Previously on Nightclub Confidential...

Nightlife here is very small townish.

It's country and classic rock,
so we decided to do things differently.

Tequila was doing things
that local clubs never did before.

It was the club
where the DJ was the king.

When we opened three years ago,

we were doing nights
of 35 to 50,000 dollars in sales.

When you're the new guys in town,
everybody wants to check you out.

When you're 3 or 4 years old,

now you gotta really work
to get people through your doors.

Those 45,000-dollar nights
have turned to 5000-dollar nights.

We need to get Tequila back on top.

Blair Anton is our new general manager,

and he's the guy
that can get Tequila back on top.

So I've changed the music format
completely to be Top 40,

dance, the odd country song.

The old country music in an electro bar.

and now we're living in the RV.

During the day, I run a business
called MPowered Fitness...

And business is booming.

The past few weeks have been the busiest

Most doormen work two jobs

Mitch's busy schedule

to leave in their hour of need.

Every week's a battle lately.

We hired Blair last year
to implement some changes.

We hoped this would be good for business.

What I wanna try to do is moving away
from the hip hop music,

bringing in a little bit more rock,
bringing a little bit more consistency in.

Blair didn't put the time in
to manage his changes.

As a result, the changes didn't work.

Did you sell a drink already or no? Yeah.

Yeah, doesn't sound
like they did a liquor order today.

There's no rye, there's no gin,
there's no Jack Daniels.

I went there to run basically

Staffing the club has been
a completely nightmare.

We're in rough shape.

We've been getting more people quitting
than we've been getting resumes in.

And it's been ridiculous, so... Just...

When everybody quits...
without any notice,

it doesn't... help anything.

I just wasn't willing to sit
around and babysit...

who didn't wanna be there.

Right away, I walk in and there's problems
that need a manager's attention,

and Blair's just not dealing
with the problems.

Turning on the lighting rig
'cause it wasn't on yet.

The general manager's job
is to be a leader...

...and to delegate responsibility,
but Blair is setting a poor example.

is getting away...

...with standing around drinking
rather than working.

When Simon wasn't burnt out,
he was really good for the club.

He mingled and partied with the customers.

He made people feel really good

and I think people miss that.

Unfortunately, Blair has not come close

for a lot less money to do that.

Putting out fires,
bringing energy in the room,

that's what a manager's supposed to do.

If you're managing a club,
you get heart and soul into the place,

you're a hundred percent into the place.

If you watch what he's doing right now,

he's standing at the front door pouting
because it's busy.

You know, if there's a criticism on me
for not taking control, well, it's true.

I didn't take control,
but I wasn't given control.

There's no heart there.
There's nothing left.

I need to get this house finished.

Winter is coming
and I'm running out of time.

The past few weeks have been

and there's not enough hours
in the day to get it finished.

I'll have to kidnap some porters
and bring them here to do some cleaning.

This time last year,

Mitch was training me
for the fitness competition.

Hopefully,
we're still able to get this workout in.

I have this provincial competition
coming up again.

I really am in a time of need
of Mitch's direct focus and guidance.

The only time that I get
to spend with him...

and I have to come here.

But because it's me,
this is why he can push it.

Working a nightclub
is tough on a relationship.

You work late hours
and there's a lot of temptations...

You should be saving your energy

was extremely difficult.

I just got this email
and it's Blair's resignation.

Been feeling like
he should be retiring since June.

Wanted to make sure
that it was certain that I could return...

before he resigned.

How did I feel about it?
I was sick to my stomach.

I dreaded going in to work. You know.

I just felt like there was nowhere
for me to go there.

I got a house project on the go.

while we're finishing our house.

and it's Blair's resignation.

'cause I can't find it anywhere.

It's the day of possession
and my realtor, Willow,

is about to walk through with the buyers.

But the place isn't quite finished.

for the weekends getting lower...

There's a lot of nights he doesn't show up
until 11:30 or 12:00 at night.

It's hard on the body.
I didn't come to run Tequila long term.

Quitting in the busiest month of the year
is not cool a thing to do.
