the one that was opened
two nights ago

by Samson Lay, your second victim,

did not in fact contain any methanol.

So how did all four of you
ingest methanol

if it wasn't in the bottle
of rum you drank from?

Let's start with

the nonlethal dose
you administered to yourself,

Janelle and Antony.

Just enough to make you all ill.

Well, the ice

answers that question.

You laced the ice with methanol,

and when you made
the three poisoned pieces,

you put them on top

of the normal ones
Francesca had already put out.

So when she went to serve the ice

for the first round of drinks,

she naturally took
the ones at the top.

We assume, having spent

the last month
with Samson in the house,

you must have noticed
he drank his rum neat,

with no ice.

Samson then poured
the non-poisoned rum

into each glass,

causing the methanol-laced ice
to slowly begin melting,

administering the tiniest amount

into yours, Janelle's
and Antony's drinks.

Now, at this point, Samson is
sipping from a glass of rum

that hasn't been poisoned.

So how and when did he ingest
the lethal dose?

Well, I believe
he'd already consumed it

shortly before Janelle arrived
to sign the contract.

Quite the soft drinks fiend,
was our Mr Lay.

When I spoke
with young Antony Dulice,

who was the first
to arrive that evening,

he recalls seeing "Patrick"

finishing a can of soda
when he got there.

because they were all poured

from the seemingly poisoned bottled.

But it was this
that really killed him.

It was clever. Really clever.

And you would have
had us all fooled...

..if it wasn't for this.

I'm sorry about Samson Lay.

I don't think he was a good man,

but he didn't deserve to die.

But my brother did.

And I'm not sorry
for what I did to him.
