When I saw this,
I could not believe

what I was looking at.

A paranormal

There were a few times
that we definitely felt

like we were in danger.

A police officer
in Brazil

spots a legendary
fire serpent.

This is nuts.

This is not a phenomenon
that we see often.

What otherworldly
substance is floating

through this California
parking lot?

Oh my... What?

I'm going, what is going on?

This is bizarre.

And even more
paranormal footage

you have to see...

to believe.

In the world
of the paranormal,

shadow figures are usually
thought of as negative,

intelligent voids,

that spy on the living
from the darkness.

But if you see one,

before you jump
to any conclusions,

it might be good
to look at things

from a broader perspective.

Because sometimes,

depending on
the location's history,

that shadow figure
might just have a good reason

to be there.

Just ask one
paranormal investigator

from Washington,

who went
to a storied restaurant

and captured a shadow figure

that may just be
its former owner.

January 14th, 2015,

in West Seattle, Washington,

Ross Allison and his team
of investigators

are at the Alki Homestead
Restaurant,

setting up
for an investigation

that was originally delayed
for years.

I'm Ross Allison
and I filmed this video.

I have always felt
comfortable at the Homestead.

I think its story is unique.

The story was that
Doris Nelson

had purchased it
back in the 1960s.

And so after her death,

I think she still
remained there

because this was
also her home.

And after her passing,

a lot of the staff
and customers

have had experiences.

The owner,

he actually would be awoken
in the middle of the night...

- by receiving phone calls

from the restaurant.

And, of course,
when he'd answered the phone,

nobody's there.

He even said that dishes
were flying across the room.

One time,

the commercial refrigerator
that they had,

the door came off the hinges

and flew across
the restaurant.

After that,
they had contacted me

and my team
to do an investigation.

And he had also reached out
to a psychic

that he was aware of.

And the psychic
was telling him

that the spirits were unhappy.

But she also forewarned him
of a fire.

And just before we were to do
our investigation,

the great fire happened.

The 2009 fire
gutted the restaurant,

and prevented Ross' team
from investigating the place

until 2013.

This is pretty cool
over here.

Tonight is his third time

officially investigating
the Alki since then.

I wanted to know
what was going on.

I wanted to know what
the mystery was, you know.

Why was so much
activity happening?

And while Ross's team

had captured
minor paranormal activity

on the prior two
investigations,

tonight is decidedly
different.

We were just setting up.

I actually wasn't even
paying attention.

I was just getting
the camera turned on,

adjusting the equipment,
adjusting the camera.

Watch closely
at what Ross's camera

catches by chance.

Did you see it?

Watch again,
in the far doorway,

as a shadow seems
to check out Ross

and then quickly duck
for cover behind a door.

Ross doesn't see it

until he reviews
the footage later.

And he is stunned.

I couldn't believe it.

When I saw this,
I could not believe

what I was looking at.

I had to go over it,
you know, 50, 60 times

slowing it down, speeding up,

trying to figure out
exactly what's going on there.

And it was...
it was just a shock.

This was one of those
truly accidental moments

that when you see it
is truly terrifying.

Clearly,
there's something in that room.

You can see a head,
you can see shoulders.

And when that camera
pans back into that room,

it exits out of that frame.

It always seems that
when we see footage like this,

you've seen the object
or the entity

or whatever it is,

it disappears behind a wall
or a doorway,

and when they go to check,
there's nothing there.

So, what was the point
of the peek around?

Was it curiosity
or an invitation

to come find me?

Tough to say.

We do know, however,
that shadow figures

are usually not to be
trifled with.

Whenever you have
a shadow figure like this,

oftentimes, they seem
to be negative.

They seem to be
revealing themselves.

They're not this bright,
shining white light,

but they're this dark form,
this dark mass

that seems to be
showing up in rooms

when this paranormal
or poltergeist activity is occurring.

But considering
the restaurant's past,

could this actually be
the spirit

of a once living person?

Could it be an old employee?
Could it be an old owner?

Assuming they understand
that they've passed on,

why wouldn't they come in
and check the place out?

"What's my restaurant
doing now?

And how are people
treating my restaurant?"

Ross is on the same page,

especially given the fact
that Doris,

the former owner,
used to live upstairs.

I think it's safe
to assume that it is Doris.

This was her home.

She put her heart and soul
into this place.

So, I think she still
is up there

living the rest
of her afterlife

in her old apartment.

And he believes
all the activity before the fire,

the mysterious phone calls,
the broken dishes,

and the flying
refrigerator door

were the result of Doris
trying to reach out.

I think what
was happening is maybe Doris

was trying to warn them

of this fire
that was gonna happen.

It was electrical fire.

They had too many
Christmas lights

plugged into one outlet.

And that's what caused
the fire.

I think she knew
what was about to happen.

And I think she was frustrated

with the fact that no one
was listening to her.

No one was taking advantage
of the signs

that she was trying
to give them, the warnings.

A constant presence
of people,

employees, servers,
and guests at a restaurant

provides the opportunity
to see these patterns

of activity that happen.

So things like glasses
flying off tables,

unexplainable noises,

knowing that those
are common things

that happen here,

that really provides
some substantive context

for the shadow figure
that's looking out

behind that door.

Whoever it may be,

Ross is just grateful that
his capture contributes

to the restaurant's
eventful history.

Hopefully, you know,
stories like this,

the evidence like this
will continue to draw people

to this place and realize

what a historic
and amazing story that...

It could be noon.
It could be midnight.

It could be 3:00 AM.

That place is always creepy.

It is always horrifying.

You constantly see
shadow figures move.

You think you see people

out of the corner
of your eye.

And then you look
and there's nothing there.

You definitely get a vibe
that you're not alone.

Ooh, I'm getting bad,

like head to toe chills
right now.

And as Patrick
breaks out his Ovilus device,

it quickly becomes clear
that tonight is no different.

Ambition, soon,

- age, animal.
- Animal.

And I don't like anything
that it's saying right now.

No.

No, this is not
a spirit box. It's different.

This is an Ovilus

which is a very
specific device

that has a dictionary
of program words within it.

And depending
on the frequency

that's interacted with
on the EM bands,

allegedly spirit
can pick out words.

Oh, my God.

Unholy.

- Did you hear that?
- Yeah.

But Patrick and Jason are about to experience

something much
more frightening

than some chilling EVPs.

Especially, gasp.

We don't really see
any apparitions,

but we hear them
making their presence known.

What's that right
there?

A piece of, like,
wall or something?

Oh, that's it, huh?

There seem to be things
flying around

in the rooms and hallways.

You want us
to go up there?

Whoa.

What the was that?

That was in that room, right?

What is that?

It's just like bits
of rocks and stuff.

- Like brick.
- Brick.

The fact that
so many different objects

seem to be being thrown
at these investigators

starts to suggest,
if not something intelligent,

at least something
a bit aggressive.

When the Ovilus
does say things like unholy

and things start getting
thrown by unseen forces,

it definitely leads
towards something

upset that we're there.

Upset enough,
it seems,

to go on the attack.

I keep hearing,
like, these weird noises.

Whoa.. Ow.

Are you all right?

Yeah. That hurts.

There were a few times
that we definitely

felt like we were in danger.

What was that?

It's a piece
of the ceiling, dude.

It's a piece
of the ceiling?

We have no idea where this
giant piece of ceiling

came from.

All we know is that it
smashed into the staircase

without us knowing,
like where it came from.

The fact that
this is falling down

in front of them,
right where they are,

as they're communicating
with whatever spirit

or spirits are there
is no coincidence

in my opinion.

I mean, that thing was, like,
a foot by a foot,

and it came flying down.

Puncture.

Rage.

It just said
a puncture and rage.

And that looks like
a piece of the ceiling fell down.

It was horrifying.

Horrifying,
but not surprising

given the history
of the Washoe.

The Washoe Club
gained a reputation

as being one
of the most haunted places

in the Old West.

During the boom years
of the Gold Rush,

this place saw a lot of life,

and I'm sure it saw
a lot of death as well.

There's a lot
of people that moved

through those halls
and even lived there

at different times.

But there were also gunfights
that broke out there

and you can see bullet holes
in the ceiling.

There's a lot
of emotional energy

attached to this location
good and bad.

It's just a great part
of the stew

that gets mixed up.

A stew that eventually,

for Patrick and Jason,

is a little too much
to handle.

- Okay, we gotta go.
- Oh, my god.

That said it, dude.

Dude, we got to go.

The Ovilus said " hell"

but it didn't say it in like
the normal voice that it has,

it, like, said it in this
weird like lower octave.

We both just kind of
looked at each other

and Jason was like,
"It's time to go.

Like, we need to go."

Well, that's not
the right way to go.

And for Patrick,

someone with dozens
of investigations

under his belt,

the Old Washoe Club
is one for the books.

I don't know
what it is about that area,

if it's a portal
or something like that.

But it definitely seems like
The Washoe Club

is just like a hotspot.

And not only do we know it
as ghost hunters,

but the spiritual side,
the ghost entities,

whatever you wanna call them,

um, they know it as well
and take full advantage of it.

cross paths

with the legendary
woman in white.

Seeing an apparition

on the side of the road

is one of the most common
paranormal tropes.

But as terrifying
as an experience like that might be...

there's some comfort
that ultimately your vehicle

can get you out of there fast

unless of course
that apparition

has other ideas.

Two brothers in India
can vouch for that

because when they tried
to speed away

from a terrifying
roadside spirit...

...they soon realized...

...it wasn't quite done
with them.

2014 in Ooty, India,

Santosh Mandal
and his brother

are in town to purchase goods

to sell at their hometown
family market

when on a sightseeing
joyride...

something strange happens.

Watch closely.

As along the side
of the road,

a figure, clad in all white,

terrifies the brothers.

Hello. Hello. Greetings.

My name is Santosh Mandal.

This one
is really creepy.

We have two people.
They're on a motorbike.

They're driving
down the road,

obvious, lots of wind noise
going on

and we see quite clearly,

a very tall, slender,

looks like maybe cloaked
and hooded figure

just standing
on the side of the road.

Now, if that were a person,

I would imagine if there were
a speeding motorbike heading

towards you,

you would flinch
and move out of the way.

But this thing
doesn't do that.

It seems to be sort of immune
to the presence of others.

The fact that it just
shows up in front of this motorcycle

shows me it's trying
to put these men

into some form of peril

for them to lose
their balance,

for them
to slide off the road,

potentially injure
or kill themselves.

The brothers
think the same thing.

Which is why
they speed away from it

as fast as they possibly can.

And about a minute later,

they started to calm down...

until...

Watch again.

As what appears
to be the same white figure...

pops up in front of
the brothers' path yet again.

Sending them both
into hysterics.

Could this be
two separate entities

or is this one entity that was
able to manifest incredibly,

quickly on both ends
of the road

that these motorcyclists
were driving down

because even if she was like,
running as fast as she can,

even if she was
an Olympic runner,

she would have never been
able to catch up with them

at that speed again.

But if this is a ghost,

whose ghost is it?

One of the most
commonly reported

ghost stories that we hear

is of this figure
in this long white outfit

that really just wanders
the road silently.

A lot of the older
stories of the woman in white

tended to depict a woman
who was betrayed

and killed by the man
that she loved and married.

And so when she dies
at the hands of her husband,

she manifests back
in a place of love,

you know, like, the first day
of her marriage.

And the way
that legend always wraps up

in all the different
variations of how it's told,

is that people are being led
to their deaths

by this figure.

That this figure
seemingly in need of help

is actually there
to lure people

into a fate
similar to the one

that it seems she likely met.

And while
the woman in white

is a world-wide phenomenon,

it seems especially prevalent
in India.

I've seen
so many clips in the roads

of India,
the shrouded white figures.

Whoo! Whoo!

that!

And I'm not sure
if these are like,

these hitchhiking ghosts,

but they seem to be
incredibly solid

like, an actual person
wearing a white shroud.

If it's one rule
we should all be aware of

with the paranormal,

it's beware
of hitchhiking ghosts.

TheBoitata,

a flying serpent
made of fire,

said to protect
the rainforest of Brazil

from any ill-willed visitors.

Legend even has it

that if you stare
at theBoitata long enough,

you'll go blind and insane.

Thankfully, most understand
theBoitata

to be merely
the product of folklore.

Or is it?

Because if theBoitata
isn't real,

then how do you explain this?

February 2001
in Parana, Brazil,

a police officer
named Fernando

is driving in a rural area

when in the distance,
he spots something strange.

High up
in the trees,

a ball of fire.

That as Fernando
moves closer to it,

seems to be both
growing in size.

And somehow seemingly,

moving on its own.

It eventually
disappears from sight.

Then reappears
a minute later...

...in a completely
different location.

Finally,
the ball of light

vanishes again,
this time for good.

What on earth
did Fernando just witness?

This is nuts.

This is not a phenomenon
that we see often.

This looks like fire,
red glowing fire,

moving seemingly
of its own volition

through and on top of
this forested landscape.

It's not just
a flaming ball of light.

It's like a flaming
ball of light

encased in like,
a diamond light.

You see like, not only
the rainbow effects

of a super bright light
but inside of it,

it's like this molten lava,
like, flame.

It's a ball of fire.

There's no doubt about that,

but if it was a normal
kind of flame,

wouldn't that set
the tree ablaze?

As this man videotapes it
and rolls down the road,

it seems to be changing
location along with him.

A fire literally
just can't do that.

It's hard to say
what's happening here.

It looks like a ball of fire
exploring a forest.

Sounds bizarre.

But not if you're familiar
with Brazilian folklore.

I lived briefly in Brazil
and this calls to mind

the Boogeyman-like stories
of the Boitata

that was told to children.

It was said that this was
this great fire serpent

that protected the forests
from intruders.

Intruders that sought
to burn it down.

Now, if this is aBoitata,

that would make sense

because it would be
tracking him,

ensuring that he is not
an invader

that seeks to do harm
to the forest.

And this concept
of a natural guardian

is more common
than you might think.

Cross-culturally,
we see this belief

in elemental creatures,

creatures that are based
in water, fire,

earth, or air.

And every culture
expresses this differently

but they often emerge
in animal forms.

Water creatures often
are described as horses.

Fire creatures almost
always are described

as some sort of serpent.

Now, if this is a
fire elemental

that is taking the form
of the snake

or some other
serpentine creature

and has been seen by people,

maybe the first person
who came up with the legend

of the Boitata
saw not a fire snake

but an elemental.

And if that sounds
farfetched to you,

maybe you should
take another look.

I do believe
that myths, legends,

they have a kernel of truth.

They have that as their core.

And this clearly to me
is showing us

that maybe
this legend is true,

we are seeing something
that does not make sense

that should not be,

but clearly we are
watching this on this video.

it's 6:30 p.m.
and Brandi and Jesse Wales

are getting ready to enjoy
a pleasant California sunset

when, from their patio,

they see something in the sky
that fascinates them.

A black object
completely immobile.

Brandi and Jesse
are baffled.

Hi, I'm Brandi.

I'm Jesse.

And we are the ones
that captured these videos.

My first reaction
was that's weird

and just trying
to figure out, you know,

could it be a, maybe,
like a helicopter

or something like that
but, no.

After a little while, no.

I was there
for hours.

Even when the sun went down,
you could still see it

sitting there in the sky.

I didn't even know
what to think about it?

Like, I was, like...

I don't know, I was...

It was strange
and I was confused.

I don't know.

I don't know
how to even explain it.

We have an object
obviously there.

We can see it clear as day,

solid, dark, triangular object

that is just hanging
in the sky.

It almost looks like
a black chess piece

that is suspended in the air.

There are no wings.

It's not moving.
It's stationary.

Generally, objects in the sky

are going someplace,

whether they're floating
or whether they're flying,

they're not stationary.

This thing is completely still

for a very,
very long period of time.

For me, I got to actually
see it through a set of binos

and when I looked through it,

it looked, kind of,
like, a pyramid

and it looked like
it had like,

there was a bunch of etchings
and stuff on it.

It looked like it was stone
with like,

big carvings all over it.

His description
of seeing this craft

and having a pyramid shape
with inscriptions on it

makes my mind think
of Egypt and hieroglyphics,

but there's also several
videos that we've looked at

which involved
this pyramid shaped UFOs,

one over Russia

and one over these
different locations.

Are we looking
at a similar craft

or maybe one of these crafts
that had been filmed before?

Tough to say.

But like the other
pyramid-shaped UFOs,

this one was also hovering

over a government fortress,

Camp Pendleton.

I'm actually
a former Marine.

I was in Camp Pendleton
for eight years.

That's what I was trying
to go through in my head

and try to figure out, "Okay.

What are all
the different helos,

different rotors that I know,

any aircraft that can sit
and, you know,

hover in one spot"

and I went through them all.

There's none
that I can remember.

Living nearby at the
29 Palms Military Base,

if they were gonna be doing
any sort of testing,

I would get an email
in my inbox

or a text message
on my phone,

the heads up
that this was gonna happen.

If this some form
of extraterrestrial craft,

I think the reason why
it's hovering

in and around Camp Pendleton

is because it's keeping tabs
of what the military is up to.

Jesse is thinking
along the same lines.

I just think with the way
the craft looked,

it'd probably
be extraterrestrial,

just, kind of, you know,
checking things out,

you know,
"What are you guys doing?"

You know, checking out
capabilities and stuff

just like anybody
would scout anybody else.

Military,
extraterrestrial,

or otherwise,

one thing is for sure,

it's unnerving.

I think it's scary.
It, kind of, bothers me.

I look at that same spot
almost like every day.

When I open my windows,
I look at the same spot

to see if, "Did it come back?"

Like, I look around,

I don't see anything
but, yeah.

I always looked out there
to see

if it's out there again.

in San Ramon, California.

All day, Scott Brooks
and Bear Matoza

had been seeing
strange objects in the sky...

and it's weirding them out.

- I'm Scott.
- I'm Bear.

And this is the video
that we filmed.

We had been noticing
what looked like plastic bags

and I said,
"You know what, Scott,

let's go look
because if there's some bin

that's open
that these plastic bags

are flying through the air
like that.

Let's go close it."

But when they
catch up to the objects,

they saw flying
through the air.

Scott and Bear soon realized

that they aren't plastic bags

and they begin to film.

Mmm, can somebody
please explain to me

what is going on?

Watch.

As strange tumbling masses...

Um...

should I, like,
introduce myself?

...that resemble small clouds

but clearly aren't
move about the parking lot.

Scott and Bear
get back in their truck

and keep filming,

beginning to get
a little concerned.

Oh.

- God.
- Is that even

- in front of my truck?
- Oh, my God.

All of a sudden, this thing
the sizes of our truck...

is following the truck.

Oh my... What?

Oh my... What?

And I'm going,
"What is going on?"

This is bizarre.

Bizarre indeed.

Hello.

This is not something
you see every day.

What the heck is this thing?

It's hard to figure out
what's going on here.

It can't be clouds
but they're as light as clouds

but they roll as if
they're some

kind of actual
physical material.

They're touching the ground
and sort of rolling along

it like weightless
tumbleweeds.

It almost looks like...

like soap bubbles,

but really, really big
and really, really dense.

But even the edges
seem to stay pretty firm.

They bounce along
through this parking lot

and they don't fall apart.

I literally have no idea
what this is.

I can't even begin to guess.

And my mind went to,
"What is this

that the government
accidentally released

into the sky?"

Oh my... What?

Oh my... What?

When people
document weirdness,

I think increasingly
people are willing

to embrace
a paranormal explanation or...

they believe that
the government is behind it.

But assuming
it's not from the government,

where could it be from?

Is it perhaps
some of the toxic foam

that has been reported
in certain areas of the world?

Or maybe it is actually
an alien entity

cloaking itself as a cloud

and doing a really bad job
at it?

If that's the case,

it wouldn't be the first time

they've tried
something like this.

Man, that's crazy.

I ain't never seen...
You seen one of them before?

I know some
ufologists suggest

that UFOs do use clouds

or will take on
the guise of a cloud

to travel unseen
to the human eye.

And so could this be
some form of UFO

using disguise
but in a very peculiar manner

that's already calling
attention to itself,

so therefore kind of
defeats the purpose

when you're like an odd cloud

in the middle
of a cement parking lot.

We may never know
for sure

what these things are

because Bear and Scott
make a decision that night

based on their whereabouts.

Our location
was military base,

military base, military base.

So I'm like I'm not going
near anything.

Something floating around
military bases

is probably not a good idea
to go poke at it.

Suffice it to say,

Bear and Scott
are comfortable

letting the mystery be.

More questions than answers,

but it sparked our curiosity
for paranormal

by just witnessing
something that close.

Oh my... What?

What should you do
in the event

you witness
something paranormal?

It's just,
like, suspended.

Yeah.

Always be aware
