Mall Santas are going on strike.

That's right, Jason, in
an official strike supported

by the Santa's Guild of America,

it seems that mall Santas,

all across the state are
unhappy with the low pay

and long hours of brutal
inactivity

associated with the job.

Mm. The apparent instigator,
Frankie Hester, had this

this strike has been a
long time coming for mall.

Santas everywhere.

We don't get paid nearly
enough to sit there

for hours on end.

Talking to delusional children,

people try to convince us

that the joy of making kids
happy is half the reward.

This is false.

It's deeply troubling to
look into a child's eyes

and tell them they'll get exactly

what they want for Christmas.

When you can tell from the kid's clothes,

there's no way their
parents are gonna afford

an electric scooter or gaming console

It's a flat out lie.

My whole career is a disgusting facade,

and I don't get any more
joy from it than I get from

cleaning up my sick dog's mess every night

when I get home.

brand new homeless shelter is

set to open downtown funded only

by donations from the general public.

The shelter will be able
to provide beds to hundreds

And something inside of me has been filled

with the Christmas spirit.

The people I met while

even know still existed.
