I ain't ever seen

This could be a alien craft.

I really don't know.

This video is a bit terrifying.

...a run-in with
a Russian yeti...

If I thought I was
in the woods with one,

I would certainly be
ill at ease.

...and even more
paranormal footage

you have to see to believe.

Every day, countless people
witness something

they believe is paranormal.

And with more cameras out there
recording than ever,

it's becoming clear
with each new video

they may be right.

People often leave
the stress and anxiety

from the busy day behind as they
climb into their comfy beds

and settle in for the night.

But as they drift off
into dreamland,

some may find
they have been lulled

into a false sense of security

because the witching hour
is the perfect time

for a visit
from something otherworldly.

A lot of the
apparitions I've seen have been

while I was in my bed when I was
in a very relaxed mental state.

The room is still.

There is less going on
in the atmosphere

that if there is an energy
trying to communicate with you

or trying to make itself known,
that that's the best time.

It's when it's got
your attention.

It has you alone.

You are certainly
at your most vulnerable

when you're asleep,
so there's certainly an openness

to things like that going on.

In September 2016,

Jasmine Aloma
was fast asleep in her bed

when her security camera picked
up some unsettling activity.

If it is a spirit
and they do want to interact

with this person who's sleeping,
getting their attention

is what you would have to do,
and you'd have to wake them up,

and that might be a way
to get their attention

is to pull the covers off them.

It seems like more of a
harassment than a communication,

but I think ghosts only have
so much of a vocabulary

they can use to get
in touch with us.

After checking her
home for intruders,

Jasmine felt safe enough
to go back to bed.

But not for long.

When paranormal phenomena
happens,

there tends to be
electromagnetic fluctuations.

A lot of investigators believe
that lights go off

because the energy is draining
the electromagnetic force

from all of the circuits
around you.

There are many cases
documented for centuries

of people having unpleasant
experiences at night.

For example, the hag attack,
which goes back centuries.

It's called a hag attack
because in earlier times,

people believed that witches
were out at night,

and either they
or demons sent by them

would come and torment people
in their sleep

and even sit on them.

These sorts of experiences
are much different

from visits from the dead.

In July of 2018,
Tony Rodriguez believed

he may have experienced
a visit from the dead

in his Atlantic Heights,
New Jersey, home.

I filmed this video
in my bedroom one night.

At first, I thought
it was my cat,

and I look over and my cat's
at my feet.

I took my hand and I put my hand

down on top of it,
and it went away.

And then a few seconds later,
I see it pop back up

and then I start to see it move,

like trying
to find a resting spot.

Oh, there it is.
Look!

Look.

The out of here.

A couple years ago,
I had a dog

that got hit out here
on the highway,

and my dog used to sleep
on that part of the bed.

Just the way the shape was
and the way it moved around,

I kind of feel like it was
my dog just letting me know

that he was there, maybe.

If it's his routine to be going
to bed that night,

the dog's going
to follow his routine,

and it's gonna probably
be sitting in the same spot

that it used to always sit.

What a great gift for somebody
to have his pet come by

and be by his side again.

I'm a big believer in that when,

you know, you lose a loved one,
they always show you

some kind of sign
that they're still around.

Not every
ghostly nighttime visit

is nearly as sweet.

This video, taken in India
in January 2017,

went viral when a sleeping man

appeared to have
a more hands-on experience.

When people have spirit attacks

or entity attacks
in the bedroom,

one of the most common things
they will describe

is that something
is tugging on their feet.

I personally have had
my ankles pulled

when I've been sleeping,

and I wouldn't say that I felt,
like, hands,

like, pulling at my ankles.

I didn't feel physical.

I just felt my body
from the bottom half of my body

just kind of slide down,
and I wasn't doing it.

There's a superstition where

if you sleep with your feet
facing the door, it's bad luck

because that is how dead people
are brought out of rooms,

feet first,
and so people believe

that it tells the spirits
that you're dead,

and so they'll try
and, like, drag you away.

Despite the unfortunate timing,

it is still possible to get
a good night's sleep each night.

My advice to anyone who
feels that they're being haunted

while they're asleep
is don't panic.

The worst thing you could do
is assume

that it's something coming
from the ninth level of Hell

to drag you down.

A lot of times, spirits
just want to tell their story,

and if they're trying to
impart it to you,

maybe there's a reason for that.

The road crews
for big music acts

crisscross the country
for weeks at a time,

driving thousands of miles
a year

to ensure that the gear
and equipment

arrive safely
to the next concert venue.

During the long dark hours
traveling city to city,

these guys think
they have seen it all,

but recently, one veteran roadie
caught something overhead

that absolutely blew his mind.

In October 2016, Chris Hulbert,

a truck driver who was on tour
with a music group,

was walking back to his hotel
while working a gig

in Charlotte, North Carolina,
when he and his crew

saw some weird light activity
in the night sky.

So, this is
the Le Méridien Hotel

in downtown Charlotte,

and we are here
watching whatever those are.

As you can see,
they're sparkling.

Don't know what they are,
but they're really up there.

Yeah.

You can see it
in my phone, yeah.

I ain't ever seen
anything like that.

My name is Chris Hulbert.

I'm the one who actually
shot the film.

They started out
in an odd formation.

They were blinking and moving
slightly erratical.

If you look closely
at the lights,

you can actually see them
sort of,

like, going back and forth,

and the other odd thing about
the whole situation was the wind

was going the opposite direction
of where this thing was going.

So, whatever they are, they're
moving around like fireflies,

but they're really high up
in the air.

Plus, its light patterns
keep changing.

I actually thought this
video was really interesting.

I'd never seen UFOs
that looked like that.

They sort of are twinkling
and moving.

See if I can show
the hotel here.

There's the hotel, and these
things are all jumping around.

To his credit, he pans down
to give perspective,

be like, "All right, there's
the hotel, there's the lights."

But they're twinkling.

They're coalescing.
They're moving a little bit.

It was way too bright
to be stars.

It was way too bright to be
something that was far off.

It felt like it was
in our atmosphere, in our sky.

As intriguing as this
shimmering display was,

the situation became
even more captivating

when the lights began
to take shape.

Now it's moved into --

it's like a vertical
pyramid-looking thing

or a triangle.

I don't know what that is.

They went from being
just kind of displaced

to turning into a triangle,

so something had to be operating
or moving it into that position.

The lights act as though
they're being manipulated

by some kind of intelligence,

and many people who have
UFO sightings

have the intuitive feel
that they are witnessing

something intelligently
controlled.

I drive all over
the United States and Canada

about 280 days a year,

and I've honestly never seen
anything like this

in all the time
I've been on the road.

Chris later posted
the video online

to see if anyone had
any answers.

He was excited when the local
chapter of Mutual UFO Network,

known as MUFON, reached out
to research the video.

MUFON had documented
this account,

and then they also
talked to the FAA.

And the FAA said they had
nothing in the air that night

that would be over the hotel
in any way, shape, or form.

To actually have somebody
who really thinks this

is something serious
and this isn't just,

you know,
somebody sending up drones

or Chinese lanterns
was pretty cool to know

that it might be something
completely different.

This could be a alien craft.

I really don't know.

It's really unclear
whether or not this

is one entity or a bunch
of entities grouped together,

and if it is a bunch
of smaller entities,

then it's most likely that
they're communicating somehow.

Now it's making
a triangle like

it's an actual geometric form

when before it was
just moving around.

A lot of times we've seen
the triangular

or V-shaped light formation.

This one seemed more
complicated than that,

so I would say
this is unique in that aspect.

There are so many different
types of sightings

of UFOs in the skies.

A lot of people believe
that triangular formations

is a different type of visit
and race of alien

than,
you know, for instance,

you would see these rows
of lights

communicating with each other
with, like, vibrations

and blinking and colors.

That night, Chris filmed

whatever this was
for almost 8 minutes,

but duty called and he had
to put the camera down

to make a run
to pick up equipment.

By the time he'd returned
to the hotel,

the lights had disappeared.

We had a couple of days
in Charlotte,

but that was the only night
that I saw the lights.

There's no real
explanation for it.

The city hasn't come out
and said anything about it.

The military hasn't said
that they were doing

any tests
or anything like that.

It's obviously not airplanes
or helicopters.

We just don't know
what the heck it is,

and that's what makes
this footage so compelling.

No matter what the lights were,

Chris feels that he witnessed
something special that night.

I've always have a belief
in extraterrestrials,

and it was just really cool
to see something

that you hear
about all the time,

and you see these documentaries
of people talking about,

but you never see it yourself,
and then when you do,

it really kind of hits home.

Don't know what they are,
but they're really up there.

Early American care
for the mentally ill

was notoriously poor,

giving the first
psychiatric hospitals a bad rap.

Significant advancements
have been made

since those early days,

and most of the original
buildings have been abandoned.

However, the painful energy
may have stuck around,

and many believe
the still-traumatized spirits

of those who suffered
these barbaric practices

continue to haunt these places,

and Fairfield Hills
State Hospital

in Newtown, Connecticut,
is no different.

It was opened in 1931
and housed the criminally insane

until it was shuttered in 1995.

In the years since the hospital
was boarded up,

it has gained a reputation

as a hot spot
for supernatural occurrences

as two recent paranormal
investigators learned firsthand.

Whoa!

In September 2018,
two ghost-hunting friends,

Omar and James,

set out to explore
the derelict building,

and equipped
with their cameras,

they made their way
through the halls.

These are patient rooms

where they used to house,
like, the --

Well, I mean,
that's exactly what it is.

Yeah.

The type of mental
energy that was emitted

in these places led
to some serious phenomena,

which is why the asylum
is always one of the most

notorious places
you can investigate.

You're always gonna
have some kind of residual

haunting or spirits
that fly around this place.

Something made a noise in here.

It's very important
for investigators

to protect themselves

because there may be earthbound
souls at a place like this

that would be looking for help
and might want to try to attach.

Ghost activity
in the middle of the day

is way creepier than at night
'cause you don't expect it.

Dude, there's something here.

Whoa!

I don't know.

It darted from one side
of the hall to the other.

In places like this,

there was confusion and pain
and mental instability,

so all that energy
could coalesce

into what we call shadow forms.

Now, could this be what that is?

I don't know,
but the possibility exists.

Whoa!

An insane asylum
would carry a lot

of negative haunting residue,

and some of it might even
be rather unpleasant.

I've investigated at many
of these kinds of places,

and I have seen apparitions.

I've seen movements of things,
shadow people,

so it's not unusual to see
something manifest visually.

Against Omar's better judgment,

he agreed to split up with James

to see if either of them could
see the shadow creature again.

Omar explored the ground floor

while James climbed the stairs
to the top floors.

It's bad practice to split up,

not necessarily for paranormal
reasons, but for safety reasons.

A lot of these buildings are
derelict and falling apart.

What the hell?

James!

Is that you, James?

Omar was about to find out...

...just how dangerous separating
while ghost hunting could be.

Yo, James?

You over there?

I just heard a noise
coming from over here.

What the was that?

This video is a bit terrifying.

If I was in a haunted asylum and
a coffee can come flying at me,

I don't know
how I'd react to that.

What the was that?

Could the can have been thrown

by a former tortured patient
of Fairfield Hills?

It is being propelled
by an unseen force,

but the fact that it's coming
from such a low angle,

even if it were
a person throwing it,

it would be almost impossible

to get that kind of force
in that trajectory.

I don't know what just
happened right now.

It's just a coffee can.

That guy had a coffee
can come flying at him,

and I think
that that was legit.

Investigators, you only have
your reputation to go on,

so if you get caught
faking something, you're done,

and I don't think these guys
were faking anything.

Omar was certainly
shaken by the activity

and decided to find James...OMAR: James!

...who turned out to have had a very similar experience.

Wow, yeah. I totally don't
think you're crazy.

Trust me 'cause
it happened to me, too.

The fact that both gentleman

seem to encounter
similar phenomena

makes me think
there's a spirit there

that has gained the power
to move objects

and wants these guys
out of there.

I mean, obviously the
entity wants to do physical harm

to the people within its space.

These two people do not need
to be in this building

and they need to leave
that place immediately

because it could lead
to actual danger.

For their part,
Omar and James decided

to heed the warnings
and leave the ghosts

of the Fairfield Hills
facility in peace,

at least until the next
paranormal-thrill seekers

come knocking.

Coming up, a chilling
sighting in Alaska.

Fairbanks, Alaska,
sits just outside the Arctic Circle,

making it one of the colder
places in the United States.

With temperatures hovering
around freezing

over 8 months of the year,

the landscape is almost always
covered in ice and snow.

While the frigid climate makes
it difficult for humans to live,

one local government employee
may have found proof

that it's the perfect
environment for monsters.

In October 2016,
Alaska Bureau of Land Management

employee Craig McCaa
went down to the Chena River

to take some pictures
of the changing weather,

but instead of snapping
some pictures of ice

forming on the water,

Craig got the shock
of a lifetime.

From his perch on a bridge
above the river,

Craig saw a strange creature

swimming in the icy
waters below.

He decided to film it in hopes
of getting a better look.

My name is Craig McCaa.

I am the person
who shot the video.

I saw movement in the water
beneath me,

and I was spooked initially.

It kind of sent a shiver
down my spine,

if you want to put it that way.

I look down and see this object
in the water,

undulating in the currents,

and quite large,
about 20 feet long or so.

Definitely looks like
a giant creature

kind of just slowly
swimming under the water.

Usually, you see
a lake-monster video

and it's off in the distance.

You're squinting to see it.

The camera can't capture
a lot of detail.

This one -- front and center,
snaking through.

Parts of it were
encrusted with ice.

It had sort of limbs
coming off of it

or some kind of side pieces,

and it rolled a little bit
in the current

as it swung back and forth.

It stayed a little bit
below the water level,

right near the surface,

but it was hard to see exactly
what I was looking at.

Stumped on what it could be,

Craig turned to the Internet
and posted the video

on the Bureau of Land Management
social-media page

asking for help on identifying
the slithering water creature.

My job is
a public-affairs specialist

for the
Bureau of Land Management,

so when I saw the video was
so eerie and mysterious-looking,

that's why I decided
to post it.

The Land Bureau, the ones taking the lead on this,

they have a well-versed
knowledge of animals

that tend to be swimming
in their waters.

So for themto be confused,

well, that definitely shows
that it's something unique.

It could cause quite a stir
and quite a scare

in their community, so they must
be taking it seriously.

There are certainly large
and reclusive species

in places like Alaska.

There's a lot of land up there,

and there's a lot of water
up there,

and things do tend
to grow much larger

in those type of environments.

So, in Alaska, you kind
of have two types of cryptids.

Usually, it's
the bipedal ape-men,

you know, a Sasquatch,
a Bigfoot, or lake monsters.

You know, you got
the Kodiak Dinosaur,

which looks like a plesiosaur,
or a liopleurodon,

which is a very extinct dinosaur
that lived in the oceans.

So it's not out of the realm
of possibilities

that there is a river monster.

If I had to guess which type of
cryptid this is,

I would say it's the Lagarfljot,

which is most commonly seen
in Iceland,

but of course,
the waters of Alaska

and the waters of Iceland
are extremely similar.

So there's no reason why
it wouldn't be able to survive

in Fairbanks as well.

Within a few hours,
the video had gone viral

with over 21,000 views
and counting.

People suggested everything
from an arctic crocodile

to the more outlandish
zombie shark.

But it was eventually dubbed
the Alaskan Ice Monster.

I was contacted
at the time by some people

who said they'd seen strange
things in the Chena River,

some of them dating back
to the 1970s,

and they were very curious
about this,

but that video is the only
exposure that everyone else

but me has
to what I saw in the river.

Not satisfied, Craig
went back several days later

to see if he could get
a closer look,

but the Alaskan Ice Monster
was nowhere to be found,

only adding to the mystery
of Alaska's newest cryptid.

But locals continue to keep
their cameras

trained in the frozen rivers
in hopes of spotting

this new cryptid once again.

I go over that bridge
periodically

on foot and by bicycle.

I always look down in the river
now that I cross there,

but no,
I have not seen it again.

Coming up, specters
in a haunted prison.

Cornwall, England, may be known

for its beautiful coastline

of rugged cliffs
and sandy beaches,

but within the county
is a building

that has gotten attention
for much darker reasons --

Bodmin Jail.

First opened in 1779,
it was in operation until 1909

and was the site of over
55 grizzly executions.

It is said to be one of the most
haunted places in Great Britain.

Since its closure,
paranormal explorers

have investigated the prison,

hoping for a glimpse of one
of the infamous spirits

who still reside in the walls.

One lucky ghost hunter

may have gotten more
than he bargained for.

In September 2017,
Tony Ferguson and his wife

visited the penitentiary
for a second time

to settle some previous
unfinished business.

My name's Tony Ferguson.

Bodmin Jail is
the kind of jail I like.

It's old.
It has a creepy history.

People were executed there,
and it's very, very haunted.

Tony decided
to explore the bottom floor,

which is said to be the most
haunted area in Bodmin Jail.

Once the cameras were
in position,

Tony was ready
to make communication

with any spirits
that might be there.

One of the tactics
that investigators like to use

to stir up activity is
to address the supposed energy

that's there
by a name's basis.

It kind of helps you relate
to the energy there.

It creates a bit of knowledge
about the person

that might
pique the spirit's interest.

Unsure if he caught
anything on camera

besides the lights darkening,

Tony returned to his home to
scour the rest of the footage.

This is a classic
ghost-hunting angle.

What ghost hunters will do
is shoot a camera down

a long hallway hoping to see
something cross back and forth,

and in this instance,
it seems they did.

It looks like an entity.

It looks like a spectral thing
walking by.

The fact that he
called out the name William

and then you see
someone walk through

makes me want to believe
that it might have been him.

Tony immediately took
the video evidence

back to the jail and asked
the employees if there was

any way it could have been one
of them on camera,

but they all said no.

This investigator
went back and they confirmed

that there was no other
living person and there's no one

that could have been
in that hallway at the time,

so I give a thumbs up to that.

Not only did Tony
confirm the footage

was something paranormal,

but he also learned the day
it was shot

had major significance
to the former prisoner.

There's a theory out there,

especially with
a place-memory haunting,

that they seem to work
on a schedule.

They got there on the
anniversary of his hanging

and were able to perceive
that last couple of walks,

and maybe that was William
looking down the hallway

for the last time as he
entered the execution chamber.

Whether or not
the spirit truly was William

or that of another prisoner,

Tony is grateful to have gotten
this capture on camera.

Coming up,
a highly haunted dispensary.

Founded in 1829,
Oregon City, Oregon,

is one of the state's
oldest towns

and is perhaps most well-known

for being the end point
of the historic Oregon Trail.

As the final stop on
the pioneers' westward journey,

it is believed
that the restless ghosts

of these early settlers
still roam the town.

But these days, Oregon City
is home to some new pioneers

who are leading the way
in the legal-marijuana business.

But it seems some of the city's
old ghosts

may want in on the action.

Andy Gomez works at
a marijuana dispensary

in downtown Oregon City.

On August 28, 2018, he was
working alone in the shop

when all of a sudden,
he was startled

by the sound of a jar
tipping over.

My name is Andy Gomez.

Realizing it was caught on the store's security camera,

Andy ran to the back office
to watch the video,

and he discovered that the jar
had been slowly moving

toward the edge of the counter
for over 6 minutes

before it finally fell over.

When the jar, you know, kind of
tips over, it's pretty neat.

I mean, there's definitely
something happening there,

you know?

And this camera was
a little different

than your average
security system.

Since it was in a dispensary,
it had to be state-certified.

It's illegal
to doctor these videos,

so everything you're seeing
is very real.

I wish that all paranormal
videos were state-certified.

That's just one more layer
of validation

as far as this being presented
as evidence.

Further examination
of the security footage

from other dates
around that time

revealed similar incidences
of paranormal activity

from the same area of the shop.

Well, I'll tell you one thing.

If I ever come back as a ghost,

that is exactly what
I'm haunting --

a good weed dispensary.

What makes this capture
more plausible

is the activity is subtle.

It's not extreme.

The objects move a little bit
and then fall.

There's a little bit of activity
in the pencil jar.

That would be more likely
the case

than something that is sudden

or moves
a great distance very quickly.

So this could quite likely
be a haunted place.

Andy would certainly agree.

This was not the first time

he had experienced something
otherworldly in the store.

Andy and the other employees
decided to do some research

into the history
of this particular building

and found out it had been built
on the former site of a pharmacy

that had operated during
the early days of the city.

If this is haunted,

the pharmacy would probably
play into that scenario.

That's where people
would have to go

if they were sick,
if their children were sick.

If they were dying
from their injuries,

they would need whatever cures
they could get their hands on.

We're talking layers of history

that are associated
with this site,

so it's not uncommon
to find paranormal activity

linked to so many
different things

that are mashed together
on top of each other.

Other local stores have also

reported ghostly sightings,
leading Andy and many others

to believe Oregon City
is in fact haunted.

Coming up,
danger in the Russian woods.

With over 12 million people

living in Russia's
capital city of Moscow,

it is among the most populous
in the world.

But just past the city limits,
the bustling streets

begin to give way to
the vast Russian wilderness

that may very well be populated

by some other things
that are not quite human.

In December 2018,

a Russian woman driving
with three of her friends

had just gotten into
a car accident

on a snowy, wooded road
north of the Russian metropolis.

But before they could get out
and assess the damage,

some movement in the trees
caught their attention.

What we see here is some sort

of bipedal, upright creature
that seems to be agitated.

It's running back and forth,

perhaps angry that
someone is filming it.

It almost seems like
an unnatural move

for a wild creature,

but if it's in distress
or somebody is threatening it,

then I could see it
behaving that way.

As they continue to film it,

it's moving throughout
the trees,

so we have a hard time
getting a clear look,

but the girls, you know,
hey, they're brave.

They keep filming.

Their curiosity is getting
the better of them,

so if this is a dangerous
cryptid or whatever it is,

they're taking a chance.

Especially if
the mysterious creature

weaving through the trees
is the legendary Bigfoot,

known to many in Russia
as a yeti.

Russia is a huge country,

and it's full of
remote and dense forested areas.

There have been many official
Bigfoot expeditions

in that country just as
there have been in America,

and some of them have turned up

some rather
interesting evidence.

If I thought I was
in the woods with one,

I would certainly be ill at ease
and want to get out of there.

People do go missing
in the woods

that have never been found
again, so you never know.

I don't think it's
a coincidence

that we are seeing this cryptid
showing up in Russia.

If you recall
the Dyatlov Pass incident,

where nine people
were killed while skiing

and no one knows
what the heck happened,

and there's a lot of people
saying, "Maybe it's a yeti."

It was in 1959 that the bodies

of a group
of experienced ski hikers

were found
at Russia's Dyatlov Pass.

The incident has since become
infamous among cryptid experts.

They found their campground
sort of just, like, intact

with all their belongings,

but the tent itself was ripped
from the inside,

which made no sense,
and you could see footprints

leading to
where they were found.

Six died from hypothermia

and then three died of fatal
injuries that were unexplained.

What caused the hikers
to abandon their campsite

remains a mystery,

but due to the gruesome nature
of their injuries,

some have speculated
they could've encountered

and angered a yeti.

I can understand why
a yeti-type creature

would be a theory.

I don't know how you get
so scared inside a tent

unless something was outside
the tent trying to get in.

If they exist,
they're certainly

large and powerful animals,

and I would imagine that they're
probably very territorial, also.

I wouldn't want
to get close to one.

With the grave danger
close proximity to

a yeti can pose,
perhaps the girls in this video

are lucky to have only suffered
a bit of shock and terror.

I would not go camping in Russia

at any point in any time
because the woods do seem to be

full of paranormal activity
and bizarre creatures.

Russian woods
are just a weird place.

It's not an enchanted forest,
I'll tell you that.

What should youdo in the event

Watch out for unexpected
paranormal attacks.
