=Episode 12=

Someone's indeed on the hook.

Let me think about it.

Rat,

there's no way you're getting away.

Just surrender!

- Freeze. - Freeze.

Encircle the Library.

Let no one get out.

Yes.

- Shoot! - Yes.

After him.

You guys, go this way.

Let's go this way.

And you, go check over there.

Hurry.

Your Grace.

Your Grace.

Qingyun.

Your Grace.

What happened?

Hurry. Save him.

Come on.

Slow down.

Be careful.

Where is he?

My Lord,

I failed to find him.

Here, we lost all trace of blood.

Yunfang Pavilion.

Mr. Huo, bear the pain.

A poisoned arrow.

Leave the rest to me.

You watch at the door.

(Yunfang Pavilion)

Your Gr...

My Lord.

What happened?

Someone broke in.

Are you all right?

I appreciate your concern.

I've been in the room

and didn't hear anything.

That kind of rebel has evil intentions.

Beishuang,

you should stay alert.

If I meet this guy,

I'll let you know, My Lord.

Hope you won't meet him.

Thanks for your concern.

I guess it's a mouse.

Only mice creating a disturbance in the night.

Beishuang,

where is this blood coming from?

My Lord,

you scared me.

Confess!

It hurts.

How is your hand injured?

When I opened the wardrobe door,

I cut myself on the copper handle.

I had no time to wrap it yet.

Why didn't you say so?

I didn't want you to worry.

Anyway,

I'm fine.

Get some rest early.

So do you, My Lord.

(Yunfang Pavilion)

Let's go.

Your Grace.

Are you all right?

Go close the gate from the inside.

Yes.

I have to squeeze the blood.

Yell if it hurts.

Such a little injure

is nothing.

Does it hurt?

It doesn't matter.

After I wrap you up,

I'll take care of it.

Remember.

Whatever it happens

or whoever you defend,

don't risk your life anymore.

Risking it for me is less unworthy.

Your life was in danger.

I didn't have a choice.

You know, I'm not a nice guy.

I can tell

if you are a nice guy.

And I know fairly well

if I should save you.

I failed my job.

Punish me, My Lord.

We've set this trap for so long.

But he escaped.

The prey fell into the trap,

but you failed to get him!

My Lord,

I've searched the whole mansion.

How can a man like him

disappear without a trace?

There's a trace in Yunfang Pavilion.

My Lord, do you mean

Lady Beishuang?

So, you were aware of it, My Lord.

Orders, My Lord.

I'll go get him by law.

You're always so impatient.

Get up.

Tonight, put Rong Huo into the dungeon.

I'd like to see

what these guys can do.

Yes, My Lord.

One more thing.

When I rechecked the Library,

I found someone secretly helped him to escape.

Interesting.

They're like loaches.

He wasn't killed by the first poisoned arrow.

This time,

he still has no symptoms.

Can he be

invincible to poison?

You're awake?

Come on.

Take some decoction.

Be careful.

Thank you for saving my life.

But I should leave.

Not until you get better.

If you die somewhere,

I'll feel guilty.

Na Zhan is suspicious of you.

If I keep staying here,

you'll be in danger.

I've got a plan.

You just stay and get well.

After that,

I won't keep you anymore.

And...

The soft armor I gave you...

Why didn't you wear it?

I forgot.

You have to wear it all the time.

Otherwise,

give it back to me.

All right.

It's been two days.

Why has nothing happened here?

Have these rebels

just disappeared?

Don't worry, My Lord.

I will find them.

Leave us.

Zhu Jun.

Go with me to see Lady Youjia.

Yes.

This is what you cooked?

Taste it yourself.

How salty!

Did you even put a salter in it?

Let me taste it.

Nice cooking.

The cooking competition is coming.

If His Lordship tastes this,

I'll lose my position.

Confess.

Are you a real chef?

I think you're a butcher.

The pot is bad. I'm not to blame.

How dare you talk back?

Tonight, I'll give you a new pot.

If you still can't cook well,

I'll have you clubbed to death!

You have strong killing intent.

- You... - Killing what?

My Lord.

You heard it wrong.

Willing, actually.

Zhu Jun.

Get Lady Youjia some wormwood.

Yes, My Lord.

My Lord,

before you came,

why didn't you tell me?

I could have welcomed you.

A rebel broke in.

I came to check on you.

Our mansion is so heavily guarded.

How did he break in?

Did you get him, My Lord?

Who are you?

For your information,

I'm a chef from the Zhenqu Tribe.

Come over.

Show me your hand.

Quite a lot of calluses.

You must be skilled in swords.

Are you really a chef?

Don't be kidding, My Lord.

I hold kitchen knives and pot handles.

So I have the calluses.

I don't use swords or something.

Did you cook this?

Lady Youjia did.

Chopsticks.

My Lord,

let me fill your cup.

Lady Youjia...

Nice cooking.

My Lord, tonight,

will you stay at my place?

I've got you

a present.

Keep it for now.

After I'm done working,

I'll come over.

See you, My Lord.

Lady Youjia.

Lady Youjia.

His Lordship praised my cooking.

Without you,

I wouldn't know His Lordship loved me this much.

What do you want?

I'll reward you.

Maybe later.

So, it's really you

who was often up there.

You're badly injured.

How can you drink like that?

The wine heals me.

You're just an alcoholic.

Don't deny it.

The Spirit is strong and detoxifies everything.

One cup gets people drunk for three days.

But I've been drinking it.

It's like water to me.

So, I'm never poisoned.

To me,

it's simply water.

Drinking it

can also reduce the pain.

One wine, two effects.

Such amazing wine.

Let me taste some.

Tastes bad?

I thought so when I was little.

But to survive,

I had to drink.

Gradually, I got used to it.

To survive?

In my childhood, many people tried to kill me.

Shot me or poisoned me.

The slightest lapse

might get me killed.

From this day on,

you're Huo Qingyun,

my illegitimate son who wandered away from home.

Understand?

Why can't I use my real name?

Because you have to live.

Of course.

As my son,

life will also be hard.

But at least,

bad guys in Yunpei won't target you.

Do you get it?

Yes, Uncle.

Yes, Father.

(Chamber of Politics)

I witnessed a boy of my age

was poisoned

and he spit blood.

In the end, he lost his legs.

Since then,

I've been drinking the Spirit.

Why did they not even let go of a kid?

Because that's a cold place

where people kill.

Your home?

I don't have a home.

What about your parents?

They died.

I'm sorry.

Why?

It's not your fault.

It's sad for both of us.

My parents died, too.

I'm sorry.

Like you just said,

don't say sorry.

It's not your fault.

(If one day,)

(you know your mother died because of me,)

(will you still say this?)

Why don't you ask

how I was injured?

If you want to tell me

or when you can tell me,

you will do it.

I'm here in Yunpei

for an old man.

The one at the lantern show?

Yes.

He is Rong Huo.

I have to get him out.

But now,

I can't tell you the reason.

He's the man

in the secret chamber of the Library?

Clever girl.

That day, I tried to get him out.

But I was ambushed by Na Zhan.

Without Ruo Wen,

I wouldn't have escaped easily.

Ruo Wen helped you?

But I don't know what he's up to.

I escaped and survived.

But my plan failed at last.

Na Zhan is deceitful and overcautious.

After such a big scene,

I don't think

you'll have a second chance.

Is there anything

I can do for you?

No.

It's my own business.

If you want to distance yourself from me,

you don't have to tell me this.

I take you as my confidant.

But we have our own missions.

It is time

to go our own ways.

Fine.

Then,

let's

go

our own ways.

You drank too much.

It's my fault.

It's not.

When I was little,

I drank some rice wine from the Yue's in Masui

behind my mother's back.

But I wasn't drunk.

This little wine is nothing.

Come on. Keep drinking.

Drank wine when you were little?

Oh,

the Yue's also sells rice cake.

Tastes great.

Since I came to Yunpei,

I've never had any.

You're drunk.

- Get to sleep. - I'm not drunk.

So cold.

Let me warm you.

You're cold.

Why are you here again?

I'm here all the time.

I just decided to forget you.

Why are you here again?

Why are you?

So, you want me to leave?

No.

Why?

When you're around, I feel safe.

When you're away,

I always have a feeling of loss

as if I were an empty pot.

The wind blows away.

The water flows away.

Nothing can stay.

Let me do it.

Come back here.

Let's get out.

Stop looking. Come on.

Those who loved me

and protected me

are all gone.

Have you seen the tumbleweed in the desert?

I'm just like it.

I travel with the wind

and have nowhere to stay.

I thought

I wouldn't rely on anyone.

But destiny sent you.

You make me feel safe.

I get back the feeling of relying on someone

and the happiness of being protected.

But you will leave me

just like they did.

So,

most of you were abducted?

Yes.

I know I'm wrong.

I shouldn't have done such an evil thing.

I won't do it anymore.
