Previously on Australian Survivor... Go!
..12 Champions...
Come on, guys!
..and 12 Contenders...
Lift! Lift! Give it all you've got!
..embarked on the biggest game of their lives.
Champions, we're coming for you.
The Contenders came out strong.
Contenders win immunity!
Sending the Champions to Tribal Council,
night after night.
But with tribe swap...
It seems to me like the Contenders tribe has imploded.
..came opportunity...
Champions finally win immunity!
..and the playing field was even once more.
We are merging.
It's a six versus six battle at this point of the game.
But when Daisy won reward and scored an idol...
This could be a game changer.
..and Shaun brought home the immunity necklace,
the Contenders were looking pretty good.
We've got a little bit of power right now.
It's time to make a big move.
But David wasn't losing confidence.
We send a Contender home,
it opens the door for the Champions to storm through.
He knew there was one contender the others would flip on.
Andy.
I really don't trust Andy.
- All of the numbers on Andy. - Everyone's in.
OK.
But Shaun wasn't rolling over.
I feel the old Champs right now are playing very arrogantly.
It's equal numbers and they're just getting what they want.
I need to convince Daisy to play her idol for Andy and send David home.
I think it would be a huge move.
But...
Daisy's got an idol and I want to flush that thing tonight
as well as get Andy out.
At Tribal Council...
When someone's getting a lot of heat
it doesn't necessarily mean they're going home.
..David's plan worked like a charm...
I'm playing this for me.
This is a hidden immunity idol.
..flushing Daisy's idol and getting rid of Andy.
The tribe has spoken.
But it was Andy who had the last laugh.
Dave has an idol.
Ooh...
11 are left.
Who will be voted out tonight?
- You know what's funny? - What?
The bloody strut on him.
Dave doesn't mind wearing flamboyant clothes and strutting around.
He looks like a bit of a peacock half the time.
I mean, if you've got it, flaunt it, I suppose, but,
I don't know, not really my cuppa.
Dave's island fashion is very clear.
There's very minimal shirts
and maximum accessories.
For a model, he's going to have some interesting tastes,
but, oof, the sarong.
Oh, Mother Teresa.
I wouldn't so much call it a sarong as I do a "so wrong" with David.
Sometimes I need to remind Dave we're playing Survivor
and it's not Next Top Model.
My basic theory is to be just go topless to every challenge.
I mean, I know what the model stereotype is
and I've been playing up to that the entire time.
Black is always the coolest colour.
But when you've got all black
it's nice to have a splash of:
But I'm running the game,
and even though Andy tried to blow up my game last night
it was actually a total shot in the dark from Andy.
He definitely doesn't know I have an idol.
And no-one's going to believe that, so I've got nothing to worry about.
I am sitting pretty.
I've got an idol in my pocket
and I'm going to strut all the way to Sole Survivor.
Day 31 and I'm still here.
Last night things went to plan.
We were able to force the Contenders to come our way
and take one of their own.
Andy went home. Yah!
So now Champions are still strong.
Myself, David, Janine, Pia, Abbey and Simon.
We've got the numbers, so we can pick off the Contenders.
When you came into here, how well did you think you'd go?
I didn't know.
I just didn't want to embarrass myself.
I wanted to make sure that, you know,
your family's proud of what you do.
Janine's a strong woman, because at 53 she's still challenging herself.
What I think I'll leave this with is,
I can do more than I think I'm capable of.
She could be sitting there on a massage chair while drinking juices,
you know, rolling in money somewhere.
But she's not.
She's out here, dirty as, starving,
all because she wants to push herself
because she wants to prove to her family, her kids, her friends,
that she can do this and she can do it well.
It's like, from my perspective, I didn't know you,
other than what I seen on TV,
and you always think, oh, you know,
what that person would be like under pressure.
What did you think?
I'm really not one to judge a book by its cover.
People do draw a conclusion that you are a certain type.
Exactly.
And like, from day one to now, you still stayed the same.
Oh, good.
You know, I grew up in probably a similar way you did.
There was absolutely no money.
Me and Janine are different, but same same.
I've got a bit more tattoos than Janine,
I may be a little bit better looking, a bit younger,
but some people just click, you know?
And, you know, we have a laugh together.
And I think that we could potentially make it five
if we stick it out.
When I sit down and look at the toughest people out here,
I think of you, you know what I mean?
Oh, thanks.
Because it's like you shouldn't expect it.
I've got to say, right back at you, though.
What you find is, it doesn't matter what your background is,
who is the core of the person?
If I was to describe Luke, I would say he's one of the good guys.
He sees life in a way that's all positive,
and I love that in Luke.
You're positively biased.
- What do they say? - A positive battery.
- You're a positive battery. - Absolutely.
Relationships are always relevant in the game.
If you can actually find connections with individual people, then,
you know, when there's a time where they're thinking about
putting your name down, they may not.
So relationships are everything in this game.
How good is this?
- Yeah. - You know what I mean?
Right now, the best thing for me
is definitely to keep my relationships strong with everyone
because this is a social game
and the strongest bonds are going to be tested
and I need to be ready for it.
Do you know, the best thing about alliances are,
is alliances that no-one would ever think of.
Exactly right. Yeah.
It's worked out. And now we're working together.
My strategy is to work from the middle, move with numbers,
and make sure I always have the power in terms of information.
Luke is my sort of window into the Champions tribe
and right now they've got the majority
so I'd need to find out where his head's at.
Hold this one for me? Cheers.
- What's happening tomorrow? - I have no clue.
I don't get a feeling of who is up at the moment,
other than maybe Shaun.
I feel that the six Champions are still pretty unified.
Yeah.
Look, I think like it's Shaun.
I think a lot of people have Shaun on their mind.
It's just a matter of if he gets... if he wins immunity.
Here's my thing, right?
I would rather get rid of physical threats sooner rather than later.
And that's in my eyes, Shaun and Blacky.
Yeah.
And I think we need to get rid of some of them
- sooner rather than later. - Yeah.
He's like... Yo.
What's up, brother? How did you go?
- Hey, Shaunie. - Finished a long walk.
- Good one. - Yeah.
Bit of exercise, you know. What's going on, boys?
Ah, trying to get something for the fire, 'cause we're starving.
Yep. Anything for food, huh?
After chatting with Luke, it's pretty obvious that the Champions
are going to get rid of Shaun.
That's not what I want at all.
I don't want to see two Contenders go in a row.
We have to start evening up the score at some point
or else the Contenders will just be wiped out.
That's kind of bad.
- Crossed the floor pretty quickly. - What?
I reckon I was the next target anyway and I need to win tomorrow, but...
It's just whether we can. That's what I'm trying to do.
Who would you pick?
Unfortunately, the Champions, you know,
they won the battle of Champions versus Contenders last night
and it all sort of came to a head.
We're in the minority now.
Yeah. Sure am.
David out here is my archenemy, my nemesis.
He's the one that I want gone more than anything.
Yeah, well, I'll be up for a run later.
I've been gunning for Dave ever since I realised
that he'd swindled me with a fake idol.
Now it's become a bit of a Cold War
where we've got our fingers ready on the button,
but nobody's firing just yet.
They're gonna wait till the right time,
and now it's time to strike.
I want nothing more than to get rid of him.
Yeah.
He's greasy, hey.
I tried to shake his hand, but I slipped right off.
- Done your shoulder. - Yeah. Oh, jeez, mate.
We've got five old Contenders,
and then we just need one Champion to work with us
and we can take out Dave.
Right now's the time to make our big move.
It's now or never.
I'm ready to go.
Let's cut the head off the snake.
Poles.
Come on in, guys.
Great.
Oh, you've got to hold onto it?
David, how are you feeling,
after Andy dropped that bomb on the way out after Tribal?
Oh, man, that was whatever.
I mean, Andy just had to have a parting cheap shot on the way out,
but suffice to say I think we were all pretty stoked he was gone.
'Stoked' might be understatement of the year actually.
It was a very happy camp last night.
You guys ready to get to today's reward challenge?
Yeah.
For today's challenge,
you're going to use your arms to brace yourself between two poles
while your feet are perched on a very narrow foothold.
At regular intervals, you'll move further down to smaller footholds,
making it more difficult.
If you fall off, you're out of the challenge.
Last person left standing wins reward.
Want to know what you're playing for?
Yes.
Alright. Bring it in.
Wow!
Brand-new stylish MG ZS SUV.
- What?! - Oh, my God.
Are you for real?
Daisy, what do you think about that?
I would love a new car. Hell yeah.
Alright, well, I know it's worth playing for
so we're going to draw for spots.
Get on with it.
Alright. Here we go.
For the very nice reward,
this challenge is on.
That pain comes on quickly and it is relentless.
Oh!
It's even more uncomfortable than I thought it would be.
Giving your hands a break today. We're going to work on your feet.
Very difficult to get any relief up on those poles.
Mind over matter.
Whoo!
You can only use your arms to brace yourself.
Entire weight of your body is going to go through the soles of your feet.
Those tiny, little footholds.
That first foothold is about six centimetres.
The next one looks like it's about three.
The last one maybe a centimetre and a half.
No-one really liked yesterday's challenge.
I have a feeling you're going to like this one even less.
Man, we need an eating challenge.
Who wants to admit they're in pain already?
Happily.
Wow. Shaun, your big toe is bigger than that last foothold.
You reckon I'm going to go down there, mate?
- I don't know. - You're pretty good at challenges.
Everyone's really trying to push through the pain.
15 minutes into the challenge.
Everyone's still in it.
Alright, guys. We're going to move down to the next one.
Remember, this is a live transition.
If you fall, you're out.
I'm going to count you in.
Five.
Four.
Three.
Two.
One.
Ooh!
Shaun, struggling to get a grip on that?
Yeah, just a bit, mate.
Sweaty feet not going to help.
Oh! Just like that!
Big boy.
- Well done, Shaunie. - Shaun can't handle it any longer.
He's out. On the bench.
Everyone else has been up there for 20 minutes.
Whoo! I don't know.
Oh. Daisy falls off.
- She's out. - Good effort.
I'm done. Jeez.
Just like that...
- Good job, Baden. - ..Baden has had enough.
He's out of the challenge.
We're down to eight.
You guys have been up there for 30 minutes.
Luke clearly in pain now.
- What's the pain like? - Ten.
Ten.
Just on fire.
Hang in there, Lukey.
Luke is in so much pain but he is not going to give up.
Mark of a true survivor.
Sun just pounding down.
This is torture.
It's torture.
Alright. You guys have been up there for 40 minutes.
Pia, Luke, Abbey, Harry, Simon, John, Janine, and David still in it.
Alright, you guys.
We're going to move down into the last foothold.
We're going to stay there until we have a winner.
Going to count you in.
Five.
Four.
- Three. - Oh, my God.
Two.
One.
- Whoa... - There's no way!
This is ridiculous.
Pain was terrible before but now it's unbearable.
It's ten times worse.
John's really struggling now.
Ah!
Just like that, John drops out.
Nowhere to hide on that ledge.
We're down to seven.
Luke doubled over in pain.
- Really struggling now. - Ha...
- That's it, Lukey. - Hold in there, mate.
Massive reward on the line today.
Be very nice to drive out of here in that car.
Nuh!
Oh, Lukey, well done, mate.
And after 45 very impressive minutes,
Luke is out of the challenge.
Well done.
We're down to six.
- Oh! - Oh, and out of nowhere...
- Oh, no! - ..Pia drops out.
We're down to five. David trying to breathe through the pain.
Getting into the zone.
Harry grimacing, clearly in pain.
Stay up straight as you can, Haz.
- Harry drops out. - Great effort, Harry.
- Can't even walk. - Well done, mate.
Down to four.
Abbey...
..Simon...
..Janine...
..and David.
Congratulations.
You guys have been up there for one hour.
Oh, well done, guys.
Wow. You've been really pushing through that pain.
And after 60 minutes...
- ..Janine decides... - Nuh.
..she's had enough.
It was killing me.
Abbey, Simon, David still battling it out for the car.
After 31 days, to be up on those poles for over an hour,
very impressive.
Keep pushing, Abbey.
This is what Survivor is about.
Never giving up. Finding a way to win.
Good work, guys.
Good work, everyone.
75 minutes.
Massive effort from everyone.
Oh, Simon.
Simon really struggling now.
Keep breathing, Blackie.
And after a monumental effort...
Well done, mate.
..Simon finally steps out of the challenge.
Well done.
Now we have a showdown...
..between Abbey and David.
Two people left in this challenge with two questions.
How long can you stay in there?
And how long before the other person drops?
Alright. You guys have been up there for 100 minutes.
Unbelievable effort.
In a moment, we're gonna make it a little more interesting.
No...
You're not going to use your hands.
The only part that can touch is your feet.
Alright. Here we go.
Five.
Four.
Three.
Two.
One.
David in the zone.
Abbey shifting her weight, trying to find her balance.
You've got this, Abbs.
Far out.
Ooh, David loses his balance but he pulls it back together.
Nice recovery.
Good work, guys.
All it takes is one slip and you're out.
Abbey starting to shake now.
Suddenly David's off balance.
He puts his hand on the pole.
- He is out of the challenge. - Shit!
Abbey wins reward.
Well done!
Massive effort from everyone.
Well done.
Oh, my God!
Oh!
Abbey, come on over.
Congratulations. You are now the owner of a brand-new MG ZS SUV.
- How does that feel? - Oh! That's incredible.
You know, these guys are sensational, huge competitors
and to think that I was up there last blows my mind.
Well, I know you've been obsessing about food.
So in the trunk is a fully-loaded picnic basket.
Oh!
But it's no fun to have a picnic on your own.
So choose one person to join you this afternoon.
As much as I love each and every one of you,
I think it was also a mammoth effort from Dave.
- Oh! - Dave, come on over.
You deserve it, Dave.
Choose one more person.
I'm gonna go with somebody new
but somebody who I have enjoyed the conversations that I've had with
at this point in time.
I reckon I'm gonna go John.
John!
- Wow. - Come on over.
You're a deadset legend, mate.
Well, congratulations.
Abbey, David, John, jump in the car.
Head on out. Enjoy your picnic.
See you, guys. Well done.
Great work.
Oh, look at this!
Oh, Abbs. Oh, my gosh.
- Oh, the amazing one! - It's sick.
Look at this thing! Abbs, it's fully loaded, man. Look at this.
Look at this sunroof too, man.
Does this go back?
- Oh! - Oh, man!
I can't believe that I can actually say that that's my car.
Oh, it's a moon roof too. It goes all the way back, Abbs.
Keeps going.
- Wow! - That's like a cinema.
You can't help but, A, smell that beautiful new car smell
but, B, have a look around and see what amazing features it had.
Comfort and convenience.
"Follow me home"?
- "Driving and maintenance". - "Find my car".
There's so many things to get in and play with
and I really can't wait to do that back home in Australia.
It's a beautiful car, man.
- It really is. - I know!
I'm so devastated at losing that car.
Um, it would have just been...
Oh, it's such a nice car.
The worst bit is, like, travelling around in the back
and having to pretend like I'm happy for Abbs.
"You did so good, Abbs. That was awesome!"
I actually, honestly, guys, I can't...
I can't even believe it.
Awesome!
Lap it up, Abbs, like, really enjoy it.
- This is insane. - Really enjoy it.
Oh, my God!
Nice.
Wow!
Wait till you see this, Dave.
So beautiful!
What?!
Holy moly!
This is Fiji right here.
It is the most incredible scene I've pretty much ever seen.
Look at it!
There's this insane waterfall.
This is crazy!
That's where we're going to be having our picnic
and I'm pretty excited to get there and open up this basket.
- Oh, my God, there's fetta! - Wow.
Every single thing you could think of for your dream picnic
is laid out in excess.
Rose!
And we go to town on it.
- Lamingtons! - Lamingtons!
Oh, my God.
I can't stop smiling.
I won a freaking car
and I'm sitting under a waterfall with you two!
- Abbey, thank you so much. - No.
Obviously, Dave, I was hurting so I know how much you were hurting.
- Like, I didn't even think twice. - Thank you, Abbs, hey.
I'm just taken aback by the fact that you wanted to
bring me and get to know me out here.
For me, it was a pretty easy decision
in the fact that I wanted to commend Dave on his efforts as well.
And I wanted to get to know
somebody that I haven't spent much time with,
so that was the reasoning behind taking John.
Yeah, I can't say anymore.
Oh!
So, the Territory, eh?
Did you spend a bit of time there playing footy?
Yep. It's... Honestly, you would love it.
So how much time do you actually spend up there?
Mmm...
I try and go up every... two or three months. Two months?
Yeah. 'Cause your sister's there now?
- Yeah. And my... - And your mum.
Yeah, and my mum and my nephew.
But it's just hard obviously with footy season...
..trying to get away.
It's almost impossible.
Getting to know Abbey. I haven't had too much to do with her.
And... yeah.
- Wanna bite? - I'm just going to start here.
But I can tell she's a good chick.
I can tell she's my kind of chick.
And, yeah, I'm looking forward to getting to know her.
Have some of this. It's amazing.
I'm eating chicken liver pate like it's going out of style.
But food means nothing to me.
I'm playing Survivor. I'm not here to listen to stories.
So, how are you guys feeling about the game in general
now that things have, like, opened up a little bit?
We're through our first vote.
I've got two people away from camp and I'm ready to work.
Because if we stay as a strong three vote, we can, like...
We can do some serious work in this tribe
and really push for endgame, the three of us.
And this just solidifies it.
Like, these are the opportunities where games are won.
I'm pushing endgame with these two, and they seem to be buying it.
Like, we're across all lines.
Like, we have all channels of information.
I don't want to go to final three with Abbey and John,
but if they want to take me to final three,
that works for me.
Oh, where's that cheese gone?
I need a little bit more of that apricot cheese.
I was just looking forward to getting to know Abbey.
Eat a few lamingtons.
I love lamingtons, but...
I have your back now 100%.
Dave's relentless.
He doesn't stop talking about the game.
We're trusting each other...
Um, some people play too hard.
..information across, work slightly independently...
I have no doubt that he's making promises left, right and centre, that fella.
So I smiled and nodded and high fived and cheers my rose to it.
But... in the old noggin I was thinking,
we'll just take that with a grain of salt,
and, yeah, humour him for now.
But there is going to be a time
where we're going to have to do some dirt.
- Just an unfortunate part of the game. - Yeah.
Have you guys thought, like, who you'd want gone next?
My immediate thought,
and just purely based on the fact that he doesn't want to work with me,
is Shaun.
Shaun is dangerous.
Physically, mentally tough. He's super strong with Daisy.
He's going to be really tough, man, to get out of this game.
Yeah.
I love Dave and I've been really close to him
since the start of this game.
To the picnic alliance!
- And Abbey's new MG. Stunning red car. - And Abbey's new MG.
But he's just got to a point where
I think the power is getting to his head.
That is magic.
That is amazing.
He's told a few lies
and he's promising top-two alliances to everyone.
It just makes me feel really uneasy.
High-five!
It's very clear now I can't trust him anymore.
- This is it. This is so good. - Endgame, endgame, endgame.
I think that it's about time that Dave got sent home.
I think Abbey chose David for the reward today
because she genuinely believed
that he deserved it after the effort he put in.
My concern is that I know Dave wants me gone.
I'm sure he's trying to convince Abbey and John to take me out.
So, you know, I'm feeling well and truly on the defence right now.
Yeah, I'm worried about my future in this game.
I have two capable hands.
- Are you getting wood? - No.
I found this mandarin tree. I'm trying to shake some down.
Alright. I'll help.
I think the most powerful person in camp right now
is the Godmother, Janine.
Yeah, there's a fair few fruit here.
Oh, I see them.
- Look, this is all mandarin leaf. - Oh, my God.
She's holding a lot of cards and she controls a lot of people,
so I need to try and get her on my side someway
and make her realise that there are bigger threats in this game than me.
Because she might be able to pull in the numbers to take out Dave.
Let's not kid ourselves.
If you lose, people will be going, "Get rid of the threat!"
But merge does change things.
Everyone has to turn on someone at some point.
Well, I honestly think,
and I know you're tight with them so I hope this stays between us,
but I think Dave's probably one of the bigger threats in this game.
- Yeah. - I think not 'cause of only...
He's very capable physically
but he's making so many deals left, right and centre.
I know he is. I mean, he's...
- Who's he not lying to? - Yeah.
Like, he's lying to everyone but who's he not lying to?
- Yeah, exactly. - Yeah.
He just keeps his options wide open.
I'm prepared to get in bed with the Godmother at this stage.
She's somebody that you probably want on your side
as opposed to against you.
I hope I've done enough
but if I don't win the next immunity challenge,
my head is really on the chopping block.
No, these have got nothing on them, these papaya...
Well, let's keep... Just let's keep talking.
Let's keep the communication going and see where it unfolds.
But as I said, it's, I reckon, clean slate, new... new beginnings.
Yeah.
With regards to the game, it's been pretty clear
that up until now we've been on opposite sides,
but Shaun is pretty keen to take out David, and that's great news.
We can work together.
Yes, I'm still close to my alliance
but, you know, at some point we've got to turn on each other,
and I think that time is coming.
The reality is, if David doesn't win immunity, he's going home.
David thinks he's the king.
But he's about to find out why I'm the Godmother.
Come on in, guys!
Abbey, how was the picnic?
It was amazing, Jonathan.
It's really actually quite hard to put yesterday into words.
You know, first and foremost,
winning a car, you know, a shiny new MG,
was just incredible.
But then the picnic itself was sensational
and some pretty great company as well.
John, how did you feel when Abbey chose you to join her on the picnic?
Mate, I was stoked.
She could have just chosen an old Champion,
but she chose an old Contender.
I thought that showed a lot of class.
Was there a Mexican parma?
There was no Mexican parma, mate,
but we had a cute picnic,
a few roses...
- That's what they're called, aren't they? - Yeah.
It was a good day out.
So, Shaun, last immunity challenge you said you really needed to win it.
Are you feeling the same way today?
I think I probably need this one just as much as the last one, mate.
So, yeah, I think when you get to merge,
people who are considered challenge threats in the game,
you know, they're sort of picked off pretty quick.
I think I'm gonna have to become pretty well acquainted with this.
You want to give it up to me?
If I have to.
Yes.
Thank you.
Once again, immunity is back up for grabs.
And if you want it, you're going to have to earn it today
because one of our toughest and most daunting challenges is back.
For today's challenge...
..you will each take a position in the water
under a barrier made of bars.
As the tide comes in,
the water will rise
and your breathing space will decrease
until eventually it disappears.
Right now it's late afternoon, but soon that sun is going to set...
..and you'll be competing at night.
Last person left under the bars wins immunity, safe from the vote.
As for the rest of you, tribal council tonight,
where someone will become the 14th person voted out of this game.
Alright, we're gonna draw for spots.
Better get to it.
This is my least favourite of all...
I've been so petrified of this one.
Alright, everyone, assume the position.
Yep, she's cold. She's very cold.
Oh, God.
Alright, everyone good?
Yeah.
For immunity, this challenge is now on.
So here we are.
One of the toughest challenges in the Survivor playbook.
Sun's about to set.
Soon you're going to be doing it in the dark.
Ah, it's so cold.
Making it even tougher.
This challenge is going to test your ability to stay calm...
..when every part of your body is telling you to do otherwise.
- Good? - Yeah.
Harry already starting to shiver.
Water's refreshing during the day
but at sunset...
..it gets cold.
Soon it's not gonna be fun.
David trying to breathe through it.
Abbey shivering. Everyone starting to look cold.
Not me, mate.
Not you, you're tough.
Nah, good as gold.
Good as gold for Johnny.
A little bit of a swell today.
That's gonna make it more challenging.
Pia is shivering.
Luke shivering.
Ah, bring it on.
So cold!
Daisy grimacing. Really not happy under there.
If you don't like confined spaces,
you're not going to like this challenge.
Daisy struggling now.
Daisy can't handle anymore.
She comes out.
Suddenly, out of nowhere, Abbey drops out.
She's out of the challenge.
Now we're down to nine.
Simon, David, Harry,
John, Pia,
Luke, Shaun,
Janine and Baden
still in the challenge.
Shaun looking good.
David trying to breathe through it.
Trying to find that Zen place.
Everyone fighting it out for immunity.
Only way to guarantee another day in this game
is to wear that necklace tonight at Tribal.
Night is almost upon us.
You guys have been out there for 15 minutes.
The water is really starting to surge now.
Shaunie looks cold.
Yep.
32 days you've been fighting hard to stay in this game.
Now you need to fight to stay calm.
David really protecting that airway.
Water covering everyone's eyes now,
precariously close to their mouths and noses.
Just like that, Baden drops out of the challenge.
We're down to eight.
The only thing you can be sure of is that tide is going to get higher.
David's face being covered by surges now.
Harry can no longer take it anymore.
Harry's out of the challenge. We're down to seven.
You guys have been in this position for 20 minutes.
Seven are left.
Janine, Shaun, Luke,
Pia, John, David and Simon.
Everyone trying to protect their airway except Pia.
Water covering Pia's face now. She goes down.
She can't take anymore.
She's out of the challenge.
Now down to six.
David moving all the way down the end of his bars.
Everyone else at the top.
John holding his nose.
Everyone else has some kind of snorkel going on.
David really shivering now.
And out of nowhere...
Whoo.
..John pops up.
He's out of the challenge.
Five left.
Janine, Shaun,
Luke,
David and Simon.
Everyone digging deep.
The water's right up to the level of the bars now.
Room is rapidly running out.
Shaun has not moved throughout this entire challenge.
Looking rock solid.
Determined to leave here wearing that necklace once again.
Big surge.
Everyone's face is covered now.
The bars are almost covered in water.
Oh, my God. I reckon it's all going to happen really quick.
It will be very quick.
Everyone's face is pretty much submerged at this point.
And another wave comes through.
Janine completely under water.
She goes down.
Finally, Janine is out of the challenge.
Janine, last girl in the challenge, finally drops out.
And we're down to four.
Shaun,
Luke,
David
and Simon.
Luke starting to panic now. Really struggling.
Can he recover? He goes down, tries to come back up.
No, he can't hold it any longer.
Finally, Luke is out of the challenge and we're down to three.
Shaun,
David,
and Simon.
The three boys have been at it for 30 minutes.
Simon goes down. Is he going to come back up?
Any second now.
Simon is out of the challenge.
David and Shaun left.
Big surge over David's face but he's still in it.
Somehow David manages to clear his airway.
Big surge over Shaun's face.
Who's going to drop out first?
We've seen this match-up before.
Who's going to take it today?
Dave really breathing heavily now.
Shaun looks pretty calm.
Tries to clear his airway.
He's still in it.
Really digging deep.
He is not going to give up.
This is really incredible.
Yeah.
I can't watch.
David takes on some water.
Shaun takes on some water.
Two different techniques, Shaun has a snorkel,
David trying to create a break.
David regularly taking on water now.
How many more surges can he press through?
And on the other end, Shaun is looking pretty solid.
Oh, David takes on a lot of water.
Can he clear it?
Trying to hold his breath through that surge.
Just as he tries to clear his airway, another surge!
He is not going to give up.
Wow.
More water on his face.
Both boys completely under water now.
Shaun takes on some water.
David trying to hold his breath.
Another big surge for David.
And another one for Shaun.
Oh...
Shaun pops out.
And David wins immunity!
Oh, my God!
Amazing!
You got it. Amazing!
Well done, brother.
You won, buddy.
I won!
Shaun, that was amazing.
Good job, mate. Good job. Good job.
Shaun, how tough was that?
That's probably one of the toughest things I've done in my life.
Just the level of unpleasantness and the freezing cold.
Yeah, it was an unbelievable effort by Dave.
I just couldn't do it.
David, come on over.
Huge.
You're a beast.
- Amazing effort. - Thank you.
Immunity is yours.
You are safe tonight, cannot be voted out.
Guaranteed a 1-in-10 shot at winning this game.
As for the rest of you, Tribal Council tonight,
where one of you will become the first member of our jury.
Now, because it's late, you're not gonna go back to your beach,
so you're gonna have to work it out on the way to Tribal.
Grab your gear. Head on out.
- I'll see you guys soon. - Thanks.
Well done, mate. Well done.
We're going to Tribal almost right now.
It's just absolute chaos.
Any way I play it out in my mind,
a big player is going home tonight.
The challenge in itself was ridiculously hard.
What an amazing challenge that was, everyone.
Worst one yet. My least favourite.
Then Jonathan pulls the "You're going straight to Tribal Council" card.
So we have minutes to discuss who's going home tonight.
I want nothing more than to get revenge on Dave.
But Dave wearing the necklace...
I can't target Dave, so...
I think I'm in a lot of trouble tonight.
I've watched enough Survivor to know that this point in the game
they target the physical challenge threats all the time.
So I've only got a small amount of time
to take the target off my back and put it elsewhere.
It's going to be a hard job, but I don't think it's impossible.
Well, I may as well tell you guys while you're here,
but my vote is for the most likeable...
..the one with the strongest relationships...
..and the one who's got the best story.
Lukey.
That's where my vote's going,
because he's the one that will beat any single one of us at the end.
- Nobody has a chance against him. - Yeah.
It's as simple as that.
If we can get numbers, I'd be happy to go against someone like Luke.
But, in saying that, it'd be very detrimental to our games to...
..try and blindside someone and it not come off.
- Yeah. - Yeah. You need the numbers.
But Luke has so many friends on both sides.
Yeah.
He is the biggest threat.
Like, don't be fooled by anybody
diverting the attention to somebody else.
This might be the only time that you've got to get rid of him.
This is insane. This is insane.
Ohh...
- How's everyone feeling? - Yeah, I know.
That's exactly...
We've got like zero time to work out who goes home tonight.
Yeah. I know.
So, take the opportunity with old Shaun not having the necklace?
So, he's... even today, like, he was strong.
Yeah, he was.
Yeah. Let's do the big man?
- Yeah? - OK.
What's that, then? 11...
Just to double-check.
- You're not going to go Shaun? - I'm going to go Daisy, mate.
- You guys are good with Shaun? - Yep. We've got six.
- For Shaun? - Yeah.
Shaun. Shaun. Shaun.
So we just need two more Daisys and we're good.
Yeah. Yep.
It's been a great battle with Shaun.
I've had my eyes on him basically since I gave him the fake idol,
and he's been trying to take me out since he came to our tribe.
And it's one of those David versus Goliath moments, I suppose.
And we know how that story goes.
Bang!
- Hey. What's going on? - Yeah.
- Hello. - Hey, mate.
- How are you? - Yeah, still cold.
- Yeah. - The warmth from the fire's amazing.
Um, what's going on, guys?
Your name's been, obviously, thrown in the mix.
- Absolutely. - Probably aware of that.
But, yeah, nothing's really been finalised just yet.
What have you got in mind? Daisy said potentially Luke.
I think it's a no-brainer.
You know, as somebody who's seen
almost every season of Survivor that there's ever been,
I mean, he's going to win it, hands down.
I'd vote for him.
Yeah. I don't know. You've got to sort of think about these things.
Ooh! Ooh! Ooh!
What are youse thinking?
How youse goin'?
Well, I know I'm a big target.
Yeah.
Have youse...
..got any other names youse want to throw out there?
Well... I don't know.
I'd like to think I thrive in chaos,
and this is about as chaotic as it gets.
OK.
Everyone's scrambling right now
and I think I can harness that
and maybe direct it towards a big threat in this game.
What do you reckon, mate?
I don't know. I really don't know.
Look, I say this, and I've taken all emotion out of it
when I say what I'm about to say.
I think this is an opportunity to get...
Like, 'cause physical threats can be taken care of later.
And that's why I think, potentially,
a strategic vote tonight would make more sense.
And I think we'd all, like, get a lot of value
out of doing something better.
So, we have five here.
Shaun is six.
If he wanted to do something else.
- Here he is. - How are you, Si?
Hey, guys. How are you?
What are you thinking, brother?
Do we play the strategic vote
and remove, like, arguably the biggest player?
- Luke? - Luke.
Ripper bloke and that, but...
..if you went up against him at the end...
- You're in a bit of trouble. - ..you're in strife, mate.
I think that's unquestionable with his story.
So, what do you think, Blacky?
So, openly, if I'm honest, like, it is a... has some appeal to it.
He's a diabolical genius, old Lukey.
Lukey? Yeah.
Yeah, well, we're six here, so we can actually right now make a call.
- I'm down. - Right now.
I'm down with it.
- She won't be... - What if he's got an idol?
He's on to something. What if he's got an idol?
Nuh, he doesn't.
- OK. One, two, three... - Is that what we're really doing?
- Luke? We are? - Yeah.
- OK. Done. - Done.
- Alright. - Alright.
'Cause Shaun is six, and that's it, that's majority.
- The other ones? - Oh, yeah, well...
- There wasn't much going on there. - Aww.
Luke is probably the best game player out here.
And while we've got numbers over with Shaun
it could be a good time to actually take Luke out.
I'm a fighter. I always have been.
I spent my entire football career fighting.
And it's the same tonight, you know?
I might look like I'm down and out, but I'm ready to go.
So, David, effectively you've come to Tribal
straight from the challenge.
- Yeah. - Paint me a picture of what happened on the way over here.
Well, on the way to Tribal, there was definitely some chaos
in front of a few different bonfires
and there was a lot of conversations going down.
I think there's been some lines drawn in the tribe
and I think it was just about establishing
which side of the line you were on.
So, Daisy, with so little time, is it difficult
to get everyone on the same page?
Oh, absolutely.
I think every single person sitting here would agree
that the short amount of time we had
gave us, you know, a very hard task of getting on the same page.
It feels like tonight is the very first time
that we've all realised that we're playing an individual game now,
and now everyone's coming to the realisation
that we've gotta start looking after ourselves,
so I think that's why there's a bit of chaos happening.
Luke, you've got a lot to say back there. What's going on?
Oh, man, just... you know, just crossing the T's
and dotting the I's.
Yeah, just making sure we're...
..on the right path.
There's going to be scrambling that happens,
but you wanna be on that team,
like, vote with that original vote,
with that first... first vote you knew you were going to do,
because there's challenge threats that have to go.
Why mess around?
Now's the time to play this move. Let's go.
Shaun, I'm going to take a wild guess here,
but is David talking about you?
Honestly, I mean, I knew this would be a possibility tonight.
You know, I've tried to have some chats with some people
and make them see sense,
because, at the end of the day,
I have to win the next 10 immunity challenges
to go all the way and win the game.
I think that's pretty unlikely.
I mean, there's an opportunity to get rid of me,
but it's usually the strategic players, at this point,
the very smart ones,
that throw the physical threats under the bus.
I mean, if you ask me, and I know, Luke, you'll be able to take this
because he's a big boy and he's played before,
but out of everybody here, he is the absolute biggest threat
to win this game.
Because he's got strong relationships with everybody here.
He might not win immunities
like myself or Dave or Simon might be able to,
but there's safety in numbers as well.
He might get himself into a position in this game
where you can't vote him out because he's got the numbers to vote you out
and you've missed your chance.
Well, let's talk about safety in numbers.
I won this necklace for my team.
I wasn't doing it just so I sat here with safety,
I was doing it so my team can move forward.
And the relationships I've made with that team,
these kind of things help you move forward.
Yes, it's an individual game at this point,
but you can get nowhere by yourself.
And I'm doing this for my team right now.
Today, we needed just to win
so that it was an opportunity to send someone home.
And we can't miss that opportunity.
So, you pushed yourself to the limit today
to keep that necklace out of someone else's hands?
100%.
Pretty impressive showdown.
It's always an impressive showdown when Shaun's involved.
So, tonight, the showdown continues?
Well, the showdown hopefully will be finished.
Wow.
So what's your assessment, Janine?
We were in a situation tonight that we've never been in before,
nor that we could have predicted
because I've never seen it on Survivor before.
And for me, in business, you don't rush your decision,
you think about all of the outcomes of that decision
and then you move forward with it.
The problem with today was, there was no time
to consider the consequences until now.
So, there was potential wrong decisions made
in that collective.
So, there are some potential outcomes that weren't considered?
You know, we've currently got a number of options on the table.
You've got a very strong player who's winning most of the challenges
through the whole game.
Then you have someone who is strategic,
and there was a little bit of a debate
on whether we go the strategic
or the one that who's dominant, physically.
And no-one in this game... has been so dominant from the very word go.
But if you've got someone with strength,
if you don't take the shot when you've got it,
then you lose all flexibility going forward in this game.
In business, the KISS principle is always the best option,
which is "Keep it simple, stupid."
So your simple plan is take out the challenge threat?
That's, um... that's my view.
Like, this is a funny game. It's not exactly like business.
One of the things you need in Survivor is a good resume
or a good story to tell the jury at the end.
And this is our jury sitting here.
Tonight, I feel like I'm the predictable, easy vote.
That's not going to get you any respect
from anybody on the jury.
If I was sitting over there
and had to award one of these people the money right now,
it would be Luke, for sure.
He's one of the most likeable people I think I've ever met.
And he's got, you know, a fantastic story,
he's from, like, a tough upbringing
and he's got a lot going on at home right now,
so... he's almost your perfect prototype Survivor winner.
Daisy, if you were sitting next to Luke in the final two,
do you think you could beat him?
No. No, I don't.
But look how many people are sitting here, right?
There is a lot of people and there's a lot of votes to come.
There's an opportunity to get Luke at any time.
There's not so much that chance with Shaun.
I don't know about that.
It is illogical to think that Shaun will win every immunity.
There's just not that great a chance
with the sheer variety of challenges that can come up.
What do you think about that, John?
I mean, if we remove a challenge threat today,
it puts a target on someone else.
I mean, it can put Simon's name up in lights.
I mean, he's a strong competitor as well.
It could put anyone's name up in lights
if you take Shaun out of the game, so...
- Yeah. - So, that's what's going to happen?
We're just going to be picking off the challenge threats from now on?
I don't know, that's what it looks like right now.
So, Simon, where do you sit in all this?
I mean, you've heard a pitch from Janine,
you've heard a pitch from Shaun.
What's your opinion?
Yeah, look, I mean, as this game progresses,
there's obviously the physical side
but the social side is just as... just as important.
Shaun, what should the tribe remember before we go up to vote?
This is an opportunity to actually make a big move
and put something impressive on your resume.
If you've got an opportunity to make a big move,
you've gotta take the chance.
Alright. Well, on that note, I think it's time to vote.
I think it's time to vote.
Daisy, you're up.
They say to be the man, you've got to beat the man.
And right now, you're the man
and I can't have you outshining me anymore.
I'm sorry, buddy.
Stay golden, pony boy.
I'll go count the votes.
If anyone has a hidden immunity idol and you want to play it,
now would be the time to do so.
OK, once the votes are read, the decision is final.
The person voted out will be asked
to leave the Tribal Council area immediately.
I'll read the votes.
First vote...
..Shaun.
Shaun. That's two votes Shaun.
Luke.
That's two votes Shaun, two votes Luke.
Daisy.
We're tied again.
Two votes Shaun, two votes Daisy, two votes Luke.
Shaun.
That's three votes Shaun, two votes Daisy, two votes Luke.
Shaun. Four votes Shaun, two votes Daisy, two votes Luke.
14th person voted out of Australian Survivor,
first member of our jury.
Shaun.
That's five votes. That's enough.
You need to bring me your torch.
I know, I know.
Good luck, huh?
Shaun, the tribe has spoken.
Time for you to go.
- Thanks, guys. - See you, Shaun.
Well, in this game, the fire of chaos burns bright.
You get too close and you could be set alight.
Grab your torches, head back to camp. Goodnight.
Tomorrow night...
From here, your most loyal partners will turn on you.
..the knives have been sharpened.
I'm ready to change things up.
I'm not playing Survivor to make friends. I'm here to win.
They'd better watch their backs.
I'm calling the shots.
Get ready...
I hope everyone's not bullshitting me.
..for a blindside so huge...
It has to be perfect.
Everybody's on board to do it.
..it will blow the game apart.
I'm going to strut all the way to Sole Survivor.
I think Janine changed the vote tonight at Tribal.
You are too good in this game to continue.
I tried to fight back, but I think it was too little, too late.
I'm a bit salty about never getting revenge on David, to be honest,
because, you know, he did swindle me with that fake idol.
I do hope that he gets what's coming to him,
because I think he's playing a pretty slimy game
and I would like to see somebody take him out.
But now, I definitely feel like more of a donkey than a horse, I think.
