So we've done plenty of shots in the

sun, and don't forget that you can use

a diffuser to just strain that water out,

as in strain that light and soften it,

and create a beautiful, beautiful quality of light

on whoever you're photographing.

In this case, of course, we're sort of

struggling to sort of see the camera right

now because it's quite sunny.

What I wanna do is I'm actually gonna

get Lisa on the fringe of this shadow.

So just like that, if it's possible, can

I get you to squat down?

So now, okay, we've got Lisa in the

sun.

It's important that you pose her with the

shadow falling on her face in the sun

first, because I can see what I'm doing.

And then once the diffuser goes over there,

then you know that the direction of light

and the shadow is gonna be falling in

the right place.

So Lisa, just tilt your face up, good.

Okay, we've got her both eyes in light,

and she's looking great.

So let's get the diffuser in now.

Yeah, that's better.

If you can, I know you're struggling to

sort of balance there.

Do me a favor, can you bring your

right knee up and your left knee down?

Just sort of try to get a position

where you can hold a little bit firmer

there.

That's good.

And then bring your shoulders back a little

bit.

Perfect, good.

Tilt your face this way, turn, good.

Okay, great, let's put the diffuser on.

There we go.

Yeah, that's gorgeous.

Hold it there.

Beautiful.

All right, hold it there.

Gorgeous.

Eyes at me.

Beautiful.

Let's now do one with the sun just

to show you the difference.

Obviously, dramatically different.

I'm not saying the sun is bad, it's

just different.

Remember, you can just simply grab your diffuser

out and have some fun with that too.

So let's look at that and then that.

Just beautiful.

Love the negative space behind her.

Like I said, it represents mystery rather than

harmony.

And she's perfectly sharp there we want her

to be.
