Who is that?

Oh, it's you, Yan Qing.

Yes, it's me.

How did you know that my place was...

Of course, Ms Li Shishi, the infamous courtesan.

Your place is often frequented by the Emperor.

Please don't say that.

You almost got into trouble the last time you were here.

Why are you...

How did you get in?

It isn't a very tall wall.

It couldn't stop me.

I have a favor to ask.

Not yet...

Since you're here, I want something from you.

If you oblige, I'll help you.

How can I help you?

Anything at all. You name it.

It's not what you think.

It's just that... I hear you have tattoos.

I'd like to take a look.

That...

You're no stranger to the brothels.

Yan Qing, the prodigy.

Don't tell me you're shy.

The Emperor's here.

Your Majesty.

Please stand up.

Leave us.

We're in a brothel, not in the palace.

There's no need for formalities.

Please have a seat, Your Majesty.

Shishi, come sit beside me.

Please have a drink.

Why don't you play some music?

Aren't you bored with my music?

I've got a surprise for you.

A surprise?

Great... Who is he?

He plays the pipa very well.

He's my brother. He's been traveling all over,

and has just returned today.

Ask your brother to come outside.

My brother's a criminal on the run.

He's afraid to meet you.

I'll give him a pardon.

If you could write an imperial pardon.

Sure.

Thank you, Your Majesty.

Please.

What's your brother's name?

Yan Qing.

There, it's done.

Please come out here and thank the Emperor.

Your Majesty.

Looks like you've got a lot of talent

and are not just a common criminal.

You say that you've committed a crime,

yet the music you played is so melancholy.

May I ask the nature of your crime?

I've already written your pardon, so please tell me.

I'm a General from the Liang Shan troops.

Liang Shan troops?

Your Majesty, our motto is...

loyalty and righteousness.

We have no intention of rebelling against you.

We do not harm civilians.

Corrupt officials and governors are the true enemies.

We just want to help our country under an amnesty.

Our country is in turmoil, Fang La is rebelling.

His power is growing in Jiangnan.

He has occupied eight states and twenty-five counties.

I've been informed that

there are 108 Liang Shan heroes

that are all talented.

Maybe they can conquer Fang La before the pardon.

If me my brothers and I could be pardoned for

going against Fang, we would be willing to die for the country.

Well said. You're a good man.

Brother.

Brother.

Xiaowu, go and tell everyone

about what's going on here.

Remember, the iron gate is linked to the wooden fences.

You have to open the iron gate first.

That way, the boats won't be able to enter.

Hurry, go.

Fang La has many soldiers.

Hangzhou City is surrounded by water.

This makes it difficult to invade but easy to defend.

Our strategy did not work.

We lost several good brothers.

I'm a strong swimmer.

I'm ready to take on any order!

We will need you for sure, Zhang Shun.

The Ruan brothers were strong swimmers too.

They died there!

The moat there is solid and the situation is unclear.

We have to prepare another plan.

Our troops retreated, you need another plan.

The gates will be opened later.

I'd rather send someone to the city to spy.

That way, we can work from the inside and the outside.

I'll volunteer.

Mr. Lu, of 108 men,

I think Yan Qing is the best man for the job.

He's smart and fluent in many dialects.

He is my first pick.

Will you take this job, Yan Qing?

We will be pardoned after we kill the rebel Fang La.

The Emperor personally promised this to me.

I am willing to do this.

Will you go with him, Shi Jin?

Of course.

This is a risky expedition.

Be very careful.

This is a great opportunity.

I have spent everything I have to learn various skills.

Shi Xiu the 'Rash'.

Brother Shi Xiu.

I will go. Shi Bao killed my sword brother Yang Xiong.

I want to get even!

Sir, I'm right here.

I want to go too.

You're not allowed to go, Li Kui.

There's no need to yell.

You think you know!

Didn't you hear that Hangzhou is surrounded by water?

You're a good fighter, but a poor swimmer.

Remember the time when you were in Jiangzhou?

You almost drowned, didn't you?

I beat you when we were on shore!

But you almost drowned in the water.

Brother Zhang,

what happened?

That year, Brother Song Jiang was in Jiangzhou.

He said he wanted to eat fresh fish.

What's going on?

He's crazy, he's beating everyone up.

Go...

Get me a big fish, and hurry!

You let all the fish go.

I don't care, I want a big one!

Zhang Shun's here!

Who's making a scene here?

I am

Black Whirlwind

Li Kui

If it wasn't for Song Jiang and Yuechen...

I would have killed you.

And then what happened?

Black Whirlwind

Stay put, chicken.

You...

Come up here!

Enough, Brother Li, Brother Zhang.

We need both of you to help out.

Let's go.

We need more than a couple but too many would spoil the game.

Zhang Qing and his wife Sun will be there too.

Seven will go in the first expedition to Hangzhou.

You will be the scouts.

Okay.

Your Majesty.

Go...

Hurry!

Go...

Please help me...

Since His Majesty isn't here yet, can you please let me through?

My child is sick and needs a doctor right away.

I've been waiting a long time.

Please, officers...

Do we have a problem here?

But my child is very sick!

This is urgent!

Fine, go ahead.

Thank you.

Don't, it's a trap.

Let me go.

Assassin

Do you have a sick child back at home too?

Let's go, hurry.

Go that way.

Come on.

Hurry!

Go...

The Emperor is here.

Move over.

The Emperor is here.

The Emperor has arrived.

General Shi.

Someone was causing a scene earlier.

He called himself The Black Whirlwind of Liang Shan.

Has he been arrested?

He fled into the alley.

You've gotten us into trouble.

Well, I won't take this nonsense!

What did the commander tell you?

What have you done this time?

There are soldiers everywhere.

They're all looking for the Black Whirlwind.

The news got out that quickly?

Stop bothering me!

If I'm angry enough, I'll take my axe and...

kill my way through Fang La's palace!

Brother Li.

Relax.

You'll have the chance to use your axe

I wonder if the others have heard anything...

close to the palace.

The Emperor is returning to the palace!

Your Majesty.

The Liang Shan outlaws are closing in on us.

They are less than 200 miles from the city.

We've heard that...

Wu Song is in charge.

Who in the hell does Wu Song think he is?

They will all die here in Hangzhou.

Fang La returned to his palace early today.

Our troops must be near.

If they're coming...

we wouldn't be able to help them in time.

According to what we've seen,

Fang La's strongest army is in the city.

We are no match for them.

Since we got here...

we haven't done anything.

We will have to take action.

Let's discuss this with Brother Yan Qing later.

You are responsible for security.

How many are there?

You are my aides in this rebellion.

I'm the emperor and you are my generals.

The Liang Shan troops are getting closer.

I can understand chaos at the front lines

But this should not be happening in the city.

Emperor, I will search every household.

I'll find them all.

There's no need.

That's not their main goal.

You're saying...

They are in the city acting as spies.

We should close the gates

and step up security around the palace.

General Shi and General Si will patrol the city.

We have to defend the moat first.

We shouldn't be worrying about the outlaws.

That's very true.

Order all ten gates to be closed.

No one is to be let thru without an imperial order.

Yes.

There are ten gates in Hangzhou.

Four of them are by the lake, they are...

Qiantangmen, Yongjinmen,

Qingbomen, Qianhumen.

All of their boats are hidden...

behind Qingbomen.

Without boats, they assume we won't attack.

Yongjinmen has water gates.

If we can pass the water gates and open the door,

then our navy could attack them that way.

The army can then go in from the coastline.

They'll be caught off guard.

All we'll have to do is inform our commander

so that the troops can be ready.

As for the job of opening up the water gates...

Let me go.

Okay, let's go back to the inn first.

All the gates are out of bounds.

They must be getting closer.

How do we contact our troops?

The commander is waiting for our news.

The gates are shut.

Someone needs to sneak out.

Let's wait until dawn. I've got a plan.

What plan?

It's boring staying inside all day!

Shi Xiu is lucky.

He has already been able to fight.

I don't understand why we...

have to wait until the morning.

All the gates are closed. Security will be tight at night.

It would be more difficult.

We could use your help tomorrow, Brother Li.

Would you be okay if you were alone at the gate?

This is going to be exciting!

Please, we can't just sacrifice Brother Li.

We don't have enough men.

As long as I can get out of the city,

you stand by for assistance and then

get out of there as soon as possible.

But it could get worse for him.

I...

That's right. Well, forget it..

I swear, I'll leave when I'm told

This is important.

This isn't a game.

I know.

Go back.

Where are you going?

Can't we leave the city during the day?

Are you challenging me?

You're the rebels, but you're accusing me?

Attack!

I am Black Whirlwind Li Kui!

He's the Black Whirlwind.

Go.

Hurry...

Tell Li to retreat.

Brother Li, retreat.

Brother Li.

What are you doing?

These guys are nothing.

If you don't leave, then we'll leave you.

Fine.

Brother Li is unbelievable.

You guys go ahead.

I'll stay behind with Brother Li.

Shi Xiu.

You are a good brother.

Go.

Bastard!

At least someone looks important!

Who are you?

So you are the Black Whirlwind.

Don't you know me? I am General Shi Bao.

He is Shi Bao.

Brother Shi Xiu.

Run, Brother Li. Get out of here!

That's the Black Whirlwind?

Hold on.

What is it, General?

He's has company, let me follow him.

Wait for me at the gate, watch for my signal.

Okay.

Who are you?

General Li Tianrun.

Nice timing.

You can pick up your soldier, General Bao's, body!

And who are you?

Liang Shan hero, Shi Xiu the Rash.

Today I took the life of Shi Bao.

I have avenged my sworn brother Yang Xiong.

Where's Shi Xiu?

He's still fighting.

He asked me to leave first.

Do you think he'll make it?

Let's go first.

I see, you're using a diversion.

Are you going to inform your troops?

I'm nobody.

I don't understand what you mean.

You are somebody.

Everyone has heard of Yan Qing the Prodigy.

You met the Sung Emperor at the famous courtesan...

Li Shishi's brothel. You asked for a pardon

on behalf of the 108 men of Liang Shan.

And you call yourself a nobody?

You've done your research.

I hear you're quite good at wrestling.

You're into wrestling too?

I'm known as the first wrestler in Jiangnan.

So, you are one of the four major generals.

General Si Xingfang.

You may be the best wrestler in Jiangnan,

but I'm the best everywhere.

What do you want?

I'll defeat you,

and then cut your head off for everyone to see!

Wait. If you lose...

you could still kill me because you have plenty of men.

The best wrestler of Jiangnan...

is no match for the best wrestler in the country!

Come on...

If you take one step further,

your General will die!

I'm borrowing your horse.

Horse...

Brother Yan Qing is here.

Brother Yan Qing.

What happened? We hadn't heard any news about you.

Brother Wu Song, it was tough getting.

Has the Commander devised a play yet?

The Commander is worried.

I'll take you to him.

Great.

Brother Yan Qing is here.

Commander.

Yan Qing is here.

What are you doing here, Prince?

The Liang Shan gang was here?

Yes.

There were two others besides the Black Whirlwind.

One of them was Shi Jin, the Nine Tattooed Dragon.

I'm not sure about the third one.

Three against three.

We need to capture them alive,

so that all of Hangzhou will see

that we are not incompetent.

And it will be a blow to their morale.

I can't wait for the world to praise us.

This is exactly how I planned it!

That's why I am here.

We'll succeed when the crowned Prince goes into action.

We better be careful and keep a low profile.

Where's Zhang Qing and his wife Sun, the witch?

I'll go and find them.

Be careful, Shi Jin.

Do you recognize me?

Are you walking around in a disguise, Your Majesty, the Prince?

No one is winning.

Everyone let go of each other.

We'll fight.

What are you talking about, Brother Zhang?

Take Fang Tianding.

Shi Jin, you...

What are we doing here?

Have you forgotten?

Let's go.

Shi Jin, I'll stay with you.

It's all because of you.

No...

No...

No way.

Run!

Come on now, you are the Generals.

Are you thirsty?

Don't worry about him. Let's go home first.

Please come again, sir.

If he insists on drinking,

then this would be a good place.

You go inside and I'll take a look around.

Okay.

Inform the officials that the Liang Shan gang is here.

A huge reward goes to those leading the soldiers.

Go on...

Are you hiding the Liang Shan outlaws?

I didn't know who they were...

You are not going anywhere, Shi Jin.

And neither is the Prince.

For the life of Shi Jin...

to trade with the Prince and a General.

I am very honored.

You heard me... I'm Shi Jin!

Brother Shi Jin?

He died courageously!

He killed Li Tianrun.

We've already lost two brothers...

out of seven of us.

Fang Tianding.

You need to give up your life for my brothers Shi Jin and Shi Xiu!

Although, you're nothing compared to them.

Yan Qing snuck out of town, he must have...

contacted his troops. I'm sure he'll be back.

He has no idea about the situation here.

If he goes back to the inn,

he'll find out everything.

If we capture Yan Qing, the Emperor will be very happy.

Step up security around the inn.

All of our men

need to be disguised as civilians

so that Yan Qing will walk into our trap.

Yes, sir.

We are not sure how Yan Qing will enter,

therefore we can't warn him.

I'll keep watch around the inn

and send out a signal when I see him.

Great, we'll meet up with you later.

If we can hang him in front of the palace

the whole town will be shocked!

Fang La's army is always lax before a battle.

Good.

First write the note and then untie him.

Take him out while he's still drunk.

We'll treat you to a drink.

Officer, this one has a serious stomachache.

I don't care.

Please give me a horse.

This man is dying.

Can anyone help us.

It's the Prince.

What's the situation?

The street is full of Fang La's men.

I assume they're waiting for Yan Qing to fall into their trap.

What should we do?

Yan Qing will never figure this out.

But we don't know which way he's coming from.

Let's split up and cover different grounds.

Brother Zhang, go with Black Whirlwind.

The Commander has the perfect plan.

Let the enemy think we're approaching from the north gate,

but we will actually invade Yongjinmen.

Brother Zhang will be there at noon.

We will defeat everyone when he opens the water gate.

The Commander also said that...

when our troops invade Yongjinmen,

Fang La will flee through the north gate.

I'll wait for him there.

Let me have some of the glory.

We will invade at noon.

If the water gate is not opened by then,

we will be defeated with our troops at that height.

This is crucial.

Be careful.

Brother Wu, it's time.

You lead the brothers and distract the Garrison troops.

I will enter the city.

I heard that Prince Fang Tianding

was left hanging at the flag pole outside his father's palace

by the Liang Shan heroes.

And he had a note written by them

telling the whole town not to worry.

Last night, half of Fang La's army ran away.

They had to force some civilians to guard the gates.

Brother Yan.

Go.

Move.

Sir, you're back?

Your friends have been waiting for you.

Is that so?

Please ask them to come outside.

Yan Qing, where are you going?

Hurry, Yan Qing has arrived at the inn!

Lay me down. Put me next to him.

No need to worry! I'm here!

Brother Zhang, let's go.

What are we going to do about the Black Whirlwind?

Brother Zhang.

It's a bad situation, but it's all up to us now.

We have to let Brother Li take care of everything here.

Come on, let's go.

Go.

The Black Whirlwind is here!

Who wants to fight?

Get him!

Wait a second.

What is it?

I heard that you're a good wrestler

Yes I am. I've only lost once, to Brother Yan Qing.

You know, I defeated Yan Qing!

That's nonsense!

You want to wrestle?

Bring it on!

I'm willing to risk my life just to fight you all!

Come on, huddle up. Don't let him go.

Go...

Excellent!

Kill him...

Let's go back to the palace.

Invading Yongjinmen was a good plan.

The guards over there...

drove the boats right inside the city.

They didn't expect our troops to invade there.

Once our troops take over,

Fang La's army will surrender.

But they do have guards posted there.

Brother Zhang, you...

I'm known as "White Streak in the Waves".

If I die in the water, my name will live on forever.

Our army led by Song Jiang

is ready to fight now.

Brother Zhang, you should go now.

Okay.

I'll wait for you at the palace.

Do not let Fang La escape.

It's time.

Brothers, let's make our move!

This time, we will get our revenge

If Brother Zhang Shun...

There is very little security at Yongjinmen.

Brother Zhang is a strong swimmer.

He should be alright. Don't worry.

Who is in the water?

There's no way.

Maybe it's the fish.

Spears!

Xiaowu.

Brother...

Brother Zhang.

Brother Zhang sacrificed himself.

Brothers, let's kill the enemy!

The Liang Shan troops have invaded Yongjinmen.

They have entered the city.

Why didn't our troops respond?

There are a countless number of Liang Shan troops...

who are already in the city.

You should leave soon.

How did they do it?

It was Zhang Shun.

He opened the gate for them.

Your Majesty, we're running out of time!

Which way?

We're surrounded by them.

I think the north gate is clear.

We can take that path.

Get the army to escort me.

We're losing, Your Majesty!

There are only a few of us left to escort you out.

Hurry. The Emperor is here. Let's go fight!

Hurry...

Hurry...

Look what has happened to the losers.

It seems nobody cares anymore.

I've been waiting for you for a long time.

Hurry. Leave.

Go.

I'm Yan Qing of Liang Shan.

Where did Fang La go?

He went up the hill.

Your Majesty, you shouldn't stay long.

You're all very loyal.

You should be my Generals.

You're too slow, Your Majesty.

Your Majesty, don't worry.

Yan Qing is badly injured.

Yan Qing.

Fang La, I'm proud of myself.

I've just lost one arm trying to kill you.

I cut off one of your arms, and you're bragging about it?

Brother Yan Qing.

Brother Wu Song.

They are both dead!

Even though he's already dead, I'm not going to run away.

Mission accomplished, but we've lost so many brothers!
