So any journey worth taking is done not

with expectations, but with intention.

Alright, the amount of intention that's gone into

creating this course has been insane.

Like literally we are going insane.

We've got a huge team of people working

behind the scenes right now helping to put

this together and I'm sure some of them

at this point are really regretting that they've

got themselves into and I promise you that

I'd be honest because Lani's like it's impossible

to work with.

So we've got this team helping us out.

And we're all intent on creating a transformative

educational experience and an instrumental part of that

depends on your intentions.

Your intentions set the stage for your journey

and what you're gonna find along the way.

So before we get started on anything else

we need to make sure that you guys

have your notebook.

Right there in front of you right now.

Yes.

If you read my emails you will have

a notebook.

You need a dedicated notebook with lots of

pages, a blank canvas to write shit down

in one place.

Yeah they say you only retain like 3

% of what you hear.

What you hear, yeah.

But just a physical act of writing something

down helps it stick in there.

And I know like I'll hear something I

don't think I'll never forget that but then

the next day it's like in one ear

out the other.

So write shit down.

This notebook's gonna be your travel companion throughout

this entire journey and beyond actually.

That's right because you'll be able to refer

back to this years from now when you

might be in a completely different place as

a photographer and you'll draw something entirely new.

You'll have this you know this sort of

treasure trove of little golden nuggets written in

your own scribbly words.

Yeah we've actually got alumni that still have

their notebooks from seven years ago who reference

back to them and they get completely different

things from them today than they did when

they first took the course.

Okay so if you don't have a dedicated

blank notebook right there in front of you,

pause the video and go get one.

Okay so everyone got their notebook?

Cool.

Now open it up and on page one

without overthinking I want you to write down

your intentions for taking this course.

Why did you invest in this course?

Maybe you have one intention, maybe you have

ten, doesn't matter.

Maybe they're very specific like I'd like to

learn how to do trippy reflections.

Maybe they're more general like I want to

feel more confident when I show up to

my weddings.

Maybe they're more technically oriented like I want

to get better with my off-camera flash

or they could even be more esoteric like

I need to find more meaning in my

work.

Or maybe it's just a challenge that you

want to overcome, a creative rut that you're

in.

Whatever it is, don't judge it, just write

down something about what you want to get

out of this course.

Why are you here?

And take your time with this.

Really think about it, don't overthink about it,

but make sure you do it before you

press play on the next session.
