All language subtitles for 1.7 What s in My Kit Bag - 2022

Okay, so I wanted to do a little

video, a very brief one, to show you

guys what's in my kit bag and what

I take to each and every wedding.

There'll be another one for destination weddings, but

this one is geared purely on domestic weddings

that I go to in the UK.

So, let's take a look at the bag.

Okay, so we are using the DB Journey

Backpack Pro with an insert.

Let's open it up.

I'm just going to go through each piece

of kit one by one.

Okay, so here's the kit bag.

First up, Canon R6 and an 85mm RF

1.2 lens.

Okay, so that's the first piece of kit.

And then we're shooting on another Canon R6.

And this time I go to is the

35mm 1.4 Mark II.

And on this one, we have the control

ring adapter.

Personally, I would advise that you go with

a control ring adapter because you can map

that to ISO, which is a really handy

feature to have.

Okay, so that's the second piece of kit.

And you'll notice on both of those that

I'm using the spider holster clips.

So, I carry both cameras on my hips

with this, the spider holster belt.

Far better for your back than carrying them

off your shoulders, but entirely up to you.

We also have a 15-35mm, which is

here.

It's not here.

It's on that camera there.

We're filming on the 15-35mm RF Mark

I 2.8. And that lens is primarily

used for me on the dance floor.

It's a really good zoom lens.

That's the only other lens in my bag.

And you'll notice there that I've got three

lenses.

I've had every single Canon L glass there

is, pretty much, to a wedding.

I've gone to some weddings before with eight

lenses in my bag.

It's just unnecessary.

Just keep it simple.

The more time that you spend chopping and

changing gear and worrying about which lens to

use in which situation, you're just over-complicating

the matter.

Just keep it simple.

35-85mm works a treat.

What more do you need?

If you need to zoom, move with your

feet.

If you like the 24mm, go with a

24mm and a 50mm.

Or a 35mm and a 135mm.

Just try and keep it simple.

Then we have a couple of flash guns.

So, I'm using the Godox V1-C.

The Canon version is so much more expensive.

And these are absolutely brilliant.

They also have a great little modelling light.

So, if it's dark outside, you can just

turn this little light on here.

I'll get there.

There we go.

So, there we go.

You can just turn that on.

So, if it's completely pitch black outside, you

just want to shoot people with a bit

of light, you can just literally walk around

like that.

Perfect.

There's two of those.

Okay, and we've also got a little Manfrotto

LED pocket light.

Again, very similar to the feature that I

just showed you on the Godox V1.

It's just a great little light.

Just such a space saver.

You know, packs a real punch.

Just worth having in your bag in case

you ever need it.

Don't use it a huge amount, but it's

there in case I do.

What else have we got?

Another little step up.

Again, I don't use these very often, but

these are great in the winter if you've

got a late ceremony.

I use them very recently to do family

shoots.

It's a little bit battered, but it's a

Yongnuo LED panel and a couple of batteries.

A couple of batteries there.

A charger for the batteries for the R6.

Peli case.

A vital piece of kit.

This is a must-have.

This is where the cards go in as

soon as I finish the wedding.

Two cards, not all of them, just the

two cards.

And the other two stay in the cameras.

Okay, so a Peli case and they stay

in my pocket.

Next up, we have a GorillaPod.

These are great just for fastening a flash

gun to.

With those, we also need, in this little

pouch here, we have a couple of flash

gun stands or mounts, whatever you call them.

And they just screw on to the GorillaPod.

Get there eventually.

And there we go.

You can hang those off beams, off whatever

it might be.

Get creative with it.

But a great way of putting a flash

gun somewhere if you need it.

And if you're going to do that, another

really good addition.

Again, these are just simple little bits of

kit.

They're worth having.

Just some bungee cords.

So if you are going to hang a

flash gun off part of the venue, as

an insurance policy, just tie it with a

bungee cord.

Just put a bungee cord around it.

If that fails, you do not want a

flash gun landing on a guest house.

Trust me.

That'll hurt.

Okay, a few of the little bits of

kit.

We have just a little flick knife.

But I mean, be careful to unpack this

if you go abroad because that's going to

cause you trouble in airport security.

But just a little light, a little screwdriver.

You just never know when you might need

stuff like that.

And then the final bit in this bag

that we have are some lens wipes.

And a walking chemist's supply of painkillers and

day nurse.

Day nurse have saved me on a couple

of occasions now.

Definitely worth having in the bag.

So that's that bag empty.

And then the only final thing is that

on the day when I'm actually working, that

bag just goes away somewhere in the corner

of the venue.

Just safe and secure.

Most of my kit is on me.

And then I use this Billingham little satchel.

So in here we have just another flash

gun.

And we have fuel, a vital ingredient to

staying energised.

And we have a Cliff energy bar.

Again, they often go within about an hour

of me being at a wedding.

I'm on like two hourly feeds, you see.

So they don't last very long.

And then we have batteries in here.

And when those batteries get used, they go

in the other pouch on the right hand

side.

So I know that the ones on the

right are the ones to recharge.

And that is my kit bag.

It's a bit messy, but hopefully you get

the gist.

Keep it simple.

Don't take more than you need.

And make sure you've got your backups in

place.
