I want you to know that faith takes you on a journey.

of faith, that I would pay little tribute to the Payne

family.

They've meant so much to this church,

and there have been a couple that, uh,

had a little tough journey of faith.

I've been a member of his church

since I was a little boy.

Aunt Elle raised me here.

And Curtis and Ella Payne are my surrogate parents.

I was a grown man.

they the only parents I've ever known.

Uncle Curtis taught me how to be a fireman

and brought me in to that, and he, uh, he also saved my life.

and show her that her family loves and still cares for her.

And God, we cast out the spirit of addiction which

is trying to control her life.

And we ask You right now to bring her home safely.

I can honestly say that if it weren't for the prayers

of Miss Ella, of this family, I wouldn't

have beat my addiction.

I wouldn't be giving back.

Oh, God has just been so good to me.

I just can't tell it all.

But if I were to petition the Lord for anything today,

it would be that my husband would be here with us today.

He's a mighty God.

There were moments I wanted to quit.

But I held on.

Yeah, and I watched a so-called friend turn and walk away.

It hurt me so much, I didn't have words left to say, oh.

But even when my day turns to night and nothing

seems just right, Lord, I thank you.

Thank you for my life.

Now, I watched him take my family from back there to here.

And when times were a little rough,

I'm glad he was always near.

Oh, thank you, Lord.

And at the moment I thought I'd failed,

I was reminded of His nails, so I held on by the grace of God.

And if I never live to see another day,

there's nothing I would change or take away, oh, no, no, no.

You see, I've had so many ups that they

far outweigh my downs.

Lord, I thank you for my life.

For my life, Lord, I thank you, yes, I do.

For every victory, in You I've seen.

Oh, and for-- and for every moment,

every moment of my life, that I know it

was nobody but God who kept me.

So I say thank you.

Thank you, Lord, for--

Oh, I realize, I realize that there were some people

who did not make it.

And I could have been, I could have been one

of the ones who lost my way.

Oh, and there were times--

there were times in my life that I almost went crazy.

But I'm still here, by the grace of God.

I'm here with my--

And it may not be all that I had hoped for.

And every dream, every dream, every dream

has not yet been realized.

Oh, but to see His face, to look at Him face-to-face one day,

it's all going to be worth it, yeah.

So I thank you, thank you, Jesus, for--

for every door you've opened, every way

you've made for protecting me, for keeping me.

I just want to tell him thank you.

I just want to take the time to tell

for my life.
