has definitely lived up
to its reputation

and here is what
we have encountered so far.

We started right here
at the Bed and Breakfast...

a lot of activity.

It just absolutely did.

And sensing
there was more going on

than just
an isolated haunting,

we discovered
that Mackinac Island

is one giant Native American
burial ground

from the downtown
to the shoreline.

Then we met a witness
that connected

paranormal activity
on the land

with a mysterious anomaly
over the lake.

Afterwards, Josh found
a possible connection

between the shoreline activity

and one of the many deadly
shipwrecks in the area...

where things promptly
went haywire

for Phil in the frigid waters.

We saw it, we felt it.
It messed with us.

of the island

before making our way
to the lake shore.

Allegedly, one of the most
haunted places in the area

is the St. Helena Lighthouse.

It actually sits
on its own little island

a few miles from Mackinac.

So we're gonna need
some help getting out there.

[Phil] We reconnect
with Captain Jenn.

who has arranged
a little different type
of charter for us this time

due to the shallower waters
we're gonna cross.

Captain Jenn,
meet the Ghost Brothers.

to the lighthouse today.

It's gorgeous day out here

St. Helena Lighthouse

begins operating
150 years ago.

But it isn't until
the turn of the century

when things start
to go crazy... literally.

In August of 1900,

the lighthouse keeper,
Charles Marshall

is painting the structure

when he loses his grip
on the support line.

Having no way
to pull himself up or down,

he dangles terrified for hours

in plain sight...

And though
he is eventually saved,

he spends the rest of his life
in a mental hospital,

ranting about the island's
paranormal energy.

The next keeper,
George Legatt,
drowns in a boating accident

after just seven months
on the job.

A third keeper,
Joseph Townsend,

also dies under
mysterious circumstances.

The lighthouse is reportedly
built on the former site
of a native village

that was levelled
during the British invasion
of Mackinac.

Today, St. Helena Island
is said to be haunted

by the restless souls
of the three keepers.

The energy there is creepy.

across the lake,

The lighthouse is unstaffed
for the winter season.

[Phil] Before we link back up
with the other group,

Juwan and I rig up
a couple of trail cams

in hopes that maybe
something shows up

in this eerily quiet forest
after we leave.

We got ten seconds.

Anything that might explain
the cracking branches

or strange heat signature
we observed.

[Jessica] Oh, my gosh.

Okay, it looks like
we're almost there.

After our initial
call and response sessions
in the lighthouse bedrooms,

we make our way up to the top
of the 63-foot light tower

and try to make contact
with any of the keepers

who met their demise here.

[Dalen] Are you trapped
in this lighthouse?

[voice on device]

-"We're not."
-[Marcus] "We're not."

[Marcus] So is this your home?

Do you choose to stay here?

-"Yes."
-[Marcus] That said, "Yes."

That was clear.

you guys alive in there?

We're actually at
the top of the lighthouse.

[Phil] Hey,
can you see us flashing?

Yeah, I can.
Can you see us?

Yeah, we're heading to you.

Let's get it.

[Juwan] Yeah,
they're right here.

-What's up, guys?
-[Marcus] Dude.

-[Jessica]

it's safe to say
those woods are haunted.

We had a branch fall
out of nowhere.

That doesn't happen
in the woods often.

Those woods were silent.

...they were the most quiet
woods I've ever been in.

So no wind, no nothing.

Nothing.

[Jessica] I mean, I definitely
think we can all agree

-that the island is haunted.
-Yeah.

The lighthouse is haunted.

I just don't think
it's a bad haunting.

the haunting here

is connected to the haunting

On Mackinac?

[Jessica] Something is
amplifying this area

and it's just making it easier

for the spirits to interact
with the living.

There's so much activity here,
I could truly stay all night.

But there is a ton of ground

on the mainland.

we shift our focus back

deserted Mackinac Island.

After giving
the Ghost Brothers a quick
lay of the land on bike,

we decide to split up again
on foot.

Juwan and I are headed
to the docks

to see if there's
any paranormal connection
to the water.

-Y'all be safe.
-We will.

Phil and the others
will stay streetside.

According to the town
historian, Phil Porter,

this whole main area of town
next to the water

could be littered
with human remains

and shallow unmarked graves
dating back centuries.

[Phil] You seeing
what I'm seeing right here?

[Marcus] Ooh.

[Dalen] Anytime we come across
any type of like
disturbing of land,

any excavating,
that type of disturbance

amplifies paranormal activity.

-[Marcus] Most definitely.
-Anytime
you're displacing things

-that were once there,
disturbing things...

possibly be
actual bodies down here.

[Phil] That's 100% true.

So, the reason
we're checking on you

is... you guys wanna tell him?

Yeah. On the Spirit Box,
it literally said,
"Run to Juwan."

-Wait a second.
-What?

Every time you walk
through downtown Mackinac,

you walk with the dead,
literally.

Almost every new
construction project here
uncovers ancient bones.

A 2011 excavation for a hotel
uncovered a mass grave

of ancestors of
the Chippewa tribe,

who were later given
a proper burial.

But the greatest number
of bodies

were reportedly discovered
beneath the island's famous
Grand Hotel.

When it was built in 1887,

the construction crew
discovered so many skeletons

that they allegedly
lost count.

And perhaps that's why
the Grand Hotel

is notoriously haunted

with fabled ghosts
like the Woman in Black,

who has been seen walking
her dog on the hotel's porch.

Even happy hour is said
to feature apparitions
with the libations.

The bar is supposedly haunted
by a top-hat-wearing ghost.

But, who knows?

Maybe witnesses have just been
overdoing it on the red rum.

[Jessica]

-[Phil] Yeah,
we definitely were.

So, yeah, we called you
the second
we heard the name "Juwan."

So that's kind of crazy.

Can we actually be
summoning activity on
another part of the island?

[Jessica] I mean,
it's an island.

It's all connected.

Nothing that happened
on the island

wouldn't affect everyone here.

[Juwan] Right.

[Jessica] So, yeah,
I don't see why
it wouldn't be connected.

[Phil] After the crazy
Spirit Box message

that possibly
referenced Juwan,

we decide to reunite
for safety in numbers.

[Jessica] Hey, so you guys
see that fort up there?

-[Ghost Brothers] Yeah.
-So, I met a historian
up there

and we were standing up top

and he pointed down
to this area where the park is

and he mentioned that
this whole area right here,

there's probably bodies
left behind

'cause that's where
the old cemetery used to be.

Not only that, but that is
where the battles took place.

So definitely
a few fallen soldiers.

And that this is also,
all along the water,

where the Native Americans
buried their dead
when they were here.

So we're like walking on
a bunch of dead bodies
right now.

-Yes.
-And there were a lot of
battles over that fort.

-[Jessica] Yeah, quite a few.
-[Phil] So...

[Phil] And you could imagine
this would probably be
the battle front

if they're comin' in
from the water.

-[Juwan] Yeah.
-[Jessica] Absolutely.

[Jessica] Given its history,
this area of the island

just might be the epicenter
for human remains

and restless souls.

We're still in the same
general area

as where
the graveyard would be.

So in an attempt
to make contact,

we unveil
our most powerful tool,

the REM Portal.

It's a cutting-edge

we observed

absolutely nothing.

There was no animal movement
of any kind

that could account for
the cracking branch...

...or the strange
heat signature
in the deafly quiet woods.

[Phil] It's really unusual.

[Josh]
As for the downtown area,

the REM Portal announcing
words like "ghost"...

...led us to follow up
on the list of names
that emanated from the device.

Is there anybody

a now-deceased former resident
of the island.

Add all that up,
and it's easy to see

why Jess remains convinced
that Mackinac Island

represents one of
the most intelligent hauntings

she's ever investigated.

Phil, on the other hand,
is not convinced,

believing a
ghost-town reputation

can easily lead to unfounded
paranormal conclusions.

So, which is it?

Perhaps,

and visit Mackinac
for yourself.
