and the water was holding the ice up and then the water went wrong for some reason

and the ice got nothing supporting it that's just dangerous fluctuations in temperature can create a dangerous gap between the surface ice and the water below

and that an ice crossing that's a recipe for disaster

well is the water stuff went out

on his first run of the season alex has gotten off to a rocky start falling into a freezing creek while testing the ice surface

as alex approaches the ten mile long crossing at fishing lake

as with the creaky fell into earlier

us warm weather is causing the water levels on the lake to start dropping a sure-fire recipe for unstable ice

but with the community waiting for it's overdue shipment

of water under the ice does support base as we drive along the ice bins in the water holds it up if there's no water underneath the ice and two thousand or support just the ice yourself which generally is not good

because the whole lake to settle or the ice can drop from break up the offer

delivering some much-needed furnaces to the remote community one of the biggest challenges just to motor than any job that has a need for some expertise is having faith in oneself

earlier spit it out try to really dig the guy out it's broken both of my chains todd destroyed his tire chains pulling a stranded trucker out of the ditch

uh now it's eighteen percent grade that's pretty damn steep he's facing a sharp drop followed by an even steeper uphill i don't know what to do because if i get stuck i got no change

worst case scenarios you get the top of the hill you don't make it and you start sliding backwards a jackknifed tractor truck and then i'm done for the season with the town just on the other side of the hill

and i'm now in the community of round lake delivering my load of building supplies

oh yeah we get open i tried to pull the guy out of the ditch took me three hours to finally get him out but one of the big chain staffed almost went all the way through the door i don't know how good explain that one to the boss

so you know it was a long journey i've heard around lake but you know what the end of the day we've got in the community we got on there supplies to see the smiles on the people's faces when they show up when you brought them everything they need that's what this is all about

that's why we take the risk right there

meanwhile as night falls on the winter roads

temperatures plunge

and two hundred and fifty miles away

so being so really close together to can make a really tasty guess who is really lying step is fighting her way back to pickle lake

just got to be lazy

the rookies tackling one of the toughest roads in ontario

looking to get a four ton broken trailer in for immediate repairs

uh i'm gonna get a lot of speed to make it over the snow

now she's facing a twelve percent grade slick with ice

um i'm just christmas time

back down so i can get up

to get over this hill stuff will need a running start

which means the young driver must back down a twisting road full of line turns
