And I must say we are all shocked.

We feel that Fela Blackburn was not only a part of this awful crime

but she had us all fooled.

Allegedly. We have to say "allegedly" for legal reasons.

But she deceived this entire city.

Marley, I know you fought hard for this, for Officer Caleb,

whose charges were dropped, but also for Fela.

She was your friend.

I can tell you this does nothing for my trust issues.

What can I say, you know?

When you think about these people and how they used

such an awful political hot button to deceive us all,

what do you say to that?

There's a lot of injustice out there.

There's a lot of things that we have to fight against.

There are police officers that are killing innocent Black men,

and what I've found from these cases is that...

many want to make it political.

Many want to make it racial.

When you take the arguments of the left and the right out of it,

it's still fundamentally wrong on every level.

I don't want to believe that the window to fix this is closing.

I heard a conservative news channel say

that because Fela, Kevin and my former boyfriend were in on it

that there shouldn't be any merit given to any of these cases,

and I just think that that's bullshit.

What I would hope that would happen

would be that we would pay closer attention

to these cases-- all of them-- fairly and objectively

so that we can get to the heart of these issues,

which are race relations and officers.

just define what is right and what is wrong,

and when someone is wrong, treat them as such,

but when someone is right, then we have to stand with them,

whether we believe what they believe or not.
