This would be a first for him.

But that's only out of my protective nature.

Normally, most kids his age would have thrown.

because when you toss them,

if they don't come out,

it decreases the effectiveness of the shocker.

I think, as far as Emmett goes,

I'd like to see him take over throwing full-time, really.

Because my shoulders are getting old,

and I think he would make a great harpooner.

And I'd like to see him, definitely,

take the pressure off me because, you know,

we're not doing too well with me throwing.

shows his disadvantage,

fishing without a spotter plane.

at least one or two today, for a paycheck.

I love passing my harpoon knowledge

and fishing down to my three kids.

Unfortunately, my other two kids,

Peter and Maggie,

can't come fishing with me much anymore.

They were diagnosed with limb girdle muscular dystrophy.

It's a muscle-wasting disease.

So they both have a genetic mutation

and...

they'll be in a wheelchair by teenage years.

There you go, Peter.

You know, Peter came home from the hospital,

you know, he walked at a normal age.

He came out on the boat as a little kid

and he would climb the tower of a harpoon boat

at the age of six.

And right around eight years old

is when we kind of noticed

he wasn't keeping up with his friends.

Um, he couldn't climb the, you know,

ladder of the boat very well anymore.

Finding out my kids were...

diagnosed with muscular dystrophy

was definitely the worst day of my life.

I pledge allegiance to the flag...

We're praying that we can find a cure.

We're gonna have to do it ourselves.

That's the harsh reality because it's so ultra-rare.

So I think we can fund a clinical trial,

and bluefin tunas can make you good money

if you know how to stick them.

So there's a lot of pressure on me to go up there

and hit fish when the opportunity presents itself.

Emmett's miss was tragic in the sense

that we don't have the fish,

but well worth it in the sense

that now he has some experience,

and there is one thing for sure,

you relive it in your mind.

And from that experience, you learn.

and go the wrong way.
