Ok, we got dinner, talked, we met a little more
and in the meantime I asked them if we
could do a photoshoot at dawn.
As they say: "no" is already there, so it's worth asking
and to force the couples to have a better light to work with.
I rather have 40 minutes of magic light
than 4 hours with an awful light.
So, the effort is worth it...
Like... "forcing" -so to speak-,
and say: "we will get, let's get up",
and to sell this idea of "unique photos".
Little by little people get it.
If they see your passion and you show them photos
like those you want to do with them, they will be on your side.
They won't see you as a supplier but as a partner,
a partner that is taking care of them
and when you take care of your clients they will give you more.
Qué onda, man? Do you wanna be in the click?
now you like it, huh?
We started with the hard light for the first photo,
Arturo stayed inside his room and Mayra was outside,
I was outside too.
That black frame around Arturo is my shadow, my reflection.
When you don't want to see your reflection
get as closer to the window as you can
and with your camera cover your face up
and you will have an halo, a figure...
you won't see the camera.
So, my camera is what is framing Arturo.
I asked Mayra to play, to dance as if she was a dancer
and she started to play with her arms,
and she did different figures with them.
When playing with hard light and silhouettes
I try to get them looking at the source of light
so that their profiles have a better definition.
If you want a silhouette, do not get them together,
always separate them so that their profiles are clear,
otherwise it will look an stain, a monster, an hybrid
that nobody wants to see.
I really liked that picture because it was a little reflex,
is a simple photo but when you see it
it is hard to...
is hard to guess how was it done.
I'm into that: the mysticism behind the photos.
Not behind the artist, but behind the photos...
I really like that.
And then we moved to another picture window
we stand there contemplating such a beautiful morning
and just seeing what is coming.
I like playing with time, with remembering who they were
how they first met, and who they will become.
For me, this kind of photos are playing with timelines,
not making it so obvious.
Later we went into their room,
and we played with the sweet part,
like licking Arturo -well, Mayra, not me-.
I like this, to catch those reactions
that make you feel like you are part of what is happening in front of you
That's the thing... If I would have proposed this photos
when I first met them, maybe they would have kicked my ass.
We worked on this trust, and we build it little by little
until we broke the ice and we got into their room and get these shoots.
* Do exercises with the couple, not so much poses.
* You can tell I saw something charming... didn't I?*
And finally, I wanted to play with the cat again,
so we were there, at their room, with window light
I told Arturo: "you are going to stay still and put on a hat"
- "The hat does not fit" he said - "It doesn't matter" I said
Because you, as photographer, know what will look fine.
The subject may be lost because he is not seeing what you are
So we did that: The poor cat went flying several times
and finally we were able to have a image that
the arm separated, along with Arturo and the cat
were in sync.
This was like... the summary of
an afternoon and a morning session with them.
I enjoyed it very much, honestly.
This is the first production completely made for you, guys.
I feel very, very happy with this result,
and we have many more to come.
I hope you enjoy this production as much as Eder and I do.

Treat your couples as brothers, as human beings,
not just like: "They paid me for this and here I am"
I touch people a lot, I hug them, I want them to feel my energy,
I let them know that I come in peace, I don't want to bother.
And then I focus and take care on doing my thing.
