Floral umbrellas.

(Gao Yuan, the Lord of the South)

According to the flags,

it's the Lord of the South garrisoning the South.

Yeah. What's going on?

Generals have been coming back from different places.

Something big seems to happen.

I heard the court would start a war against Dongyu.

Is that true?

Looks like our good days will be over.

Yeah.

- Start a war. - Indeed.

Silence, everybody.

Silence!

Silence!

His Majesty has something to say.

About the war against Dongyu,

we need to give it further thought.

Your Majesty,

all the generals have been summoned back.

Should we put the war against Dongyu

on the agenda?

Yeah, Your Majesty.

Dongyu deceived us.

Now, the North Prince has been killed by them.

Generals like us really can't bear it anymore.

We will be the vanguard

- to destroy Dongyu, Your Majesty. - Exactly.

- Destroy Dongyu! - Destroy Dongyu!

His Majesty said he didn't want a war.

Why are you guys so stubborn?

Your Highness,

this is a state affair.

Stay out of this, will you?

Your Majesty,

the generals have come all the way here.

They want to make military contributions

for you, Your Majesty.

Your Majesty, Prime Minister is wrong.

We just went through a famine.

Now, we should recuperate.

We can't start a war so casually.

If we really do,

I'm afraid our state will be in big trouble.

You don't know anything! Don't be so dramatic!

Will we just bear this?

- Yeah. - We can't bear it.

That's right.

Your Majesty,

all the generals are ready to fight.

If we don't fight Dongyu now,

we'll be a joke of the world!

Not to mention Dongyu,

even other small states will bully us.

Yeah. Prime Minister has a point.

Indeed.

It's the best time to fight against Dongyu.

That's right.

We'll kill the Princess of Dongyu first.

A small state like Dongyu

is no match for us.

- Yeah. - That's right.

Your Majesty,

give a decree.

Otherwise,

you'll really be a joke.

Shiyu was killed in Dongyu.

What are you waiting for?

Your Majesty, please give a decree!

Your Majesty, please give a decree!

Your Majesty, please give a decree!

Your Majesty, please give a decree!

Somebody.

Declare the decree.

Are you forcing His Majesty to give a decree?

- The North Prince? - It's really him.

Isn't he dead?

He isn't dead.

He... He isn't dead.

- Shiyu! - His Highness isn't dead.

- That's great. - He's alive.

It's really the North Prince.

Isn't he supposed to be dead?

What is going on here?

Uncle, you must be disappointed to see me alive, huh?

Greetings, Your Majesty.

Shiyu, get up.

Thanks, Your Majesty.

I'm relieved to see you alive.

Sorry to keep you worried.

You may rise.

I went to Dongyu for the letter of marriage.

This trip was dangerous.

I also didn't expect

I could come back alive

and brought back the letter of marriage.

Please review it, Brother.

(Letter of Marriage Between Beishuo and Dongyu)

The Emperor of Dongyu

will not only pay tribute every year

but also offer their special horses to us.

Such a big offer

proves the baseborn princess

is also a beloved daughter.

A baseborn princess gets us such a big offer.

You all underestimated her, huh?

Dongyu people never care about the lineal identity.

Their emperor

values his children equally.

He even spoils his young daughter.

During our conversation, I could feel

how much he loved Princess Yueling.

The marriage thing has been precarious.

But it now seems

to be a heaven-sent destiny.

In this case,

I think we'll give up

sending our army to Dongyu.

No way!

Your Majesty, the generals came with loyalty.

If you send them away now,

won't you be making fun of them?

Before we decided what to do with Dongyu,

you hurriedly invited the generals

to the Capital City.

Did you do that

to show Dongyu people

we wanted to fight them

and get me killed there?

Shiyu, what are you talking about?

Dongyu deceived us first.

We couldn't just sit around doing nothing.

Uncle, I'd like to ask you.

You promised to give me one month,

but later you summoned the generals.

Didn't you do this

because you were eager to send an army

and start a war?

Mind your language, Shiyu.

A wrong accusation

is too much for me.

Forgive me, Uncle.

I had a narrow escape

back to the Capital City,

only to witness such a stressful scene.

I can't help feeling worried.

Actually, it doesn't matter if I'm dead.

But once the war is started,

the two states will be in chaos.

About the stakes,

I guess you know much better than I do.

His Highness has a point.

Since the misunderstanding is cleared up,

we'd better make peace with Dongyu.

Think it over, Your Majesty.

If we let go of Dongyu so easily,

I'm afraid some other states will think less of us.

Our frontier soldiers will also be disappointed.

The Lord of the South, you've garrisoned the frontier.

What do you think?

Your Majesty,

I am a general.

It is my duty to garrison the frontier.

As for the war thing,

I take orders from Your Majesty.

A war wastes both energy and money. I don't want it, either.

But if we have to fight,

I will do my best.

I guess

other frontier generals think the same way.

Uncle, you're overthinking.

Everybody, you've see

the big offer from Dongyu.

If we still don't let it go,

we'll be narrow-minded.

I think I'll pick another wedding day for them.

Your Majesty,

the generals came with loyalty.

How could they leave without anything?

Speaking of this,

the generals

indeed traveled a long way here.

I feel quite sorry.

Prime Minister, since you empathize with them

and it's you who summoned them,

please send them back on my behalf

and placate them.

Thank you, Your Majesty.

Xingyi, are you all right?

I'm fine.

Glad you're fine.

Yueling.

Shiyu...

His Highness is fine.

He was just injured.

Now, he has recovered.

Injured?

- Yeah. - He isn't dead?

No.

He isn't dead.

He isn't.

Shiyu isn't dead.

I was freaked out.

He isn't dead.

What did you just say?

He was injured, huh?

Where's the injury? Is it serious?

Yueling, don't worry.

He's reporting in the palace.

He's totally all right.

You'll meet him soon.

Then why was there a message

that he died?

Never mind.

Yueling, I have some good news.

Come with me.

Come on. Be seated.

Yueling,

Father got back Du Er and Zhu.

Seeing through your faked letter,

he sent someone to get them back.

Oh.

Now, Zhu is pregnant.

Father cares so much about the baby.

He didn't mean to blame anyone.

And when I was back there,

I handled a lot of things.

The trip was worth it.

- Father didn't blame anyone? - No.

That's good.

Oh,

on your way back,

what exactly happened?

Why were you assassinated?

On our way back...

Never mind. It doesn't matter.

Look, Shiyu and I are back.

Right?

Oh,

Father and Zhu miss you very much.

They asked me to bring you the letters.

(To Yueling)

You read them.

I... I should go.

I have something to do.

(and come back early.)

(Father, Zhu,)

(rest assured.)

(I'll take good care of myself)

(and go back to you as soon as I can.)

- I'll go see Yueling. - Shiyu.

Shiyu,

knowing you died,

I was so worried.

I couldn't believe it.

The other day, I went to the temple for praying.

I'm so happy

to see you alive.

I'm fine. Thanks for caring, Luoyi.

I knew you would be a survivor.

Shiyu, go back with me.

My brother is back.

How about I cook for you

when you can drink and talk?

I should visit Cousin when he's back.

But I have something important to do.

(Deqing Hall)

This time,

we frustrated Uncle

in the court.

But he will not let it go.

I guess he'll make trouble again.

I took the throne at a young age.

So, I had to rely on Uncle.

I pretended to be weak and made him Prime Minister

to control the ministers.

Sadly,

everything ends up like this.

Don't blame yourself, Brother.

Everything is different than it used to be.

Some important ministers have paid allegiance to you.

Some other ministers have a wobbler, too.

Even Uncle

doesn't dare to make a rash move.

If we have to fight Uncle one day,

we should do early deployment in Liuzhou.

In today's case,

someone holds the key.

Do you mean

the Lord of the South?

Exactly.

Generals take orders from Uncle.

Over the years, Gao Yuan has commanded troops in the South.

Among the generals, he's the most prestigious.

If he supports me,

we'll stand a better chance.

But the late emperor ordered

the Gao Family shouldn't stay in the Capital City.

In case they rebel with their troops.

We can find out what he thinks

before we have a plan.

What's so good about that Dongyu woman?

Why does Shiyu keep breaking my heart?

Don't worry, Your Grace.

His Majesty hasn't made them a couple yet.

But Shiyu is bent on marrying her.

It's just a matter of time.

Ping'er, I don't want this.

I just don't.

Your Grace, you can't drink more.

What's wrong, Luoyi?

Who bullied my sister?

Brother, take me away.

Away from this sad city.

Luoyi,

I want to take you away.

But it's the destiny of our family.

Only when you stay in the Capital City

can they be satisfied with me.

Brother,

don't go, will you?

Then...

Then,

no one will dare to bully me.

Brother.

Luoyi,

when I'm back here,

I'm not leaving again.

Really?

Brother.

During your trip, I guess

someone wants to get you killed.

Will you really go?

The Lord of the South is now here

who has the biggest army.

Why would I turn against them?

I'll let them get what they want.

When the generals and I go out of town,

we'll discuss a plan.

When the emperor is far away.

It's wise of you, Prime Minister.

But sadly,

I guess the Lord of the South

will take His Majesty's side.

No one from the Gao Family

can be underestimated.

Keep a close eye on them

and take action accordingly.

I get it.

I'll leave you in charge

of affairs in the Capital City.

Yes.

I will

come back.

All dishes are served.

Let's eat.

Why do you not eat?

You come here every day.

Ignorant people will think

it's your own mansion.

Tired of seeing me after only a few days?

Then after you marry me,

will you even kick me out?

That's not what I mean.

Come on. Eat more.

You ate very little these days.

You've been thin.

Some time ago, you gave me

quite a lot of healthy food.

I've eaten my weight in it.

I can't stand it.

Why is the rice so sweet?

I'm done eating.

No appetite.

Way too sweet?

Only a little bit.

What about Lingxi?

She's gone.

Gentleman, don't go.

(We should take military precautions in case of a war.)

(Memorial to the Throne)

In all these memorials,

they request a war renegotiation.

Prime Minister took a beating.

But he hasn't stopped his schemes.

I guess he'll find another chance

to bring up the war thing again.

Since he is so passionate about war,

I'll play against him someday.

In my opinion,

the Prime Minister may have

a bigger ambition.

Over all these years,

Prime Minister has been drawing over forces.

He's been ambitious for a long time.

I don't think we can stop him.

Forming a clique is terrible.

As a general,

I focus on military tactics only.

If we can strike first

and take him down in one stroke,

we're also likely to win.

Are you saying...?

the Lord of the South

insists that Princess Luoyi should marry you.

It gives me a real headache.
