Well, you see that I come here with

a notepad because I hope not to leave

me anything.

In today's video we want to talk to

you about something that has stolen our time

for almost two weeks, more or less ten

days, because Erika and I, and especially Erika,

have been in charge of making the last

Slideshow.

And well, the truth is that we would

like to share with you how we have

done it, how we have done everything we

have discussed, because Erika and I, as I

say, we have been for ten days, and

especially the first three or four days, debating

how to make this Slideshow, what song to

use, the mistakes we have made, which have

been many, well, mistakes or proofs, that we

have not stopped, that if we used this

type of photos, that if we used another

type of photos.

So in this video, which I would like

to share a little with all of you,

what has been the workflow, what has been

the evolutionary process until we have managed to

finish this Slideshow, that of course we are

experiencing a very, very atypical wedding season and

that, in quotes, has allowed us to splurge

or invest a time that in another wedding

season we would not have been able to

invest almost ten days in making a Slideshow.

So before we start, I would like to

show you the Slideshow, although I know that

possibly many of you have seen it because

we published it last Friday on Instagram, but

hey, it is not in vain that we

put it so that this video is a

little more didactic, right?

So inside video.

Pasquale and Daniela together are a family now,

but we have always been since the first

day.

We have not been together for many years,

but from the first moment I realized that

she was the woman of my life.

In my character maybe they didn't go well.

Despite her young, fresh age, she helped me

a lot.

Before I dedicated 90%, almost 100% of

my life to work.

Since she has been there, for example, my

work has exploded.

It has become all the more beautiful to

go to work, even to go on the

road, even to go around the world.

Well, I hope you liked it.

First of all, I would like to show

you the timeline, so that you can take

a look at it and see that it

is not a waste of time.

Of course, maybe if any of you are

a videographer, you will say, well, it is

not that complicated either, but of course, for

us as photographers, in the past our Slideshows,

I am talking about a couple of years

ago, were super basic.

I mean, we took a song, we tried

to synchronize it as best as possible and

it was over.

Of course, you see that in this slide,

as in the previous ones that we have

been showing, it already includes audios from the

couple in this case and you see that

the song or the photos go perfectly synchronized.

But hey, first of all, first of all,

from what I should start, I mean, tell

you that we photographed this wedding in southern

Italy in September, just a couple of months

ago.

The wedding, not only did we photograph it,

both Erika and I, but an Italian photographer

came in, in which I have told you

about him several times, his name is Fabio

Mirula, for us he is one of the

best photographers in the world, he is an

incredible person, he is an incredibly positive person

and well, the truth is that we had

to, well, sorry, the wedding was held on

September 9, Tuesday or Wednesday, sorry, Fabio had

the day off and asked us to accompany

him, so I think it was logical that

he mention it, because of course, a large

part of the photos are ours, but obviously

there are many that are also his and

it is correct to mention it.

Okay, once we had already photographed the whole

wedding, it was a super intense wedding, super

crazy, with a lot of party, despite the

fact that it was photographed in times of

COVID, you will see that no one used

masks except photographers and videographers, right?

Of course, I say this, that we photograph

the wedding, because a wedding is never photographed

thinking about the slideshow, I mean, the wedding

is photographed in the best possible way and

once we have selected, edited all the images,

we will make a selection again, in this

case I remember that I selected around 300

images, the 300 most powerful and I gave

them to Erika, I say that I gave

them to Erika because I am the one

who is always going to be in charge

of selecting photos, editing them, making them perfect

and Erika is always going to be in

charge of designing the slideshow, okay?

Once I gave her all, the brainstorming came,

I mean, to think, okay, what do we

do, right?

The first idea was to think, okay, it's

time to choose a song, which is something

that I take care of, right?

And we were thinking about it, right?

Because we wanted to find a super important

song, of course, that would define the couple

a bit, right?

And what we started to think, okay, we

need something that is super moved, super crazy,

at the same time something tense and at

the same time dramatic and we even thought

about including a song that was rock or

something super or something instrumental very hard, that

is, very papapapa or something classic, that is

to say, using classic music but also super

moved, right?

Because we wanted the music to be coupled

with the way of being of the couple

and ultimately of the wedding that they prepared,

right?

So then I started looking in Artlist and

well, I was looking, looking, looking and I

found several, among them this one, I would

like, well, I would like to show it

to you, so that it comes to your

mind a little bit or so that you

have it present and well, and then we

talk a little more, right?

Well, I want you to listen to it.

Ok, you see that it is fine, but

it did not finish convincing me, right?

At the same time that I was looking

for this song, I had in my mind

a song that served to open a program,

a television program, Spanish television, which was something

like about documentaries or about similar things, but

I did not remember the program or the

song or anything, right?

So in Google, that is, quickly in Google,

I started looking for epic classical music song,

epic dramatic classical music song and the song

that I was looking for finally appeared to

me, it is a song by Carmina Burana,

yes, it is called Carmina Burana and it

is a simply brutal song, which is the

one we use for the Slideshow.

It is a song that lasts two and

a half minutes and is formed by an

intro, an epic intro that fits perfectly with

what we wanted to show and after the

intro came a kind of like a little

valley, right?

It is very, very soft and little by

little, at the end, a brutal jump came

again and the music, well, I mean, it

packed, it got super crazy and that could

fit.

The main thing for us was or the

main way to start or something super important

was, okay, we have to use a photo

that opens, a first photo that is breaking

and a last farewell photo or final that

is also super breaking.

Why this?

Because the viewer is going to stay with

the first part and with the last part.

The valley, as it is obvious, yes, they

are going to remember it, right?

But how do we start and how do

we end?

That is super important, okay?

With which we started to think about how

to distribute.

But of course, the first part, the intro

as such, was the most expensive and in

fact we did several tests or Erika did

a lot of tests that we are going

to show you, right?

So that you can see a little the

process that we went crazy, right?

Of course, we started thinking, okay, the intro,

right?

That the intro was forming, it was formed,

sorry, by three blocks, that is, by three,

that is, by three kicks, right?

And at the same time it was formed

by 20, that is, it could be, sorry,

we needed 20 photos for that intro and

then we thought, okay, what photos do we

use, right?

At first I told Erika, they have to

be party photos and we already use 20

party images but in color.

Of course, the color in this case, although

I love color, it did not work, it

did not finish convincing, so I told Erika

that maybe, well, wait, before she continues, I

would like to show you what the first

intro was, okay?

They are very, very few seconds, okay?

So that you can see all this, okay?

So I put the intro on you and

then we continue.

Of course, as you have seen, right?

This intro worked well but perhaps it did

not finish convincing us, therefore, as I told

you before, I told Erika, okay, we have

to change, we have to choose photos of

the whole wedding, right?

And then we chose photos of the whole

wedding in which they were black and white,

color ...

Well, without much criterion, we chose 20 and

the second test was like this.

They did not convince us either, because

there were perhaps preparatory photos that came down,

right?

It seemed that suddenly it went up and

suddenly it went down.

And remember that the intro goes up all

the time, right?

It goes on increasing, with which we needed

to give it another twist.

So we decided to open or use 20

images that transmitted energy at all times, in

which you could see the groom screaming, or

the bride crying, or dancing, or lying down,

or being thrown in the air, or being

on the ground ...

I mean, super crazy images.

And then we put together 20 in which

there were both images in color and images

in black and white.

But of course, in this case it did

not work to combine color and black and

white, so then, quickly, Erika asked me, okay,

all these color photos, I want them to

go to black and white.

So I had to re-edit all those

images for black and white so that in

the end we could get this.

Once we had this, we already knew that

the thing worked quite well, okay?

And it was already the least expensive, right?

Because we were clear that the most expensive

thing was going to be that intro, and

then it was going to work.

The day before we prepared some audios, I

mean, at the same time that we were

talking to the couple, we told them that

we would like to do a little interview,

right?

So we took out the recorder, we interviewed

them and simply, both Pascale and Daniela, we

asked them a few questions and we already

recorded all that, right?

Why did we record?

Because we wanted to have a little bit

of an audio track that made some sense

to our photos, right?

I mean, we wanted to do a slideshow

like the old ones, right?

Like the ones we had done last year,

in which it was not only a collection

of photos with music, but there was something,

there was something that personalized, or a speech,

or simply because of an interview as it

was, for example, by the couple.

So then what we did, those interviews or

small clips, we used them for that valley

of the song.

At first, all that valley, for almost two

minutes, was all words, all words from Pascale

and her, but the slideshow was super long,

super monotonous and a bit, in quotation marks,

boring, right?

With which Erika decided to cut and just

put in some small clips, right?

So that, in quotation marks, to use photos

and use her audio, okay?

In the end, you have already seen how

it turned out, right?

And finally, it was already the end, right?

The end of the slideshow, in which the

photos go to hell, they go super fast,

pa, pa, pa, pa, pa, pa, pa.

And just as it ends, as I had

told you, with the photo of the foot

that comes out there, right?

With dirt and with all the story and

all this, right?

Of course, the slide was a real madness,

that is, it has been a real madness

to prepare it, as I have told you,

right?

In another part of, or in another year,

with a season up, because of work, it

would have been impossible, right?

Finally, when we delivered it, well, the couple

simply fell in love, they loved it, in

fact, they did, or did on Friday, they

did a live, they have published it in

all, in all social networks, which is perfect.

We loved it, but then, after seeing it,

I have a lot of doubts, right?

A lot of doubts that, I suppose, come

with our DNA, with our way of being

and with what we are as photographers in

general, right?

That, although we have a job, perhaps well

done, sometimes I have doubts, right?

I have no doubt about the photographic quality,

because I think we were very fine, I

think we worked hard, I think the photos

are quite interesting, in fact, well, I'm going

to create a blog post with what was

the, well, with what was the wedding, but

I have doubts, and the doubts that arise

are the following.

Sometimes I think, okay, I have these photos,

these photos are correct, or more than correct,

and how do I show them?

Because sometimes I think, okay, my photos are

the protagonists, they are the ones that command,

or the ones that should command, everything else,

everything that surrounds, song, audios, or whatever, is

superficial, it's like for, it's like, it's like

the strawberry, the cake, which, in quotes, is

not necessary, after all, what is important?

The photos.

What I want to get to is that

when we choose a song, as in the

case of Carmina Burana, the song affects the

rhythm of the photos too much, or the

rhythm of everything.

What I mean is that there are photos

in the slide that go by super fast,

and there are photos that need, that would

need time, I mean, sometimes I think that

it is good to use a song so,

so good, so incredible, so historical, because the

song does not go super edited with the

photos, but the photos go super edited with

the song.

Do you understand where I'm going?

It's not like, what is the criterion that

we are going to establish, okay?

And more things.

So, if we choose a song that would

fit, that would work perfectly with the photos,

sometimes it would be such a soft, so

insipid song, perhaps, without so much importance, that

perhaps, sometimes, that we have prepared it, there

are very long slides, and a bit like

that, monotonous, right?

And sometimes it seems like, not boring, but

they do not convince us.

Also, on the other hand, when we put

audios, when we put audios like in this

slide, sometimes what happens is that we do

not know if the cinematographic language, not the

photographic language, that is, this is different, the

cinematographic language that we are using is correctly

used.

I mean, we have learned photography, we may

know something about photography, but not about video.

I mean, when we are preparing a slideshow,

and in which we are preparing or mixing

video clips, as sometimes, audios, as in this

occasion, it would not hurt to receive a

one-to-one or a class from some

cinematographer, from some good videographer, in which he

would explain a little, look guys, this would

work like this, this would work, it would

work better.

But of course, sometimes, when we have spoken

with videographers, or it has been Cayuela Videos,

it is one of our favorite Spanish videographers,

or in his videos, both are hyper-professional

videographers with an infinite quality, we have agreed

with them several times, but both have, for

example, a different style.

And when we talk to both, they have

different criteria, and sometimes they are driving us

crazy.

So it's crazy, and as you can see,

sometimes it's like forgetting about the cinematographic laws

and saying, hey, this comes out of our

hearts, the couple has loved it, future couples

will continue to love it, but it is

that little thing that we have left inside

us to say, are we doing it right?

Are we going too far?

Are we jumping to the basic rules of

editing or cinematographic language as such?

Come on, it's a headache and we could

be debating for many minutes and days, but

hey, I'll leave it to you, and if

you want to contribute something, with total frankness

and with total honesty, you can comment on

But hey, I think it is part of

the DNA of photographers, I think there is

never a photographer who is calm with his

work, or who is 100% convinced of

what he is doing, because it is fine.

I think it is part of the learning

of us, of the things that we are

doing little by little, and who knows, surely

next year we will still have the same

doubts, the same problems, or perhaps we will

have received some one-to-one from cinematographic

language, and things will work better.
