There's something
kind of slithery

about how it's creeping along
and looking around.

paranormal footage

you have to see...

What is that?

When it comes
to soliciting

paranormal activity,

there are many modern devices

that can assist.

Like night-vision cameras...

What the hell is that?

...EMF meters...

Is this safe
for me to do this?

But some believe

that perhaps
the most effective way

of contacting the dead...

is through
good old-fashioned empathy.

When a person begins to relate
to the spirits around them,

that person knows it...

what may have happened

to two men in Georgia

who were simply extolling

of an abandoned house

and may have awoken

one
of its original inhabitants

in the process.

have been invited to explore
a home in the woods

that has been abandoned
for decades.

If you can see it
right behind us, it's...

a huge old creepy house
out here in the woods.

I'm Robert Wright,
and this is my video.

I don't think we'll be able
to use the steps

'cause they're
a little overgrown.

We'd heard legends
about this house

for quite a while

before getting the invitation

to go out
and actually film it.

It was kind of a farm

that everything was
just left behind in.

The place was
just kind of as it was,

as it had been
walked away from

about 60 or 70 years ago.

This looks like...

like what we would consider
like a sharecropper house.

I'm assuming
that's what you're thinking as well, right?

Dan and I are
not paranormal investigators

by, you know, any means.

We are strictly historians
and preservationists,

and we document
these historic sites.

Here we go.

Oh.

You can see right there

that the house was
originally...

boarded back,

and you can see

that the inside
of the house was whitewashed.

But while the pair's intention for the visit

may have been historical...

After you.

...once they start exploring

underneath the house,

something shifts.

I crawled
under the house,

and that's very common
for me to do, you know,

on these exploration videos.

We like to look at how
these old houses were built,

and it helps us define
an age of the house.

And in this case...

...that's
not all it does.

Listen closely.

So that's
a 1958 Coke bottle, right?

Oh, that's weird.

While Robert
and Dan lie

underneath
the house together...

...footsteps.

Despite
no one in the house.

Sure as day, I heard

what sounded like footsteps.

We both popped out
from under the house

as quick as possible.

Like, you know,
"What is this?"

It was wild.
You know, that was--

Definitely the hair was
standing up on my neck

at that point.
On both of our necks, in fact.

- You heard that, right, Dan?
- Yes, I did.

For me, this is

one of the most legit videos
I've seen,

probably I've ever seen.

That was weird.

I love
when people just happen

to step
into a paranormal situation

and they weren't expecting it.

I mean, you can tell
it's a genuine emotion

that they don't know
what's going on.

And I think
my favorite part of this is

that we get a continuous shot.

There's no cuts.

They don't cut away.

The person filming,

we can see him scooching out

as the footsteps are
happening.

We can see the other guy.

We know it's neither of them.

And they are out

and looking back in that cabin

within seconds.

And there is
absolutely nobody there.

Oh, that's weird.

I am 100% a skeptic

when it comes
to that sort of thing.

We don't go to these places
looking for spooky places.

We go to it for the history
of these sites.

So I'm 100% a skeptic.

You know,
it's one of those things

where I need
100% undeniable proof.

And I think that that is
just about as close

as we've ever gotten to it

in something that was

that unexplainably spooky.

Spooky.

Hello?

Yet not necessarily...

malicious.

It gave me chills

because it's so subtle
in a way.

It's almost like
there's an imprint,

some sort of echo
that's left behind

of whoever lived here
years prior.

And the presence,

of Robert
and Dan in particular,

may have played
an important role

in that echo's capture
on camera.

When you go there
and you start to empathize

with the individuals
that lived there

throughout the generations

and imagining the people
who built that house,

which was probably members
of the family,

and you start looking
at the structure

and you're all giving
your input,

like, "Wow, I liked
how they did this."

Doesn't
that look like an early-settlement-style...

chimney there?

It does.

I could just imagine

the ancestors that built
that property being like,

"Yeah, man. Like, yeah,
I built this myself."

And I'll tell you, that's one
of the best stimulators

of paranormal activity.

Apparently,
whether you want it or not,

because for the
paranormally-disinclined duo,

it was pretty scary.

We're going to go ahead
and get out of here.

Near Red River Gorge,
Kentucky,

Doug McLoney and his wife have
just moved into a new home

that, because
of its rural locale,

they have outfitted
with security cameras.

And one Sunday,

when Doug is catching up
on household chores,

he goes through the footage
recorded by the camera

that films his driveway

and sees something disturbing.

So he plays it back again

and records it with his phone

while he
and his wife watch it down.

It's a figure,

pale, gangly,

and hunched over,

slowly sidestepping

across his driveway.

And Doug
and his wife are baffled.

Hi, my name is Doug McLoney,
and this is my video.

I was surprised,
totally surprised.

But then again,

where I've been raised,
in Kentucky,

I've just had all kinds
of just weird experiences.

So part of me in my head was
thinking, you know,

that's something cool.

That's something
that shouldn't be out there.

It looks like
his legs are bent backwards

or his joints are
backwards almost.

He's definitely not human.

You can tell he doesn't walk
like a human does, for sure.

What we see is
this strange skulking creature

sort of menacingly walking
across the driveway at night.

The figure...

seems to be all one color

as white.

It seems to be

somewhat slender

and not moving
like a normal...

human gait.

There's something
kind of slithery

about how it's creeping along

and looking around.

It's also curious
that this thing does not look

like it's trying to hide.

It's not behaving

in a particularly
stealthy manner

as it moves around

in a fairly open area.

There's a moment
where the face kind of turns

toward the camera,

and it looks very...

disfigured.

You put all this together

and you think of the fact

that it's out
in this rural area

in the middle of the night,

not clothed properly,

I don't really know
what the hell this is.

Neither did Doug.

But when he posts the video
on social media,

commenters focus
on one particular creature,

the wendigo.

It kept
popping up and saying

that they think
that's what it was.

So I did my research,

but I'm more familiar now

than when I was before,
for sure.

The Wendigo is a legend

from the Algonquin
Native American tribes.

Now, they're usually described
as pale gray,

very thin, elongated heads,

large, dark eyes,

kind of like a gray alien.

They're said to attack humans
and eat them

or possess their souls,

so that that human has
a desire to eat other humans.

If so,

not a good thing to have

in your driveway.

But also,
as Doug himself said,

in these parts,

not quite as unexpected

as one might think.

I was raised in Kentucky.
I was close to Mothman.

So growing up, we always heard

of supernatural things
going on around us.

The Kentucky Goblins,
plural, were

actually this set
of small creatures

that terrorized, famously,
this one household

for a long time.

They're sort of associated
with a series of caves

in and around
this particular region

of Kentucky.

And they end up becoming,

you know, one
of this larger body of experiences

that takes place

in the Appalachian Mountains.

The woods are dense.

These are the classic
fairy-tale-style woods

where, you know, things are
lurking in the darkness.

And with so much
supernatural activity

in one rural area,

this creature could be

almost anything.

Even something springing

from the ecosystem itself.

It could
be an egregore

of what humans are to nature.

Imagine an entire forest,

like the foliage, the plants,
the flowers, the fungi,

sees man as this awful,
diabolical thing,

cutting down trees,
burning up things,

ripping the land
of all of its nature.

And the fear
of these sentient beings...

has turned into an egregore

of, like, their fear
of humans.

If that's the case,

then maybe it's us

who are truly terrifying.

But whatever it is,

Doug is happy to have
captured it on camera,

even if only to confirm

what he's always believed,

that something else

is out there.

I feel like
I actually have proof.

I always keep an eye out.

I mean, if it happens, I--

are exploring a local cemetery

that has developed

a notorious reputation.

Apparently paranormal activity
does happen

all over this cemetery,

and that's normal
for cemeteries

'cause there's a lot
of wandering spirits.

I actually got

paranormal
investigator friends

who were telling me
about this cemetery.

They said they had
reported seeing apparitions,

a lot of weird sounds
and voices

out of thin air they heard.

Cemeteries are

probably one
of the most interesting places

to investigate

because you have
so many different emotions,

so many different energies,

so many different
time periods.

When you start
digging up the soil

and you're
bringing in headstones,

usually made
from marble and limestone,

there's a lot
of quartz content

within those stones,

which I believe take
energetic imprint

from people that come
and grieve at grave sites.

Which is exactly
what Alex and Carlos are

hoping to capture.

Yo, I'm definitely
going to go in there.

The two decide
to start their investigation

in one of the mausoleums,

a building that is
the resting place

for numerous bodies.

And while there's nothing about the inside's appearance

that seems off at first,

there is something odd

about the feel of it.

I felt like cold air just go
right behind me.

Have you ever seen
a scary movie

and that right before
it just--

like that thrill just comes
right in,

that gut feeling you get like,

"Don't go in there,
don't go in there",

that's exactly
what I felt like

whenever I was there.

And that feeling
prompts them

to pull out
their spirit box app

and get to work.

How many spirits
are here?

Three? That's
what it sounded like. Three.

Which,
after some small signs

of communication...

...leads
to a much bigger one.

in the mausoleum falls over,

seemingly on its own.

I was scared,

but catching
something like that's amazing.

But for Alex
and Carlos,

there's much more to come.

In a lot of videos,
we see spirit activity

where very lightweight items
are being manipulated

in some way.

In this case, though, this is

rather heavy-looking
upholstered furniture

that would take quite a bit
of force exerted on it

to move it around
or push it over.

That was
clear as day.

In my mind, I was thinking,

like, what did
I just document?

What did I just catch
on camera?

And the more activity they capture,

the more it seems to manifest.

I just seen a shadow figure.

What?

I seen, like,
this black figure, like, move

outside the frame of the door.

I know what I seen
with my eyes.

It was definitely
a clear shadow figure

that moved. 100%.

That was tall,
whatever it was.

- I seen it clear as day.
- Bro.

I seen it clear as day.

I don't see anything.

And though
they seem to lose sight of the figure,

it may be much closer

than they think.

Because when they decide

to move their investigation
elsewhere...

We're going to go check out
the other mausoleum

on the other side
of the cemetery.

...they spot something

on the way.

- What is that?

That's the figure!

Oh, my God!

A dark figure.

Perhaps the same one
Alex saw before.

Seems to walk across the wall

of the opposite mausoleum.

It's one thing to see it
with your physical eyes,

'cause you could be
in a haunted place.

You see things out the corner
of your eye all the time.

But to catch it on camera
that clear is amazing.

- What is that?
- What is it?

What is that?

When they're outside

and they see
that shadow figure,

it's something very solid.

And it seems to just kind of
take off the other way,

almost as if to not
want to be seen,

not want to be caught.

But it is caught,

though in this case,

it doesn't make identifying
exactly what it is any easier.

You'll see apparitions
of people at grave sites,

but it's not necessarily
the apparition

of the person buried there.

It'll probably be a loved one

who went there
every day grieving,

missing this person,

and then that type of energy,

that sorrow, that sadness,

that imprint manifests
as grief,

as like a shadow person.

It's like, faceless.

Faceless,

and perhaps impossible
to put a finger on.

But Alex and Carlos are
more than comfortable

not knowing for sure

and end their investigation

for the night.

That's the thing
about paranormal.

Everything's unknown.

There's more questions
than answers.

So I don't know
what we saw that night.

I don't know
what we experienced.

All I know is
it was terrifying. And...

what we caught on camera is
like once in a lifetime.

pass a legendary apparition.

Capturing
an entity on camera

is extraordinary.

But while seeing,

in some cases,

is truly believing,

there is another element
to these sightings

that should always be paid
close attention to.

The literal

feel of the moment.

Because often,

these phenomena aren't
just visible,

they're palpable.

And depending
on the particulars

of those feelings,

it could be the difference

between an incredible story

and never

making it home.

It's around 9:00 p.m.

and José Maria Rios
and a few friends

are doing what they do
on most days after work.

Huh?

Recording
their bike ride along trails

at the La Mesita
Eco Tourism Park in town,

with just
their bikes' headlights

showing the way.

And for José
and his friends...

... it's just like any

of the many other rides
they've taken.

Or so they think.

Because, later that night,

when José sends
the footage to his friends,

they spot something...

strange.

Watch closely.

Did you see it?

Watch again in slow motion

along the side of the trail.

A figure,

dark, immobile,

and at the time,

completely unnoticed

by José and his friends.

If you look at it closely,

it resembles
what we call here an entity,

a ghost.

I watched it again and again,

two or three times.

There came a point

where I felt astonishment

because we had never seen
anything like it.

This one really,
really spooked me.

It looks like there's

maybe a translucent woman,

a legit apparition.

She appears to be wearing

maybe a purple or black dress.

She's got what looks
like maybe a veil

or long hair kind of obscuring
her face a little bit.

One thing to me
that really stood out is

it looks like its hand is
pointing right at the ground,

almost as if it's trying
to tell José something.

Could this be

a sacred spot?

Could there be
something buried right there

that it wants exposed?

Or could it even be
perhaps the area

where this being had
lost its life

due to some tragedy?

José
and his friends have the same questions.

So the next night...

...they return.

And when they get to the spot
where the figure was standing,

they don't see anything
out of the ordinary.

- But...
-

We traveled
the route and it feels

something heavy

because
the environment changed,

and you can feel
the cold air in some parts.

But then,
in the place where we saw it,

it was hot.

It's no surprise to me

that they're going in between
warm and cold spots,

because in order
for these types

of apparitions to manifest,

they have to draw energy
from somewhere.

Typically,
when you encounter

a ghost or a spirit,

you'll feel a cold sensation

from that sudden extraction
of energy

that kind of leaves
that vacuum.

But when you feel
the temperature raise

and it gets hot,

that usually teeters
over to something

maybe a little more nefarious.

José is thinking
along the same lines.

In every place,
there is an urban legend.

Here in particular,

there is always talk
about La Llorona.

A woman with a veil,

legend says cries
for her children.

So that's what we think of
and that's why we felt fear.

And rightfully so.

But could the specifics
of the apparition's look

point to something else?

Maybe this is
something like La Llorona,

but I'm getting,
like, a whole era

because of what she's wearing

and the colors
that I'm seeing.

This apparition is wearing

what looked to be like
a purple dress,

like a purple attire.

She kind of seems like she was

in mourning attire,
but specific mourning attire.

It's Georgian mourning attire,

even to like, the color
of the dress.

That was the color
of mourning for women

of a certain class.

If she was truly mourning
the death of somebody,

maybe it had affected her

in such a way where she...

couldn't take it anymore
and took her own life?

Possibly.

But whatever it was,

seeing and feeling it
over those two nights

has changed José
and his friends

forever.

From that moment on,
we all started to believe

a little bit more in this.

And that it is
something paranormal.

Because like they say,

you don't believe
until you see.

And this happened to us.

the Museum of Shadows,

a four-story
paranormal collection

of haunted artifacts,

museum owner Nate Raterman was

overflowing
with creepy security footage

of various objects moving...

on their own.

And four years later,

Nate's new captures...

are just as startling.

So the museum houses

over 3,000
verified haunted artifacts,

and we do add new items
every single week

to the museum.

And with every new item added to the collection,

Nate says
the activity skyrockets.

It's definitely
increased dramatically.

It gets pretty intense.

Like this wheelchair...

that is caught rolling

on its own.

The wheelchair was actually from a psychiatric ward

and it literally--

it just randomly moves
out into the room.

Um, it's really--

it happens
actually quite often.

And a portrait
that suddenly...

falls off the wall.

That photo's been
hanging there for a few years.

I mean, it's got
an attachment to it

and it's on a hook with like,
a wire on the back.

So it actually lifts up
and then comes down.

There's also activity

that's not clearly attached

to anything at all.

Like this sudden flurry
of small orbs

falling from above.

It's really interesting

because it starts
with like a couple

and then it's just
all of a sudden

there's so many in one spot.

I've looked
through the footage

a dozen times and it's just--

it's really--
it's just different.

And it makes me wonder,
you know?

Now, haunted items can
elicit activity

in one of two ways.

Either A,

the item itself has
an energy attachment.

Maybe there's a spirit
or some residual energy on it

that is causing this activity
to manifest. Or...

there's nothing special
about the item,

but it's acting as a catalyst

that's setting off
pre-existing energy

that's already in the house.

There's always
something different that happens

and... it amazes me

because some things are
real little that happen

and others are
really dramatic.

And perhaps most dramatic

is Claire,

a doll discovered tied
to a chair

inside the basement
crawl space

of an old home in New Orleans

and donated to the museum.

Claire actually has

a very demonic attachment
to it.

Very, very evil.

I've seen it myself,

where her case
almost looks like--

the glass in it will fog over

as if she's breathing
inside the glass,

or the case itself will
start shaking.

That's just her--

That's just its entity's way
of letting them know,

like, "Hey, I'm here,
so be careful."

Another way
Claire does that

is by moving.

Watch the leg to the left.

The way her leg moves,

it moves very naturally

like if a human were
to move a leg.

It takes so much energy

for an entity
or a spirit to move

physical objects
in our reality

because they are not built

to interact
with physical things anymore

because they're
just forms of energy.

So even to move

the doll Claire's leg

the slightest bit...

takes so much energy.

But where is
that energy coming from?

And how did it get
inside Claire

or any of these objects

in the first place?

I believe it's all about
man emotional attachment.

I think that any object

that means a lot to somebody,

a family heirloom,

any one of these objects
that is so loved

or even so not liked,

if they have bad feelings
about this object,

there's still some kind
of emotionality

that is imprinted
on this object.

And can that energy be
released in the future?

And can we experience
that energy?

There's a lot of people
that would agree with that.

I think that energy stays
on that object.

And if you take
one object like that

and add 2,999 others...

Most people don't have

any haunted objects
in their house.

Some people might have one.

A few people may have five.

But to have
3,000 haunted objects

under one roof,

and then you trying to wonder
about why what's going on?

That is a recipe
for paranormal disaster.

You just asking for trouble.

You asking for trouble.

Thankfully, for Nate,

he welcomes

all of that trouble,

the paranormal field.

I've been doing it
for quite some time.

I mean, even prior
to the museum,

I've been in the field
for over 20 years,

so I don't see it ending
anytime soon.

I mean, it does
startle you at times,

but it's such a rush to do it
at the same time.

baffles the residents

of a city in China.

For most people who see

something strange in the sky,

the most challenging part

could be trying
to explain to other people

what you think you saw,

even if you captured it

on camera.

Unless, of course,

everyone else you know...

saw it too.

That's what recently happened

to the populace
of one city in China,

who looked into the sky

during their morning commute

and saw this.

September 2023,

in Heze,
Shandong Province, China.

It's rush hour,

and millions of citizens are

going through
their usual morning routines

on their way to work.

But today...

is anything but routine,

because in the sky above,

an unidentified phenomenon.

Bright,

strangely shaped,

and...

as another angle
of the activity

from a separate part
of the city shows,

it's mystifying everyone...

watching from below.

I'm going
to say it straight up.

I don't know

what the heck
we're looking at here.

I don't even know
if it's flying.

It seems to be more like
some sort of light phenomenon,

but one that I've never
seen before.

Unlike other lights
in the sky that we see,

these were not
clearly defined.

Not that all the lights we see

in the sky are
clearly defined,

but these weren't round.

They weren't
any particular shape.

These pieces
of light almost looked

like fragments of glass.

Like they had edges
that made it look

like they'd maybe been broken.

And maybe...

there's something to that.

It almost looked like a rip

in the fabric of space-time

is what I was getting.

I felt like we were
looking through...

to some other world.

We all understand

that we are only nothing
but a mere mustard seed

in the drop of what
the universe actually is.

So what is outside of that?

And what if...

that was a rip
in just the soul

of whatever that could be?

A terrifying prospect,

and one that was
collectively shared

by many.

This isn't just

the idiosyncratic experience
of one person.

This is a community.

This is a full group
of people.

We can see them.

Different angles,
different shots,

people looking up,
pointing, staring at it,

talking to each other
about it.

There are a lot
of different people seeing this.

And any time we have

that element of consensus
or community

in something like this,

it adds this whole other layer
of authentication.

So clearly,

it's authentic.

even if we don't know
exactly what it...

is.

There are, like, three types
of phenomena like this.

You have your UFOs,
which are usually saucers,

your UAPs, which is
Unidentified Aerial Phenomena,

which is lights, orbs,
and everything.

The third category is
called Other,

which is just like,
totally unexplainable,

and it has its own category,

'cause you just don't
know what it is,

and I think
that's what this is.

This isn't a UFO,
this isn't a UAP,

this is just something else.

What should you do
in the event

you witness
something paranormal?

Here are some tips
to get it all on camera.

Check your footage.

And then...

check it again.

Be wary

of any late-night visitors.

Be brave,

but not too brave.
