what that was.

The spirit of a lost
little girl visits her family

from beyond.

This is a childlike spirit.

It's making noise and happy
noise and playing with games.

A heated argument

unleashes a powerful
paranormal force in Malaysia.

This is really some
of the best paranormal footage

I've ever seen.

And even more
paranormal footage

you have to see...

Oh, my God! Look!

...to believe.

There are those who believe
that our planet

is not only home
to every living thing,

but also the spirit
of everything that's ever lived.

Add to that the belief
that Earth is frequently visited

by interdimensional travelers
of every shape and size,

and it quickly becomes clear
that at any given moment

you could come across
a paranormal entity

without even knowing it,
whether in your living room,

outside in a park,

or driving down a lonely stretch
of road...

...which is what might have
happened to one man in Maine

when his dash cam caught
this terrifying apparition.

During a late-night drive.

July 2020 in Falmouth, Maine.

It's 11:00 p.m.,

and Chet Cook is driving
on an isolated road.

He comes to an almost blind
curve when...

...a deer.

It escapes into the woods,
and Chet keeps driving.

The next morning,

Chet reviews the footage,

and just before he gets to the
part where he spots the deer,

He sees something peculiar.

Did you catch it?

Watch again in slow motion

as a massive shadow-like
creature crosses the street

directly in front of Chet's path
at an incredible speed.

Chet was freaked
because he hadn't noticed it

while he was driving.

My name is Chet Cook,
and I filmed the video.

When I found the footage,
and I went back over it

and over again, frame by frame,

trying to figure out what it is
I saw,

the hair on the back of my neck
stood up

because I didn't know
what that was.

Can you imagine driving down
a darkened road

and having something like this
dart out in front of you?

And as if that's not
crazy enough,

imagine that happening
and you missed it

and you wouldn't have caught it
if it weren't for your dash cam.

I don't know what this thing is,

but it's big, it's dark,
and it's kind of freaky.

It doesn't appear to be solid.
It seems shadowy, blurry.

Yes, it's moving pretty fast,
and it is dark out,

but the headlights
illuminate the road

and most of the details
around it.

So the fact that it's not
gaining any more detail

means that it's something else.

The light almost seems
to be absorbed by it.

It's not reflecting back,

and it doesn't seem
to be passing through it.

It seems like a black hole

where the headlights
just don't penetrate.

At first I thought
it was an animal,

but then you can actually see
the white lines through it.

So it's like a shadow

of something
darting across the road.

And with the velocity
that this car was going at,

it's got to be running across
the street at 60 miles an hour.

It's so fleeting,
so quick, and so massive,

it doesn't come off
as anything terrestrially

to what we know of
on planet Earth.

If it was a physical cat --
leopard, panther, whatever --

you would have seen it show
in the headlights.

You didn't see that.

You saw just a shadow
or just a blur,

just a figment of something,
so I don't know what it was.

And while we may never
know exactly what it was,

there are certain aspects of
the capture that give us clues.

If I were to make my best guess

of what we're seeing here
in this video,

I would have to say
that this gentleman

caught some kind
of residual haunting

or a place memory haunting

of something that has crossed
that road probably 100 times.

Now, imagine this creature
maybe ran across the road

and didn't make it.

It was hit, struck by a car,
passed away.

Now we're looking at
residual energy of this creature

just in a loop,
constantly crossing this road.

Or could it be
something much more terrifying?

When I think of a shadow animal,

the first major traditional
thing

that comes to mind
is a hellhound.

There are dogs associated
with hell

and whether that's
the three-headed dog gatekeeper

of ancient Greek Hades

or whether that is
a contemporary

sort of red-eyed,
evil black dog,

the idea of a hellhound has been
around for quite some time.

A creature of myth,
a creature of legend

and more recently of pop culture
in supernatural-themed shows,

the hellhound is a messenger,
a servant of those dark realms

sent to do a task,
to do the bidding of its master,

either to torment or collect
someone on this side.

Terrifying.

As for Chet,
his mind is open.

Science can't describe
everything currently.

Maybe someday.

But I believe that there is
other things out there

that we just don't know.

Coming up,
a powerful spirit

displays incredible force
in Malaysia.

A heated argument between two people can be exhausting.

The intensity, the stress,
the overwhelming frustration

can all lead
to frazzled emotions

and frayed relationships.

And in the world
of the paranormal,

it can go even further...

dangerously so...

...because in extreme scenarios,

some believe
those heightened emotions

can also lead to terrifying
paranormal phenomena...

...which is what might have been
happening in Malaysia

when an emotional exchange
between two people

started a chain reaction
of events

that threatened
their very safety.

August 2010
in Puchong, Malaysia.

It's past midnight,

and a security camera
captures a man and a woman

walking the halls of a local
driving school after hours.

The pair ends up in a large room

that has just finished
hosting a party.

The two get into
an intense discussion,

and the man is rebuffed.

Things start to escalate.

And the man prevents the woman
from leaving the room.

A minute later, after another
argument, the man leaves.

He walks down the hall
and enters another room

to make a phone call.

And here's where it starts
to get really weird.

Watch as the door to the room
the man is in moves slightly.

Seconds later,
three computer screens turn on

by themselves
directly in front of him.

Freaked out,
he leaves immediately.

It's the last time
the man is seen for the night.

But whatever is in the room he
just left isn't quite done yet.

Watch closely as the chair moves
and the door slams shut.

Meanwhile, back
in the other room,

the woman is texting
on her phone when...

...a chair in the back
moves by itself.

But that is just the beginning.

Another chair moves aggressively
toward her.

She's now freaking out.

She tries to escape.

But watch again

as several pieces
of furniture block her way,

which seems to literally
scare her unconscious.

What on earth did we just watch?

This is really some
of the best paranormal footage

I've ever seen.

I was actually really
freaked out by this video.

There's something about it that
just really feels authentic.

McNEILL:
I thought it was enough when the computers turned on and off,

and then all of a sudden
all the furniture in the room

with that woman
is flying against the door.

I was super creeped out
watching that.

The terrifying question --

could there really be
intelligent spirits

with this much power...

and this much rage?

Sometimes
entities are thought of

to be intelligent spirits,

as if they have a purpose
in what they're doing,

and this certainly seems to be
one of those cases.

That furniture could
have moved in any direction,

but it all piled up
right in front of the door

as if it were sending
some kind of a message.

It seems pretty clear
what that message is --

"You're trapped."

Or could this aggressive energy

have anything to do
with the emotional exchange

between the young man and woman?

There are theories
that poltergeist activity

is psychokinetic activity,

is sort of the chaotic
energy of young people,

young men, young women,
you know,

sort of the chaotic emotions
and physiology and psychology

that's going on
during adolescent years.

The fear response is there,
mixed in with rejection,

mixed in with anger --
a perfect little cauldron

to feed that negative energy
to amplify itself

into this massive poltergeist
outburst we see.

And not only does she flip,

She just reacts so explosively.

She falls over
onto the other table,

That fear is so amplified
by her, you know?

This is out-of-control
manipulation.

We may never know
the real reason it happened.

But we do know it's terrifying.

These are the types of videos
that really freaked me out

because she is definitely
being physically harmed here.

She's being tossed around,

and for something
to be that powerful

and to want to hurt you,
that's really scary.

Coming up,
a Canadian elk hunter

finds himself just
a few feet away from Bigfoot.

Bigfoot, perhaps the most legendary cryptid of them all.

But why is it that after
so many sightings and reports,

we have so few captures
of actual physical proof?

Some believe it's because
Bigfoot doesn't really exist.

Others think it's because
it's always several steps

ahead of us.

And there are even those
who believe it travels

through dimensions
to escape detection.

But there's another theory

that Bigfoot is just really,
really good

at hiding in plain sight.

A man hunting for elk
may have captured proof of this

when he stumbled upon this
terrifying fur-covered creature

standing stone still above
the carcass of a recent kill.

Winter 2019

near Banff National Park
in Alberta, Canada.

Sunny Vader is elk hunting

along the North Saskatchewan
River Valley.

When he sees what appears to be
an animal carcass

hanging in a nearby tree.

He then pans right
and sees this...

...a giant, dark, hairy, mass
standing stone still by a tree.

Sunny points the camera
at what he believes

to be the head
of the creature and lets it run.

Watch as it moves ever
so slightly back and forth

as if it is asleep

or being held incredibly still
to avoid being seen.

Sunny is amazed and zooms out
for a more thorough look.

It's impossibly tall
and hulking.

Freaked out, he backs off
and goes down a nearby path,

where he eventually sees

what looks like a trail
of blood.

He follows it
to another carcass --

this time of a buck.

And then to the right again

is another giant, dark,
hairy creature

seemingly crouched down.

You can see the head here.

In Sunny's mind, one question --

"Did I really just come
across two separate Bigfoots?"

Sunny is stunned
and at a loss for words.

Well, almost.

As I watched this video,

I found myself
so caught up in the moment

that I held my breath.

I didn't want to make a noise
because I didn't want to disturb

what we were about to see.

What we see in this clip
is something humanoid

standing upright
and leaning against the tree.

The fur on this
doesn't look like a bear,

yet It definitely seems
to be the hair

of some kind of a beast.

LeBLANC:
You see fur, you see hair,

and he starts to pan up
and just remains really steady,

and I'm impressed that he was
able to pull this off.

You can see the outline
of a head,

and you can see it moving ever
so slightly.

Whatever this is,
it's camouflaged really well

in this particular
environment.

The dense evergreen woods,
the falling snow,

the shagginess of the hair,
the roughness of the bark.

All of this was very
successfully obscuring

any level of detail
that we might find,

other than to be able to say
there is a big hairy creature

holding very still
and trying not to be seen

right there
up against that tree.

In the second video,
it seems like

whatever this Bigfoot entity is,

it's crouching down and covering
something

or protecting something.

It seems like the back
of the head we're looking at

because it appears to be fixated
on that recently killed deer

that's on the ground before it,

which is probably
to the advantage

of the guy
shooting this video.

He seems like he's closer

than I would want to be
in that instance.

But was Sunny really
ever in any danger?

After all, Bigfoot is known

to be a very peaceful creature,
right?

Typically, when you hear
the phrase "Bigfoot"

or "Sasquatch," you think
the gentle forest giant,

but there are legends, and there
have been a few reports

of these things being dangerous.

Native Americans talked
about how they would come

from the hills
and abduct their children

and take them back
and eat them in.

In the 1800s, miners and farmers
have experienced

these creatures throwing rocks
and logs onto their cabins.

At the end of the day,

we don't really know
all these things about cryptids.

We don't really know
their true nature.

What if they are just like
any other beast

in the woods or forest?

What if they need to consume
other animals to survive?

That very much puts this hunter
on the menu.

Okay,
that's terrifying.

So then if they really
are trying to hide from us,

maybe we should heed
their request.

A little tip for people that are wandering through the forest --

if you come upon a deer
hanging from a tree

and a big hairy creature
standing next to it,

don't film it.

Just get out of there.

It's not a safe situation,
no matter what the creature is.

If you find blood in the forest,

go in the opposite direction
of the blood.

Best case scenario,
it's a Bigfoot -- best case.

Coming up,
a graveyard shadow figure

stalks a paranormal investigator
in California.

Oh, my God!

Many people believe that graveyards are places of peace.

After all, they serve
as the final resting point

for the earthly bodies
of those we have lost.

But it's important
to remember one thing

when you're visiting
a graveyard...

you're surrounded
by hundreds of dead bodies.

And though the majority
of the spirits

once attached to those bodies

may have moved on
to another place,

chances are there are some
who stuck around.

One paranormal investigator
found this out the hard way

when he visited a graveyard
in the early morning hours...

...and was tormented...

It's 3:00 a.m.,

investigating a graveyard

that he has been told
is haunted.

communicate with any spirits

that are lurking to this day,

that filmed this video.

I decided to go to the cemetery
and I'm like, "Okay,

well, let me go check it out,"
but like,

if I'm gonna check it out,
it's gonna be a 3:00 a.m.,

which is considered
the witching hour,

which is considered
the most activity,

especially in cemeteries.

It's known for that worldwide.

Keep in mind, guys,
I'm here by myself.

Every graveyard that I go to,

I've always experienced
the same things --

the whispers, I feel
like something's watching me,

the temperature dropping.

When you're alone,
no one's around,

that's when, like,
things get active.

Oh, my God!
I thought I heard something.

Throughout the years,

there have been many
philosophical debates

and weird ideas about why
cemeteries could be haunted.

But the reality of it is
that spirit is where people are.

They're attracted to us just as
our attention notices them.

So if that's in a graveyard,
that's where they'll be.

If it's at grandma's house,
that's where they'll be.

And though Eric
doesn't realize it at the time,

the spirits
are indeed very close by.

Guys, please be
my eyes and ears.

If you guys see anything crazy,

Watch again as a shadow figure
seems to stand

behind a nearby grave,

then slip behind a tree.

Eric only sees the figure later

when reviewing the footage
at home.

When I was editing that clip,
I was zooming in,

and I was kind of playing with
the coloration, like saturation.

I was like,
"Okay, what is that?"

There was like a cloth
black figure

just standing still, like stiff.

And it kind of seemed like it
was, I guess --

people call it an apparition.

People call it like
a dark shadow entity

that it's known
to be seen in cemeteries.

McNEILL: So there's a bunch
of different theories

about what shadow people are.

Are they demonic presences?

Does that explain
that sort of void-like darkness?

Is it something
from another dimension

or another plane of existence,

something that's maybe carving
out a space in our dimension

rather than actually taking up
a space in our dimension?

It's hard to say,
but we know that they involve

some sort of coagulation
of energy.

Because Eric
didn't see the shadow figure

while he was filming,

He's still calm enough

to start the next phase
of his investigation.

This is a place
where I want to do my session

'cause I feel like I'll get
a good amount of activity here.

He takes out his spirit box

to see if any entities
would like to talk.

Is there anyone here that wishes
to communicate with me?

And this time he is extremely aware of their presence.

Oh, my God!

Was that there?

A nearby chair
that had been folded

and placed against the wall

seems to have been
somehow thrown

at almost the exact moment

that Eric asks
for a sign of communication.

My heart is racing, guys,

I'm like, "Wait, what?
Like, that's impossible."

Like my reaction
was like I got scared,

I thought something
was approaching me.

Eric is now
thoroughly freaked out.

Dude, no, no, no.
This ain't happening right now.

At a certain point, this
investigator begins to feel

a little bit anxious,
maybe even a little bit scared.

And we should point out that a
lot of paranormal investigators

believe that these kind of
feelings can feed a haunting

or feed an entity.

It's almost like you're
giving it energy or power.

I was just all over the place.

I was just confused,
had headaches,

and more importantly,
I just wanted to run.

And that's exactly
what he does.

What?

Whoo!

We got to go.
We got to go.

We got to go.
What the?

But two months later,

his curiosity
gets the better of him,

and he returns to the cemetery
to give it another go.

I was walking around
the cemetery,

and I happened
to come across a mausoleum.

And it doesn't take long

for the fear to overwhelm him
again.

I'm panicking.
This is too much for me.

I will be back.

I just -- I just --
it's too much.

It's too much for me right now.

Watch closely.

Watch again, zoomed in,

as another shadow figure,
or maybe the same one as before,

pops up behind a wall.

And this time Eric sees
it clearly and takes off.

I couldn't believe my eyes.

I've never experienced
like that in my life.

I've never seen
anything like that.

Spirits can show themselves
in many different forms.

Sometimes they're
a full apparition

where they look
like a living person,

sometimes they're just
a faint mist,

and other times,
they're described

as some type of shadow.

So if there was some sort
of shadow figure here

in the cemetery,

it could very well
be the spirit of anybody.

No word yet as to
whether Eric plans

to go to the cemetery again.

But if he does, he's sure
to have a welcome party.

...and like.

Oh, my God!

Coming up,
the spirit of a lost child

returns to play with her toys.

Twins are thought to have an exceptionally special bond --

so special, in fact,
that when one twin dies,

some believe that its spirit
serves as a guardian angel

for the twin who remains --

whether that death
occurs later in life

or even in some cases
before they even leave the womb.

That's what may have happened
to one family in England,

who, despite losing
one of their twins,

seems to have caught her
repeatedly playing

with one of the toys
in their home.

Alex Thorley lives in a home
with his fiancée, Jodie,

a one-year-old stepson, Logan,

and his infant
biological son, Jax.

The family is still recovering
from something that took place

in January
involving Jax's birth.

My name's Alex,
and I filmed the video.

And ever since they brought the surviving twin, Jax, home,

strange stuff has been happening
around the house --

all centered around
one particular object.

Despite repeated attempts,

Alex never managed to capture
the activity on camera

until one eventful night

when Jax was out of the house
with his grandparents.

Alex set up a camera
in the room

and set it to record,

hoping to capture
the phantom crying.

This is the footage
Alex captured.

Watch closely.

The toy
is operating frantically

for no apparent reason,

almost as if a child
is playing with it.

Then Alex asked
a question and got a response

that made him truly believe
that this might actually be

the spirit of his lost daughter,
Angel.

Even more convincing
is the fact that the toy

was performing functions
that Alex later demonstrated

were seemingly not possible.

Level one.

Flick it back off.

And these -- these buttons
don't even work,

but you could see on the video
she had them all lighting up.

When do you have someone
that passes,

especially something tragic
like this with a child,

there is definitely, I think,

an energy that sticks around
with the family.

Those emotions, that energy --

I think it it does continue
to bring

or carry that spirit
of that person has passed

until, I think, the family has
kind of come to grips with that.

And they often reveal themselves

through the manipulation
of electronics.

This is a childlike activity.
This is a childlike spirit.

It's making noise
and happy noise

and playing with games,
and it's playing with toys

that are not easily
made to malfunction.

That's what spirits try to do
when they're present.

They want to get your attention.

They're trying to send
some sort of message.

And I think the message here
is that their daughter is there,

and she is there to comfort them
for as long as they need.

And there might be
a good reason for that --

the twin connection.

The fact that you have a twin
that survived --

that is a spiritual bond
that is really special.

Whatever is happening
here, one thing's for sure --

the love within a family, living
and deceased, is powerful.

McNEILL: Prior deceased family
members are commonly understood

to serve a protective role,
a role as a guide, maybe,

someone watching over
the living people

that they were close to in life.

How much closer do you get
than both a twin

and a newly born child?

And to think that that spirit
is now here,

making sure this family's okay,

making sure that they get
through this period of grief --

I think that's a really moving
understanding of this.

Stephanie Davies is on vacation
with her fiancé's family.

The group is enjoying a scenic
outdoor lunch at a restaurant

when her future sister-in-law
spots something strange.

Without hesitation,

Stephanie gets her phone
and starts recording.

At first,
she sees nothing.

But then...

...a long, white,
oddly shaped object appears,

cruising through the sky,
completely unencumbered.

All of them are baffled.

Hi, my name is Stephanie Davies,
and I filmed this video.

To me it looks like
the shape of, like, a pill,

like an oval.

Your brain is familiar with what
an airplane looks like,

what a jet looks like,

but this thing is not a jet,
it's not a blimp,

so when you see things
like this in the sky,

you can only perceive
it as a UFO

'cause you like, "What is it?"

When you think of UFOs,
there's a few standard forms

that we often think of and see.

There's the black cigar shape.
There's the triangle.

There's often, you know,
the flying saucer.

But we do see these sort of
four-sided geometric shapes

sometimes, too.

There's a small regional airport

about 10 miles away,

but this is clearly no airplane,
both in appearance and sound.

And there was no noise.
There was no noise.

I don't know of any kind
of plane

that doesn't make any noise.

Even if this was some sort
of manless drone of some sort,

you should still
be able to hear it.

Those things have
several motors on them.

They're loud.
They make a whirring sound.

But this was completely silent,
so I don't know.

This is crazy.

And it's not the first time

an object just like this
has made an appearance.

In 2004, a United States Navy
F/A-18 Super Hornet

filmed this strange,
unidentified pill-shaped craft

just off the coast of San Diego.

This footage was just
recently declassified.

And another almost identical UFO
was spotted in Ohio recently,

baffling witnesses there, too.

It's like a cigar shape

It's not making any noise.

I don't see wings on it.

So could this be
from another world?

And if it is,
what is it doing here?

If this is
extraterrestrial in nature,

it does not mind being seen.

Is that because, on one hand,

it views humans as
insignificant, like ants?

Or perhaps it's part
of a desensitization process,

so we become so accustomed
to seeing things in the sky

without freaking out.

Whatever this thing is

and whatever its purpose here
on Earth,

Stephanie is just grateful

to have captured this
once-in-a-lifetime sighting

on camera.

I mean, ultimately,
I don't know what it was,

but I don't think that we're
the only people in the universe

by any means.

I mean, to see something fly
in the sky like that,

that looked round
on every edge --

I think it's from another
planet, which is super cool.

Oh, my God! Look!

That is not an airplane.
