A spirit in Canada trashes
a room.

My chair, my paintings,
my keyboard.

Okay, no.

My stuff was everywhere.

I was definitely scared.

A freakish cryptid
is spotted in Indonesia.

McNEILL: This creature
was really good and creepy.

Super, super scary.

Fireballs light up
the sky in California.

What is that thing?

It kind of put a fear into me
of what's to come.

A ghost capture
that will blow your mind.

I'm getting goose bumps
thinking about it now.

It still freaks me out.

And even more
paranormal footage

you have to see...

...to believe.

Before there were cellphones

that could capture
high-definition video,

there were clunky cameras
and videotapes.

And although the quality of
the footage on those VHS tapes

doesn't quite hold up
to today's digital standards,

they did share
one remarkable trait --

the ability to capture ghosts.

Case in point,
nearly 30 years ago,

a young man in England
filmed something on VHS

that's considered to be
one of the most authentic

ghost captures to date.

1992 --
West Yorkshire, England.

After a series
of strange events,

like the sound of footsteps
throughout the house,

doors closing on their own,

and the feeling
of being pulled out of bed

in the middle of the night,

15-year-old Adam Mawson
was convinced

that his home was haunted.

So he set up his father's
video camera on a tripod

in various rooms in the house,

pressed record, and left.

He repeated this over the course
of a few months,

recording several VHS tapes'
worth of footage in the process.

Then he sat down to watch them.

Now, 28 years later,

Adam takes us through
his incredible footage.

My name is Adam,
and this is my video.

I was intrigued. I wanted
to know what it was.

You are at that age -- you want
to figure out what is going on.

We had about seven tapes
from different rooms and...

It didn't take long
to see that he had captured

some startling activity.

First, listen carefully...

...as the sound
of loud footsteps can be heard.

We got the running up
and down the stairs,

which was really freaky.
That creeped us out.

But those sounds
pale in comparison

to what was captured on a camera
that was set up in the hallway

just outside
of his bedroom door.

Watch closely,

as a shadowy figure seems
to materialize

in front of a wicker chair.

It moves in
and out of the frame...

...then finally exits
through a wall on the left.

Moments later,
another figure enters,

remains for a few seconds,

and then exits the same way.

Adam was beside himself.

I'm getting goose bumps
thinking about it now.

It still freaks me out.

...watching this.

I wouldn't leave the room
until somebody came home,

'cause I was just totally
freaked out by what I'd seen.

So when my parents came home,

I showed them the footage,
and my mom says,

"Oh, yeah,
I've seen that before."

I'm like, "You've seen this?"

And she says --
I remember it to this day.

She says, "If you leave them
alone, they'll leave you alone."

And I'm like,
"You have got to be joking."

I could not believe
she said that.

Adam's mother said
she kept it to herself

because she didn't
want him to be afraid.

A wise choice.

This is as close
to an authentic ghost video

as I think you can really get.

this video has stood up
to a lot of scrutiny

over the years since 1992,

and I haven't seen anybody
who's been able

to really debunk this video.

I think this is the real deal.

McNEILL: This is a really
solid apparition.

The fact that we get
almost a full body shape,

that we can see clear movement.

We can distinguish the head
from the shoulders

from the body.
We can see movement of walking.

We can see movement
of sitting and standing up.

It almost reminded me of
something from a horror movie.

It was that clear
and that solid,

but still really believable.

Freaked out
and wanting to know

who was haunting his home,

Adam did some research

on the history
of the street he lived on.

There was a mill built
whereabout the two houses

at the top of the road,
and there was a fire

in the mill
and it was burnt down.

I think there were
a couple of fatal--

I heard there was
a couple of fatalities.

If indeed this house was built
on an old cemetery,

it is the classic "Poltergeist"
the movie problem.

You only moved the headstones,
but you didn't move the bodies.

And across the cultural board,

desecrating gravesites
stirs up a lot of bad juju.

This was a cemetery
before anyone built on that,

and after that,
it was a mill,

and now we have this particular
family's home,

and we have this entity
manifesting in it --

It's hard to not read
all of those different

layers of history of
that location contributing

to what it is
that we're experiencing.

Whoever was
haunting the house

remains a mystery.

And while Adam
no longer lives there,

his father still does,

and seems to have inadvertently
scared off any ghosts.

Me dad converted
to Jehovah's Witnesses

back in 1997.

And within,
I'd say it was about 12 months,

it just stopped happening.

We weren't really
religious people.

We didn't go to church,
that kind of thing.

And he brought religion in
and it kind of just disappeared.

Regardless, the time
he spent living there

left a lasting impression.

Do you know,
I never believed in ghosts

before we moved into the house.

Having that experience,

it's kind of...

emerges in Indonesia.

Being a wildlife expert

can be a dangerous job.

You may find yourself
in precarious situations

when searching
for certain species

in the wilderness.

After all,
you are on their turf.

And if you do come face-to-face
with something bigger than you,

you generally have only your
wits and expertise to draw upon.

But what if the creature
you come across...

is unlike anything you
or anyone else has ever seen?

That's what happened
to one group of men in Indonesia

when they found
themselves pursuing,

and perhaps being pursued by...

...this.

December 2019 --
Indonesia.

It's late at night,
and Panji Petualang,

who is considered to be
the Steve Irwin of Indonesia,

is with his crew hunting for
frogs to feed his pet snakes.

Along the way,

they come across all kinds
of indigenous wildlife...

...like a baby cobra...

...and an owl.

Then, about a minute later,

Panji suddenly spots
something unfamiliar

in the distance.

The crew gives chase.

But whatever it is
gets away.

Panji is totally baffled
by what he thinks he saw.

So they play back the footage
to get a better look.

At first,
they don't see anything.

But then...

they rewind
a bit further back...

...to just before Panji spotted
whatever that thing was.

Watch closely,
in slow motion.

An alien-like creature
scurries away

from Panji's headlamp light.

Watch again.

The crew is stunned.

Going home
sounds like a great idea.

But just as they're
about to leave,

you-know-who
makes another appearance.

Here it is one more time
in case you missed it.

Once again, the men
are unable to catch up to it.

And let's face it --

that's probably for the best.

Feeling outmatched, Panji
and his crew call it a night.

I can't be certain
of what it is

that we're seeing in this video,

but I'm almost positive
that it's not human.

McNEILL: This creature
was really good and creepy.

One, it was sort of white,
pale colored,

a light gray, maybe.

If I had to pick something that
this looked like, bizarrely,

I would probably say
it looks like the Rake.

That image of this long-limbed,
disproportionate,

terrifying, white creature
running through the dark,

and it looks vaguely humanoid.

Super, super scary.

That's the Rake.

The Rake is a much more
malevolent type being,

one that seeks out individuals
to harm them.

This one seems much more subdued
and very terrified

to be stumbling
across human beings.

It ran like a bat out of Hell.

So I think this is some sort
of interdimensional being,

another type
of humanoid creature

that is not of this Earth
or plane.

What's very unusual
about the second clip

is that when we first see it,

it's crouched down

as if it's a quadruped.

Then when it stands up and runs,
it's definitely bipedal.

You don't see that too often,
where something can so easily

go from four legs to two.

Whatever this sort of
amphibious-looking creature is,

it seems to move through
this underbrush

as if it is its natural habitat.

And if Indonesia is
its natural habitat,

that could explain a lot.

Although it only has just 1%
of the world's land area,

Indonesia is a smorgasbord
of biodiversity.

There are new discoveries
occurring there all the time,

and so much of this
island nation

remains shrouded in mystery.

I think we often forget
that so much of this world

is still unexplored
and undocumented.

So it wouldn't be a surprise

for people in areas like these
to discover

something that
we've never seen before.

This guy is out there
looking for frogs.

And instead, he finds
a bipedal lizard cryptid.

Who could ask
for anything more, honestly?

Panji and his crew
have yet to find out

what it was
they saw that night.

In the meantime,
their incredible video

has racked up more than
5.5 million views online.

A catch like this is amazing

because it keeps
the conversation going.

It keeps our imaginations
involved.

There's something else
out there.

There's something more
than just our average,

ordinary, everyday lives.

There's still wonder
in the world,

and that maybe this creature

is evidence of something new
that we've yet to meet.

people who have had
a near-death experience

and those who are close
to the end of their lives

have reported
encountering angels

or loved ones
who've already passed on.

These visitors can take

and are believed to help

to the next phase.

Amazingly, a woman in California

may have captured proof
of this phenomenon

when just weeks
before a loved one passed away,

she saw these dancing lights
outside her window.

It's July 2019,

in Fontana, California.

Wendy Ramos
is getting ready for bed.

Her terminally ill mother
is staying in the room with her.

Before turning in, Wendy checks
her outdoor security camera

to make sure all is well.

But what she sees on the screen
defies all logic.

There are two ethereal forms
dancing around her front yard.

Wendy is stunned.

and this is my video.

I just happened
to look at my cameras

and I just caught these little
light things dancing around.

And I was like, okay,
am I seeing the right thing?

What's going on?
So I look outside,

and then I'm looking
at my phone,

and then I'm looking outside,
then I'm looking at my phone,

and they're just dancing around.

But I can't see them
with the naked eye,

but I can see them on my phone.

For the next three hours,

Wendy is baffled by the two
mysterious light anomalies

popping in and out of view.

I thought I was losing my mind
for a second.

I couldn't sleep
the whole night.

I was just, like,
hooked to my phone.

I do think it was something
totally paranormal for sure.

These were really compelling...

I don't even know
what noun to use --

creatures, beings, entities?

Because at times,
they looked almost like rods,

just a line of of lighted dots
connected vertically.

And then at other times,
there was obvious

evidence of movement,

of what appeared to be
steps being taken,

of something walking along
or in a circle.

Initially, I thought that maybe
these lights were just insects,

which is typically
what they tend to be.

But the way that their flight
path is, you know,

didn't really feel like
that was the case.

The lights are moving more like
a human would move.

What's really
interesting, I think,

is that this woman
who was watching it

said that she could see it
on the motion detector camera

and she could see it
on her phone even,

but she couldn't see it
with her naked eye.

It's very common
in paranormal activity

to not actually see it
with your eye,

but to then catch it on camera.

And that's because
spirit interacts

with radio frequencies,

interacts with
camera frequencies and light

in a different way
than it can interact with you

on the physical realm.

Wendy has a theory
as to why those light anomalies

appeared that night,

because just three weeks after
she captured them on camera,

her mom passed away.

I was thinking maybe it was
my mom making connections

to the other side.

You know, them trying to bridge
that connection with her

and build those relationships.

Maybe it was her mom,
my grandma.

Maybe it was her brother
had passed.

In many belief systems
all over the world,

there's this thought that as you
come to the end of your life,

you almost have one foot
in this world

and one foot in the next,
to the point

where you start seeing
deceased loved ones,

other spirits who have come
to bring you to the other side.

And sometimes
when you're really close,

even people around you
can perceive those entities.

And it can be a scary feeling

or it can be
a comforting thought

that we don't stop,

we don't die
and become nothing --

there is a next step,
an afterlife.

Wendy couldn't agree more.

It really does bring me comfort

'cause I do feel that my grandma
was waiting for her

and she's in a better place,
so I feel good about it.

It's been something that has
made me realize,

like, you know,
maybe there is more out there.

Who knows, maybe after we die,
something stays around.

I don't know.

You know, and I'm okay
with not knowing.

One day we'll find out,
I guess,

you know,
when we're no longer here.

So, I saw this thing
that a lot of people

were doing on TikTok
called Randonauting.

So I downloaded the app

and I thought
I'd try it out for myself.

And it's generated
a location nearby

that he's about to go explore.

It gave me a spot
in the middle of the woods

that's kind of close
to my house,

but it looks like it's along
the ATV trail, so...

...and let's go see
where it takes us.

Alright, so we're at
the location, and this is...

this is weird.

There's a car just chilling
in the woods.

How did they even
get in here, though?

Like, there's trees everywhere.

There's no way
a car could get in here.

Matt looks around for a bit.

Then...

...a noise in the distance.

Holy

Did you catch that?

Listen again, carefully.

Holy

A disembodied voice

seems to call for help.

My name is Matt Hall,
and this is my video.

In the moment,
I was just scared

that I heard a voice,
and I knew

it wasn't, like,
an animal noise or anything.

Holy

I didn't know what it said.

So, first off,
I was terrified.

I just ran back to the ATV

and started to go back home
as fast as I could.

...I played it
a couple of times.

Holy

That says, "Help me."
And my heart sank.

Holy

Matt is disturbed
by what he hears on the video

and is glad to be home.

But later that night,

his curiosity
gets the better of him

and he goes back to that same
spot to investigate further.

Alright, I don't know
if this means anything,

but there's a shirt here,

a water bottle
with water in the bottle,

these, like, children's toys,
like, all broken.

Alright. That's creepy.

This is a middle of the woods.
There should be nothing here.

I'm so confused.

Then...

Is there anybody here?

Guys, I think
I just heard something.

Listen again
as a voice asks,

"Wanna play a game?"

Again, I didn't know
what it said at the time.

I just heard another voice.

And then I looked over
and there was nothing there.

That's what I just said, "Okay,
I'm gonna just go home now.

Like, that's enough."

I'm starting to get
creeped out here,

so, yeah, I'm not coming
back here anymore.

When he gets home,

Matt listens closely
as he plays back the footage.

Is there anybody here?

I just watched that back
and I realized

that it asked me
to play a game.

Matt's totally freaked out,

but again, feels safe
being at home.

Then, a few nights later...

And I just
got woken up

by the loudest, like,
crashing noise in my other room.

Dude, what?

What the

My chair, my paintings,
my keyboard.

What?

My stuff was everywhere.

Like, there was stuff
crashed all around my room.

So yeah, I was definitely
scared.

What the -- my keyboard.

What?

Okay, no.

And the activity
continued.

I swear to God,

I just saw someone
sitting in this chair

and now it's rocking
a little bit.

Hello? Is anybody here?

Could it be that
whatever was in the woods...

What do you want?

...followed him home?

The kind of manifestations
that he's experiencing at home

are pretty typical,

sort of poltergeist-like
random energy.

He's not getting
a really clear-cut,

singular message out of it.

It's more like
there's something there saying,

"Hey, FYI, here I am."

And if that started after
this really creepy experience

of finding the car,
hearing the voice...

...I think it makes sense
to connect those two things.

I think what we are witnessing
is an attachment.

It would seem to me
that this young man encountered

something in the woods
and brought it home with him.

I'm pretty sure my house
is 100% haunted.

So, is it possible
that the app led Matt

to a haunted location
in the woods?

It's been leading people to
some pretty strange locations.

In Seattle, for instance,
a group of teenagers were given

a latitude and longitude
randomly by Randonaut

where they discovered
the body of two human beings

severed and stuffed
in a black suitcase.

And it's so strange that it's
been generated by random numbers

because, like, no one's
responsible for pinpointing

where bodies have been found.

Which then
begs the question,

could there be
another factor at play?

Okay, no.

Maybe energies and spirits

are starting to hack
Randonaut's system

to lead people to places
to solve their crimes

that have been committed,
to find answers.

Whatever the cause,

the experience has definitely
changed Matt's perspective.

I was a skeptic
before all this stuff

started happening.

I mean, I've seen
the horror shows.

I'm just like,
it's for entertainment.

And then once this happened
to me personally, I was like,

okay, maybe some of these things
are true that people experience.

A fire-dripping UFO
hovers over California.

What is that thing?

Throughout history,

empires have sought
to increase their power

by aggressively expanding
their borders,

often at the expense of smaller,
less powerful societies.

But as an empire grows,
there's always the threat

that someone even bigger
is planning their own takeover,

be it another country

or perhaps...

another species...

from another world.

Which is what may
have been happening

when one California man
saw these balls of light...

Whoa.

...dropping to the Earth.

What is that thing?

It's May 2020,

in Fontana, California.

Jason Guerrero is in his garage,
about to take the trash out

when he notices
a bright light outside.

He assumes that it's a car
pulling into his driveway,

so he steps outside
to check it out...

and sees this.

It was really bright.
I was seeing the thing.

The sky got really bright
right now.

It's a shining ball
of light hovering in the sky...

What is that?

...that suddenly
starts to drop what appear to be

small fireballs
toward the Earth.

What is that thing?

My name is Jason,
and this is my video.

The sky lit up so bright white.

So I ran out there
and looked in the sky

and it was that I could see
that thing flying,

descending down like that,
dropping that fire.

And I was like, "Wow."

They looked like little
raindrop fireballs.

It almost looked like
when you leave the water on

and not shut it all the way off

and the faucet just drips like
that, then all of a sudden

it might drip faster or slower.

It looked kind of like that,
but they were smaller,

but they still had
to be big themselves.

What could be on fire
in the sky like that

and burn for so long without
sort of incinerating itself?

I mean, we've all seen
sky lanterns,

and they don't flare up
like this.

It's just sort of a dim,
gentle glow

that glides off into the ether.

But this thing seems to really
have a combustibility to it.

It almost appears like magma,

lava coming out
of whatever it is,

and so high in the air.

It's confusing to think that,
okay, is this a craft?

Should it be leaking that way?

Does this mean it's damaged?
Is it about to fall to Earth?

Or is this a technology
that we're unfamiliar with,

something organic in nature?

What is that thing?

Those fireballs dropped down
from quite a ways.

You know, look, maybe 500 feet
or 500 yards or something

and then it turned off
or whatever it did,

disappeared or wherever it went.
Who knows what?

Probably ships or something
that's dropping out of there.

If Jason's right

and he was seeing ships
dropping down,

could it be
that the largest light

was actually a mother ship?

Whoa.

If indeed what we are
witnessing is a mother ship,

then that would suggest
strategy, coordination,

and even intelligence.

That's a lot scarier,
if you think about it.

The idea of, like,
you know, four aliens,

four, like, long grays
on a ship together

poking around the galaxy
is almost a little fun.

But once you start introducing
the idea of fleets,

then it becomes
a little bit more militant.

While it's not clear
exactly what he saw that night

or what its purpose was,

Jason has a theory.

And if true,

it requires us to be
on our best behavior.

...then I think that
they're probably trying

to see what's going on.

They're trying to monitor
the situation.

You know, I'm sure they know
that chaos is being created.

It kind of put a fear into me
of what's to come.

What is that thing?

Is this young man proof...

...that vampires exist?

Vampires --

terrifying creatures
of the night

that have fascinated
and frightened people

for millennia.

They are most often portrayed

as fictional
bloodsucking monsters,

in legends, horror stories,
and popular films.

But is it possible that these
mysterious, bloodthirsty beings

could also have
some basis in reality?

Footage of a teenager in Africa
has recently come to light

that has led some to believe
that it's not only possible --

it is, in fact,
very, very real.

It's 2014,

in Cazenga, Angola.

At first glance,

15-year-old Manuel Joao
seems like an ordinary teenager.

But according to reports,
his grandfather was a wizard,

and the boy inherited a trait
that some consider a curse.

Watch and listen closely.

First, you can hear
an almost wolflike growl.

And then...

...Manuel seems to grow
vampire-like fangs.

Watch again from another angle.

First, no fangs.

And then...

...fangs.

I have never seen anything
like this before,

and I doubt I will ever see
anything like it again.

The muscles
in his shoulder and his back

sort of tense up and contort.

He bends over,
and then as he comes up,

you see these fangs appear and
his eyes roll back in his head

and there's this sort of low,
guttural growl that he makes.

I have no idea
what's going on here.

My gut reaction is to go,
"Oh, that's fake."

It's just the sheer
amount of evidence

that support
this organic happening

that makes me doubt myself.

You can see the physical pain
in his body.

You can see him almost, like,
cough up this thing.

And the pain on his face
and the exhaustion

on his face afterwards
is very real.

It's been said
that every time

Manuel summons his fangs,

it's so taxing on him
that he's left exhausted

and even gets headaches
from the ordeal.

McNEILL: The transformation
does not appear to be

a comfortable process,
and that makes sense.

Any sort of physical
transformation

that comes to us from the realms
of folklore and legend

is never understood
to be a pleasant one.

So if we think about people
transforming into werewolves,

the reshaping of the body
that takes place

while the person is conscious,

we get a little taste
of that here.

This does not seem comfortable
for this young man.

It looks like
whatever is possessing this kid

is just draining him
of his lifeblood,

so to speak, you know,
in vampire terms.

Manuel's fangs
have never harmed

another human being,

and he does just fine
in the daylight.

So, could he really be
a vampire?

McNEILL: Vampire lore
is fairly complex,

and it comes to us
both from folklore

and also from literature.

But one of the most consistent
understandings of vampires

that we have

is that they can't be out
during the day,

that these are creatures
that arise, that are active,

that are out there causing havoc
only at night.

So to have a vampire

with fangs designed
for the feeding on blood,

be active and awake
and out there in the daylight,

gives us this special subset
of vampire known as a daywalker.

The concept of a daywalker is actually pretty common,

mostly because
these vampiric entities

are normal human beings
during the day,

and then at night,
they're able to transform

into something else.

Whether a vampire,
daywalker,

or just a young man
who can grow fangs on a whim,

one thing's for certain --

his friends are
highly entertained

by the transformation.

McNEILL: I'm gonna be honest
and say that if I had a friend

who could manifest
vampire fangs on command

and then not immediately
turn around and kill me,

I would probably ask
that person to do it a lot.

What should you do
in the event

you witness
something paranormal?
