biblical proportions...

Human beings have,
throughout history,

interpreted things like this
as portents of doom.

If I were him,
I would be terrified.

...and even more
paranormal footage

you have to see to believe.

Every day, countless people
witness something

they believe is paranormal,

and with more cameras out there
recording than ever,

it's becoming clear
with each new video

they may be right.

The Blue Mountains span
over 4,000 square miles

of eastern Oregon

and stretch
into Washington State.

The largely undiscovered,
thick, wooded area

is the perfect home
for many wild animals,

including Rocky Mountain elk,

white-tailed deer,
and mule deer.

But there is one inhabitant that
has made this forest infamous

and one lucky cryptid hunter
who got it on camera.

Oh, there he goes!

In 1982, Paul Freeman
claimed to have gotten

his first glimpse of Bigfoot
in these very mountains,

and ever since,
he dedicated his life

to capturing the elusive beast
on camera.

Yeah, looks like
they've been here.

Day after day,
he would grab his camcorder

and head out into the Blues.

Paul Freeman passed away
in 2003,

but his son Michael remembers
his dad's adventures

in Bigfoot hunting clearly.

My name is Michael Freeman.

Paul Freeman is my dad.

In 1982, that's when he had his
first encounter with Bigfoot,

and that kind of set off
a 15-year obsession,

I guess you could call it.

Yeah.
We're out in this bush here,

seeing what's going on here.

On August 20th, 1992,

he came across some tracks
that intrigued him...

Look at that!

...believing they could have been made by Bigfoot.

That summer in 1992
was particularly hot,

and a lot of the water sources
had dried up in that area.

Now, Deduct Spring,
where this video was taken,

was one of the viable
water sources

that was still being used
by animals.

Sometimes they come here
and get water.

My dad, knowing this,
had been going up to that area

for a couple weeks, actually,

and he was finding footprint
tracks up there, hair samples.

He had been taking his camera.

He was filming
the collection of evidence.

Wow.
It looks like it's pretty fresh.

He would find stuff,

but he would never have
any sightings,

and he would go back, you know,
the next day or the day after,

and the same thing
would happen over and over.

Yeah, he's going back up
the road, come down the road.

The valuable thing
that Paul Freeman

contributed to the field

really came from
his casts of footprints,

and they have been examined
by experts.

He was able to capture

what are called "dermal ridges"
in his casts.

This is an indication
of striations in the skin.

Paul followed the tracks,

hiking further into the forest,

and kept his camera rolling.

Can't see much up through here.

I hear the brush popping
and stuff.

Oh, there he goes!

Jesus.

He came home.

I remember he came
through the door,

and he was yelling
for my mom.

He was visibly shaking.

He was pale in color.

You could tell that
something had upset him,

and something
had bothered him.

Oh, God.

It's the only time in my life,
including the day that he died,

that I ever saw my dad
scared of anything,

and that, right there, to me --
I mean, I don't have to see one.

That's the only proof
I'll ever need

for the existence
of this animal,

just knowing my dad
and how that affected him.

The interesting thing
about paranormal research

or hunting Bigfoot --
people can be skeptical,

but you cannot deny the impact
that these sightings have had

on the people
who saw the activity.

I mean, what can you say?
You know, your dad comes home,

and he's got something like this
on video,

and you watch it,
and you rewatch it,

and then you watch it again,
and you say,

"Well, that's not a bear.
You know, it's not a man.

It's nothing
I've ever seen, and..."

Yeah, I mean, it was exciting.
It was an exciting time.

This is probably the most
dynamic Bigfoot footage

that I've ever seen.

The movements of this creature
look very natural.

It doesn't look like
a man in a suit.

The height looks right.
The weight looks right.

I feel like this would be
difficult for a man

to hoax all on his own
and the word not get out.

I feel my heart beating
40 miles an hour.

I believe that he saw Bigfoot.

I know my dad.
I grew up with my dad.

I know what kind of person
he is,

and the sheer reaction of seeing
the way that he acted,

of knowing that something had
actually frightened my dad,

who I saw as being Superman,
basically, you know,

growing up -- big guy,
tough guy, brave guy,

someone who wasn't afraid
of any man or beast, you know,

on this Earth -- to actually be
rattled and scared by something.

I don't need any more proof
than that.

For somebody to devote
their whole life

to a field like Bigfoot
searching and squatching,

to finally get something
on camera is a huge deal.

Yeah.

They've been all over this
in here.

This video was taken
in the beginning

of the home-video-camera era,

so I feel like it opened
the floodgates

for people investigating
Sasquatch and ghostly activity.

No matter what Paul Freeman saw in the woods that day,

one thing is for certain.

This video left not only
a lasting impact on his son,

but on the world
of cryptozoology.

Next to the Patterson-Gimlin
footage of 1967,

this is the apex
of Bigfoot footage.

Now his evidence is
being looked at

by a whole new generation

that's a little more accepting
of the subject.

I really do wish that he would
have lived long enough

to see this surge of popularity
for the subject.

he deserved that he never got.

During the day,
offices all over the world

are buzzing with activity
and movement,

while at night,
the once-busy office

can begin to look
like a ghost town.

But for some offices, that term
may have to be taken literally.

There are a high number
of haunted office buildings

across the globe.

A lot of this stems back to
what the building was used for

before it was an office.

Sometimes
they were slaughterhouses

or funeral homes,
or sometimes they were built

over relocated cemeteries
or battlegrounds,

so a lot of times
that kind of energy lingers.

And something must have been lingering in this office

because in January of 2017,

as this woman worked alone into
the night with headphones on,

the security cameras captured
some surprising activity.

Keep an eye on the chair
on the right side of the screen.

I love this one
because of the suspense.

We know that something's
going on here,

and we don't know
where it's gonna go.

It seems as if this entity

certainly wanted
to get her attention,

and she just simply
didn't pay it any mind.

Sensing she may not be alone,

the woman removed her headphones

just in time to notice
the next disturbance.

We do have cases where
the spirit escalates activity --

starts out with something small,

and then it moves on
to more things or bigger things

as a way of getting attention.

And what it did move on to

was impossible to go unnoticed.

Something exerts a lot of force
on that chair.

It's not her legs or her arms
doing it.

That's clearly not the case.

This very well may be a residual
haunt or residual energy

that is just enacting
all the things.

Maybe that lady
just happened to be

in the middle
of a storm of energy.

But if it was intelligent,
this could be something saying,

"Hey. I tried
to get your attention.

You weren't listening to me.
I had to take your chair.

Sorry, not sorry."

You can kind of see a very faint
outline of something,

like, a really dark mass
right behind her chair.

I don't know if it was, like,
a malicious entity,

but maybe, if it was really,

like, trying that hard
to get her attention.

Malicious or not,
losing her chair

proved to be too much
for this woman.

If I was this woman
in this office,

I would have put my two-weeks
notice in immediately

and then taken
as many vacation days

out of those two weeks
as possible

and never gone back
because an office job

is not worth losing your life
to a demon.

The great state of Texas has been a hotbed of UFO activity

going all the way back to 1897

when locals claimed
an unidentified airship

crashed into a farm in Aurora.

may hold the proof

that we're not so 'lone

pulled into the parking lot

of his apartment complex
in Tomball

when he noticed his neighbors

were all standing around
staring at the night sky.

They seem genuinely scared.

It looked like
a three-dotted triangle,

and what was weird is
they were rotating,

It is a very fluid,
interesting motion

that you don't generally see
from airplanes or helicopters.

It looks as if they're working in cooperation with one another,

as opposed to just
rogue flying objects that are,

perhaps, asteroids or comets.

It seems as if they have some
intelligent life behind them.

Look at that.
Look at them.

There goes one.
Now they're back to two lights.

- Ooh, there it goes.
- There goes one.

- Boom. All three go out.
- What is that?

There's another one.

- Look. It's zig-zagging!

When they start to move around
and zig and zag

and come together
and break apart,

we currently don't have
any technology that we know of

that can do that,
so it makes you wonder,

"What am I looking at?
What's up there?"

- They're moving.

Dude, this is nuts.

Unbelievable.

When I posted the video,

I got a enormous amount
of people messaging me,

sending me messages
of the same exact lights,

and, apparently,
there was, like,

a trail of these that were
going on across Texas.

There are some hot spots
in Texas known for,

you know,
paranormal activity,

especially with orbs
and strange lights.

I could speculate.
Let's say...

I mean, who knows?

Who's to say
that we're alone out there?

Nicholas hasn't seen
the lights again,

but if Texas' long history
with UFOs is any indication,

he should keep his eyes
on the skies.

Since the dawn of civilization,

mankind has worried its days
on Earth may be numbered

and has looked for omens
of a coming apocalypse

that could wipe out humanity.

Perhaps the most well-known
signs of impending doom

are the 10 plagues of Egypt
from the Book of Exodus,

which included rivers
turning to blood

and three days of darkness.

While humanity survived
since the days of those stories,

recent sightings of one
particularly harrowing plague,

which was once quite rare,

have started to become
more frequent,

causing people
once again to worry.

Is the world about to end?

These black clouds,
seen here in 2017 on a road

in Russia's
Republic of Dagestan region,

are, in fact, millions
of locusts swarming farms

and devouring
every plant in sight.

This is insane.

I could not imagine
being in that car.

What would you do
in that situation?

Do you pull over?
Do you keep driving?

You definitely don't get out.

To see something like that,

and then to be caught
in the middle of it

and to capture it on camera
must have been terrifying.

It's really incomprehensible

how big a locust swarm can be.

They will just absolutely
obliterate fields

and leave farmers
with these kind of scablands.

In this video from 2014,

a swarm of locusts invades
a residential community

in Madagascar.

And in 2017, this swarm
destroyed thousands of acres

of cornfield
in China's Shandong province.

The answer to why the rise
of these destructive swarms

might be more terrifying
than the insects themselves.

Looking at this footage,

there's a biblical component
to it

that a lot of people see
with the locusts

as a plague sent from God.

Human beings have,
throughout history,

interpreted things like this
as portents of doom,

of bad things to happen.

How biblical can it get?

The swarm that attacked Russia
in 2017

affected nearly
450 square miles of land,

and the food shortages
that these apocalyptic events

can cause
bring to mind Famine,

one of the four horsemen
of the apocalypse

as described
in the Book of Revelations.

It can be really shocking
to see the sky turn black

from a bunch of bugs.

People who are into symbolism

are going to see that
as a religious sign.

As locust swarms
continue to plague humanity,

the question has to be asked --

what should we
look out for next?

I think we can expect
to see them get stronger.

There can be other signs,
as well, like moral decay,

strife, warfare on the planet,
signs in the sky,

reading the movements of clouds
or unusual lights in the sky,

or some sort of celestial
nighttime phenomena

that would be
portents of doom, as well.

These would all be seen as signs
that the end was at hand.

Uintah County, Utah, is home

to Dinosaur National Monument,

and with over 1,500 fossils
on display,

it gives visitors a glimpse
into what life was like

surrounded
by dangerous monsters.

But the prehistoric beasts

might not be the only strange
creatures found in the area.

Within the county sits
Skinwalker Ranch.

The 512 acres are said to be

among the most paranormal land
in the United States,

and one visitor
recently experienced why.

Legend has it that
there is a curse on the land

going back to the times
of the Navajo and Ute Indians.

After the Navajo lost the prime
hunting spot to the Ute,

they cursed the area with
creatures known as skinwalkers.

Skinwalkers are
malevolent witches

who are able to shape-shift
into other animals,

such as coyotes or foxes,
to evade detection.

The dangerous creatures scared
the Ute off the land.

This entire area --
just the history

of the Skinwalker Ranch --
I would love to go.

I would never
go near Skinwalker Ranch

because I want to live.

The curse has
spanned generations,

and not only do skinwalker
sightings still occur,

but more recently,
cattle mutilations

and UFOs have been spotted
around the grounds, as well.

The Skinwalker Ranch is
a active zone

that has been investigated
since the early 1950s.

Phenomenon from UFOs, aliens,
cryptids, bulletproof wolves,

ghosts -- you name it,
it's happened on this ranch.

It seems to be a hotbed

for all kinds of different
paranormal activity.

I've been out to
Skinwalker Ranch once myself.

I've never been
inside the property.

It's guarded.

Nobody gets onto the property
without proper access.

A lot of people in the area
don't even want to talk

about the skinwalkers
because even thatis bad luck.

I've spoken with truck
drivers that run that course,

and they say that these things

will run right alongside
the cab of their truck

while they're out at night
on these lonely desert roads.

In this video
that went viral in 2017,

a visitor to the area
may have actually captured

one of these mythic skinwalkers
on camera.

The driver noticed a strange,
black, humanlike form

staring back at him
from one of the rocks.

I could tell that this guy has no idea what he's looking at.

Why else would he be filming it?

He's studying it,
and it doesn't move.

It seems the creature knows
that it's being studied

and is holding completely still.

Suddenly, the creature
seemed to morph

as it moved away
from the driver,

inhabiting characteristics

of a few different species
at the same time.

It moves like a feline,
but it has a heavier body type.

It was kind of
crawling a little bit,

so it wasn't really like
the gait of a bear or anything,

you know, or even a wildcat is
a little more stealth than that.

This thing was, like, kind of,
like...slithering and crawling.

It sort of looked a little bit panther-ish, gorilla-ish.

It moved a little bit,
you know, kind of human-like.

Yeah, it was really freaky.

This looks to be a skinwalker because it's on all fours.

It's definitely a shape
of a coyote type,

which is usually how they
manifest themselves in reality.

It is walking very bizarrely,

not like any other animal
that I've seen.

It's hard to say.
Is it a cryptid?

Is it a spirit of some sort?

Is it a holy person who has
transcended our knowledge

of the physical being?

We don't know.

I would have absolutely run away

because skinwalkers
can be really dangerous.

Many viewers of
this video thought it proved

the existence
of skinwalkers on the ranch,

but if these creatures are
truly harbingers of a curse,

the next person to film
one of the mythical beasts

that inhabit this land
may not get away so easily.

when some movement in the brush
caught their attention.

and pulled them out to record
the strange activity.

I think my reaction would be
like, "What the eff?"

That is really weird.

I would love to see that.

Everybody says it's fake,
that there was a string attached

and there was some other
explanation like that,

and we know that it wasn't,
so...Absolutely not.

...that just makes it feel
kind of neat, in our minds,

that we just knew it was
unexplainable, really.

What the hell is that all about?

Look how fast it's going.

It was not windy
at all.

It was a very sunny,
nice, calm day,

and this area that we're in is
kind of a remote, forested area.

It just has
dirt-bike paths on it,

so even if there was
a tiny bit of wind,

it was all protected
with the trees

and whatnot that were
around there.

- Right.
- So we really studied that.

We were like,
"Nothing else is moving at all

around the plant."

So it was -- that's what
made it weird.

And for it to sway
as violently as it was...Right.

...there was just
no explanation for it.

It was truly a
once-in-a-lifetime experience.

It really was.

Okay. That is really
starting to creep me out.

It definitely felt like
a paranormal experience.

I had never seen
anything like that,

and the eerie feeling
that we felt -- it was...

It just felt like the plant
didn't want us there,

and the way it was moving,
it just...

Something was kind of
off there.

It really was.

It seems silly, but it felt like
it was mad at us

because it would start swaying
more violently

the more we were trying to
do anything to stop it.

And I took that
as a warning.

We came to the point
where we're like,

"This thing's warning us
to get out."

Many speculated that the leaf, a palmetto frond,

was light enough to catch
the slightest breeze,

causing it to sway wildly.

But that explanation
was not enough

to convince
Jason and Jennifer.

The primary reason
we posted it online

was to get
an explanation,

and everybody
scientifically explained

what was going on there,
and I just don't agree with it.

The way we felt
out there --

it felt like
a paranormal experience.

It just -- I didn't see
the scientific explanation

as what we saw that day.

It really didn't feel
that way.

That thing is just creepy.

the moving-plant clip

captured the internet's
imagination,

so did this October 2018 video

of the forest floor breathing
in Sacré-Coeur, Québec.

I've never seen
anything like that.

It has such an upheaval.

It's like a sleeping giant.

It really defies logic.

It's a fascinating image.

Nature is endlessly strange,

and footage like this

is an indication
that nature is alive,

and it kind of has a soul
or has a energy to it.

The world is
a crazy, mixed-up place.

Sometimes it's mysterious.
Sometimes it's natural.

Sometimes there's a combination
of the both,

so you never know
what you're gonna find

when you
walk down the road

or you walk into a haunted house

or you walk in the forest.

in the kitchen.

The town of Pembroke, Wales,

dates back to 1093
with a construction of a castle

that would become the birthplace
of King Henry VII.

This medieval fortress
still stands,

attracting visitors to tour
the home of the famous monarch.

In a town steeped with
almost 1,000 years of history,

it's no wonder
one recent resident

has come face-to-face

with ghosts of Pembroke's past,
literally.

In early 2009,
a local man started noticing

strange movements
in his Pembroke apartment.

Objects weren't always
in the same place

or had fallen from their spot.

He tried catching it on camera,
but hadn't had any luck.

Those are my videos.

That's my camera and my house.

I've been living in
the same house the whole time.

He has chosen
to remain anonymous

to protect his privacy.

There was, like, an increase
in me noticing things

that weren't
where they should be.

So I started
leaving cameras around.

On July 19th,
after months of trying

and failing to capture
anything on camera,

he returned home to find not
only was his kitchen a mess...

...but this time,
the camera recorded everything.

You've got a problem,

and if you're just going to
set up a camera to capture it,

I think you should be spending
your time going to get help.

That would be my recommendation.

When you see strong bursts
of things happening,

you know, it shows
an accumulation of energy.

Kitchen poltergeist
seems to be very common.

Maybe it has to do
with the fact that kitchens

tend to have more
throwable items.

But what is it like
to live day in and day out

with a poltergeist?

If I've come home from work,
you look at it and sort of sigh,

and you go to bed.

You just don't want to face it.

If you're coming back from
the pub, it can be different.

You've got kind of
creepy vibe then.

You're, like, looking over
your shoulder a bit.

But I can't say
I've ever noticed

any, like, feeling,
like, sensation

other than what you sort of
talk yourself into feeling,

like when you walk into
a creepy building or something.

If I were him,
I would be terrified.

I'm a big ghost fan,
but with that kind of activity,

I would be concerned
for my safety

and the safety
of others around me.

If things are flying through
the air around you, you flinch.

You're afraid of being hit.

You're worried something's
gonna go in your eye

or stick in your head, you know,

especially when it's glass.

Wondering what could
be causing all of the activity,

he pulled out a Ouija board,

which can be
quite controversial,

to see if he could
get any answers.

All right, I'm talking to
the entity now.

I know that Ouija boards

are seen as just a game
or just a toy.

They're created
by Milton Bradley.

But they are serious instruments
to reach the other side.

It is not just for fun.

This person should not be
going in there

and tempting this entity
to come to the other side

and make his life a living hell.

The first time we used
the Ouija board

was just covering
all the bases, you know?

I don't know if this was
a paranormal occurrence

or a physical phenomenon.

Can you give me a sign --

It's not something
I would do very often.

I don't know if it causes
an increase in activity.

Was that you banging?

People report poltergeist things
erupting in their home

after they've used
Ouija board sessions --

mysterious noises,

objects being moved around
or falling off shelves

or tables and breaking.

So it's not out of the realm
of possibility

that something like this
could happen.

Holy sh...

During one of the sessions, he noticed a strange mist.

I don't know if you can
see this on camera,

but...

holy.

Spirits can appear as mists

if there's enough energy for one
to manifest in a solid way.

To see a mist right after
a Ouija board session

would seem to be concurrent
with that type of activity.

If a ghost was maybe
trying to manifest,

he might be more comfortable
with you

seeing a mist rather than him.

There are ghosts that appear
as swirling smoke.

Sometimes they appear
as a round ball.

I never directly got, like,
a straight answer

to a question
that leads me to believe

that there's
an intelligence behind it.

Not satisfied,
he resolved to try again.

I'm gonna be doing
this Ouija board thing again.

I've been using these glasses.

The idea was that
because it's so tall,

you'd be able to see.
I know --

Why am I even surprised?

The energy that shattered it --

it sort of seemed to throw
the glass in all directions,

as if the energy was coming
from inside the glass itself

rather than some projectile

being cast against
the outside of it.

...you'd be able to see.
I know --

Well, that had happened before.

Well, the glass hadn't exploded,

but it had been
violently pulled out

from under my fingers before,

but when it just
explodes,

you know,
you're expecting maybe a tug.

You're steeling yourself
for that,

and then it explodes
in your fingers,

and you look down to see
if you're cut

and, you know, it's relief then.

You would think that

after experiencing
all this activity,

most people would be inclined
to move from this house,

but surprisingly,
that's not the case here.

I don't even know
if I would move

because I like the area,
and all my friends are here.

Instead, he's found ways to cope with his poltergeist roommate.

I find that
if I'm not asking a question

or directly addressing things,

that it tends to not happen,
or maybe I just don't notice it.

All I can do is just film
empty rooms as long as possible,

and if something happens,
it happens, and I catch it.

that have been mystifying humans
for decades.

Farmers would wake up
to find giant patterns

etched into their fields,
displaying symbols

that seem extraterrestrial.

The first big rash
of these sightings

began in England

Their intricate design
and stealthy ability

to materialize out of nowhere
leave many to wonder

who or what created them?

Over the years, researchers

but have not been able
to agree on their origin.

I've spent quite a few
months in England myself

in the 1990s researching
this phenomenon

to see if it had
a mysterious origin,

because people were looking
for non-human explanations --

that it was angels or divas,
the earth spirits,

or it was aliens.

We've never really found
a non-human explanation

or even very good evidence
for a non-human explanation,

which does not mean
there isn't one.

that all of the crop circles
are man-made.

are trying to communicate.

It's not that far-fetched.

You know, if you were stranded
on a desert island,

and you were trying to
communicate with planes

flying over,
you might spell out words.

This is exactly
the same thing in reverse.

So if it were
an intended message,

it would just be like
them from above

taking their finger
and writing in the sand.

The appearance of these circles

can be quite shocking
for those who live nearby.

One case rattled locals
in Tolyatti, Russia,

and made the national news
in July 2005

for their mysterious appearance.

We do have some across the world

that are still not explained,

with the phenomenon
of the perfect spheres,

with the phenomenon of
the mathematical intelligence

behind the crop circles
that do make people wonder,

"Who the heck is making
these things?"

The people of Tolyatti thought the phenomenon was behind them

until something appeared
once again

exactly 10 years later.

In July 2015, Tolyatti resident
Alexei Zagorodnikov

was out flying his video drone

and suddenly noticed
some strange symbols

in the same field below.

Of all the crop-circle photos
I've seen,

I've never really seen
two created

10 years to the day that
the last crop circle happened.

According to Alexei,

the circles weren't there
just two days earlier.

The five circles, ranging
from 60 to 150 feet in diameter,

seemingly showed up overnight.

The fact that
they appear overnight,

and they're so intricate
that you would think,

"There's no way somebody
could do this in one night."

The circles were
very impressive --

150 feet in diameter.

I mean, that's quite a feat.

The farmer's crops are damaged,

so there's no way
that a farmer would allow --

or definitely would not
do it themselves.

So whatever or whoever is
doing these

is doing it
against the farmer's wishes,

against the law,
and in incredible speed.

What could
the crop circles mean,

and why 10 years later?

There are, you know, different,

varying schools
of thought on that.

These things mark
some kind of an event.

So for them to show up
on the anniversary

would make sense.

The fact that the design reappeared in the same area

10 years later is very weird.

I wonder if, like,
10 years after that,

it's gonna show up again,
and if it means anything.

When it comes to crop circles
and why we look to the sky,

something like the Nazca lines
cross my mind,

where, in ancient times,

these massive carvings
into the ground were made,

and when you're at ground level,
you can't appreciate them.

They can only be seen
from above.

Now, who's above?

The gods, the deities,
which, back then,

that's probably what
they were considered.

And today,
those gods and deities

are probably extraterrestrials,
aliens --

someone from on high
that could see those messages.

And crop circles are very much

the modern examples
of Nazca lines.

I think it persists to this day
as a testament

to how we're still looking
to the sky for answers.
