plan in 1975

was to have no popular
music and no hosts

and just do sketch comedy and
be canceled within six weeks.

When I was a writer
here, I once

went to Lorne Michaels office,
and I asked him earnestly

and sincerely to please cut
the second song by Linkin Park

to make room for one
of my sketches.

And he said, we don't do that.

And thank god he
won that argument.

Can you imagine if we didn't
