm sure you'll have a fighting chance.

Okay.

Then I should go to the library and study marketing.

Hey.

Yu Ra.

Seo Jun has time today.

I made a dinner appointment for you, so go there tonight.

Thank you, Auntie.

This is the least I could do for you.

You know, because of last time.

Have you found the diamond earring yet?

No. I wonder where it went.

It's not like it can move on its own.

I'm sure I didn't drop it when I was outside.

Anyway, make sure to look really pretty tonight...

on your date with Seo Jun.

Win him over this time.

Okay.

Thank...

Chief Yu!

Thank you.

How is it going?

Did you come up with a theme?

I'm not sure what to choose.

It seems like marketing gets harder the more I study.

It's about capturing people's hearts.

Just reading books won't get you to where you want.

Let's go.

I'll show you how to study for real.

Why are we here?

You said you'll show me how to study for real.

To study marketing, you must figure out what people are wearing.

And DL Group pursues clothes that can be worn by anyone,

so you have to look for normal clothes.

I see.

Did you just see the couple's clothes?

The couple's clothes?

But they're wearing different clothes.

Which couple wears the exact same ones these days? It's old-fashioned.

They usually match the color or wear similar tones.

And people call it a similar look.

I see.

Wait. I should write that down.

They have the family look.

The family look?

They're not wearing matching outfits,

but take a look at the shoes.

People mostly think about clothes when talking about fashion,

but shoes are also important in fashion.

Okay.

How do you know all these so well?

To get into DL,

I studied for a while.

As you said,

I wouldn't have learned these if I only read books in the library.

Thank you so much.

I've learned a lot thanks to you.

I'm glad I helped.

Are you okay?

Yes.

I should get going.

Okay. Good luck.

What is wrong with me?

Yu Jung, get a grasp.

Fix your eyes on the contest for now.

These are the documents for the directors' meeting tomorrow morning.

You should check them now as they're urgent.

This many?

All right.

Hi, Auntie.

I have a lot of work to do, and I don't think I can make it.

Can we take a rain check?

What? No!

I'm almost there.

Already?

What should I do?

I think this will take some time.

I'll wait, so be there even if you're late.

All right?

Auntie.

Dinner's ready. You can eat now.

Auntie.

Wasn't that my mother?

You said you were out.

Yes, well...

- I'll order when my company's here. - Sure.

Why is he calling?

Hello?

You're now using Auntie?

Seo Jun.

That's not it.

She found out we argued and set it up.

Think about your aunt and at least have dinner.

I'll wait.

I'll tell my aunt,

so don't wait and go home.

No,

I'm going to wait until you come here.

Do as you please.

I've made myself clear.

Are they only having dinner?

They said so,

but I guess they're watching a movie or something as they're late.

Yes.

Seeing how late they are, they must be together right now.

Mi Ri.

What are you saying?

What?

Oh, it's nothing.

I apologize. We're about to close the restaurant.

Why are you here alone?

Where's Yu Ra?

She didn't come home yet?

Don't tell me you didn't go to the restaurant.

It's raining so much.

Oh, my.

Yu Ra.

Have you been waiting for Seo Jun all this time?

While getting rained on?

I'll go upstairs to my room.

Why on earth did you not show up?

You should have at least called her if you weren't going.

Yu Ra.

Were you waiting for me?

I told you I'd wait.

I said I won't go.

Still, I thought you'd come.

Why do you try so hard?

Because I want to make it work.

You asked me...

if I'm using your aunt.

Yes, I did ask Mi Ri.

Even though you won't open up your mind to me,

I still want to keep trying.

We married without love,

but if I try,

I was hoping that you'd recognize me...

and open up to me.

But I guess I was wrong.

It seems...

that...

you don't see...

how much I'm trying.

You're sleeping in your study as always, right?

Are you sick?

Don't mind me.

Where's Yu Ra?

She's feeling sick.

She's sick?

Isn't that because she got soaked from the rain yesterday?

She got soaked in rain?

I thought she was having dinner with you yesterday.

Oh, right. She was with Seo Jun yesterday.

It slipped my mind.

How sick is she?

I don't think she could go to work today.

I should tell the housekeeper to make some porridge.

Thank you for understanding, Mrs. Yoon.

Don't worry about here and focus...

on preparing for the contest.

All right.

I'll be back with good news soon.

Okay.

I said I'd return with good news,

but this is so difficult.

What theme do I have to come up with?

How do I look today, Dong Ho?

You look awesome!

Do I?

I need to look awesome today, so that's good to hear.

I want to look awesome like you too.

I want to try on your clothes.

It'll be too big for you.

You'll have to eat well,

things like cucumber, carrot, and spinach to get tall.

Then I'll let you wear it.

See you later.

Where are you going?

I'm going out to see someone.

- I'll see you at home later. - Okay.

I should set the concept already.

Where did Dong Ho go, by the way?

Dong Ho!

What are you doing here?

How do I look, Mom?

Do I look awesome?

Oh, dear.

Your uncle won't like to see this. Let's take it off.

No!

I want to look awesome like Uncle.

What do you mean?

Your clothes are also awesome.

No, they're not. I'm going to wear Uncle's clothes.

Everything looks cool when Uncle wears it.

This is it.

Dong Ho, thank you!

Yes, Yu Jung.

Chief Yu, I came up with the concept.

Did you? What is it?

A family look that...

grandfather, father, and the son can wear together.

- A family look? - Yes.

Kids try on adults' clothes because they want...

to look cool like adults.

And when people get older, they try to look younger.

A family look will meet such needs,

and people will come together as a family.

It sounds great. Keep up the good work.

Okay, thank you.

I'll do my best.

That's right, Yu Jung.

Do your best.

And you must...

end up here at DL.

Are you looking for something, sir?

Is there a part-timer whose name is Ye Jin?

Are you here to see her?

Are you her friend?

Yes, I'm her friend.

Oh, you are?

I'm her mother.

Oh, it's a pleasure to meet you.

But she's not here at the moment.

Have you called her?

Actually,

I lost touch with her a long time ago.

Then I spotted her working here recently.

But I was in a hurry and couldn't ask her number.

Is that so?

Geez, I'm out of coffee.

I should get another.

What are you doing?

I went to where you work.

Your mother let me know that you're studying here.

Gosh, she's not helping.

Have a word with me.

I've given it a lot of thought and courage to see you.

I think we have nothing to talk about.

Just give me a second.

What do you want to say?

The woman I went to your place together...

was not my girlfriend.

She was my client and I was acting as her boyfriend.

You misunderstood.

So?

Why are you explaining that to me?

I don't want any misunderstandings between us.

If there's one, I'd like to resolve it.

And incidents a few days before and five years ago.

I went through a lot after I broke up with you.

Sure, my first intention was ill.

But later on, I really came to like you.

I even went to your family's restaurant...

to tell my feelings to you. But...

the owner was changed.

Your number didn't exist anymore...

and you deleted all of your social media accounts.

I had to apologize...

when I get to meet you.

I'm sorry that I broke...

your heart.

Okay.

That was quite a speech.

I can leave now, right?

When you smile at me,

my heart fluttered so much.

Ye Jin, I...

want my heart to flutter again...

by you.

No.

That won't happen again.

Bye.

- There. - Geez.

Gosh, why do you want us to wear this?

There's a marketing contest,

but I need some photos to use for my presentation.

Grandpa, my mom is going to work at a company.

What? A company?

I can get in only if I win the contest.

Is that right? Then you'd better take some nice photos.

Yes! You have to look good.

Is that right?

But why isn't Yu Myung home yet?

I'm home.

Good timing.

Get changed to these quickly.

What is this?

Your sister needs this in order to get hired.

She just needs to take our photos.

I'm not in the mood for this kind of thing.

What mood?

Your sister's dream depends on it. Go get changed now.

Yes, help me out, Yu Myung.

Uncle, please help my mom.

Okay, fine.

- Stand at attention. - I feel embarrassed.

No, you all look great.

Make a Superman pose now.

Dong Ho is the best at that.

Superman!

- Superman! - Superman!

- Let's make a palanquin now. - Palanquin?

Hold on. A palanquin.

Dong Ho is getting on a palanquin today.

- Hooray! - Hooray!

- Hooray! - How nice.

- Yes! - Yes!

- Very good. - Dong Ho is doing great.

Are you still ill?

Have you seen a doctor?

Don't mind me.

Here are some pills, so take them.

Are you taunting me after what you did?

It's not that.

I didn't think you had a chance to go see a doctor.

We're only registered as a family.

Why would you bother getting me medicine?

I'll worry about my business as you said so, Seo Jun.

Yu Jung, let's eat!

Grandma, not so loud.

Mom's working, so we have to be quiet.

So, you're applying for a job?

What company is it?

It's just a clothing company.

Is that right?

And you have to study this hard?

Oh, my.

You should retake the application photo as something nice.

DL?

Are you doing this to get into DL?

Well, the thing is...

Are you crazy?

What if you run into Yu Ra?

Why would I run into her...

when she works at a broadcasting station?

How can you guarantee that?

Don't go.

No. I'm going to go.

I told you to not go.

You know how I am if I get angry.

Mom, Yu Ra abandoned us.

She treats us like strangers. Why do I have to let go...

of a good chance because of her?

What?

Anyway, don't go if I tell you not to.

I don't want to. I'm going to go.

Look at you talk.

Mom!

Seriously!

What do I do?

The deadline for the contest is tomorrow.

I wonder if she's doing fine.

Hello, Yu Jung.

How's the preparation going?

Chief Yu,

I don't think I can make it for the contest.

What? What are you talking about?

How did your laptop get broken?

I stepped on its power cord...

and it fell off the desk.

The deadline is tomorrow morning.

I won't make it this time, right?

Let's give it a try. I'll help you.

Really?

Thank you so much, Chief Yu.

What should I do first?

You need to work on the presentation first, right?

Next is "Differentiated Marketing Strategy One."

"It is a basic design which may come off simple,"

"but it can meet the needs of different age groups."

Okay.

And add a photo next to it too.

Like this?

Yes, that's good.

Oh, no.

I'm so sorry.

I fell asleep. Oh, gosh.

What should I do now?

Right.

You have to attach the photos...

I took at home.

These ones?

Yes.

It's done.

I finished it thanks to you. Thank you so much.

It finished quickly as you had everything prepared.

You did so much for me today.

I promise to repay you.

Even if I don't make it,

I'll treat you to a great meal. Please make some time for that.

How fortunate.

Next week?

No. You know that my husband is busy.

Yes.

Let's just meet among ourselves.

Is there...

a gathering next week?

I think I can make some time if it's next week.

What do you mean?

I thought about it,

and although I can't make it all the time,

it'd be okay to go from time to time.

Tell me the date and location.

I'll clear my schedule on that day.

It feels much easier as the headquarter...

looks after everything.

You're right.

I think the business will go well.

Hello!

We have our first customer!

Welcome!

The restaurant is so big and nice.

Here you go, Mrs. Yoon. All the luck with your new business.

Thank you for coming on our opening day, Yu Jung.

Of course, I should.

It's to congratulate the opening of your business...

as well as Ye Jin on getting hired.

Ye Jin got her results for the open recruitment.

Did you hear anything about the result of the contest?

No.

I don't think it was good as I made the presentation in a hurry.

I'm going to try again next time.

It's so unfortunate.

It would have been great to work with you.

Ye Jin, work harder on my behalf.

Okay, Yu Jung.

That's right, Yu Jung. Is there anything you want to eat?

The flatfish and rockfish are really fresh today.

Or grilled shrimp since it's fall.

Shrimp! Shrimp sounds delicious too.

The gizzard shad is good too.

One moment.

Hello?

Yes, I'm Han Yu Jung.

What? Really?

Okay, thank you.

Thank you!

Mrs. Yoon, I got into DL!

Is that true? Congratulations!

I'm so happy for you, Yu Jung.

It was worth the effort.

Right. I'll have to go home.

I want to tell my family about this.

One moment.

I'll get you some sashimi, so take it and eat it with your family.

Congratulations!

I'm so happy for you.

What did I say? I knew Yu Jung would make it.

Congratulations, Yu Jung.

I knew you'd make it.

So, when's your first day?

It's next week.

What's up now, Mom?

Aren't you happy Yu Jung got hired?

I'm happy she's working.

But why does it have to be DL out of all the companies?

Mom, there's no reason I'd run into Yu Ra at work.

Even if I do, I'll just avoid her.

Yu Jung, there's no need for you to be bothered by that.

You just need to do your job well.

Just take this.

What is that?

Mom.

You went out right after hearing Yu Jung got hired.

Did you go out to buy this?

It's a fashion company after all.

You should dress up accordingly.

Wear it on your first day of work.

Is this because you felt bad about breaking her laptop?

You are never honest.

Thank you, Mom. I'll happily wear it.

We're done congratulating, right?

Let's eat the sashimi now.

You have to eat this while it's fresh.

I thought we were giving a memorial service.

You're right. Let's eat!

Let's eat.

- Help yourself. - This is snapper.

It's good.

Is it fresh? Chew every bite.

Hello, Yu Jung.

Chief Yu, I made it!

I can work in DL now.

That's great. Congratulations.

It's all thanks to you.

Thank you for helping me.

Yu Jung,

I have a favor to ask you.

I think it's better...

we pretend not to know each other if we run into one at work.

It could give the wrong idea to other people.

Okay. I understand.

I'll do so.

Okay. Good luck on your first day.

Yu Jung!

Ye Jin.

You know we're in the same team, right?

I was worried about adjusting here among all these strangers.

I'm so glad you're here.

I look forward to working with you!

Likewise.

Should we get in, then?

- Okay. - Let's go!

You didn't forget about tonight's gathering, right?

I haven't. See you at the meeting place.

Are you ready?

We have to go greet the new employees.

Yes. I can head out now.

Let's go, Min Hyuk.

I'm the chief of the sales and marketing team, Baek Min Won.

And she is...

I'm Eom Hae Su.

I'm Song Jin Ho.

- Nice to meet you. - Nice to meet you.

The director said he'd be coming.

Introduce yourselves to the director.

Yes. Hello, I'm Han Yu Jung.

- What? - What?
