Continuing with the video of the Siqueira family.

On this next series of images

I wanted them to have movement to relax...

We were starting the session

and I saw one of the kids doing this dance of a Katy Perry video,

and I just told them: "Who can do that dance?",

It was a competition between women and men.

I put the women in front and the men behind.

And I played focusing on the girls, then focusing on the guys,

just fooling around so that they all relaxed

and flow.

Remember that all these pictures

I forced them to do with a 25mm lens,

it was another challenge for this session.

Just one lens, smooth...

It was something fun to try and take the risk of.

To lower the energy level a little.

I found, among some trees, a backlight.

We just did a relaxed an normal photo,

looking at the camera and then talking to each other.

Something that is simple to be able to hang on the walls.

Inside the madness I am always thinking of simple photos,

photos that may like, and that reflect each person's personality.

Many times seeing the camera can scare us,

(especially adults, children are more relaxed)

but to adults, when they tell us "look at the camera",

maybe because you see the reflection

of because you feel they are stealing your soul, I don't know...

But this time, it worked.

We were shooting between the trees, backlight...

and it was a very simple and beautiful take.

Now that my ass was covered (so to speak)

I started to experiment and to look for...

... for other plans.

I always try to find two-dimensional images

forget the depth a little.

In this case, we follow these stairs that were there

the second floor's floor did not exist

and it gave me the possibility of making a shot a completely from above.

I mean, 100% zenithal, without any tilt, and I really like that,

because it could be as a "drone" photo, (so to speak)

this new perspective that many people have been exploring.

And about family photos, I have not seen this a lot...

So, I chose to ask if parents wanted to sit

and then if they wanted to lay down,

and little by little we got to see...

we found a way to make a static image a dynamic image.

So, with a strong composition, with parallel lines (which are parents),

I wanted some action for this one, so I asked the children to jump on them

and to be screaming each time they jumped

and it was a fun exercise,

an exercise on family union and trust.

It was just like that exercise where you drop back

and you need to trust that the person behind you will catch you,

here was more like: trust that your children won't crush your face.

So, I tried to align them so I could see the faces,

to have a nice reaction from the parents

and I was going to lose the faces of the children

because they are looking to the side and the shot would be zenith

and this was the result...

Since we were exploring outside for a little

I felt that my lighting was being very monotonous

and, the boy or the girl (don't remember) needed to go peeing,

and we went with them

and we arrived at a closed building but it had an incredible window light.

There were some chairs where a choir sits

throughout a spacious lounge

and I found this opportunity very iconic and cinematographic.

We opened a window,

and based on that now I asked the children to lie down,

the parents were on the background,

sitting, very relaxed,

I asked them to remember that first date and to say nice things to each other

for them to relax.

So, in this image, children are in forefront,

It's just a light source:

the same window that illuminates the parents

is giving us backlight towards the children.

This is the kind of images that I love to make...

From an ordinary place,

if you don't see as a photographer, if you don't see the direction of the light,

and you don't look for this minimalism, you can saturate yourself.

I really liked the result of this photo,

it was... it was very me.

Because when I arrive at a location that I don't know

I always try to bring it to my...

to my fantasy. To this reality

that we have in mind and sometimes it is hard to put down in words,

and when you have that you just can't miss the chance.
