I am often left with all these kids.

And I think it's so important, like, empowering her

to be able to make decisions

without necessarily having to have my approval.

and I come in, and I support her,

on our motorcycles, from coast to coast.

coming up means that we have just scored huge

by getting on that first fligh.

The news of the fork in the road it's huge.

so we hope not to be one of those two teams.

The second flight gets in only an hour apart, so,

with airplanes coming and going and leaving early and late

We are headed to Hong Kong.

All 14 teams are leaving Los Angeles

and flying across the pacific ocean

to the neon city of Hong Kong, home to more than

7.5 million people.

Once they've touched down, teams will take a taxi

and then climb hundreds of steps

to pick up their first clue under the watchful eye

of this enormous bronze Buddha.

Hong Kong, baby. Let's do it.

This imposing tower

is where participants practice for Hong Kong's

annual bun-scrambling competition.

Competitors race up and down to grab

as many buns as possible while on the clock.

In this roadblock, instead of picking up buns,

teams must pick up a clue

tied to the top of this tower.

This is the first time in amazing race history

that teams have encountered a fork in the road.

When they get here, teams have to decide

which route they want to take to the pit stop.

Only seven teams can go in either direction,

creating a parallel race all the way to the mat.

A 14-team race will become

two parallel seven-team races

where two teams will be eliminated.

We've watched every single episode

of every single season.

This journey to trying to be on the amazing race

actually started seven years ago.

Being on the amazing race is our dream.

We're excited to have another opportunity

to apply for the amazing race.

because Alyssa is brilliant in everything she does.

She was the first person in our class

to pass the national board exa.

She was a d1 soccer player.

She just does everything exceptionally well.

And I am the clown to her genius.

I need someone to balance me out.

that decision really easy for us.

Cantonese opera is a symphony of emotions.

A captivating blend of music,

drama, elaborate costumes and intricate makeup.

On the sing route,

after being made up and dressing for the occasion,

teams must learn how to perform and sing lines

from a cantonese opera.

Coming up with the right movement

and proper pronunciation could be overwhelming.

But if they can act the part,

they'll be rewarded with a clue

and can go to the pit stop.

and sometimes to lift their partner.

This mesmerizing fusion of athleticism,

tradition and symbolism

epitomizes Chinese culture.

On the dance route,

teams must bring a lion to life

by learning a choreographed routine.

Once master so says that they're in sync,

he'll hand them a clue, sending them to the pit stop.
