Coco Jones is not standing in front of me right now.

She is a phenomenal actress. She's a Grammy Award winner.

She's a dancer. She literally does it all.

I love the excitement on your faces.

Ari: Coco's really on the rise, and she's also kind of a model

of how I want to be in the industry,

especially as a black woman. I'm like, girl, you're there.

How y'all feel right now?

Man, I'm just trying to, like, get in a creative space.

Yes. Just finish school.

What are you doing in school?

Well, I just graduated from USC for theater.

Oh, amazing. So you're gonna act, too?

Yeah. You're a star.

Like, kind of on the flip side, I'm going into my senior year.

Which school are you at? The Berklee College of Music.

Do you cover, like, musical theater songs or --

So, what's really crazy is I'm supposed to be at school

doing "Jesus Christ Superstar."

Ah! Playing Jesus.

Ah. I played Jesus.

Bryson: Yes, you did. Yes, you did. Yes, on NBC,

right on this network. We did it live. Yes.

Then I was like, oh, well, I'm gonna have to miss out on Jesus.

But I get to learn from another Jesus.

After I graduate, I do plan on moving to New York,

and the hope is that I will book a show.

I've always wanted to make music and make art,

but I grew up in a little town in North Carolina,

and there wasn't a ton of diversity.

It was very isolating.

But my parents did a wonderful job

of making sure that I got exposed to the arts.

And seeing people that looked like me on a stage

made me believe that this was something that I could do.

And now I'm here.

Getting to work with John and Coco,

it's really progressing my art and furthering my training

Yeah. and pushing me in the direction

that I want to go in.

John: I wanted them to sing like a modern R&B song

because Bryson does runs like an R&B singer,

but sometimes he reminds me of a more like,

classically trained type artist.

And then Ari, I think, is more of like a quintessential

modern R&B artist.

Her singing Brandy, her singing Muni,

I think it fits her style to a T.

Ari is young, but she has a very star energy.

I really was captivated by her,

and she's really exciting to watch.

It definitely is a little bit intimidating

just to have people of that stature

just trying to create the best version of me.

Having this experience be right after school

has been really amazing.

Feel like I've been in school for my entire life.

I mean, I was probably about 7

when I started performing arts camp,

and I've been doing it since then.

I remember junior year of high school was very overwhelming,

and at one point, I did get diagnosed

with a form of depression.

It is something that can take a toll

and kind of reel you back from being on stage.

And so I'm just really proud

that I was able to get to this point.

That fear, it's there, but you learn how to push through it.

Bryson is definitely well trained.

You can tell that he went to school for this

and that he really values classics.

Bryson, your voice is gorgeous.

One caution -- Lay it back

a little bit in certain moments Okay.

Right. The beginning was very intimate,

and then the hook should be about us.

Right. Nobody knows you like I do,

And maybe finding, like, the fun.

Okay. Even in the short amount of time

that I have been here, there's just so much

that I feel like I'm learning. And so I really,

really, really hope that I get to go through to the knockouts.

I do feel very glad that each coach has their one steal

Part of being a solo artist is, down the road,

and I just want to fall madly in love with a singer

and their voice that I felt was singular.

Hayden is a phenomenal musician.

He has a jazz background,

and it's crazy how cool his voice is.

To see Kate Hudson, that was the most amazing thing.

I grew up with a crush on Kate Hudson.

Hi. Such a huge fan.

She's not only a great actor but a great singer.

This song is one of my all time favorites.

I gave them "My Funny Valentine,"

which is one of the most classic songs,

and it's just gonna be a beautiful performance.

Hayden: It's timeless. Adam: It is a timeless classic.

and while you'd think that it would be more suited for Hayden

because that's kind of your wheelhouse,

I think there's part of that in you, as well.

There's just a jazzy quality to both of you. Yeah. Yeah.

I am so excited to work with Adam for the first time.

Before "The Voice," I was a sports reporter in Cleveland

and working my job as a cycle instructor.

Let's get those muscles moving.

Being a cycle instructor has definitely helped me

become a better singer and a better performer.

Let's keep it going. Being in front of people,

no matter what the setting is,

you have to find a way to have confidence

and not let the nerves and the anxieties take over.

In the blind auditions, to have Michael join me on the stage

and sing with me was incredible.

but I want to add my own modern energy to it,

because I think that this music needs to be brought

into a new generation.

The beautiful thing about the battles

is that you have these two completely different artists

coming together to connect and make something beautiful.

Lucia and Hayden really highlighted that for me.

They just transport you to like another dimension.

So, music is my passion,

is by working as a substitute teacher.

mostly in this particular school

called Dunbar Vocational Career Academy.

I actually was a dancer and an actor as well.

The thing that made me want to audition for "The Voice"

is that the voices were the creme de la creme comes.

I connect with this song because this was a song

that I heard Musiq Soulchild do live.

This was at the earlier stage of my career,

when I was getting in the midst

of singing hooks for different rappers,

and we had this showcase

just to show what I had been working on.

And Musiq Soulchild came to perform,

and he got on stage and he did all his classics.

So, it's kind of crazy, that full circle.

I'm doing this song now.

Antonio: Going against somebody that got a four-chair turn,

it's nerve-wracking, but he's somebody

that's going to make me want to elevate myself

even more as well.

Coco: Antonio has a really bright energy in his voice

and in his personality.

BD has a really smooth voice, like that chill radio,

that quiet storm is such a huge part of R&B

would sound great on, like, a vinyl.

But this battle is so important to me

because I've got a lot of people back home rooting me on.

My mom has a form of blood cancer

and unfortunately she wasn't able to come

to my blind audition.

I'm just so grateful and thankful for her.

This performance will have to be for her.

So, this key is good for you on the melody. Yes.

But when it goes up to the melody, it's just a tiny -- I can hit it.

I think my only concern is I may have a tendency

to do that at home when I play shows, you know,

if I get excited or something like that

and I have to hit a super high note,

it tends to get a little bit screamy.

So, I think that's my only worry on that.

Jaelen: I definitely have my work cut out for me,

but it's going to be more of a focus

on keeping my head about me

and being the best I can for my partner.

My mom and aunt and grandma

definitely influenced my country music taste.

My grandma is a die-hard Brooks and Dunn fan,

so she might have been more excited than Mama

to hear that I was singing "Neon Moon."

Back home, we'd have bonfires all the time.

This is a song that was played every time, actually.

You know, growing up we watched

the early seasons of "The Voice."

I used to tell my mom and my family,

"I'm going to sing on that stage one day."

For that to actually come true,

I mean, that means the world to me.

It means the world to them.

-That felt -- -How did that feel?

-Better. -That feels so much better to me.

Really good, that tempo.

And they still have room to do the runs, you know.

It gives it a little lift. Yeah.

Those dips are really important for your style.
