Old mobster hangouts
are notoriously haunted.

The Bracken Fern Manor
in California is no exception.

It was built by Bugsy Siegel
in the 1920s

as a private resort
for his cohorts

and Hollywood elite to engage in
seedy activities like gambling,

prostitution, and illegal
imbibing during prohibition.

Since then, a number
of apparitions have been seen

haunting its grounds.
From a former caretaker

who was rumored to have been
thrown to his death

from a third-story window
to a madam of the night

who was murdered or died
by suicide,

and even a young boy

who was allegedly trampled
to death by horses.

Today, the manor
can be rented out

and is popular among
paranormal enthusiasts.

But for one team
of ghost hunters,

a visit to the old gangster
hangout

proves to be more
than they can handle.

Lake Arrowhead, California.

This place is really creepy.

Kelsi Davies and a few of her friends

are investigating
the Bracken Fern Manor.

- It does smell weird up here.
- It smells like an old church.

Laden with debauchery and crime,

it's no surprise this inn
is considered to be

one of the most
haunted locations in California.

And it doesn't take long
for Kelsi to sense

that negative energy lingering
about.

I thought I just saw
a shadow in the hallway.

This place is just
really creepy.

I don't know,
I get the weirdest vibe.

It's so creepy up here.

this is creepy.

As soon as we walked into
the Bracken Fern Manor,

I felt this energy
like I wanted to leave.

I felt like
I was not welcome there.

The energy just felt so sad.

It was just such a crazy
feeling in there.

Holy crap, you guys, why is
there no light?

We just felt angry,

it's as if the spirits were
making us feel what they felt.

Sometimes when you're
on an investigation,

the scariest thing
that will happen to you

is not something
that you can see on camera.

It's the feeling of dread
that overcomes you.

You are going to experience whatever the spirit

surrounding you
is experiencing,

it's normal to feel agitated,
to feel annoyed, to feel angry

even because your insides
are being manipulated.

You're being toyed with.
You're being played with.

I just heard
something over there.

It's like ticking
on the clock.

Despite her discomfort, Kelsi forges ahead

with the investigation...

...and tries to communicate with any spirits

that may be in the house
by using an app

that picks up electronic
voice phenomena or EVPs...

...and almost immediately...

- Did you hear that downstairs?
- Be scared?

Did anyone just hear that?

I heard like a kid downstairs.

...something says,
"Be scared" and "I need help."

Could this be one of
the tormented spirits

who still walk these halls?

Hearing an EVP of somebody
asking for your help

is both terrifying and sad

because you know that
you are too late to help them.

Even more terrifying
is what she hears next...

- Dude, that gave me chills.
- The device that they're using

is sort of a classic spirit
box-type application where

it's providing
just sort of raw audio...

If there's any spirits here,

- can you say your name?
- ...with the intention

that any entities or spirits
or manifestations

that are in that area
can use that audio

and piece it together
to communicate

with the investigators
who are there.

And so, hearing something
so specifically directed

at one of the people,

is really significant.

I would take that
pretty seriously.

It said my name
and it's telling me to get out,

and I'm already feeling
like I need to get out.

So that just clarified it
all right there.

Feeling way too unsafe to continue,

Kelsi and the team decide
to quit

while they still can
and head for the exit.

But then something
catches Kelsi's attention.

Holy

We were about to leave,
and this door just slams shut.

And that just did it for us.

We were like,
"We need to leave.

Something here does not want us
here and it is moving things.

And it could potentially hurt
one of us."

Oh, my freaking God.

One of the most common
displays of spirit activity

is the slamming door.

It's not always aggressive.
Sometimes it's just a manner

of letting us
know that they are here.

But sometimes it is a statement,
an exclamation point,

if you will, a boom.

Now I've got your attention.

Holy crap.

Typically, when you see
something like a door closing

without a known force,
its unsettling.

But when you see it slam
the way it did in this video,

that tells me that maybe
this spirit means business.

They want these people
out of here.

They don't want to be bothered.

That's the message
I got from it.

Right when we got out
of the house at the end,

we felt like
this release of pressure.

Like I felt less angry.
I felt less aggravated.

Yeah, we're leaving.

Like many others
who have braved Bugsy's

old stomping grounds,

it's an experience
that Kelsi will never forget.

Overall, this was definitely
a mind boggling experience.

There were a lot of things
that happened

that I cannot explain other than
it's something paranormal.

Definitely something that
you would just never know

until you experience it.

that this is a UFO.

Every so often you'll look into the sky

and see a plane
doing something eye catching

such as making contrails,
pulling some kind of banner,

or if you're lucky, skywriting.

Normally, you wouldn't think
twice about it

and go on with your day.

But what if you saw
one of these things in the sky

and then realized there was
no plane to explain it?

That's what happened
to one man in Arizona.

What is this right here?

And to him,
it was clear evidence

of an unidentified
flying object.

I don't see any plane
in front of that.

I don't know what that is, guys.

December 1, 2019,

near South Mountain
in Phoenix, Arizona...

Justin Stiles and his daughter
are driving down the highway

when something peculiar
in the sky

catches their attention,
so much so that Justin

feels compelled
to pull over and film it.

Here we go, guys.
What is this right here?

I don't have a clue
what that is.

It's definitely not a plane.

It's definitely square
or a rectangle in nature to me.

My name is Justin
and this is my video.

My first thought of it
was that it was a banner in tow.

We see banners in tow
over Phoenix occasionally,

and it's pretty easy
to either see the plane

or get the size of the banner
and tell that that's what it is.

I don't see any plane
in front of that,

like, pulling
a big advertisement placard.

I zoomed in, I looked for it,

there was no airplane
in front of it.

Much less, you can usually see
the ropes that they pull

the banners with.
This was way, way too big

to be a banner.
I have no clue what that is

except something
moving very slow.

I'm a UFO hunter.
I'm a sky watcher.

I'll say seven
to eight times out of ten,

if you see something in the sky
and you take the time

to look at it,
study it,

look at its pattern of flight,
whatever, you can disprove it.

I could not do that
with this thing in the sky.

It's definitely not a plane.

It's definitely
very square or a rectangle.

My daughter, who is with me,
we are convinced

that this is possibly a UFO.

This video is really
sort of perplexing.

It doesn't have any propulsion
that we can see.

It's not leaving a contrail
or any sound of any kind.

We don't see wings
or propellers.

It looks like a metal sheet flying on its own fairly quickly

without being pulled
by anything.

And if you've ever seen
an advertisement banner

pulled by a small aircraft,

you notice
that it flutters in the wind

and it moves around
in the trajectory of the plane.

But here, you just see
like a square flying,

kind of metallic-looking UFO.

It doesn't seem to have
the shape

of a flying craft at all,

certainly not one that we're
used to seeing here on Earth.

Perhaps it just came
from a different planet

and that's the way
they build them there.

I believe myself that there
absolutely is rectangle, square,

and disc shaped UFOs,
extraterrestrial UFOs,

they don't have wings.

They create their own gravity,

they make their
own gravity force.

Therefore, they take our gravity
out of the equation.

So I think that could have been
something not from here.

Very, very, very, very
interesting, Phoenix, Arizona,

unidentified flying object.

I would love to find out
100% for sure what it is.

I am a firm believer in UFOs.

Until he does find out exactly what he saw that day,

scouring the skies

for more evidence

We are peons in the scheme
of the universe.

different galaxies and whatnot,

so there absolutely is things
that come here from wherever.

That's up for debate, and I can

Urban exploration is not for the faint of heart.

It's usually done by breaking
into old abandoned buildings,

which can be dangerous
for many reasons --

you could get arrested
for trespassing,

the structure could collapse,
or be filled

with hazardous materials
like asbestos.

Or worst of all...

You could get punched
in the face by a poltergeist.

March 2020,
Liverpool, England.

A few urban explorers are here
to check out the Mossley Manor,

an abandoned care home.

In 2015, the facility
was ordered to be shut down

after the Care
Quality Commission

made a surprise inspection

and were horrified
by what they found --

residents left lying
in their own urine

and many weren't bathed
properly for a month,

not to mention no hot water,
broken windows,

and overflowing garbage.
It was boarded up soon after.

Since then, it's been rumored
that the manor is haunted.

Danny Duffy narrates
his impressions

as he makes his way through the
manner with his three friends.

There's something to be said
about nursing homes,

especially older,
shut-down nursing homes.

If you think about the amount
of people that have lived there

and possibly even passed away
within the walls

of this building,
there's no surprise

that there would be some sort
of activity lingering on.

And sure enough, just a few minutes into their quest,

the group seems to experience
some of that activity...

was that?

Andy?

What the
was that?

Where's Andy?
I don't know.

They suspect that an entity is responsible for the noise

and ask it to do something
specific.

They get no response.

But then 30 seconds later...

Whoa!

Based on the activity
that I'm observing,

it certainly seems like whatever
is in this care home

does not want
these people there.

It's almost like
throwing plates

as a way of communicating,
"Get out. Just leave me alone."

And whatever it is that wants to be left alone

is only getting started.

Wow.

The light's moving.

The cameraman says,
"I feel drained,"

after he notices the chandelier,
which is very common.

It takes an incredible amount of
energy to manipulate an object,

especially an object
as big as a chandelier.

So chances are, that
poltergeist, ghost spirit,

what have you is pulling
from his energy

to make that chandelier move.

So it makes a ton of sense
that he would feel drained.

And the more Danny is drained, the more active and powerful

the entity seems to become.

Whoa.
Whoa!

Danny and the team are freaked out and ready to leave.

But the worst is yet to come.

As the team nears the exit,

the poltergeist shows
just how powerful it can be.

- Oh, oh. Oh, no!
- Oh!

Bloody hell.

Danny has been
attacked.

It's not uncommon
for a spirit

to make physical contact

with somebody who's trying
to make contact with it.

A slap in the face
is a clear sign to leave.

I mean, leave.

I wanna get out of here.
Come on.

The team couldn't agree more, they want out now.

They finally make their escape. Safe at last,

but as Danny takes one last shot

of the exterior of the building,
he sees it.

the second-floor window.

I think what this energy was trying to do is to make sure

that these urban explorers
had left the building

because all of those efforts
that they took to show them

that they were not invited.

I think that energy
was just following up

that they've actually
left the premises.

Whatever wanted them
gone can rest assured --

message received
loud and clear.

- Oh, oh. Oh, no.
- Oh!

Coming up, a séance in England turns terrifying.

Séances are not for the timid.

Typically, a person known
as a medium

will go into a trance-like state

and allow spirits
to use their body

as a vehicle to communicate,
but it can be a risky venture

because when you reach out
to the other side

to summon the dead,

there's no telling
who will answer your call.

And as one man in England
found out,

when things go wrong,
they go very, very wrong.

It's August 2010
in York, England.

A group of
paranormal investigators

has gathered to participate
in a séance

at one of the most haunted pubs
in the country.

And given the number of old pubs
considered haunted in the UK,

that's saying a lot.
Built in 1503,

the Golden Fleece Inn
is reputed to have as many

as 15 different spirits
wandering about.

One of which could be a man
named John Peckett.

In the early 18th century,

he owned the inn and was also
the mayor of York,

and that's who the group
will be trying to contact today.

They're in one of the pubs
upstairs guest rooms

already in position.

But they may have gotten more
than they bargained for.

Just a few minutes
into the séance,

a man named Jordan

suddenly seems deeply
affected by something.

And it quickly gets worse.

This is disturbing footage,

and it appears that whatever
is happening to this man

is escalating incredibly
quickly, is very dramatic,

and that he doesn't even have
control over his own faculties.

Could this be the spirit of John Peckett entering his body?

The team seems to think so.

It's a very sort of standard
image what we think of

when somebody is in a trance
or possessed in some way.

But when you see it happening
on film, it's quite chilling.

I mean, we just want
to talk to you, John.

Initially, it seems like
he is contacting a spirit

of a former living human being.

And as they're asking John
certain questions,

they're getting answers.

Are you happy here, John?

But then you start
seeing his body

get more violently shaken
and his demeanor changes

and he gets all sunken in.

And he starts speaking
for an energy

that doesn't necessarily sound
like it was ever human.

Jordan's friends are now coming to the same conclusion

that this may be
some other entity,

and they are treading
very carefully.

They are now certain

that they're speaking to someone
or something other than John,

and it's taken
complete control of Jordan.

It almost seems like
he's being electrocuted,

as if this spirit energy
is incompatible with his body,

and if you notice, not a lot
of them really touch him

or grab him in the moment

because if you touch somebody
and you're not prepared,

it's entirely possible that this
thing can jump to you as well.

Aware that they are now in danger of losing Jordan,

the group desperately tries
to cast out whatever it is

that has ahold of him.

Finally, Jordan is now
apparently free

of whatever this thing is,
but he's wiped out.

I don't know if this was
a demonic entity

or a malevolent spirit

that seems to possess this guy,
but whatever it is,

it seems to be taking
real physical toll on him,

and I think they were right
to break it off.

It seemed to be accelerating
in its intensity.

Jordan seems
to be slowly recovering,

but the group is shell shocked.

If you're going to do anything
that invokes spirit,

that essentially puts you in the
same room as something unseen,

there is the very
distinct possibility

that you are going to get more
than you bargained for.

So as the old saying goes,
"If you can't stand the heat,

stay out of the kitchen."

when she looked up and saw

Michelle Gabrielli
stepped outside to grab a smoke,

that's when she saw something
that defied all logic --

a bright light in the night sky

moving in a very intentional
and intelligent way.

My name is Michelle,
and this is my video.

So I was standing on my back
porch at my new place

and I'm watching this
bright light.

You can see the bright light,
but you can't see

what it's doing on the phone.

It splits in two, one sits still
and the other

one moves all around it.

And then it goes back together,
and then it'll separate

and one stands still

and the other
one goes all the way around it.

There was one which was
the brightest and the biggest,

and there were other ones
that would fly towards it.

Look, there's another one
coming, see it?

What's crazy is that you can't
see,

but there's two of them
together,

like just circling
around each other

like they're playing
or something. It's weird.

The only thing that really
disappointed me is that

when I was videotaping it
with my camera,

what you couldn't see
is it that the thing

would split
in two and one would sit still

and the other one would go all
the way around it

back and forth, up and down,

and then it would merge together
again.

Then one would come out
of nowhere and join it.

Pretty crazy.
Moving around, changing colors,

splitting in two.

At one point it it looks
like smoke or gases

that are just churning,
but they're in a perfect circle.

Wow.

This incredible capture not only left Michelle awestruck,

it also caught the attention
of the local news,

leaving many to wonder,

"What was hovering
above Oregon that night?"

This pattern of lights that
appear singular, break apart,

suddenly there's two,
come back together,

there's one, is actually
a really common movement pattern

among nocturnal lights
as far as a type of UFO goes.

And the explanations for that,
what we might overlay on that,

of course, are two ships docking
and then coming apart,

maybe a mothership
releasing other ships,

or maybe even the idea that this
is a portal of some kind

and a gateway
into another dimension.

And what we're seeing
is ships or craft or entities

emerging from that space
into our plane of visibility.

Extraterrestrial crafts may be the first thing

many people think of
when seeing this footage.

But could it be something
even more bizarre?

What she describes seeing

is something you don't really
see outside of organic matter.

You don't really see
that outside of nature.

So this makes me think,
"Is this something biological?"

If something like an anglerfish
can exist in the deep sea,

I'm positive something like that
can exist in the stratosphere.

It does seem
to be pulsating.

It does seem
to be getting larger.

It seems to burst out, then
disappear, then come back.

To me, if it is alien in nature,
it's more like

some kind of satellite device
or something.

I don't think there could be any
kind of creature

that's inside this thing.

It has to be controlled
from somewhere else.

And there are those who believe that somewhere else

is right here on Earth.

While this could be
extraterrestrial in nature,

there are theories
that our own government

is establishing
a secret space program

and along with that involves
testing for craft

as well as weapons.

If it's our government that's
doing this...

I don't think it's them, though.

It would be ignorant of me
to think

that we are the only beings
in this whole universe.

I believe that there's
other beings out there.

I think they're revealing
themselves to us,

and I think it's a good thing.

Whether this was
an alien encounter,

a portal to another dimension,
or something else entirely

remains to be seen.

In the meantime, Michelle is
keeping a close lookout

for more mysterious lights
in the sky.

From the doctors and nurses
who try to save lives,

as well as bring some into
this world,

to the people who are admitted
for an injury or illness.

Now, imagine having
all that stress and emotion

and then encountering
something paranormal like this.

Could it be a ghost on the run
or just having a little fun?

It's October 2019,
Dimapur, India.

A man is walking through
the Eden Hospital lobby

when something
catches his attention,

it's a wheelchair just on the
other side

of the entrance and...

...it's moving on its own.

He walks through the doorway

to get a closer look.
The wheelchair rolls forward,

then turns slightly
as if to face him.

It creeps him out
and he walks away.

But then, the man's curiosity
takes over,

and he walks back
toward the wheelchair

to get a second look.

Only to find it now creeping
even closer toward the door

as if it were following him.

Now, he's totally freaked out.

At the beginning of the clip,

I definitely thought, "Okay,
this is probably just, you know,

a wheelchair
that's being pulled by gravity."

But then as the clip goes on,

it looks as if something
is intentionally moving it.

It definitely feels like
something is manipulating it.

McNEILL: It moves as though
there's a person controlling it,

maybe looking in different
directions,

contemplating where to go,

it seems more
intentional than not.

This didn't seem
malicious at all.

It seemed curious.
It seemed playful.

Even -- nothing about
this felt evil.

It really wants to get that
particular person's attention.

If that is what it
wanted, mission accomplished.

I think I would react
exactly the same way.

If I come around the corner
and I see this happening,

takes me a few minutes to go,

"Wait a minute,
what am I seeing?"

I think I would also
sort of freak out.

And given the location where this apparent wheelchair ghost

was captured in a hospital,
there's a number of theories

as to who could be
taking it for a spin.

To me, it looks like
maybe somebody spent

a lot of time in a wheelchair

or maybe that wheelchair
at that hospital.

And, you know, they're just
putting around to this day.

Is there a residual spirit within this hospital,

maybe someone who loved
working as a nurse

or a doctor who passed away

that still feels the need to
help people in their afterlife.

Could a spirit come back
who possibly worked there?

Or could it be just a spirit
just having some fun

and knowing that somebody
might get a little freaked out?

They're just trying to enjoy
themselves a little bit

and playing a little prank
on somebody.

It's hard to say, but
something's going on in India.

We may never have
a definitive answer,

but paranormal activity
like this

is more common in hospitals
than you might think.

Hospitals are
notoriously haunted.

A hospital is basically
a type of portal.

There's so much death happening
and also so much life happening.

I believe that the energy
left behind in hospitals

by doctors, by nurses,

by patients accumulates
within the walls of a hospital.

Now you take all of
the fluctuation of energy

within this building,

makes it a prime location to
experience poltergeist activity.

So the next time
you're in a hospital,

pay attention
to your surroundings

because you never know

who might be rolling in
from the afterlife.
