haunted by a prankster ghost.

Seems like a ghost
that I would be friends with.

A massive machine

that seems to be
operated by the dead.

I think I was trying to
sort of rationalize,

"Okay, what am I
exactly seeing here,

and why is
this thing moving?

And even more
paranormal footage

you have to see...

...to believe.

There's a house in England
called the Ivy House that,

once you're inside...

instantly brings you
decades into the past.

Because following the purported
death of its owner in the 1970s,

the house remains
completely abandoned

and its contents
left almost untouched

for the decades
that followed,

frozen forever in time.

Some locals believe
the reason for this...

...is that
the owner refused

to vacate the premises...

...even in death.

Which was the reason
paranormal investigator

Danny Smith recently
visited the house.

And as he
looked around,

it was clear that
he was not welcome.

to investigate
the Ivy House,

long rumored to be haunted
by its former owner.

My name's Danny Smith,
and I recorded the footage.

McNEILL:
The thing that stands out about this particular property

is how much stuff
is still in it.

McNEILL: Objects that
the people who lived there

engaged with
on a regular basis.

It brings their energy
into the space

in a really
undeniable way.

Every object,
to some degree,

retains some sort of
psychic energy,

whether that's from
the person who owned it,

people who have used it.

Every object has that,
so when you have a location

that has a lot of possessions
of a family,

it will increase the likelihood
of strange things happening.

And the strange things begin within the first three minutes.

Look at that.

First, on Danny's K-II meter --

a device that detects the
presence of spiritual energy.

So, the K-II meter is
actually a device

that measures electromagnetic
fields and radio frequencies.

Oh, whoa, whoa, whoa.

And a lot of paranormal
investigators believe

that ghosts or spirits --

whatever you want to
call them --

emit these different
frequencies.

But the meter wasn't
the only indication

of a spiritual presence.

There were
phantom odors...

...and the sounds
of movement nearby.

A lot of people report
smelling the perfume

that their grandmother wore.

The smell of
chocolate cake

that their mother
used to bake.

Smell is very much tied
with memory,

and so, it makes sense that
the memories of these people

would also be attached
to the smell.

So, let's say
you had a gentleman

living in a home
that smoke cigars

every night after dinner.

You might actually capture
residual smells

or phantom smells
of cigar smoke.

Then, moments later...

actual contact.

And, finally,
one more show of force.

Watch again...

as a glass jar is thrown
to the ground.

At this point,
it was clear to Danny

that he was not welcome
in this house.

Oh, no.

In addition to the
electromagnetic readings

that this investigator
is getting,

there also seems to be
some more tangible evidence...

...in the bumping
and knocking sounds

that there doesn't seem to be
any easy explanation for.

They actually
have the capability

of moving inanimate objects,
and you see this clearly

when they move that jar
across the room.

But if this really is
the residual spirits

of the people
who used to live here...

...why so...

I believe the energies that reside in this home --

the couple that
used to live there --

are offended by the people

that just allow themselves
into the home.

If they're intelligent enough

to interact with paranormal
gadgets and investigators,

they're aware of the things
that are going on in their home.

and things getting
thrown around,

that's definitely the spirits
getting agitated

that somebody is
invading their home.

they want him out of there.

in San Ramón, Bolivia.

A man is enjoying the night
on his front porch

when he spots
an odd creature

walking around
the neighborhood.

He keeps his eyes on it,
and when it finally disappears,

he runs back inside

to review his home
security camera footage,

because he can't believe
what he thinks he just saw.

Watch closely as he
talks us through it.

A miniature figure
appears in the street,

walking with what seems to be
a peculiar gait.

It walks into
a neighboring driveway

and, finally, into
the darkness of the night.

The man notes
its wardrobe.

He plays the footage
back again,

this time, zoomed in
on the creature,

and he again is compelled
to note its movement

and its wardrobe.

He is deeply concerned.

This is a freaky
little video.

What we see here...

I could only describe
as a sort of a --

a gnome or a troll
walking down the street.

It's very short
if you look at it

next to the truck
that's parked there.

I'd say maybe 2 1/2,
3 feet tall at best.

If you look closely...

The limbs do not
look like a child,

and the movement itself
doesn't look human.

The way in which
it was holding

its shoulders and arms --
the way it moved --

everything about it
was inhuman.

The size,
his mannerisms --

even wearing a poncho.

So, what on earth
could this stout, inhuman,

poncho-wearing
creature be?

The man who witnessed it

could only think
of one thing.

El Duende is
an elf-like entity --

a creature,
if you will --

of Central American,
South American,

and Filipino folklore.

Now, this creature is said
to be about three feet tall.

It looks like a weathered
or haggard old man.

A beard, pointy hat.

Big feet, big hands,

big eyes, big nose,

but, like, small bodies.

Very troll-like,
and they walk very peculiar

because they have
strange, flat feet

that seem to be backward.

We see stories of Duendes
leading people astray,

leading children
into the woods.

It's been reported that
men would go missing

while they're working either
in farms or fields,

only to be returned
in a zombie-like state

with no memory of who they are
or where they came from.

These are not just
stories in a lot of cultures.

I've actually had
a lot of family members

who have had encounters
with Duende,

so it's very real to us.

But if they are real

and this is one of them,

why would it allow itself to be
captured so completely on video?

Perhaps they have to
change, too.

Perhaps they have to
evolve with us

and with the advent
of technology

and cameras
being everywhere.

Perhaps this is the time
where they choose to be seen --

where they say, "Okay...

we're gonna allow ourselves
to be photographed

so that we can reintroduce
our purpose to mankind."

The point of folklore
is to teach lessons,

and the story of the El Duende
is to keep children in line.

It's a child-snatcher.

Is this just a story
told to children at night,

or is it derived
from something very real?

Well,
according to this video...

it's both.

For now, the only recourse
is to keep your eyes open

and take any potential sighting
very seriously.

with something that

Anthony Brienza
and two friends

are walking through
an abandoned mental institution,

exploring the space,

when they hear a loud
grinding noise

coming from
the building's attic.

Tracking the sound,

they finally
come upon this.

A massive piece
of machinery

whose wheel or handle
is moving at a rapid pace

completely by itself.

Anthony is
freaked out, but intrigued,

so he moves closer,

trying to make sense
of what he's seeing.

And when he gets
to the back of the device...

Nothing.

No motor or visible means
of making the wheel turn.

How can this be?

My name is Anthony Brienza,
and I filmed the video.

I think I was generally
maybe a little bit scared --

mostly unsettled --

and I think even
my voice in the video --

I'm kind of going through
a checklist.

I'm like, "All right,
there's no strings."

There's no one around us.
There's no power.

I think trying to, like,
sort of rationalize --

"Okay, what am I
exactly seeing here,

and why is
this thing moving?"

Once we went around back

and we saw that there was really
no reason, mechanically,

for that thing to be
moving at all...

I think it became
a whole lot more real to me.

This is a hunking
piece of metal

that's been rusted over
and just corroding

moving smoothly
on its own.

It's so eerie,

the consistency with which
this wheel is turning.

It's not gently rotating
in the breeze.

It is spinning purposefully
and intentionally...

McNEILL: ...but with
no power source.

There's no electricity
to the building.

There's no wind blowing.

There's no gear
or paddles outside

turning the crank to make
the wheel spin inside.

It is spinning
entirely on its own.

I can only imagine the amount
of energy it would take

to turn this wheel
at such a great speed

for such a long time.

To further confirm

the authenticity
of this activity,

Anthony and his friends
conduct an experiment.

They try to
stop the wheel.

It was maybe right after
I stopped filming

that we tried to stop it,
and it kept going.

It didn't, like,
keep going in a pattern.

It did slow down,
but it never fully stopped,

and it just sort of
started up again.

It was sort of
at the same pace.

it didn't really go
any faster or any slower.

It just kind of built up
to the same speed.

If this were simply
residual movement

from a strong wind that happened
before they arrived,

it would have
stayed stopped.

The fact that
it starts up again

suggests that it is
somehow being powered

from some outside force
that we can't see.

I would attribute this type of mechanical manipulation

to somebody that
used to work there --

someone that knew how to operate
this piece of machinery.

Whatever is
happening here,

one thing is for sure --

this type of activity
is consistent

for a haunted asylum.

In a mental institution
at the turn of the century,

there were a lot
of practices

that, today, we would find
absolutely abhorrent.

Things like
electric shock therapy.

Things like patients being given
lobotomies to calm them down.

McNEILL: Practices that,
nowadays, we look askance at,

but in the past
were very, very common

as a means of treatment.

When we walk into
a place like this --

when you kind of
feel bad vibe.

When people say,
"Oh, my God,

I feel like this place
has a bad energy."

Where there's a reason
that we're feeling that --

and I believe
that reason is,

all that energy is soaked
into the environment --

into the structure itself,
into the land.

As for Anthony...

Okay?

...he had seen enough.

I was like, "Okay,
this is something

that I can't
really explain,

and it's enough
to make me go home.

At that point, I think my
curiosity for the unknown

was pretty much quelled.

I was like,
"All right, I'm good.

I'm out."

captures this
incredible UFO.

Of the thousands of
UFO sightings every year,

most are probably just
a case of mistaken identity.

Maybe it's a
weather balloon...

a Chinese lantern...

or some kind of
light-up drone.

After all,
the human eye --

and even high-definition
cellphone cameras --

can often be deceiving.

But there is one source

that is decidedly
less open to interpretation --

US government
infrared cameras.

So you can be sure that
when one of those captures

something like this...

...there's only one
logical conclusion.

It's a UFO.

April 25th, 2013,

in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico.

At around 9:20 P.M.

at the Rafael Hernández
International Airport,

a United States Customs
and Border Patrol plane

captures this
on its infrared camera.

A low-flying,
incredibly fast-moving object

that seemingly comes
out of nowhere

and is headed straight
for the airport's runways.

The plane's camera operator
zooms in for a closer look...

...and is able to capture the
object in much greater detail

as it flies unencumbered

and without the aid
of any lights,

despite the darkness.

It continues
at a high rate of speed,

moving past the runways
and toward the coast,

where it descends to just above
the ocean's surface

before -- incredibly --
diving in.

Then, seconds later,
it returns to the surface,

this time, seemingly,
with another UFO by its side.

The plane's camera loses sight
of the objects

after a few minutes.

Afterward, upon reviewing
the footage,

no official had a clue

as to what they had
just witnessed.

So, what on earth did that
government plane catch

on its infrared camera
that night?

I'd never seen this video
before, and I am amazed.

Now, this, to me,
is a real flying saucer

in every respect
of the word.

McNEILL: The way that this
object is moving --

going into the water
and coming out of the water --

the way it moves in these
strange, aberrant patterns,

like it's maybe changing shape
or changing form.

It's moving
through our atmosphere

as if there is
no atmosphere.

It's disappearing
and reappearing

like it's submerging in water
and then un-submerged.

It's moving with
incredible speed,

and then,
incredibly still.

Like, it doesn't follow
our laws of physics.

At one point, it almost
seems to skip on the water

like a rock,

but other times,
it seems to submerge

with no disturbance
of the water,

which makes me wonder,

"Is it phasing in and out
of our reality?

Is this an
optical illusion?

Is it the result
of a cloaking device

that is perhaps damaged

and is turning on and off?

At one point,
as it strikes the water,

it seems to break
into two parts.

So I'm wondering,

"Is this the normal operation
of this vehicle,

or is it in trouble?

Is it in danger?"

Impossible to say,

but its relationship
with the water

is especially noteworthy.

In addition to UFOs,

there's the phenomenon
known as USOs --

Unidentified
Submerged Objects.

And this one, ironically,
goes from UFO to USO to UFO,

then back to USO,
and then disappears.

So there could be all kinds
of explanations going on here.

It's possible that aliens
have been on this earth

for thousands of years.

It's possible that maybe
they actually stay

underneath the oceans
so they can't be seen.

McNEILL: To watch an
unidentified flying object

become an unidentified
submerged object

is really exciting.

To be able to say, "Is that
where it's coming from?

Is that where
it's being made?

Is that where
it's being worked on?

Is that how it's gone, perhaps,
unnoticed for so long,

is that it has the secret place
to go back to

when whatever tests
are being run are finished?"

I think that's maybe one of
the most intriguing parts

of this video.

But perhaps
the most intriguing part

is where this
video comes from --

a government-operated
infrared camera.

McNEILL: When we get
hints like this --

when we get these
little clips

of obviously official
documentation of something

that is apparently
officially agreed upon

to be unidentified --

it starts to make us wonder,
"What's happening here?

What is our government
or our military working on

that we don't know about?"

Or, "What discoveries
have they made

about objects from
other points of origin

that we're not hearing about
or learning about?"

And this isn't
the only recent piece

of government-sourced
UFO footage that we've seen.

This one is from 2015
off the coast of Florida.

20 knots to the west.

And this one
from the same year,

further up
the eastern seaboard.

A part of me
thinks that maybe

they are releasing a very
select handful of videos

sort of just to lull us

into some false sense
of comfort --

thinking, like,
"Oh, wow.

They're showing these

formerly-classified
videos to us.

They're being honest
with us."

But, really, what if it's
just to distract us

from all of the other things

that they do have
and are not showing us?

Shooting, shooting.

Some people think
that this footage

is part of a trickle
towards disclosure,

but I almost wonder
if that trickle

will suddenly be
shut off,

and the government decides,
"They've seen enough."

You just know that
they're sitting on more...

...and I need it.

For now,
the videos we already do have

are more than enough
fuel for the fire.

haunted local hotel

where at least one
of the rooms

is alleged to have

Here I am
back in my hotel room.

My name is Celina Myers,

and I'm the one
who filmed this video.

I just knew that the hotel
was off the beaten path,

and when I reached out
in Facebook groups

about the town,
people who had worked there

were the ones that told
me the little stories.

When I called,
I was like,

"Can I have
the most haunted room?

I heard it's this room.
Is it true?"

She's like, "Yes,"
and I'm like, "Okay.

I'd love to stay there
all alone."

The story that I was told
was actually that

a prostitute was murdered
in that room

in the early 1900s.

Celina waits
until the witching hour

to begin her
investigation...

Can you see?

It is 3:16 A.M.,

and I'm ready to do this.

Okay.

...and pulls out
an old-school method of contact.

I've always really loved
dowsing rods

'cause I liked the literal
physical holding of it.

When there's, like,
a Spirit Box and stuff,

yes, spirit can
manipulate sounds.

It can manipulate
radio waves.

But when you're
holding something

and it's against you
and you are not moving,

it just feels so much more real
and more connected.

The original purpose
of dowsing rods

was to find
sources of water.

The idea is that
you hold them,

and then,
the rods will cross

when you are over an area
that has water.

But now, people use it
on investigations,

and so, when
the rods will cross,

people take that
as a yes.

And then, if they spread out,
it's a no.

And it doesn't take long

for Celina to get both
yes and no answers

from whatever is in
the room with her.

Are you a child?

Are there any other spirits
here with you?

Yes.

Have you been here
for a really long time?

No.

I'm gonna reset the rods.

I should do that.

One of the things
I thought was coolest

about her use
of dowsing rods

is that she put them
in pipes in her hands,

and one of the things
that that does

is it prevents unconscious

or unintentional manipulation
of the rods

by your own skin contact.

And the fact that she is getting
such dramatic responses

from the dowsing rods,

even with them in pipes,
I thought, was really telling.

But the most dramatic
response is yet to come.

Are there bad spirits
in the inn?

That's a hardyes.

If there was anything
in that room with her,

my guess is that maybe
it was something intelligent

that was intentionally
trying to mess with her

because it knew that
that's what she wanted.

That's a hardyes.

When I ask
a question like that

and then something
like that happens...

It was so real to me.

Like, it felt so real,

and I just remember
days after that,

I had nightmares
about the dowsing rods.

I felt sick for days after.

I couldn't stop
thinking about them.

Celina is now
both terrified and exhausted

by what's been happening,

and decides to try
to get some sleep.

Usually, I don't
get this kind of

really scared feeling, but --

Like, you know when you just
have that feeling,

and you just know
something's up and wrong

and making you
want to barf?

There was absolutely no way

that I was sleeping
with the lights off

after the dowsing rods,

so I had set up, and I put
everything on the bed.

My bags were kind of packed,
'cause I was like,

I'm gonna get up early
and I'm gonna go home.

I'm just too tired
to leave right now."

But whatever is
in that room

isn't finished with Celina.

Watch the suitcase
on the side of her bed...

...as it seems
to be lifted up

by some unseen force...

before, finally...

Celina immediately
wakes up.

You can kind of see that
there is a slight draft

from a air conditioner

that's blowing the dust ruffle
on on the bottom of the bed,

but that doesn't seem
to be enough of a force

to sort of make this suitcase
move around on the bed.

She seems to be
completely still,

so it doesn't seem like her legs
are kicking it or anything.

But it moves around
for a pretty good amount of time

before eventually
falling off the bed.

And I was just like,
"Okay, you were, like,

this far away
from my body."

Celina is freaked out.

She packs up her things
and leaves right away.

I hate to do this, but I'm
super bailing.

I go into it, and I'm like,
"Yeah, I'm gonna stay all night.

It's gonna be great."

When you're sitting alone
in a hotel room

in the earliest
morning hours,

you're like,
"Okay, I am alone.

What if the things that happened
in the movie are real...

...and I'm
about to get, you know,

yeeted down the hallway
or something?"

Whatever we're seeing
is like 1/10th

of what that person is actually
experiencing in that place,

and if their gut says,
"Get out,"

that's the right
thing to do.

That's a hardyes.

In Scotland,
there's a grocery store

that is home
to a woman named Stacy.

She spends her days
and nights

wandering aimlessly
through the aisles

and has never, ever --
as far as anyone can tell --

left the building.

who know her best,

Stacy has an unflappable
reputation for causing mischief.

Oh, one other thing
about Stacy...

...she's a ghost...

...and this is the kind of
prank she pulls.

employee Elise Mullen
is restocking some items...

a little more closely.

The crate moves...

...seemingly by itself.

One more time
in super slow motion.

See that?

But, surprisingly,

Elise isn't too disturbed
by what just happened.

In fact, she
half expected it...

because this grocery store
is haunted

by a mischievous ghost
named Stacy.

McNEILL: This is one of
those instances

where we want to give
full credit to the people

who live and work every day
in that particular place.

They know what happens
on their premises --

within their property --

and if they say,
"Hey, we've got a ghost.

Her name is Stacy.

"She does things like this
all the time."

They're probably right.

I really love this clip.

If you watch the crate,
it moves on its own.

She doesn't kick it.

It doesn't slide.
It moved.

Somebody or something
pushes that crate.

It seems like a real troll.

I love it.

Seems like a ghost
that I would be friends with.

I mean, it's not nice to
hurt people, if she is hurt.

I'm sure she's okay.

But I love a prank.

I love a little prank.

100% of the time,
I'm always like,

"No, I do not fear energies.

I don't fear spirits."

But there is one instance

where spirits can be
incredibly dangerous...

...and that is in the event

that these energies know
how to move objects.

Stacy is
such a regular presence

that most of the staff
just treat her

like another coworker --

albeit one that causes
a lot of trouble.

Many times,
in hauntings of places,

there is a certain
familiarity

that people come to
with the spirit

that might be haunting a place,
whether it be a house or a bar

or, in this case,
a grocery store.

But who was Stacy
in the real world

long before she haunted
the frozen section?

And why such
a troublemaker?

You hear this
kind of thing a lot

with the little
grocery stores

and markets --
that kind of thing --

where people have worked
for 50, 60 years,

and then suddenly pass away,

They still seem to
come to work every day.

It's actually
really common for spirits

to kind of be
a little bit bitter.

I mean, they are
still here

because they have
unresolved issues.

So, you know, it wouldn't
really be a surprise

that somebody who had issues
when they were alive

might still carry those issues
with them in death.

So, if you're ever
in Irvine, Scotland,

and need to make a run
to the grocery store,

one word of advice...

Maybe just
steer clear of Stacy,

because she seems to have
a lot of attitude.
