[Peacock in Wonderland]

[Episode 20]

Don't you remember

what happened last night?

What on earth happened last night?

Let go of me!

Who is so vicious

and wants to make me lose my virginity?

After I saved you,

according to Qiang's investigation,

He Huan was the first one arriving there with his men.

Thus,

he should be the one who did it.

It really was He Huan.

He's still as stupid and evil as always.

Lai, let's go.

Let's show him

what real righteousness is.

Holy Envoy, there is no need to go.

Chief summoned me back urgently, so I already left.

He Huan.

It's too coincidental.

He left when we're just about to go to him.

I guess he's anxious to escape

since the plan didn't work last night.

Unless he can escape from this planet overnight.

Otherwise,

I will hunt him down.

When I return to the city,

I'll report to Master Rong and Ruan Jiushu immediately.

Ruan Jiushu?

He Huan is a sinner.

He came with us for disaster relief

because Ruan Jiushu helped him.

If without her permission,

He Huan wouldn't have had the guts to do that.

But...

why would Ruan Jiushu do this to me?

Just because I won't listen to her?

You obstructed the sacrifice several times

and implemented new policies.

You have gained the people's strong support

and threatened her position in Peacock Sect.

She holds a grudge against you.

It's not surprising that she wants to use He Huan

to ruin your reputation.

She's so evil.

We should go back now.

I want to confront her face to face.

Let's go now.

Let's go now.

What are you doing?

I bit you last night.

I want to see if your wound still hurts.

Don't worry, Your Excellency.

I'm fine now.

That's good.

Li Muyang,

can I ask you a question?

Why are you so nice to me?

You saved me again and again.

You always showed up

when I was in danger.

You also...

Didn't I say

I would protect you?

Besides, the situation was critical.

I would do that even if it wasn't you.

Really?

You would do that no matter who it was?

Qiang.

Is he shy or stubborn?

Holy Envoy, what's wrong?

Nothing.

Ignore him.

Come on. Let's do what I taught you last time.

My Lord.

Why are you avoiding Holy Envoy?

Do you remember the dreams I told you about?

The dreams that would come true in reality?

I remember.

Actually, I saw

what happened a few days ago in my dream too.

That's why I had to be very cautious.

I even sent Qing Jian away.

But now it seems what happened in my dream can't be changed.

Even if it was not Qing Jian,

someone else would do it.

In that case,

you should protect Holy Envoy

instead of avoiding her.

I'm not avoiding her on purpose.

I just...

I just don't know how to face her.

You didn't eat much today.

Thank you, Holy Envoy.

I'm not hungry.

You must be thirsty.

No.

Then you...

You should get in the carriage and rest early.

We're about to set out.

You are a coward who doesn't have the courage to face your own feelings.

Qiang.

You go sit in the carriage. I'll drive.

Aren't you going to accompany Holy Envoy?

Just get in the carriage. Stop talking.

Qiang, why are you here?

Maybe Lord Li wants to show off his driving skills.

Fine.

Since he likes driving so much,

let him drive all the way back to the city.

Don't come inside.

Young Master, why are you so anxious?

I...

I'm not.

Lord Li and Holy Envoy are on their way back from disaster relief.

This is very important.

Master Rong has always been diligent.

She should have come out early to welcome them.

Greetings, Young Master.

Greetings, Young Master.

Don't stand on ceremony.

You made contributions by addressing the drought.

Also, you just had a long journey.

You must be tired.

It was all for the people.

We're not tired.

Holy Envoy helped the people

address the drought.

It's a great merit.

You really deserve the title of the Holy Envoy of Peacock Sect.

Why did you leave early without telling me?

I...

Right,

where is Master Rong?

I have something important to report to her.

Logically,

Mother should be in the court now.

Maybe she's delayed by something.

But for so many years,

she has never delayed the morning court.

I'm going to find her.

Mother.

Mother.

Holy Envoy is back from disaster relief. She wants to see you.

Mother?

Mother.

Mother.

Mother.

Mother.

Don't scare me.

Mother.

Mother!

Mother.

Mother!

Mother!

Mother!

Guards!

Guards!

Mother!

Mother!

Mother!

Mother!

Mother.

Boss, what kind of flower is this?

This is peony.

It is bright-colored

and has big flowers.

When the flowers bloom next year,

they will be stunning absolutely.

Master Rong... passed away?

God is unfair.

Since Master Rong ascended the throne,

she had been diligent, thrifty, and people-oriented.

She had employed virtuous people and initiated reforms.

She was such a wise leader

but was killed.

Young Master,

I know you're heartbroken.

Master Rong suddenly passed away.

The people are also in panic.

Peacock City-State is in urgent need of a new leader.

Please pull yourself together

and ascend the throne as soon as possible.

Although I'm not competent,

I'm willing to share your burdens.

Got it.

Thank you, Lord Chen.

I will pull myself together.

I'll take my leave.

Yu.

Take a rest.

I'll keep watch.

I can't sleep

before I find out why my mother died.

If Master Rong is still alive,

she wouldn't want to see you ruin your health like this.

Mother was so kind.

She worked hard every day

and had never slacked off.

I respect her the most

in this world.

But...

Why is fate so unfair?

Flowers Kill.

It must be Flowers Kill.

I swear

if I can't find Flowers Kill

and avenge my mother,

I will never feel at ease for the rest of my life.

Flowers Kill is cunning, so it's not easy to find them.

The last time they left a trace

was during the sacrifice.

Sacrifice?

The climate is dry. Be careful with fire safety.

The climate is dry. Be careful with fire safety.

Be careful.

Don't destroy the scene.

Sorry.

I've never done anything like this before.

I told you it's dangerous here.

I told you not to come with me.

What are you talking about?

This is very important. Of course I should come.

Also,

I'm a member of Flowers Kill.

You can't just let me take the blame together

and hide things from me.

My Lord, the guards at the door have been taken care of.

It'll take at least four hours

for them to wake up.

Sorry.

Let me do it.

Be careful.

Don't leave any trace,

so that we can avoid being taken advantage of by those with ulterior motives.

Don't worry, My Lord.

Master Rong was fine before we left.

Why did she die suddenly?

Who killed her?

The relationships around Master Rong were complicated.

She held a high position.

It's not something we can speculate.

But the murderer is very cunning.

Every detail shows Flowers Kill is behind this.

He did this

to make us the scapegoat.

Really?

In order to deal with Flowers Kill,

he even had the guts to kill Master Rong.

There is no external injury on Master Rong's body.

But look.

When I pricked the tip of her tongue with a silver needle,

the blood is black.

Master Rong died because she was poisoned.

Poisoned?

That's not right.

Young Master Rong has investigated it.

She said everything Master Rong ate, wore, and used

was not poisonous.

Where did the poison come from?

Do you remember the flowers on the bed?

Now it seems

it was really weird.

I thought about it many times.

I just couldn't figure out how she was poisoned.

She was the master.

All her daily necessities

had to be recorded by specific people.

I even checked

all the records kept six months ago,

but I didn't find anything wrong.

So the poison

could only be put through the flowers.

Based on what I remember,

I drew all the flowers

on Master Rong's bed.

Then I really found something.

The trick lies in three kinds of flowers:

White Sakura,

Cangsuo,

and Yuekui.

They are not poisonous when they are put separately.

But if we put these three kinds of flowers together

in a sealed space for a night,

their mixed fragrance can be fatal.

Indeed,

the more beautiful it is, the more dangerous it is.

Qiang,

these three kinds of flowers are not very common.

Go to the flower shops in the city

to find out who bought them recently.

Also,

it's very likely that the murderer purchased them in batches.

So even if someone only bought one,

you can't let him go.

Got it.
